Installation of OWB 10.2.0.1 - check operating system version failed

Hi,
I'm trying to install OWB 10.2.0.1 on Windows 2008 server to use it as OWB client.
But I'm not able to continue with the installation due to following error:
Checking installer requirements....
Checking operating system version: must be 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2. Actual 6.1 FAILED
Any insight on this would be of great help.
Thanks,
Shaik.

Hi Sutirtha,
Executing the setup in cmd with -ignoreSysPrereqs option as well ending up with the error, in the next step itself.
It says, Abnormal program termination. An internal error occured.
Any suggestion on, which one of below OWB s/w is compatible with Windows 2008 Server R2, 64 bit OS.
---for Microsoft Windows 32-bit, 64-bit (AMD64 / EM64T)
---for Microsoft Windows (64-bit Itanium)
I'm trying this installation with "for Microsoft Windows 32-bit, 64-bit (AMD64 / EM64T) "
Thanks in Advance,
Shaik

  • Checking operating system version: must be 5.1, 5.2. actual 6.1

    Hi, All
I am installing 10g developer suite in my laptop, once I click on setup file I am getting a message as "*checking operating system version: must be 5.1, 5.2. actual 6.1 failed*".
    System configuration is:

    Please help me,
    Regards,

    OS : Windows 7 64 bit Home BasisRAM : 6 GB,>
First off, no version of Oracle Developer Suite (ODS) 10g is certified/compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. Only Oracle Fusion Middleware (Fmw) 11g is certified for Window 64-bit. Having said that, it can be made to work.
First, you will need to set the installer to run in compatibility mode (as Hamid's article points out).
You will also need to change the Virtual Memory (VM) settings in Windows becuase the Oracle installer can't check "Windows Managed VM". Check out this Microsoft article Change the size of virtual memory for more information on how to change VM. After the installation is complete, you can change the VM back to be managed by Windows.
Lastly, you will need to start the ODS installer as an Administrator. Right-click the setup.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
As I mentioned before, ODS is not compatible with Windows 7 64-bit - and to be honest - I'm not sure it will even work with the Home Basic version. Most likely, you will be able to install succesfully, but you will likely have Forms Builder runtime errors.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi All,
My Oracle apps 11.5.10.2 is running on Suse 10, I want to upgrade my DB from 9205 to 10.2.0.1. Hi,
10.2.0.1 is not certified for RHEL 5
    use
    $ ./runinstaller –ignoreSysPrereqs
This is required because Oracle 10.2 expects OS to be RHEL 3 or RHEL/OEL 4.

  • Incorrect database version in CHECK-OS-DB-VERSION

We are performing an upgrade to NetWeaver 7.3 on a Java-only stack that is running Portal components.
We have started at NetWeaver 7.0 EhP1, on LINUX RH-EL 5 and ORACLE 11.2.0.1. We got stuck on the database check. The system reported that our database version was too low. Since the installation is distributed with the ORACLE 11.2.0.2 kit and since we had planned to upgrade ORACLE anyway, I upgraded ORACLE at this point to 11.2.0.2.
We are still getting the message the database version is too low when the installation performs the OSDB check:
    The log from /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/sdt/log/SUM/CHECK-OS-DB-VERSION_nn.LOG shows:

The log is reporting our ORACLE version as ORA 11.1.0.0.0. We never installed that version directly. When we upgraded to ORACLE 11, we went from ORACLE 10.2.0.4 directly to ORACLE 11.2.0.1.
Does anyone know where the system getting this information on the ORACLE version and how can we correct that information to reflect the true installed version of ORACLE?
    Thank-you,
    Deb Nugent.

After I confirmed that my ORACLE database was at 11.2.0.2 and my ORACLE client was installed at the higher version (per previously helpful suggestions here), I restarted the installation. I am still getting the same error in the installation screens nad the same issue seen in the logs - the installation is convinced that the ORACLE version is 11.0.
When I started the upgrade to NetWeaver 7.3, I was already at 11.2.0.1 for ORACLE. The ORACLE client was a flavor of 10 since that was the only compatible version when we upgraded ORACLE to 11.2. The installation should have seen the correct ORACLE version from the beginning and allowed me to continue.
I will try to restart the upgrade from the beginning. I am not certain this will change anything as I started with the correct version of ORACLE but I will try.

------ 2009/10/1 updated by Peter Hwang Sun 64 OWB 10201 patched to 10204
If you try to patch your OWB with 1020X and If you are running OWB in two-tier environment (OWB control center running seperately from DB server), you may want to check wb_rt_service_nodes table for its record.
    select * from wb_rt_service_nodes;
    NODE_ID INSTANCE_NUMBER HOST PORT SERVICE_NA ENABLED RUNTIME_VERSION SERVER_SIDE_HOME
    1 1 SunDB01 1521 test 1
In our environment, last two fields need to be NULL.
During 10204 OWB patch (app server binary), the process updated record and popylated 'RUNTIME_VERSION" with "Generated" and "SERVER_SIDE_HOME" with "/apps/owb" (OWB application server side Home).
Once remove the aboe two, out OWB control center is running fine.

    thank you!

    Hi Anne,
Your version of Safari is still supported.  Please see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs for supported OS and browsers.
If the Flash Player plugin is in the Plug-ins (disabled) folder it's because it's an older version that Apple has disabled in Safari.  This has nothing to do with whether or not Flash Player supports the browser.
I'm not sure what you mean by "when i click on flash player itself i am told there is no application to open it."  Flash Player.plugin only works in the browser to view Flash content in the browser.  The plugin does not open files outside of the browser.  If you have SWF files you'd like to view outside of the browser, then you'll need the Flash Player projector. However, based on your previous comments this doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.
Google Chrome does embed Flash Player in it, while Firefox does not.   Mozilla has also recently started blocking older versions of Flash Player in Firefox similar to what Apple is doing in Safari.
Following the 'clean install' instructions should result in you having the latest version of Flash Player installed that will not be blocked by the browser.

as the local disk is not enough to use the default /tmp (the DB install will fail with full disk error as the local disk space is very low )
I've created a partition from new disk to /tmp which I have then mounted (default is nfs3) :
    # mount /dev/xvdc1 /tmp
    # mount
    /dev/xvdc1 on /tmp type ext2 (rw)
the result of DB install into /tmp is :

    thks for the pointer

it does not explain the root cause of the problem but just propose a workaround to pass an option to installer which will popi\up an interactive messgae at install time

You are probably using the INSTALL CD that comes with Solaris x86.
Don't use it but use the Software CD 1/1 to boot and install the system instead. The INSTALL CD is supposed to be used on a completely blank system (no other OS's) although even there I think Software CD 1/1 does the job.
Also, if you are new to Solaris I advice you to get the FAQ (you can find it on e.g. http://www.science.uva.nl/pub/solaris/solaris2- it should be really helpfull during the first few weeks/months on Solaris

Good timing! Oh well, at least you shouldn't have to update again for a while. It will be nice kickstarting your Mac with the very latest System Update knowing any hiccups from 10.8.2 would have been ironed out if they were going to affect your workflow at all.

There's one problem with the file SAPEXEDB_82-10007250.SAR, which was in the download basket, but is not available for download. I deleted the record in the XML stack file and tried the phase again... with no success. Going through the XML file and checking if the packages have been downloaded is a real pain in the ***.
Anyway, can I somewhere download this file SAPEXEDB_82-10007250.SAR?
Or can anyone help me, how solve this issue different way?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

OK, I got it. Wrong installation number. We had to change the installation number in the stack file according the system in the Solution Manager via transaction SMSY. Then it worked like a charm.
