Installation of Platform Agent

Hello,
We have a Redwood scheduler configured on SAP system(AIX+Oracle, only Java Stack)
Now we are trying to install the "Platform Agent Installation - Version 0_26_6" on another server to act as a client to the Redwood Scheduler.
The platform agent installation script asks for Server Port number. I do not know which port would the Redwood Server use to communicate with the Platform Agent.
Kindly help.

Hi Gautam,
Port 1555 is the default port for the platform agent to listen to connections from the CPS repository.
Port 5xx00 is the port you need if you want the platform agent to register itself with the CPS repository during installation.

How to publish list of "other" (ie, Solaris) platform agent deployments

In the Deployments section of EM, how does one publish new platform agent downloads ($OMS_HOME/sysman/agent_download/10.2.0.1.0/linux)? I have followed the instructions in "Uploading Agent Installation Software for Different Platforms, Deploying the Management Agent, Oracle® Enterprise Manager Grid Control Installation and Basic Configuration", but so far, no dice.

We have the OMS 10.2.0.1 running on Linux and received the instructions to install Patch 4645135. This should be the solution to get the platform entries to the drop-down list for all the platforms installed in agent_download/<version>/<platform>.
However, it doesn´t list my 10.2.0.1/hpi subdirectory for HP-UX Itanium. SR is being worked on.

Management Pack.
And for this kind of issue, we should contact IBM Vendors. As the MP is designed by them, and they are more familar with IBM product.

Installation audit vault agent with RAC configuration

Hi at all,
I have a question about the installation of the agent on the RAC configuration. Where must I install the Audit vault agent, on all RAC nodes or is there a properly configuration?

By default when you install the agent on any single node the installation recognizes that it is a cluster and presents you with a list of available nodes from which to select.
With a RAC cluster you have one database and multiple instances. All instances will write to one, and only one AUD$ and FGA_LOG$ table so if you are using database auditing one node will suffice. Which node that is though depends on knowing which node is up at any one time so you could potentially choose a node that is dropped from the cluster or is down for patching and maintenance while the cluster is still running. With respect to REDO collection each node has its own redo thread so you definitely need to be collecting from every node.
Audit Vault has not been out long enough that I can tell you from experience what might be defined as "best practice" and often what we really need to study is "worst practice" to know what not to do. But in the case of RAC my instinct would be to first determine the collection type(s) and then decide. Erring on the side of collecting from all nodes makes a lot of sense.

SunMC 3.6.1, Platform Agent Deletion Error!!

now i'm testing SunMC 3.6.1.
i installed SunMC server on Ultra25 and agent on E6900.
i tried to install "Sun Fire Midrange Systems Platform Administration" add on product and created "Multiple Platform Agent Instances" on Ultra25. below procedure issued completely.
# /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-platform �a SC
# /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-stop �a
# cd /opt/SUNWsymon/addons/SunFirePltAdmin/sbin
# ./es-setup.sh �I SC
# /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-start �y SC
and i tried to undo the Setup of a Sun Fire Midrange Systems Platform Administration Instance and delete a Platform Agent.
below procedure issued completely.
# ./es-setup.sh -u -I SC
but i can't delete Platform Agent. below script create error.
# /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-platform �d SC
how can i delete Multiple Platform Agent Instances?

Just to clarify my situation in regards to what have been said.
I'm running Solaris 10 6/06 with update 2 as seen by output from my system, an old lady that listens to the name 'Enterprise 450'. I just downloaded the 3.6.1 SMC from Sun the other day. I was trying to install it on the very same machine.
I googled around a little and stumbled upon this thread and thought that this may be the same problem. Haven't looked any deeper into this since it is my test system and i felt OK with the answer given.
Anyway, seems a little odd from SUN's part not supporting this on their own system.
What HW are you running and in which config?

Platform agent does not working after installing SMS 1.5

Good time of the day to everybody,
I'm using SunMC 3.6 to monitor SFE25K. After upgrading SMS version to 1.5 platform agent on SC crashes after few minutes of running. In the log files I see only "[ID 603404 kern.notice] NOTICE: core_log: esd[23533] core rlimit is zero, core not dumped" in the messages file. At the same time ConfigReader works fine.
I can't find any patches or documents related to this problem at sunsolve. Does anybody knows how to make the agent to work? 'es-setup -F' does not helps.

Do I need to set permisions to have full access to the platform agent?
I am getting "Insufficient security privilege to load console info".
I can do anythinf to the host agent but not the platform agent, config reader.

Platform agent activstion

actually I'm testing CPS features on a test SAP environment.
I've installed a Platform agent in a SAP AS in order to test the file events.
Now I cannot contact Platform Agent from CPS because of an error regarding parameter: SwitchUserCommand
I tried to set these different vaues:
sudo -u $The specified item was not found. -c $
But I get the same error:
Service "PlatformAgentService" on process server "TEP_bitter_PlatformAgent_ProcessServer" stopped unexpectedly.
Details:
JCS-116010: Platform agent reports: Configuration failed; see operator messages
CPS and SAP system is HP-UX 11.xx.
Do you know which is a valid sudo string?

Hi,
Have you tried any of the other security options, or tried to use the system default again ?
You can change or reset the security setup by running the command "rca" from your agent binaries directory.
By default, the SwitchUserCommand parameter is not set if I recall correctly, so you can also try to remove this parameter setting on the process server and see if the default works.

CPS - Redwood : Error JCS-108003 on an unix platform agent

I get the following error message u201CJCS-108003: No backends could retrieve the specified jobfile (ID: 664,788); failure possibly transient.u201D
while running a CPS job on a unix platform agent. Even the command "ls" return that message.

jobs are running now on the platform agent. It was a problem on the security tab of the PA.
I grant rights to my redwood user and it works after reboot of the PA.
I'm now dealing with this error below :
"/home/redwood/agent/var/SAP_RW0_41/PI-DEV/jobs/71565/run_KSH[120]: ./: 0403-006 Execute permission denied"
eXecute rights is ok on the scripts of the unix target server.

Silent installation of Cloud agent 12c failed on a windows 2003 host

I've done multiple installations by silently installing the cloud agent 12c using a response file. However, the configuration portion failed on this one windows 2003 host.
Has anyone seen this? I've searched on metalink and see other problems like TZ, service already exists, incorrect PERL settings etc..but found nothing that helps so far.

Hi!
I would like to install Introscope Agent.
Neither the manual installation nor the installation via Setup Introscope Agent was succesfull.
case a) automatic installation via SMD Wizard
The erros of installation with SMD Wizard (Setup Introscope Agent):
The landscape definition of selected system is empty.
Operation has been aborted
case b) manual installation (uncar the file ISAGENT71...SAR)
With the manual installation of Setup Introscope Agent ISAGENT71*.SAR I have the following problem:
No folder /usr/sap/ccms/wily/logs exist
If I add Java settings in Config Tool, restart the system and open the file d:\usr\sap\<SID>\<instance>\j2ee\cluster\instance.properties
I can not find any entries added before.

After installing a policy agent 2.0 for IIS 5.0, I don't have an amagent dir at the IIS docroot. is this normal? Or do you have this dir with working installation?

IIS will be installed by default on windows 2003 operating system , to open IIS , please use start --> run --> inetmgr. or start --> programs--> administrative tools --> IIS manager.
in order to install additional components you need to have i386 folder. you can navigate to c:\windows\i386 folder.

On Windows, does the WebLogicPlatform use
the Windows Installer Service for installation?
Are product and patches MSI based?
If not, how are upgrades and patch updates handled?

WL Platform installation is not based on msi.
Upgrades and patches are delivered in several ways, e.g., separate executables, zip, or smart update over net.
