Installation of PsElements on Mac OS 10.6.8

Installation keeps failing on downloaded Ps Elements8 (bundled with graphic tablet). The diagnosis tool didn't help. Any suggestions anyone?

Do you receive any type of an error message?

You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.

  • Two Boot Camps installs on the same Mac Pro?

Is it possible to install two Boot Camps on two different internal drives on a Mac Pro? Can I rename the Boot Camps disks to, say, BOOTCAMPXP and BOOTCAMP7? Will this confuse the startup disk system preference in OS X or the Boot Camp control panel in XP and Windows 7?
I would really appreciate any help here.

    Hi,
first: be sure to have/make a backup of what you have now.
second: have a look at the instructions here http://www.harbar.net/articles/mbptb.aspx
The order you need to do the installation/partition is this:
Mac OSX, Win XP (instead of Vista), W7 (instead of Windows 2008 server) (as used in the linked article).
    Good luck

  • "Download the OS X Installer app from the Mac App Store" - where to find it? A search doesn't bring any result...

I want to create a bootable USB drive for Yosemite. The support site suggests to ""Download the OS X Installer app from the Mac App Store" prior the creation. But where to find it in the App store? Any search combination does not bring a meaningful result....
    Thanks guys.

Thanks Matt, understood. It was my fault, just simply thinking, there is an App called "Installer"

  • How to get rid of installation alert sign on mac?

    Hi,
I have a really annoying Installation alert on my mac book pro.
Hot do I get rid of it?
    Thanks

Also note that if you have multiple users logged in and another user has the applications open that the installation alert is referencing then A)that may cause the alert in your account and B)quitting those applications in the other users account may remove the alert. In my situation my wife and I use the same laptop but have separate user accounts and I found that when I got one of these alerts, logged in to her account and quit the relevant apps, then logged back in to my account the alert was gone.

  • Installation problems on Intel Mac. claims PPC

I'm trying to install the current Flash Player 10.2 on my Macbook 6,1 (Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.26GHz) with 4GB RAM, running OSX 10.6.6
    Browser is Firefox 3.6.13 {Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13}
I got the installer from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
The installer puts up a message: "Devices with PowerPC processors are no longer supported"
How can I convince the installer that this isn't a PPC machine ?  Why might the installer think so ?

Hi, What browser are you using to try to Uninstall/Install FP vs 10.2? And when you Install 10.1, what browser are you using?
There is no Flash Player support for a 64bit browser. I have been very busy on the Forum and have not had time to check on the 10.3 beta. Not sure what it refers to. Have you? Just asking as I've seen it mentioned on another thread, but it's from those complaining about 10.2 not working. Why anyone would want a beta Installed unless they are involved in the testing and are Developers I don't know.
Any beta is a work in progress, so as long as a user is aware of that it's ok with me. Microsoft has their IE9 in beta too, but with an beta one can expect problems.
Since the 10.2 is not Installing, then I don't think you'd receive any code, do you?
I'm not as familiar with the Mac, but is it possible to upgrade the OS from a PPC to the edition you have now?
I'm going to check a couple of things while you let me know on the above browser info. Also any comments would be welcome:-)
    Thanks,

  • No OSX installer will boot on Mac Pro from any drive (grey screen), but Windows installer does...

    Greetings,
Neither OSX 10.5 (shipped with my Mac) or 10.6 disks will start on either of my Mac Pro dvd drives.  They will not run from my Macbook (Mac Pro on firewire target mode) either, nor from a partition on the Mac Pro HDD.  They always go as far as the grey logo screen with the spinning wheel, where they get stuck.
Verbose mode will display the following lines where it gets stuck:
    DSMOS has arrived
Warning - com apple.driver.InternalModemSupport declares no kernel dependencies; using com.apple.kernel.6.0
Then it lists two ethernet addresses and nothing else.
I have reset the PRAM about a hundred times in the last days.  Same goes for the SMC, well, maybe only a dozen times this one...  I have run fsck, too.
I can no longer run the hardware test on the install disk 2, but when I still could a couple of days ago, all was reported fine.
BTW Windows installer will load though...  What is going on here?!?
Any suggestion (other than suicide, yet anyway!) would be greatly appreciated.

Windows won't give a kernal panic or BSOD because it is a Mac related hardware issue.

Your asking about a Mac Pro, but those are not "G5" and the OS can't be transferred between PowerMacs and Mac Pro.... are you sure we are talking about only Mac Pros?
Putting XP and Mac OS on the same drive, that doesn't strike me as what one would do; keep them on different drives.
And, if they are on the same drive, then you really haven't reformatted the drive, which would involve wiping any and all partitions, and then creating your Mac Standard (HFS+ Journaling) and backup XP with WinClone or install it to another drive.
I don't have trouble with Windows, but I do with the Boot Camp Assistant and drivers.

I am trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on my 2006 Mac Pro (Upgraded to 2,1 firmware). If I restart it and select the Windows disk drive at start up with the install disc removed disc drive then all I get is a black screen with a flashing underscore in the top left corner.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Cannot Complete Installation of Vista with Mac Pro and Boot Camp

I only have one hard drive with my Mac Pro, and I partitioned the drive into two sections with boot camp and restarted with my Vista 64 bit Ultimate CD.
I have tried formatting the partition with Vista and it still gives me the dreaded error message of "windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria". I've tried deleting the partition during installation, and making a new partition with Vista, reformatting, then restarting the computer. Same message.
I don't know what to do. I've tried like mad searching for topics like this one here, but every one of them deals with installing vista on a second dedicated hard drive on the Mac Pro. I only have one. How do I get this to work?
Please help if you can. I would REALLY appreciate it. I'll be watching the thread. Thank you!!

I have the 3GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors. I tried installing Vista ultimate with my 32 bit software, but I still get the same message (I own both legally, btw).
    Thanks for your help.
    Several things to do:
Run OS-X Disk utility and repair the disk if necessary, and file permissions.
Be sure your HD has the GUID partition scheme and if it has SMART that it's OK
    Zap the PRAM
Be sure you are logged in as administrator when creating the BC partition and starting the installation of Windows from Leopard
When I installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit, I was using BootCamp beta, 1.2 or 1.3. I created the partition with BootCamp Assistant.app as you did. It's a 60GB partition that I formatted with NTFS with BC.
After starting the install in Tiger, I then simply inserted the Vista 64-bit DVD and that was it.
    It just installed.
Ditto with XP-Pro on my other MBP. Zero problems with BC. It was also done with a beta, BC1.0.
I have never installed Windows using Leopard. When I updated to Leopard from Tiger nothing changed, but there seem to be more problems with Leopard and BC2.0 than there were with Tiger and the beta versions.
There are no requirements about legality until after the OS is installed, so that's a moot point.
There are some install DVDs that are in ISO format and they won't work, but it seems that yours is working but not finding a suitable volume.
You might try reformatting the BC partition with BootCamp assistant as FAt32 and seeing if that works, but you are limited to 32GB if you do that, but it would be a good test. Vista should then format it into NTFS.
Be sure that your Leopard OS is fully backed up because stuff happens when you keep fooling around with partitions.

  • PSE 8 Installer not running on Mac OS 10.5 or 10.6

I am new to Adobe. This is my first product. No Adobe products on my machines, other than Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Tried to install Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac on two different Aluminum Macbooks - one running OS 10.5 and the other 10.6.
After inserting the DVD there is no installer that runs.
I get an icon on the desktop. Clicking the icon shows me several files on the disc - including the read me file that says to install just "follow the onscreen instructions."
There is one file that is titled "setup" - but when I click that it asks for my password. I have not provided the password because it just doesn't feel like this is the proper way to install this software.
Any ideas on how to get the installer to run?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
Regarding "There is one file that is titled "setup" - but when I click that it asks for my password. I have not provided the password because it just doesn't feel like this is the proper way to install this software.":
AFAIK, installers of Adobe applications do ask for an admin password before they start installing them on user's machine. There are multiple reasons to ask for the admin priveledges:
    1. It prevents a guest/unknown user who might use your machine for some time to make any changes on your machine like installing/uninstalling applications.
    2. Installer gets the required priveledges to copy files in \Applications, \User specific folders, OS specific folders, etc with right set of permissions assigned to different files so that application doesn't nag user while running for admin priveledges.
    3. In many enterprises, admins do not want applications that install without admin privilege, as this is seen as an attempt to work around deliberate install restrictions.
Regarding you suggestion of "Adobe should include this step in the "installation" instructions on the "read me" file for users like me.", we will try to take care of this in future releases as some other users have also raised this issue. Thanks again for sharing feedback.
I am happy that you been able to get started.
    Regards,
    Ankush
