Installation of SAP BW 3.5 on SAP R3 5.0
Hi for all!!
I have a question to do for an installation of bw 3.5
It is possible with the new version of SAP R3 5.0 to install BW 3.5 on the same ambient (same client)of R3 and connect directly on this, or you need always of two distinguished
machine to connect via RFC( client R3 connect to client BW)??
thank you very much for any help
Best regards
Hi Remo,
It is possible to use SAP NetWeaver BI within the mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.0) system. This is called 'Embedded BI'. This is where both solutions use the same database and are not installed as two separate instances. One instance in one database.
Please note that this is a project solution - you must contact SAP and apply to use the solution. This is a simple safeguard to ensure that both solutions run correctly and as expected. SAP note 855534 will be released soon with details on how to apply and a questionnaire to complete.
Please note there are some restrictions to using this solution. You cannot use this in a MDMP mySAP ERP system. you cannot use the same client for BI as your ERP clients - it must be in its own client.
Also note that BI extractions and dataloads work in the same way as if the SAP NetWeaver BI and mySAP ERP systems were separate.
I hope this helps,
Mike.

HELP ME IN step by step installation for sap 4.7 IDEAS AND sap 4.7 EE
HI
EXPERTS CAN ANYBODY GIVE STEP BY STEP INSTALLATION PROCESS FOR BOTH
SAP 4.7 IDEAS AND EE VERSIONS I AM NOT THAT MUCH PROFICIENT IN INSTALLING I HOPE U R GUIDLINES CAN MAKE ME CLEAR IN INSTALLING I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS RATHER THAN THIS TO ANSWER
1.IS THE ISTALLATION PROCESS OF ALL SAP VERSIONS ARE SAME?
2.WHAT IS AN OBJECT IN SAP?
3.WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COMPOSITE ROLE AND A DERIVED ROLE?
YOU CAN SEND ANSWERS TO MY MAIL ID:<b>[email protected]</b>
THANK YOU TO ALL IN ADVANCEHey Rajesh,
answers:
1) Yes, the installations procedures is almost the same for all SAP versions, however its advisible to use follow the installation guides which comes with the DVD or is also available in SAP marketplace..
2) Object is SAP is almost everything in Sap.
object could be anything like
TABLES
PROGRAMS
VIEW
FUNTTION MODULES
DOMAIN
DATA ELEMENT
STRUCTURE
and so on
3)Composite role is the combination of two or more roles(be it 2 or more single roles or combination of two or more composite roles or permutation of single and composite role).. whereas derived roles can inherit all authorization objects from the parent role and can have its own authorization objects as well..
Hope this clears your doubts.
Revert for any clarifications..
Please reward for usefull post.

SAPGUI 7.20 installer script in Lion fails to create SAP folder in Pref
I have an issue in which the the SAPGUI for Mac installer/script is failing to created tge SAP folder in Hard drive /Library/Preferences folder as in does in Snow Leopard. When I use my Applescript later to move the connection files to the preferences folder, it fails because the SAP folder was not created by the SAPGUI installer script. It looks like Apple has increased security on the Preferences folder since I'm being prompted to delete any file in the Preferences folder or subfolders.
I using PlatinGUI720MacOSX_6-10006059.JAR (version 720.6)
I've tried to modify my applescript to create the SAP folder in Hard drive/Library/Preferences but have not been successfully and also a bit concerned about where else the install script behaves differently in Lion compared to Snow Leopard.Hi, not we not have opened note for the issue.
we check, open note in oss.
Thank you. -

Hello Everybody,
I install SAP BO Enterprise Edition XI 3.1

I configured all the integration and it works fine, i can log on the Infoview with SAP ID.
I work with SAP R/3 4.6C
The problem is when i connect to the R/3, Crystal show me the system that i have in the saplogon.ini, and then i used a user that i have to test, whenn i tried to logon, an error occurs...
Logon failed.
Details: You do not have the necessary rights to design reports against the SAP system. Please check with your system administrator.
And when i used the user sap*
Logon failed.
Details: Name or password is incorrect. Please re-enter.
So... what do i need to pass that rights to my user??? or do i need to do some kind of customizing in the SAP R/3 system???
Thanks!
Edited by: Erick Fernando Nicolas Fernandez on Aug 10, 2011 3:55 AMThere is a specific set of authorizations that you need to provide to your SAP user to be able to create CR reports against SAP data source. Check in the "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Integration for SAP Solutions Installation and Administration Guide" chapter 13 called "Authorization".
You can download this guide in the following URL: ht[http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000559912010E/xi31_sp3_bip_sap_inst_en.pdf|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000559912010E/xi31_sp3_bip_sap_inst_en.pdf]

Edited by: Chandra Vikash on Oct 11, 2011 1:46 PMHello gaurav,
I have tried re-installing.
I am able to open the web-admin and also all the links except the ones in the adapters section.
I have checked the installation document, adapter guide for BC 4.8 but i couldnt find anything useful.
I was just wondering if it has got anything to do with the OS.
lemme know if you have come across anything like this.
thanks for the help.

We have checked OSS and found note 928444 but this is for an older version. We are on Kernel 7.0 with the latest patch level.
Any ideas on a solution for this?
Thanks!
GráinneYes, you need to follow the path:
swdc > Download > Installations and Upgrades > Entry by Application Group > SAP Application Components > SAP E-COMMERCE FOR SAP R/3 > SAP INTERNET SALES R/3 4.0 > Installation
Here you should find two files.
Direct links to files (hope they work):

Configuration of SAP NW AS (Configuration of SAP Mobile Infrastructure)
Hello everyone
'm configuring the MI and I want to clarify some key concepts.
In the configuration of SAP NetWeaver AS when it says to initiate transactions (eg PFCG) means over the SAP R3 system?
Thanks, GokhanDear Veeraraagavan,
Yes, SAP R/3 = backend
I think you're right, and I'm banging my head on for days ... I gave a quick glance at guides (installation, architecture, Installation Options, etc.) on the SAP Web NWAS and I think I found a bit of light!
But I need confirmation from you experts.
On the Configuration of SAP Mobile Infrastructure in Prerequisites section is written that there is need of SAP NetWeaver AS 2004 (including the SAP J2EE Engine and the ABAP stack), so if I understand correctly the installation option for SAP Web AS is Integration = SAP Web Application Server ABAP + Java System. So what in the figure http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=vg3nzmjhiwm&thumb=6 represents only a SAP Web Application Server Java System (J2EE Engine) and non-SAP Web Application Server ABAP + Java System? Or it could be an ABAP + Java System?
I'm thinking that might be missing only the SAP GUI to access the ABAB ENGINE as shown in this photo http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/84/54953fc405330ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm .
Thanks in advance, Gokhan -

Best way for an SAP newbie to work towards SAP BW + HCM
Hi, I am looking to be a part of a SAP HCM analytics group however an completely new to SAP. I would like to know what would be the best way to learn it. I am a Software engineer by profession however have not worked with SAP before. I have purchased a SAP Netwearver BI book from SAP press and have gone over various components of SAP BW, however not having a system to get my hands dirty learning is a challenge. Also from a functional perspective i have no experiance with HR and hence that is another challenge I am trying to work against. You help is appreciated.
ThanksYa as I was typing my message I realized I probably wasn't going to need the .net connector since I want a very generic service that basically just hands off the payment details to SAP.
As for what is going to consume the webservice ideally it would be independent of the type of SAP being used since potentially serveral different SAP installations would be able to access the service.
For the first version I am making the service be consumed by SAP Netweaver 7 Trial version. My company has a few clients using SAP lined up already to use the service once it is working but I don't know yet what version of SAP they each run.
If that is not possible I will either have to make a separate webservice for each type of SAP or else go another route and perhaps send the data as xml to SAP and let it import it on its own.
Right now I am playing around with the SOA manager, is that where the SAP PI is or am I on the wrong track.
I'll keep posting to this thread as I go along so someone in the future doing something similar can benefit.
I am trying to get the example at /people/wolfgang.bauer2/blog/2009/07/08/call-wcf-service-net-from-sap-with-usernametoken-and-ssl "Call WCF Service (.NET) from SAP with UsernameToken and SSL" going as a first step to understanding things.
