Installation of SAPCCM4X-Agent on Windows Cluster

Hi!
I woulld like to install SAPCCM4X-Agent on Windows Cluster.
Does anyone know the procedure here (e.g. install the agent twice on both nodes, etc.)...
Thank you very much!
regards
Thom

Hello Thom,
Here is a note that will help you out.
SAP Note 536954 - OS data in a cluster environment for OS07
As per the note
The CCMS agent must be located on a shared disk, so that the cluster administrator software can start the service later.

Siddhesh

    Hi!
    If I try to continue with the installation of Central Instance of Cluster I get the following error:

    Solution: remove the schema and load it with a new load before you run this installation

  • Installation problems with SAPCCM4X Agent

    Hi!
    I would like to install a SAPCCM4x agent on windows and have two problems.
    By one of the systems when i execute the commando for the installation sapccm4x -R pf=...
    I get the following error message:
    ERROR: Cannot open Monitoring Segment 0 rtc = 245
    Last reported error: 249 CCMS monitoring segment has wrong EYE CATCH: CCMS monitoring segment belongs to a non-ABAP
    SAPCCM4X of release 7.00 is to be used only to monitor ABAP instances of kernel release 7.00 (NW04s) or 6.40.
    By the second system I can install the SAPCCM4X agent, but the agent is stopped after 3 seconds.
    I have looked into the log files I do not detect any problems.
    Can some one help to solve the problems ?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi,
    I could install XE in my (physical) machine with FC4 without any particular issue (just had to add some swap space); I also had to remove reference to ORACLE* environment variables prior to install the rpm (the rpm install warned me about both of the issues)
    I just miss the menu icons that are correctly installed in suse: did you manage to have them?

  • Can we install a new mssql cluster on the same windows cluster which already containes a mssql cluster with named instance

    We have a MSSQL 2008R2 Enterprise edition with a two node active passive fail-over cluster running on 2008R2 windows cluster with out any issues,
    Now my question is can we add one more MSSSQL cluster instance for the same setup with out disturbing the existing one ?
    Also give thoughts on load sharing as the second node is mostly ideal now except fail-over scenarios,
    Why we go for this situation is because of the collation setting which can be set only one per instance(Database collation setting change not working), we need a different default collation for the new setup

    hi,
    >>Now my question is can we add one more MSSSQL cluster instance for the same setup with out disturbing the existing one ?
    Yes it is possible .You need to add new drives as cluster aware and install SQL server and put data and log files on thse drives.YOu would need to create named instance of SQL server and need to create different resource group.Both old installation and new
    onw would work separately.
    >>Also give thoughts on load sharing as the second node is mostly ideal now except fail-over scenarios,
    Good point indeed.You are about to create Multi instance cluster and should plan for scenario where one node is down and other node is handling load for both instances.Memory and CPU should be enough to handle the load.
    >>Why we go for this situation is because of the collation setting which can be set only one per instance(Database collation setting change not working), we need a different default collation for the new setup .
    Just for collation if you are installing new instance seems little wierd to me.You can manage collation at column ,database and at server level.

  • Error while performing SAP Installation in HA Env on Windows Server 2008

    Hello,
    I am performing a SAP Installation in HA Environment on Windows Server 2008. I am at the ASCS installation step.
    As per the guide before installing ASCS there are some activities to be carried out on Failover Cluster Management.
    I have done all the steps except one as per the guide. I am stuck in the Add FileServer Step. In this step the guide says to go to the Dependencies tab and add the cluster disk resource to the dependencies list. It also says to add the Name:Virtual NetworkName to the dependencies list.
    Now in my scenario I have 3 shared drives for SAP and I have added each of them in the dependencies list of the new FileServer. The only problem is how do I add the Name:Virtual NetworkName to this list
    When I continue without giving the Network name the system issues a warning "This resource requires dependencies on instances of the following resource types or classes:Network Name. Not adding these dependencies will prevent the resource from working properly. Do you want to save the current settings anyway"
    If I click on Yes and bring this resource online it fails with this error message
    "The action Bring this resource online did not complete.An error occured while attempting to bring the resource 'SAPECC FileServer online'. The cluster resource could not be brought online by resource monitor."
    My question is how to add the Name:VirtualNetworkName to the dependencies list of the FileServer.

    Mitesh Nair

    Hi,
    I have resolved the issue with the help of cluster admin

  • Is my installation of SQL Server Fail Over cluster correct?

    I made a 2 node SQL Server 2012 fail over cluster but having some problems during installation so I wanted to know if the steps below I performed are correct.
    Hardware
    Node1 192.168.1.10
    Node2 192.168.1.11
    Added following entries in DNS
    cluster.domain.local 192.168.1.12 (for Windows Cluster)
    msdtc.domain.local 192.168.1.13 (for MSDTC)
    sql.domain.local 192.168.1.14 (for SQL Server Cluster)
    Cluster Storage
    Disk1 (for Quorum)
    Disk2 (for MSDTC
    Disk3 (for SQL Server)
    Now comes the installation. I am performing all these steps as DOMAIN ADMIN.
    1. First I installed clustering role on both nodes
    2. Then I ran fail over validation wizard on Node1 adding both nodes which went fine (there were some warnings)
    3. Then I made a Windows Cluster on Node1 using these two nodes. I gave the name and IP to this cluster which I wrote above i.e. cluster.domain.local 192.168.1.12
    4. Cluster was created and boths nodes are UP.
    Now I want to ask a question here. Is it best practice to perform the above operation using DOMAIN ADMIN? Or if I use a standard domain user account with local admin rights, will it work? If not then exactly what rights are required to perform this operation.
    5. Then I installed "Application Server" role on both Node1 and Node2 and also added "Distributed Transaction" feature
    6. Then I right clicked on Windows Cluster I created and added a new role/feature which is "DTC"
    7. I gave it the same name which I wrote above i.e. msdtc.domain.local 192.168.1.13
    8. MSDTC was created but when it tried to UP its service, it threw an error. Upon investigation it turns out the Windows Cluster cluster.domain.local doesn't have proper rights to created some objects in AD. I didn't know what rights to give so I gave it full
    permission and after that when I created MSDTC again, the service went up fine.
    So I want to know what rights does cluster.domain.com require to make MSDTC?
    Am I doing good so far?

    Hello,
    >>Then I made a Windows Cluster on Node1 using these two nodes. I gave the name and IP to this cluster which I wrote above i.e. cluster.domain.local 192.168.1.10
    Hello I suppose this IP was physical node IP windows cluster IP was 192.168.1.12  I suppose yo must have given this IP as windows cluster IP.10 and 11 are physical nodes in Cluster but 12 is Cluster IP .Correct me if I am wrong.
    Did you do failover and failback to check whether cluster is configured correctly or not ,If not please do it .
    >>Then I ran fail over validation wizard on Node1 adding both nodes which went fine (there were some warnings)
    Please remove warnings also ,it might cause issue.Not sure its correct every time but make sure cluster validation should be free of error and warning.
    >>Now I want to ask a question here. Is it best practice to perform the above operation using DOMAIN ADMIN?
    You can do it with domain admin account as this is required to create Cluster NAme object(CNO) in domain and local account might not have that right so I would say its ok.
    >>I gave it the same name which I wrote above i.e. msdtc.domain.local
    192.168.1.11
    again this IP is node 2 IP how can you give it to MSDTC.Use below link for reference

  • EM12c and GC11g Agent for Windows 2003 R2 64 bit

    Hello Everyone,
    I have setup a GC 11g on Oracle Linux 64 bit to monitor the servers in the data center.
    The problem is, I'm having difficulties installing an agent in Windows 2003 R2 64 bit.
    Few months ago when I checked the certification matrix for GC 11g Agent, I saw that it didn't support Windows 2003 R2 64 bit platform.
    Apparently, now I cannot choose 11.1.0.1.0 in the certification matrix anymore and have left with 12.1.0.1.0 and 12.1.0.2.0.
    However, even the 12c also doesn't put Windows 2003 R2 64 bit platform in the list of supported OS platform.
    The strange thing is Windows 2003 R2 32 bit is supported.
    So, my questions are:
    1. Is there any of you who was successful in implementing the EM12c or GC11g agent on Windows 2003 R2 64 bit?
    2. If you are successful, did you experiencing any problem after the installation and during the installation phase?
    3. Can I use 10.2.0.5.0 agent which is supported to be installed on Windows 2003 R2 64 bit and managed by either GC11g or EM12c?
    Thank you,
    Adhika

    Hi Adhika,
    Windows 2003 R2 is not supported.
    The only supported platforms are :
    XP,Vista,7,2008 R2,2008,2003
    Even 10.2.0.5 agent is not supported.
    The only supported platforms are:

  • Installation audit vault agent with RAC configuration

    Hi at all,
    I have a question about the installation of the agent on the RAC configuration. Where must I install the Audit vault agent, on all RAC nodes or is there a properly configuration?
    Thanks
    Vincenzo

    By default when you install the agent on any single node the installation recognizes that it is a cluster and presents you with a list of available nodes from which to select.
    With a RAC cluster you have one database and multiple instances. All instances will write to one, and only one AUD$ and FGA_LOG$ table so if you are using database auditing one node will suffice. Which node that is though depends on knowing which node is up at any one time so you could potentially choose a node that is dropped from the cluster or is down for patching and maintenance while the cluster is still running. With respect to REDO collection each node has its own redo thread so you definitely need to be collecting from every node.
    Audit Vault has not been out long enough that I can tell you from experience what might be defined as "best practice" and often what we really need to study is "worst practice" to know what not to do. But in the case of RAC my instinct would be to first determine the collection type(s) and then decide. Erring on the side of collecting from all nodes makes a lot of sense.

  • Oracle client install on Windows Cluster

    Hi,
    Is it possible to install Oracle Client (v10.2) on a Windows Cluster (win2003 Enterprise Edition) so that it is cluster aware?
    Essentially, I need this to support Linked servers and ODBC connections (to Oracle database) on a Sqlserver instance which is going to be clustered . I am exploring possibilities of Oracle client installation which would require minimal or no changes when server fails from one node to the other.
    Any help or pointers to any documentation gratefully recieved.
    Regards,
    Jim.

    Hello there !!!...
    I have a question like that... I just want to know if you can export data to a MsSQL server that is in cluster.
    Thanks for the response.

  • Oracle Installation or Uninstallation Solutions For Windows 95/98/2000/ME/NT/XP

    You must read carefully the following steps here. If you previously installed any Oracle's products on your machine, I strongly recommend you to clean up thoroughly before install the new products.
    ================================================================
    Uninstallation
    The easiest way to remove ALL traces of Oracle software, for an 8i installation, is:
    (1) Using regedit, remove the key \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\ORACLE.
    (2) Remove all the Oracle services (usually called Ora-something) from \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services.
    (3) Go to the ORACLE_HOME directory (usually C:\Oracle\Ora81). Go to the BIN directory beneath this. Rename the file OCIW32.DLL to something like OCIW32.OLD.
    (4) Reboot your box.
    (5) Once you have logged on again, delete the directories C:\Program Files\Oracle and C:\Oracle.
    (6) Right-click on My Computer, select Properties->Environment. Edit the environmental variable PATH to remove all refernces to files in the two directories you have just deleted.
    (7) Remove the Oracle folders from your Start menu.
    *** Obviously, using regedit on your machine always entails risks, and I won't be held responsible if you end up trashing your system. However, the above procedure is one I have used many times with complete success. You have been warned! ;) ***
    As to logging on, the "standard" Oracle accounts are:
    SYS/change_on_install (SYSDBA - database owner)
    SYSTEM/manager (Owns various VIEWs and utility PACKAGEs)
    and (optionally):
    SCOTT/tiger (Training account containing some sample tables)
    If you're using PO8i on the local machine, you shouldn't need to worry about setting up NET*8 (Oracle's networking protocols)
    =================================================================
    Windows 95 and 98
    This will remove all Oracle products, Oracle services, and Oracle registry entries from your computer.
    Complete the following steps to create a Clean Machine. Backup any relevant databases before proceeding!
    On Windows 95 and Windows 98:
    1. Ensure you shutdown your Oracle. Right click on the Oracle Icon in the toolbar and click on the shutdown option.
    2. Un-install all your Oracle products if possible. Use universal installer to do that. Ignore this step if you dont have universal installer on your machine.
    3. In regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE.
    4. Delete the ORACLE key.
    5. Edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and remove your %ORACLE_HOME%\bin and JRE paths from the path setting.
    6. From the Windows Explorer (or from the command prompt), delete the Oracle directory (Oracle Base).
    7. Delete <system_drive>:\Program Files\Oracle (from the Windows NT Explorer or from the command prompt).
    8. Delete Icons from <system_drive>: \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Oracle - <HOME> and <system_drive>:\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\Oracle Installation Products. Where <HOME> is the previous HOME name.
    9. Reboot your computer.
    On Windows NT:
    1. Ensure you are logged in as a user with Administrator privileges.
    2. Stop all Oracle Services through Control Panel Services. Use universal installer to un-install your Oracle products. Ignore un-install if you dont have universal installer on your machine.
    3. Using regedit (at the command prompt, type regedit), go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE and delete the ORACLE key.
    4. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services, and remove all keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services that begin with ORACLE.
    5. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application, and remove all keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application that begin with ORACLE.
    6. Close regedit.
    7. From the Control Panel, open System.
    8. If JRE was installed by Oracle, remove the %ORACLE_HOME%\BIN path and the JRE path. For example, you may see a path similar to this one: C:\ORACLE\ORAxx\BIN;G: \Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\bin. Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Environment tab. Click on the system variable path and modify the path.
    9. Delete Icons from <system_drive>:\Winnt\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Oracle - <HOME> and <system_drive>:\Winnt\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Oracle Installation Products. Where <HOME> is the previous HOME name.
    10. Delete <system_drive>:\Program Files\Oracle (from the Windows NT Explorer or from the command prompt).
    11. Reboot your computer.
    12. Delete all ORACLE_BASE directories (You can find the Oracle homes listed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\ORACLE_HOMES).

    Any platform that uses the Intel Pentium 4 processor, with the
    Sun JRE
    and Symmantec JIT will encounter this problem. Windows NT,
    Windows 2000
    and NetWare platforms are confirmed to be affected.
    Description
    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    When installing Oracle Products with the Oracle Universal
    Installer (8.1.x)
    on machines that use the Sun JRE and Symmantec JIT, the
    installer hangs.
    Specifically for the Windows platform, the following version
    of the Symmantec
    JIT or earlier will encounter the failure:
    Symantec Java! JustInTime Compiler Version 3.10.107 for JDK
    1.2.
    Details regarding this issue can be found at:
    http://developer.intel.com/design/processor/future/manuals/knowni ssue.htm
    How to determine if you have Symmantec Java for JDK 1.2:
    1. Select the file "symcjit.dll" and right click on it.
    2. Select Properties, then the Version tab.
    3. Under Microsoft Windows*, the properties of the DLL are:
    "Symantec Java! JustInTime Compiler Version 3.10.107 for
    JDK 1.2 Copyright (C)
    1996-99 Symantec Corporation Dynamic Link Library file".
    DLLs older than this will also not work. "
    Likelihood of Occurrence
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Any platform that uses the Intel Pentium 4 processor, with the
    Sun JRE
    and Symmantec JIT will encounter this problem. Windows NT,
    Windows 2000 and NetWare platforms are confirmed to be
    affected.
    Possible Symptoms
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The failure typically is that the affected application simply
    terminates.
    Workaround
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    Not only will OUI be affected by this bug, most of the
    post-install
    configuration tools will also be affected. Running these
    tools with "-nojit"
    specified will avoid the hang, but it is not simple to specify
    "-nojit" for
    some of the products.
    The following workaround works for the Windows operating
    system:
    a. Copy only the install directory from the CD to the hard
    disk ,say, e:\temp.
    b. Open oraparam.ini and make the following modifications
    (Assuming CD
    drive is f:)
    * Change the "SOURCE=" line to use the full path to the CD
    instead of a
    relative path. (i.e., SOURCE=f:\stage\products.jar)
    * Change the "JRE_LOCATION" line to use the full path to the
    CD instead of a
    relative path. (i.e.,
    JRE_LOCATION=f:\stage\Components\oracle\swd\jre\1.1.7\1\DataFiles
    \Expanded)
    * Change the "OUI_LOCATION" line to use the full path to the
    CD instead of a
    relative path. (i.e.,
    OUI_LOCATION=f:\stage\Components\oracle\swd\oui\1.6.0.9.0\1\DataF
    iles\Expanded
    * Change the "JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS" line to add "-nojit" as the
    first argument.
    (i.e., JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms16m -mx32m)
    ^^^^^^
    * Other entries should remain the same
    c. Launch setup.exe from the temporary location on your hard
    drive (i.e.
    e:\temp\install\win32\setup.exe). This will use the
    modified
    oraparam.ini and pick up the information from the CD since
    the absolute
    locations are specified.
    Choose a Custom install and choose not to create a database
    during the
    install. This way, the Database Configuration Assistant will
    not be launched
    during installation.
    The Net8 Configuration Assistant will still be launched, and
    there is no way
    to suppress it. You will need to kill the Net8 Configuration
    Assistant if it
    hangs due to the bug. The installation still will have been
    successful, and
    you can run the DBCA and NetCA after installation.
    To kill NetCA if it hangs during installation:
    In the "Configuration Tools" window, highlight the "Net8
    Configuration
    Assistant" and click "Stop". If that does not work, look for
    the most recent
    JRE process using the Task Manager, and kill it manually.
    NOTE: the OUI
    itself will also have a jre process. Be sure to kill the one
    with the most
    recent date, which should be the jre process being used for
    Net8CA, not the
    one for OUI itself.
    After killing the configuration tools and continuing through
    the installation
    to the "End of Installation" screen, you should modify the
    configuration tools
    to use "-nojit", then call the appropriate tools from the
    Start Menu.
    Once installation is complete, each of the following files in
    the ORACLE_HOME
    needs to be modified:
    assistants\dbca\dbassist.cl
    assistants\dbma\dbmig.cl
    assistants\ifa\ifa.cl
    bin\elogin.cl
    bin\owm.cl
    ldap\oidamdin\oidadmin.cl
    network\tools\netasst.cl
    network\tools\netca.cl
    owm\install\instelogin.cl
    owm\install\instowm.cl
    Edit the contents of the above files to add "-nojit" as shown
    below:
    Command=("C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\BIN\JREW" -nojit
    -classpath ....
    this is the only thing you need to add --> ^^^^^^
    Then, launch the necessary tools, like Net8CA and DBCA from
    the Start Menu.
    Patches
    ~~~~~~~
    Currently there is not a patched installer available to deal
    with this
    problem, the workaround listed above must be used.
    The solution of making a local copy of the installation CD on
    work to allow installation of Oracle Client 8.1.7 on a Pentium 4
    This function is useful and you can find two file to rename
    Windows ME
    Solution to the installation of Oraclei8.1.7 PE in Windows Millennium
    Oracle does not support installing version 8.1.7 PE into
    Windows Millennium.
    As an unsupported workaround, you may add the following line
    to the [compatibility95] section of win.ini prior to
    installation:
    Jrew=0x00080000
    After setup is complete, Oracle will recommend a reboot.
    There is one additional step necessary prior to reboot;
    Oracle may add a non-standard path statement to the
    autoexec.bat file. Please modify this SET PATH
    statement to use short-filenames if you find a quoted
    LFN string represented as part of the path. You can
    confirm that the path was merged successfully into the
    registry after reboot by examining the PATH variable
    in the registry at
    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Environment
    Symptoms of a missing Oracle path statement in the registry are that Net8 Easy Config will not launch.
    Please note that Oracle does not support the use of this
    product in Windows ME, but have authorized these workarounds
    for testing purposes only.
    Windows XP Home Edition
    Oracle 8i is not certified on windows XP. Even if yes, it must be Windows XP Professional.
    You can install Oracle8i on windows XP Home Edition, try like this:
    1 - Copy your Oracle CD into hard disk in your
    machine. For example Copy from oracle8i CD into C:\Oracle\ ...
    2 - Search the two files named Symcjit.dll on the D drive (where you have copied Oracle8i. You can found them in (example):
    C:\Oracle\stage\Components\oracle.swd.jre\1.1.7.30\1
    \DataFiles\Expanded\jre\win32\bin\symcjit.dll
    3 - Rename this file (Example): symcjit_back.dll (make sure to find two files and rename them)
    4 - Execute the Oracle setup.exe from C:\Oracle\setup.exe
    ===============================================================
    When Oracle 8i dies on the install or the installer hangs, here is the fix for this, make sure that you have Service Pack 2 installed.
    1. \JRE\1.3.1\ From Sun. (You can download java program at http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.1/jre/download-jre-windows.html)
    2. Install the java file.
    There is also a problem in the installation disk.
    3. Make a copy of the Oracle 8i disk on the local hard disk.
    4. Do a search for the two files called symcjit.dll and rename them for example: symcjit.old.
    5. Install Oracle from the win32 directory.
    ================================================================
    PLEASE NOTE THAT ORACLE DOESN'T SUPPORT THE USE OF THOSE PRODUCTS IN WINDOWS ME, BUT HAVE AUTHORIZED THESE WORKAROUNDS FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY
    Best Regards,
    Beau Leo
    Hi,Beau Leo, I am having problem installing Oracle9i Database Rel.2 on my pc.
    I read the suggestion and solution you posted for fixing Oracle 8.1.x installation
    probblem, and since my pc also hung at 48% while installing Oracle 9i software,
    I wonder if the same problem in the Oracle8 Vs.Pentium4 also exists for Oracle9i.
    I have Windows2000,256RAM, Pentium3 1Ghz, and 13.8 free diskspace. But the installation always
    hangs at 48%, my computer will just shut down and restart automatically without
    even showing an error message. I have tried installing the Enterprise edition for 3
    times already but everytime encountered the same problem. I've also tried custom installation
    by selecting not to create database, but it also hung.
    Before I started each installation, I always made sure that my registry and environment
    path are cleared and that all the partially-installed Oracle files are deleted.
    I hope that you or anyone who has a solution for this problem could be so kindly to help me out.
    Thank you in advance.
