Installation of Session Management Edition 9.0

Before in the 8.X you would use the regular CUCM installation CD to install the Session management edition.
now on 9.x i see a new installation CD does anyone know the difference? licensing? new engine?
is it the same installation CUCM for both

You can install 9iAS on W2K professional (that's a certified platform)
Probably this kind of question is better suited to be posted in the 9iAS forum (Oracle Application Server - General

  • CUCM Session Management Edition Configuration Example

    Hello:
    Can somebody help with an example of configuration of the session management edition installed in a CUCM version 9 that has to be the central for dial plans and pstn access, it has work with other CUCMs version 9 (leafs)......i will appreciate if you can send an example or even a configuration guide, deployment guide, etc....
    Best Regards
    Bruno Lara

    You can find a lot of into on it if you search cisco.com
    https://www.ciscolive.com/online/connect/sessionDetail.ww?SESSION_ID=6107&tclass=popup
    Basically think of it as a GK in old terminology, it will aggregate all the dial plans and you will direct anything you don't recognize to it for routing.

  • Editing Session Manager session files

    I am using session manager. Is there a way to edit a session file (xxx.session) to add or delete webpages? I want to edit the session file without using session manager. I am aware that I can deselect webpages when I want to load a session. Session manager does not let you add webpages to a session file unless you load the session and add webpages and then save that session.

    Hello alphy, see if the next is helpful : http://sessionmanager.mozdev.org/documentation.html
    thank you

  • What is new with MAX 2.0 and is it compatible with Session Manager?

    We added non-IVI instrument information in, basically the same structure as for IVI instruments,
    into the ivi.ini file to keep all instrument information in the same place. Using MAX Version 1.1 caused no problems whatsoever and the system worked fine. With the advent of MAX 2.0 you seem to use ivi.ini as well as config.mxs to store instrument information. What we have found now is that given a working ivi.ini file from MAX 1.1, we end up with 2 or 3 copies of all the devices in the IVI Instruments->Devices section! When the duplicate entries are deleted and the application exited, the
    ivi.ini file is updated minus the [Hardware->] sections which contain the resource descriptors that our appl
    ications look for. As an added complication, under MAX 2.1 (From an evaluation of the Switch Executive) It behaves the same, except that it almost always crashes with one of the following errors. 'OLEChannelWnd Fatal Error', or 'Error#26 window.cpp line 10028 Labview Version 6.0.2' Once opened and closed MAX 2.1 will not open again! (Note we do not have LabVIEW on the system.) What is the relationship between the config.mxs and ivi.ini now? Also, your Session Manager application (for use with TestStand) extracts information from ivi.ini and may expect entries to be manually entered into ivi.ini (e.g. NISessionManager_Reset = True) i.e. Is the TestStand Session Manager compatible with MAX 2.0?

    Brian,
    The primary difference between MAX 1.1 and 2.x is that there is a new internal architecture. MAX 2.x synchronizes data between the config.mxs and the ivi.ini. The reason you're having trouble is that user-editing of the ivi.ini file is not supported with MAX 2.x.
    Some better solutions to accomplish what you want:
    1. Do as Mark Ireton suggested in his answer
    2. Use the IVI Run-Time Configuration functions. They will allow you to dynamically configure your Logical Names, Virtual Instruments, Instrument Drivers, and Devices. You can then use your own format for storing and retrieving that information, and use the relevant pieces for each execution. You can find information on these functions in the IVI CVI Help file located in Start >> National I
    nstruments >> IVI Driver Toolset folder. Go to the chapter on Run-time Initialization Configuration.
    I strongly suggest #2, because those functions will continue to be supported in the future, while other mechanisms may not be.

    Dear Avi Miller,
    I have successfully installed both of servers (VM Server 3.0.2 & VM Manager 3.0.2) as below
    + VM Server 3.0.2 on Dell PowerEdge 1950
    + VM Manager 3.0.2 in OEL 6.1 on Sun Fire X4100M2 Server
    Refer to Oracle VM Server 3.0 Document, they recommend to do Discover Oracle VM Servers to VM Manager first of all step then do anything else like Creating a Server Pool so I try to do Discover Oracle VM Servers in many times but still not success.
    What I try to do Discover Oracle Servers as below:
    After I install both already I start to Discover Oracle VM quickly
    1. Log into Oracle VM Manager
    2. Select the Hardware view.
    3. Select Discover from the Actions menu. The Discover Servers dialog box is displayed.
    4. Enter information about the Oracle VM Server(s) to be discovered.
    5. Specify an IP Address (or rang): IP_of VM Server and Click Add
    6. Put password of VM Server Agent
    7. Click OK
    Wait a minute the Status of VM Manager show fail and when I click Detail it show as below:

  • Firefox 5 on Win7: All my plugin buttons have gone from the toolbar. They are not in the customise pane. Session manager offers the correct sessions but opens with last session instead. I've re-installed % and reset toolbars. Help!

    Win 7
    Firefox 5
    Problem with high memory use.
    restarted
    Plugin buttons gone from toolbar/
    Missing plugins still show in plugin manager but buttons missing from toolbar add buttons pane.
    Tried reset toolbars - no difference.
    Tried re-instal of Firefox 5 - no difference except:
    Session manager offers correct session on startup but starts with last session

    In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
    *do not clear the Browsing History
    *Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/remove-browsing-search-and-download-history
    Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
    You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
    *Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Multiple_profile_files_created
    Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

  • Solaris 10 gnome session manager crashes on login

    There are two Solaris 10 servers at work that I cannot log into. At the login screen I choose Options --> Session --> Java Desktop System, Release 3
    and then try to log in. I get the following error message:
    "The GNOME session manager (process XXXXX) has crashed due to a fatal error. (Segmentation Fault). When you close this dialog, all applications will close and your session will exit. Please save all your files before closing this dialog."
    I was able to find one post on this error using google. It said that the user solved this problem by editing the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable by moving /usr/local/lib to the beginning of the line. This didn't fix my problem. I logged in via ssh and double checked that the LD_LIBRARY_PATH change had saved.
    Other people can log into the server just fine. Just not me. I even completely wiped my home directory. Anybody know where I can find a fix for this?

    Just discovered that if one of the working users logs completely out, they cannot log back in. So this error affects everybody.

  • How to permanently turn off the Session Management alert

    Hello,
    I have a certain iView that is working through https.
    Whenever I go to this iView I receive this pop up:
    Session Management will not work!
    You can turn off this alert inside 'Support Desk' -> 'SAP Application'
    I am turning this alert off and I don't see it anymore but after we are doing a server restart it is turned on again and again I need to turn it off.
    How can I turn this alert off permanently, even after a server restart?

    yes its all a bit strange isnt it ...... the AlertSessionManagementMismatch appears to be runtime in nature - in that if you disable the session management alerting using the support desk approach - this value becomes false.  Yet a restart doesnt keep it at false.
    What I discovered is - IGNORE what you see when you edit the service - change it physically to FALSE (even if it says false) and save it. This will persist it at the next restart.

  • Plugin based Web Service with session management

    I am trying to make a web service in java with jax-ws that should support extensions to the service without rebuilding the project. I thought it might be possible to make a standard web service and the let each plugin create their own service, making the client side plugin point to both the standard service and the plugin specific one. This way I could have user management and such in the standard service and the more plugin specific one in an other service. The problem is though, how do I make a common session for all the services? All services are running at the same server and on the same domain name.
    I checked the HTTP headers and found out that the JSESSIONID was changing when I created a new port on the client side. I was trying to implement a SOAPHandler to edit the cookie in the HTTP header, hoping that this will lead to the same session across the services. But found it hard. It was no problem reading the "Set-cookie" header, setting the cookie on the new requests was harder, as the CookieJar object seems to be internal [1]. And the MessageContext.HTTP_REQUEST_HEADERS wasn't created at the time my handlers run. Is there an easy solution to this?
    I am not sure if my idea is a good solution to the main problem, and all other ideas are more than welcome. I hope it is possible to extend the features of my server without rebuilding the project. If anything is unclear, feel free to ask :)

    Could you explain plug in scenario with one example?Ok. We have not chosen exactly how to do this, but the idea is that someone may be able to extend the functionality of our server without rebuilding the project. We thought of something like a jar file with a implementation of some abstract classes. It should at least only be necessary to redeploy the project into the web container. The problem is; how do we let the plugins extend our web interface? One solution we thought of was to let each plugin have it's own service and dynamicly link to the plugin services from the main service that we provide as standard in our server. This way we may have some kind of plugin support on the clients as well, making the client side plugins know what kind of service it needs on the server side and thus extending the functionality all together.
    Hope that explains our scenario. Feel free to comment and add new ideas :)
    Regarding session management, its not advisable to manage the session in web services since that way it will become non interoperable.The documentation we found regarding sessions and jax-ws was all doing sessions with HTTPSessions, and to let the web container handle that.
    On the server side
        @Resource
        private WebServiceContext wsContext;
        private HttpSession getSession() {
            MessageContext mc = wsContext.getMessageContext();
            return ((javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest)mc.get(MessageContext.SERVLET_REQUEST)).getSession();
        HttpSession session = getSession();
        session.setAttribute("User", user);On the client side
    ((BindingProvider)port).getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.SESSION_MAINTAIN_PROPERTY,true);Do you have other standard options for us on how to do session management? All ideas are more than welcome

  • What's the role of jsessionids in ADF session management?

    Hi all,
    I'm fairly new to ADF and I've had a client ask me if ADF is using jsessionid consistently for sessionization.
    From a quick google search it sounds like all J2EE applications will be using jsessionids as part of their session management, and it doesn't look too difficult to access this information programmatically. Can anyone elaborate for me on what exactly jessionids are and whether they are guaranteed to exist if a session of an ADF application has been instantiated? Basically I think I know the answer to my client's question is yes, but can anyone help me understand the role of jsessionids in ADF apps and other J2EE apps?

    Hi.
    This is a basic behavior in all Java application servers, as it is mandated by the Java Enterprise Edition specification. The ID is used to match the HTTP request to its session object. Basically, the web container will add jsessionid to the URL when the session id cannot be saved in a cookie. This behavior can also be enforced through settings in weblogic.xml, for example, if you are using WLS.
    ADF is built on the top of JEE; consequently, it uses jsessionid in exactly the same way as any other Java application.
    Best Regards,
    Frédéric.

  • Stellent Site Studio Website Session Management

    Hi,
    We are using Stellent Content Server 7.5.2, as well as the corresponding Site Studio Designer/Contributor component. I heard that there is no session management capability via Site Studio. In other words, we cannot_ retrieve user information from an outside source such as LDAP, upon first entry to the website, and maintain that information in session variables during the entire session that the user remains on the site.
    Is this true? And, if so, has anyone found a work around to this issue?
    Thanks in advance for any input.
    Elle

    Those options aren't available from the Manage Site page, they are only available in the Designer IDE.
    If you want those options to automatically apply you can create your own "Manage Site" page by dropping the SiteStudioManager fragment onto a page in your website. Then link the fragment to a Manager Settings file. Edit the Manager Settings so that it applies the defaults & settings you require.
    Alternatively a "Design" mode is available on the website. It's activated in the Designer IDE site Properties - specify Design Mode Role. When these users go into Contribution Mode they can switch to Design Mode.

    JDeveloper/ADF 11g update 2
    I am finding such solution that how can I manage editable items by any action listener against button/link/object.
    Details:_
    Suppose I have a entry form of EMP tables' VO and want to show as read only during form load but when I will enter/click a edit button(manually created) then all items will be editable to be edited. and after submit and commit records then all items will be appear as like read only.
    I want to manage editable and read only by backing class/ action listener of edit button(manually created) . Is it possible ? if possible please give me a such solution.
    Please help me.

    Ok here you go:
    Bean code (put this bean in session or page flow scope): package demo.clickenable;
    import javax.faces.event.ActionEvent;
    import oracle.adf.view.rich.component.rich.input.RichInputText;
    public class ClickEnableBean
        Boolean enable = Boolean.TRUE;
        public ClickEnableBean()
        public void setEnable(Boolean aEnable)
            this.enable = aEnable;
        public Boolean getEnable()
            return enable;
        public void flipEnable(ActionEvent actionEvent)
            if (getEnable().booleanValue())
                setEnable(Boolean.FALSE);
            else
                setEnable(Boolean.TRUE);
    }JSPX page:<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" version="2.1"
              xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
              xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">
      <jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"/>
      <f:view>
        <af:document>
          <af:form>
            <af:panelGroupLayout layout="vertical">
              <af:panelGroupLayout partialTriggers="bte">
                <af:inputText label="Label 1" disabled="#{ClickEnable.enable}"/>
                <af:inputText label="Label 2" disabled="#{ClickEnable.enable}"/>
                <af:inputText label="Label 3" disabled="#{ClickEnable.enable}"/>
              </af:panelGroupLayout>
              <af:panelGroupLayout>
                <af:commandButton text="#{ClickEnable.enable ? 'Click to enable' : ' Click to disable'}" actionListener="#{ClickEnable.flipEnable}"
                                  id="bte" partialSubmit="true" partialTriggers="bte"/>
              </af:panelGroupLayout>
            </af:panelGroupLayout>
          </af:form>
        </af:document>
      </f:view>
    </jsp:root>The real work is done by a partial trigger on the button (id=bte). This trigger is used to update the panelGroupLayout holding the input text fields which are enabled/disabled via the boolean value of the bean. Each click on the button toggles the boolean value and updates the page.

  • XFDesktop not running, FAILED TO CONNECT TO SESSION MANAGER [SOLVED]

    Hi all, new to the arch forums, I've recently installed arch with xfce4, and I've been having trouble changing the desktop background as the GUI for it will flash up then close instantly. I tried to reload xfdesktop with xfdesktop --reload, this returns "xfdesktop is not running". Running $ sudo xfdesktop returns:
    (xfdesktop:5211): GLib-WARNING **: (gerror.c:381):g_error_new_valist: runtime check failed: (domain != 0)
    Failed to connect to session manager: Failed to connect to the session manager: SESSION_MANAGER environment variable not defined
    xfdesktop: cairo-scaled-font.c:459: _cairo_scaled_glyph_page_destroy: Assertion `!scaled_font->cache_frozen' failed.
    Also, when I look in xfce4-session-settings, all xfce applications are running but xfdesktop isn't there.
    Thanks in advance

    Prepending sudo to random commands will eventually break your system.  Don't do it.
    In this case it simply prevents it from working as the session manager is running for your user not for the root user, so this command has nothing to connect to.  Remove 'sudo'.
    If I run just $ xfdesktop I then get the same error
    (xfdesktop:2166): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_value_get_uint: assertion 'G_VALUE_HOLDS_UINT (value)' failed
    xfdesktop: cairo-scaled-font.c:459: _cairo_scaled_glyph_page_destroy: Assertion `!scaled_font->cache_frozen' failed.
    Aborted (core dumped)

  • How to implement the Session ManageMent in OracleADF .

    Hi I am New to ADF, In my application i have requirement like, I Have a JSPX login page,which contain 4 taskflows as a regions(like AddEmp,DeleteEmp,Create New Dept,Delete Emp), based on the type of user login,i want give different responsibilities(ADF Security, for example a normal employe cant Edit the Other Employe information only HR can do the Edit ), for those who logged in i want to use Session.
    Every Time When the user Request the resource it has to check for the session validation.
    i know in JEE How to implement Sessions but i don't know in ADF .
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hi,
    have a look here http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/AdfSecurity/AdfSecurity.html
    Its a video about ADF Security that explains how you can use custom Resource Permissions for any kind of user authorization, plus the on-board page and task flow permission. Note that the session has nothing to do with authorization. All a session can be is authenticated after which users are associated with enterprise roles, which then are mapped to permissions (through application roles in ADF Security). So session management is not what you are looking for in this case.
