Installation of SP3 for WLS 6.1 fails on BEA_HOME

Hi,
I can't seem to install the service pack on an HP-UX 11.
I did have the BEA_HOME and WL_HOME environment variables or run the setEnv.sh,
but the installation doesn't seem to pick up the BEA_HOME directory. I tried
even with BEAHOME and all, but no success so far.
Output attached.
Thanks for any help, Stefaan.

You do not seem to have WebLogic Server 6.1
installed for BEAHOME .
Exiting the Service Pack 3 installer...:

Please make sure you have a $HOME/bea directory with a "beahomelist"
file in it.
Then look for a registry.xml file in the same directory as the
license.bea file and see if the host name and InstallDir match your
environment. Those are the most common gotchya's.

  • Installation Grid Infrastructure for RAC using UDEV fail

    Hi experts,
I want to install RAC for testing using UDEV, VirtualBox and Linux 5.8 64 bit.
I fail at installation Grid Infrastructure(ASM). At the Step 5 of 9 - Create ASM Disk Group, the installer don't display any disk to create ASM diskgroup.
I think UDEV have been configed correctly. The following are the UDEV configuration:
    "/etc/scsi_id.config"
    vendor="ATA",options=-p 0x80
    options=-g"/etc/udev/rules.d/99-oracle-asmdevices.rules"
    KERNEL=="sd?1", BUS=="scsi", PROGRAM=="/sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/$parent", RESULT=="SATA_VBOX_HARDDISK_VBb1141d78-3196a201_", NAME="asm-disk1", OWNER="oracle", GROUP="dba", MODE="0660"
    KERNEL=="sd?1", BUS=="scsi", PROGRAM=="/sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/$parent", RESULT=="SATA_VBOX_HARDDISK_VB748d0eea-d6385be2_", NAME="asm-disk2", OWNER="oracle", GROUP="dba", MODE="0660"ls -al /dev/asm-disk*
    brw-rw---- 1 oracle dba 8, 17 Mar 30 21:44 /dev/asm-disk1
    brw-rw---- 1 oracle dba 8, 33 Mar 30 21:44 /dev/asm-disk2Any sugestion for me? Please help...
    Thanks and best regards,
    Hai Mai.

    Try this one.
    1. Find the WWID of the disk
    # /sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/sdb
SATA_VBOX_HARDDISK_VBbb8af1a8-4d4db09b_ Here we got an WWID of 'SATA_VBOX_HARDDISK_VBbb8af1a8-4d4db09b_'.
    2. Create an custom UDEV rule
Create a new rule under /etc/udev/rules.d/, for example, /etc/udev/rules.d/99-oracle.rules.
Ensure the file name lists after the default 50-xxx.rules file. The filename must end in ".rules" to be recognized.
    KERNEL=="sd*1", BUS=="scsi", PROGRAM=="/sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/%P", RESULT=="SATA_VBOX_HARDDISK_VBbb8af1a8-4d4db09b_", RUN+="/bin/raw /dev/raw/raw1 %N"
    KERNEL=="sd*2", BUS=="scsi", PROGRAM=="/sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/%P", RESULT=="SATA_VBOX_HARDDISK_VBbb8af1a8-4d4db09b_", RUN+="/bin/raw /dev/raw/raw2 %N"
    KERNEL=="sd*3", BUS=="scsi", PROGRAM=="/sbin/scsi_id -g -u -s /block/%P", RESULT=="SATA_VBOX_HARDDISK_VBbb8af1a8-4d4db09b_", RUN+="/bin/raw /dev/raw/raw3 %N"
ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="raw*", OWNER="oracle", GROUP="oinstall", MODE="0664"The RESULT filed was the WWID of your hard disk found in step 1.
Please also subsititue the value of 'OWNER', 'GROUP', and 'MODE' to your actual one.
    3. Restart the UDEV service
    # /sbin/start_udev And then, you are free to use /dev/raw/raw1, /dev/raw/raw2, and /dev/raw/raw3 as your RAC OCR and Voting Devices.
    Thanks,

  • Installation JDK Questions for WLS 12c

I was trying a demo install of WLS12c 12.1.2 and curious on the JDK/Jrockit part of the cert matrix (below)....can I successfully install with just Jrockit 28.2.5?  Or does the install (and/or admin console) acutally need an actual JDK, not Jrockit to install?  Although I don't see it in the matrix below, I assume all the managed servers will work and be certified on JRockit28.2.5?   Thanks!

You can find the version by using: java -version (on the command-line).
"I pointed the 12c install to my 28.2.5 Jrockit and it installed fine pointed to that"
When you can do that, you are probably using WebLogic 12.1.1 (that still supports Java SE6). In 12.1.2 you would have a problem as the install checks for Java version (which in this case Java SE7).
"So should I bind all my managed servers to the JDK7 rather than the 28.2.5 JRockit?"
Just use one Java Virtual Machine in your domain (otherwise you will probably run into problems, as the native libraries of the JVM's are different).
When you are using WebLogic 12.1.1 you can just keep using JRockit. But in this case copy the endorsed jars, i.e.,
    copy_endorse_jars() {
      echo 'COPY ENDORSE JARS'
      mkdir -p ${JAVA_HOME}/jre/lib/endorsed
      cp ${WEBLOGIC_HOME}/endorsed/*.jar ${JAVA_HOME}/jre/lib/endorsed

  • Installation of Safari for Windows 5.1.7 fails

I have been setting up a new PC with Windows 7 (64-bit Home Premium). I have gotten QuickTime (32-bit) 7.7.3 and iTunes (64-bit) 10.6.3.25 installed apparently successfully (at least, iTunes works). But the Safari for Windows 5.1.7 installer gives the error message "This installer is intended for 32-bit versions of Windows.  Please obtain the 64-bit installer from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/bonjourforwindows.html." and will not finish. I downloaded and apparently successfully installed Bonjour Print Services for Windows 2.0.2, but Safari still will not install. Does anyone have advice about how to get past that error?

For anybody following the question posted here in this Community: I also posted my question in a different Community, where I received one reply and have posted updates:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20534176#20534176
Nothing I have done has been successful, however, so Safari 5.1.7 for Windows could not be installed.

  • How do I reinstall SP3 for Exchange 2010?

    Hello,
I am having some Exchange 2010 issues and am wanting to reinstall SP3, but when I try, I get an error:
    Some controls aren't valid:
Please select at least one server role to install.
All of the roles have been installed and I cannot even uninstall a role (greyed out)
I have version 14.3.132.002 of the SP.
    Please advise.
    Have a great day,
    Don

I had the same exact error when running "setup.com /mode:upgrade" to re-install Exchange 2010 SP3.
We never did have Unified Communications installed on our server - but when running the "setup.com /mode:upgrade" it will try to install UC - and fail with the error message that it could not find the file "UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi"
The answer to this is in the path, and here is the 2nd bug for re-installing Exchange 2010 SP3:
I had extracted my Exchange SP3 files to C:\Temp\Exchange2010SP3,  I browsed to the \en folder and sure enough, there was the file "UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi"  the full path to the file was
C:\Temp\Exchange2010SP3\en\UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi - however, the path in the error message stated it was looking for the file in a completely different path:
    C:\Users\administrator.IMA\Desktop\SP3\en\UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi
The solution was to create a folder on the desktop called SP3, copy the contents of C:\temp\Exchange2010SP3 to the SP3 folder on the desktop, and then the installer will find the UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi file that it is looking for.
In your specific case - your installer was looking for the file in 'D:\Tools\Exchange 2010\SP3\en\UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi' - which I'll bet was not the file path you were using to reinstall Exchange 2010 SP3.
    My exact error message:
    Unified Messaging Role: Failed
    Error:
    The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
    install-MsiPackage -PackagePath $RolePackagePath -LogFile $RoleLogFilePath -UpdatesDir $RoleUpdatesDir -PropertyValues ("INSTALLDIR=`"" + $RoleInstallPath + "`" ESE=1");
" was run: "Couldn't open package 'C:\Users\administrator.IMA\Desktop\SP3\en\UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi'. This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package. Error code is 1619.".

web application works fine on Dev but "Load report failed" when deployed to another server (Win2003 or Win2008r2 (fresh installs); latest CR redistributables; beta never existed on these servers).
useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy set and full access (all the accounts and even to Everyone group now) granter to the Windows/Temp folder (temp report file is created under windows/temp).
the Process Monitor show no "failed" access or something (worst is Name not Found)
any suggestions where to look next?
and just in case the exception (inner for the "load report failed"): "Unsupported Operation. A document processed by the JRC engine cannot be opened in the C++ stack.  clientdoc.dll"

    finally identified where problem is:
    it happens if:
    1. project is Web Site
    2. you are trying to run web application from the "Published" code (all the checkboxes are unticked in the Publich dialog)
    3. code for the Report class is under App_Code folder
    4. report file (RPT) in subfolder, i.e. not under root
P.S.: also: if embedRptInResource set to true, ResourceName from the class used to reference RPT file is ignored, i.e. RPT file generates code itself. So, the embedRptInResource must be set to false if you want to avoid such case
In my case i just get rid of Report classes and moved RPT files into the App_Code folder (in one of subfolder under App_Code; and embedRptInResource=true).
So, either keep everything under root or move RPT files into App_Code
Btw, useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy is not required, i.e. in my case everything works just fine without it (.Net 4).

In Windows Event long I can see the following events logged:
    Event 3002, Port Map:
Windows(R) failed a request to register RPC Port Mapper on TCP port 111.  RPC Port Mapper cannot start.
Network File System (NFS) clients use RPC Port Mapper (also known as Portmap and Rpcbind) to discover NFS protocols on remote servers.  Without RPC Port Mapper, Server for NFS
cannot start and NFS clients cannot access files on this server.
Verify that no other software is registered on TCP port 111, then start Server for NFS manually (which will also start RPC Port Mapper).
    Event 7000, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service failed to start due to the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Event 7001, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS Driver service depends on the Server for NFS Open RPC (ONCRPC) Portmapper service which failed to start because of the following error:
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
    Event 7001, Service Control Manager:
The Server for NFS service depends on the Server for NFS Driver service which failed to start because of the following error:
The dependency service or group failed to start.
Based on a technet forum I have already checked and made sure there is no other service running on port 111 (command used is netstat -a -b -o).
    Dependent Service Status:
During the installation process “Client for NFS” seems to have gone well and the service started successfully. But the “Server for NFS” failed, when checked for the status of the dependent process “portmap” service failed to start with the WIN32_EXIT_CODE
“31 (0x1f)”. Please find below the query result.

As the EXIT CODE is 31 ( A device attached to the system is not functioning), I have checked device manager and made sure there is no yellow warning shown against any hardware device. Further I am not sure how to proceed and debug this issue.
Please let me know if you have any suggestion on how debug this issue further.
    Thanks

My solution was to run netstat -ano to identify what process was running on port TCP/UDP :111, then with the command tasklist I got PID matching with the task name. Once identified I stopped the process, rebooted and installed
the NFS service. On top of that, before installing NFS services I disabled firewall and antivirus. It worked fine for me. I hope this will be usefull for you. By the way, don't forget to enable all process back!
    Have a good one!

  • IPhone 4 AirPrint printing issue (AirPrint Installer 1.3 for Windows)

I have been trying to get AirPrint working on my iPhone 4 (CDMA/Verizon) for a while now without success
I know that the AirPrint feature is designed to work with AirPrint compatible HP WiFi printers (as Apple dropped support for OS X), though I have no plans on buying a new printer when I have 2 perfectly fine printers shared on the network, let alone one specifically designed to work with AirPrint
I have tried out AirPrint Installer 1.3 for Windows (running on WinXP MCE 2005), but can't seem to get it to work properly
After installing AirPrint Installer, I was able to see one printer from the iPhone (from a laser printer shared from another computer on the network), and was able to send a print command from the iPhone to the XP MCE computer, but I kept getting "Error-Printing" from the print que (on XP MCE)
After sharing a printer connected locally (via USB), I was able to print from my iPhone once successfully, but nothing from the iPhone would show up in the que on XP MCE since
Since then I have also shared the Microsoft XPS Document Writer (saves "printed" documents to an XPS file) as a way to tinker around with AirPrint without wasting paper, ink, and/or toner, and was unable to print from it
Now whenever I attempt to print from my iPhone, I have the option of 3 printers, the shared laser on a different computer on the network, the local inkjet via USB, and the Microsoft XPS Document Writer, selecting any of them will then give me a message with an image of a piece of doggy eared paper saying "Printing to "<Printer Name>" Sending to Printer" as if it's about to print, but there is no change on XP MCE, the print cue shows nothing, and nothing prints and I don't get a popup asking where I would like to save (when using the XPS Document Writer), yet I can print fine from the computer itself
Also, I have noticed that after a while, the printers will disappear from the list (on the iPhone) one by one, and I have to constantly uninstall and reinstall AirPrint Installer, only for it to not work again
Am I doing something wrong? I have updated iTunes, I don't have a software firewall, and I am pretty sure I have installed AirPrint Installer 1.3 correctly
I have also tried using AirPrint Activator and AirPrint Hacktivator on my MBA, but I only have Leopard on it (haven't upgraded to Snow Leopard yet, and may not for a while), so AirPrint Hacktivator will close unexpectedly (constantly), and AirPrint Activator gives me an error saying I need at least Snow Leopard, so I would really appreciate it if I could get AirPrint Installer 1.3 to work

I have been having exactly the same problem as Mike's original problem as well as this problem as well. Originally, i couldn't get the iphone to see all my shared printers. I have an Epson RX580 ink jet all in one printer and a HP P1006 laser jet printer. They are both shared printers. Both are able to be printed to from other wired and wireless computers in my network. They are both showing as ready when I look at them in the printer/fax window.
I'm using Window's XP SP3 with all the latest updates. I originally down loaded a german version of this AirPrint Installer 1.3. It didn't have all the bells this version does. After DL'ing this version AirPrint Installer 1.3, My Verizon Iphone 4 with 4.2 OS could see the printers on my network.
When I try to print an email or picture. I takes me to the screen on the iphone to choose the printer I want to use. When I choose either printer and click the "Print" button, it takes me to a screen that says "Communicating with Printer" with an image of a page of paper with the edge turned down. After about 30-45 seconds the screen reverts back to the email or picture. After another min or so, a message will pop up saying that the printer is offline with one button that says cancel and another button that says continue.
If I look at the print que for the printers, there is nothing in the que, but when I high light the printer in the printer/fax window some extra options become available that aren't there if there are really no jobs in the cue. One of the options on the left is the option to cancell all print jobs. When I click this, the computer looks like it does something cause the screen kind of flickers and then the option dissappears.
I would really like to be able to print pic's straight from my iphone and would love to get this working. Would really appreciate any help with this issue.

  • The deployment process seems to die or get stuck, iAS 6 SP3 for Solaris 8?

When I deploy my application in iAS 6 SP3 for Solaris 8 the deployment process seems to die or get stuck. In the shell window i get the messages
iasdeploy for iPlanet Application Server 6.0 SP3
Connected to LDAP server on sstu15.auto.com port 389
iPlanet Application Server is running in international mode

    sstu15:10 kas> deployment action ''J2EEInstallEar'' (/u02/home/iplanet/JAR/SSS.ear) running.
After this nothing happens for a really long time.
When starting the deployment I get in the beginning of kas.log two entries
    ADMIN-168: kas> deployment get log ''J2EEInstallEar''
    GDS-007: finished a registry load
but suddenly the second line disappears and the only message I get is the first entry. I need to break the deployment process and kill the processes manually.
When starting the application server I get two error messages:

I think all processes starts OK, I get one for .kas and one for kas, one for .kxs and one for kxs and finally one for .kjs and one for kjs.
Is someone familiar with this/these problem(s)?

It seems you are deploying a very big application. Try to deploy this application with following command
    j2eeappreg <filename>
It should work fine. It was a bug with iasdeploy command in iAS SP3 which had been fixed in iAS SP4.

  • HANA on SLES 11 SP3 for SAP software selection

    Hi,
We are planning to install HANA SPS8 on a Vitual Machine with SLES 11 SP3 for SAP.
ABAP 7.4 and HANA on the Same virtual Machine
During the Installation of SUSE in the software selection screen, we found the options as
    - SAP Netweaver Server Base
    - SAP HANA Server Base
We would like to know, whether we have to select these options for the SUSE Installation or only
SAP Application Server Base would be enough.
    Thanks,
    Regards

    Hi,
Tuxedo 10.0 extended support ends in September of this year.  If you are making the move from 32 bit versions to 64 bit versions you should definitely move to newer versions of Tuxedo.  Tuxedo 12.1.1 has been out nearly three years at this point and is certified for Suse Linux 11 64 bit.  Is there a reason you are staying on such an old version of Tuxedo while upgrading the OS?

  • Authentication problem by external ldap server for WLS 7.0

    Hi all,
I have configured iPlanet directory Server to serve as authentication security
provider for WLS 7.0.While doing so I have created a Test security realm and made
it as default.I have also configured the other default settings for the remaining
    security providers for the realm.
Now, while I start the WLS with the default username and password, boot-error

I have tried to remove the problem since last 4 days but all in fiasco.

Thanks Vijay - it has worked by creating the Administrator group in LDAP but Weblogic
documentation also states the creation of any group in Ldap server with the boot
username and pwd and then adding the group in the admin role of WLS7.0 - but this
    did not work.
If there is any info regarding the same - pl. do let me know

    Ritwik,
I think WebLogic 7 requires a group called "Administrators" in the LDAP
    server
and requires an user to be added to that group. I have this working in
    one of
my projects. The group really doesnt need to be an LDAP administrative
    group.
Can you provide any additional information. I might be able to help since
    I got
this working only a coupla days back.

During the installation of my Adobe Premiere Elements 12, I always receive an error message (during the processing of linked components) which says:" During the installation an error has occured."
I have purchased Adobe Premiere Elements online and use the appropriate key provided by the retailer.
My Adobe Premiere Elements 10 works fine though but I would rather like to get my new program going.
I have tried all Adobe error correction proposels already but unfortunately in vain.
    Any suggestions how to proceed?

Thanks for your fast reply. I have already solved the problem and everything works fine.
