Installation of Supporting objects fails

I have upgraded successfully to APEX 3.1. I can successfully import packaged applications.
Now when I try to import this particular application from packaged applications named discussion_forum_installer_0.92.sql, it successfully
imports the first step, that is importing the definations.
but when I move on to the next step, i.e install the supporting objects, I get the following error message
The following prerequisite checks failed. Installation of this application's supporting objects cannot continue until these
issues are resolved.
To continue installation after addressing the errors, navigate to the Supporting Object Definitions of this application and
click INSTALL in the Supporting Objects Installation section.
Alternatively, you can deinstall the application definition and reinstall after resolving these issues.
Available Space in KB: 2,624
I even tried to install the supporting objects seperately, still the same problem exists.
Please help!!

I resolved this issue by setting the shared_pool_size to 100M. Previously it was 84M (default, I guess). This was mentioned as one of the pre-steps before installing APEX. But the install went well, just this packaged application was giving errors. Once I increased the size of shared_pool_size, life was good.
Just answering if someone else ran into such issues

  • Getting message "Installation of support software ...

    Hello,
I have successfully installed OviSuite and connected Nokia 5230. I can see status of the memory, so I believe, that connection is OK.
But OviSuite tries to install some software to the phone and I see errorr message in the phone, stating "Certificate maz not be valid, is expired or phone s setting of the date is incorrect. Phone date is 5.1.2010. Subsequently I get Installation of support software failed in OviSuite.
    What should I do????
Thank you for help and support.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I think, there should not be any problem in the working of the application.. You may face the Certificate Error problem only if you try to install the application again after that period..but for that also there is a work around.. Change the phone date to a backward date.. Install the application and change back to the correct date..

  • How to edit the installation scripts in the supporting objects

I wanted to update one of the installation scripts in the supporting objects. I clicked into that script and use the "script editor" tab. After editing the script, I clicked "Apply Changes" button. It redirected me to the upper level of the page. When I reopen the script, the content of this script is messed up and has the content of another script, not what I have changed. What could happen with it? There is one case that the script was all wiped out!
One general question, how can I easily update the install scripts and reload it without export and import the whole application? or Can I?
    Thanks
    Fengting

    Fengting,
I am not sure what causes this, but I have had the same issue with shared components >> report queries. Sometimes if you have multiple report queries it becomes impossible to edit any of them. If I remember correctly I tried using a different browser and everything seemed to work ok. I was using Firefox when I was having the issue.
Sorry this is not an answer, but I feel your pain!

  • Installation Succeeded but Patch Failed. Download Error Support (49)

Installation Succeeded but Patch Failed. Download Error contact Support (49)

i have the exact error. I have CC for Photographer for quite some times now and it updates on and off normally until perhaps a couple of month ago. Lr updated ok. ACR updated ok. But Ps ended up with such error. I uninstall it and tried again, same error. There was one hit that mention about disabling McAfee anti-virus. Since my machine is managed by my company, I can only disable it by booting Windows (Win 7 enterprise) in Safe Mode. I did but the same error. Any other suggestion?
By the way, my other machine which I install exactly the same CC applications have no problems at all so I am quite sure it is my company machine that is causing the problem. I just need to figure out what is wrong.

Is there any possibility to get the APP_ID (Application ID) during the installation of the supporting objects?

  • Calling Substitution Strings in Supporting Object Installs

So, for lack of a better way of putting it, I have a need to have user input durring the script install part of the supporting objects. I would like to use the Substitution String prompts but can not figure out where it stores the values durring install. It looks as if the system does not commit it to tbl until after the install scripts are done.
I need to create some views that have a different Databaselink based on site location and want the supporting object install scripts to prompt for the name so I can use it in the install process.
Testing on APEX 4.0.1 Oracle 11g
    Thanks for any help.

K, found something out. It does store it in a page variable P2103_SS_VALUES and can be called out using v('P2103_SS_VALUES') in the install scripts.

  • Supporting objects was not installed successfully from the APEX 3.2 to 4.1

    Hi, gurus:
greetings! I have a question regarding migrating application from 3.2 to 4.1. I need to migrate an application in a APEX 3.2 workspace to a new workspace of APEX 4.1. I exported the application from the APEX 3.2 workspace and imported it again to workspace of APEX 4.1, everything works fine except supporting objects was not installed successfully, and the application cannot show images. Could anyone give me a hint to find the cause and solution?
    Thanks a lot!
    Sam

    Hi, Tony:
Nice to see you again! :) It proved out that was due to the wrong file format, I should choose UNIX file format to export my application from APEX 3.2 workspace instead of choosing DOS file format to export. Though I am still confused, Why this does matter? I used to export and import with random file type, as long as I keep consistency of file type for export and import, it never give me trouble like this.

  • Persistent Installation Error (support files)

I cannot install Snow Leopard. I have researched and tried a lot of different methods. I have gone through the installation over ten times, and nothing works. This is ridiculous. The same disc worked on the same machine a month ago. Snow Leopard was running on the same MacBook, without any problems during the first installation, and now it fails repeatedly. Here's what happened:
I got the "invalid node structure" error and had to erase and zero-out the internal disk. Disk Utility later verified that the disk was fixed, and no further errors were reported. I also used DiskWarrior to verify this, and it also reported no further errors.
I proceeded to install Snow Leopard, but at the "15 minutes remaining" waypoint it stalled with the "Installer could not copy the necessary support files" error message. I repartitioned the drive, ensuring it was Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) with the GUID Partition Table. I got the same error.
I used Disk Utility to verify the installation disc, and it checked out with no errors. The surface is clean with no scratches. This is the same disc I used a month ago, which installed without error, so it's not the disc.
I thought maybe the optical drive was having trouble reading the disc. I got another machine and used Target Disk Mode to install it remotely, but it stalled with the same error at the same waypoint.
I read that RAM could be causing issues. There are 2 DIMMS, so each was removed under two separate installation attempts. The same error.
I used a USB external drive and had Disk Utility make a bootable partition. I then copied the Snow Leopard installation DVD to the partition, and used the USB drive to boot and start the installation. It stalled with the same error at the same waypoint.
I used a Windows Vista installation disc to repartition the hard disk, curious if it would discover errors. I formatted everything to unallocated space. I then used Disk Utility to repartition and zero-out the disk once more, ensuring the Journaled and GUID scheme once more.
It's not the disc. It's not the internal hard disk. It's not the optical drive. It's not the RAM. It's not the USB drive. There are no peripherals connected. They all return the same error at the same point during installation.
I can install Leopard fine. This post is being written on the same machine under Leopard. So there isn't some disk error that the repair utilities aren't reporting. Everything is running smoothly.
I have tried to install Leopard, then upgrade to Snow Leopard, but it stalls and won't finish either. I have tried this route twice, but each time it will stall at the "one minute remaining" waypoint. If I force restart and resume the installation it gives the "support files" error again.
So at this point I have exhausted all the installation methods that I'm aware of. This is so frustrating. I want to figure out why the installation fails. Does anyone know of any other methods? I refuse to accept this cannot work for simply no reason, there has got to be something else wrong. Does anyone have advise?

I have tried to install Leopard, then upgrade to Snow Leopard, but it stalls and won't finish either. I have tried this route twice, but each time it will stall at the "one minute remaining" waypoint.
How long are you letting it go at that point? I just upgraded an old PowerPC machine from Tiger to Leopard here yesterday. Amusingly, the installer jumped from over 3 hours to 11 minutes within a ten minute period. That last 11 minutes took about an hour, with most of that time spent at "one minute remaining." I've never seen such a long minute in my life! But, I just let it go until it finally finished, which it did. I've seen similar behavior in other Apple installers/updaters and would not be surprised to see it in the SL installer.
As to the error message you keep getting, that seems at odds with your assumption that all involved drives/disks are fine. There have been some bad SL disks reported, but since you've installed SL from this disk before, I'd say that's not the problem. That leaves your machine. Somehow, I think that you've got a hardware problem that has cropped up since the last time you installed from this disk on this machine. The fact that the disk checks out with Disk Utility and DiskWarrior may simply mean that the drive is in the early stages of failing. Or it might be some other hardware. Do you have an Apple Store nearby?
I don't think that R C-R's idea about phoning home is correct, as I installed SL while booted from the SL disk. I could be wrong, but I think you would have to manually connect to a wireless network while booted from the install disk, and I did no such thing, which means I was not connected to a network at all when I installed SL. This is not to say that SL doesn't phone home, only that it shouldn't cause a failure if the connection can't be established.

  • "Creation of login object failed" after MAS generation

    Hi everybody,
I am working on CRM Mobile Sales 5.0 SP6. I have performed the initial generation with the .NET Application Studio. It gave me 6 errors and some warnings. Now when I tried to logon my mobile client I 've got following error:
    "Creation of login object failed".
Visual Studio is installed on partition "C:\Program Files\" and Mobile Sales on "D:\SAP\"
Has someone any ideas? Thanks in advance,
    Mirko

    Hi Mirko!
In your app you're calling unknown data structures. While generating the "compiler" read the names and want to create the relevant structures but the necessary data to do this are missing. You have to start fist the client console doing a complete meta data generation. If this runs without error your generation inside the studio will succeed, too.
BTW: In your first posting you've written "D:SAP..." and in your last the error-message was "D:ProgrammeSAP..."...
    Perhaps different settings?
Do you have made already a successful generation with the actual installation?
    Good luck,
    Ingo

  • Supporting Object Install Scripts - populate clob table

    All
Before I delve into exactly how I thought I'd ask the forum if anyone had packaged up an install script to populate a table with a clob column?
I have an app that I am finishing up and the one remaining table has a clob column which obviously doesn't make for simple SQL inserts due to the CLOB type.
    Thanks in advance
    Phil

    Hi Vadimon,
Thanks for reporting this, however I am struggling to reproduce the issue.
I created an application with 2 installation scripts (1 without a condition and 1 with a condition set to NEVER), then imported this into a 4.1 instance installing supporting objects. Here, only the 1 without a condition executed, as expected. I then created 2 upgrade scripts (again 1 without a condition and 1 with a condition set to NEVER), then re-imported this to upgrade the application. Again, only the 1 without a condition executed, as expected.
Would you be able to send me an export of an application where this reproduces, or provide the steps you took to reproduce this?
    Regards,
    Anthony.

  • XL Reporter Error. (Open Workbook) Method '~' of object '~' failed. 64-bits

    Hello, good morning.

I have installed 2007A SP01 PL13 in a 2008Server with SQL2008 but xl reporter not works in the cliente platforms with Windows 7 Prof 64 bits and Office 2010 Profesional installed in 32-bit version:

I put a message to SAP Business One Global Support Centre, but the result is:
"The MS Office 2010 x64 is not supported. Please refer to the supported platforms landing page".
In teh landing page says: " (6) For the time being, the SAP Business One release tracks 2007 and 8.8 only support the 32-bit version of the Microsoft Office 2010 editions."
    ¿Any idea?

  • Cluster Setup Support Rules fails with Warnings

    Hi,
I'm in the process of installing our ECC production server in a clustered environment on windows server 2008 with SQL server 2008 as our database.
The MSCS cluster at the OS level has been configured successfully. When I start the SQL server installation as mentioned in the installation guide, the Setup Support Rules fails with following warnings.
    1. The setup support file prompts me to set the MSDTC service as a clustered one but it was not mentioned anywhere in the installation guide that the MSDTC service needs to be clustered. Do I need to cluster that service with seperate network ip address and cluster group ?
    2. The Network binding order issues a warning even though the adapters are set up in the right order as mentioned in the installation guide.
    3. Eventhough there is a internet connectivity available in the server, the "Microsoft .Net Application Security" check issues a warning.
NB: As per the cluster validation report, the clustering at the OS level seems to be fine.
Please provide me your valuable suggestions to rectify these warnings. Can I ignore these warnings and proceed with the installation of SQL Server ?
    Regards,
    Varadharajan M

    Hi,
    Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator
Is is user by older versions of Mssql database.
From a SAP perspective you don't need this service.
You can ignore setup request for this service.
As per the reply, I understand that the MSDTC service is not mandatory to cluster in Windows Server 2008/MS SQL Server 2008. But when i try to install the SQL DB, the Set support rule ends up with warnings saying that the MSDTC service should be clustered. Can I ignore the warnings and proceed with the installation. Can anyone confirm this please ?
Also please confirm whether we need to have the db cluster group in the DNS before initiating the SQL Server Set up.
    Regards,
    Varadharajan M

  • BPF 'Method '~' of object '~' failed' error

    Hi Experts.
we are experiencing quite a lot of  'Method '' of object '' failed' when trying to open a template from a BPF. The templates work without problems when we open them from etools\Open dynamic templates but randomly they fail when using the BPF. We have cleared the Client Options and it stills does not work from some PCs (other users enter into the templates without problems).
    Any idea?
Thanks a lot for your support!
    Albert

I've posted this in a thread before and it works very well on the computers where we've experienced the problem
Windows XP temp folder path described in the note and I've added info for Vista/Windows 7 below. This also applies to BPC 7.5 MS even though the note is for 7.0 MS
    http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1528423
The info for resolution helped me fix a windows 7 client that has been unable to open BPF steps although it has been able to open the reports directly.
For windows 7 clear out everything in temp that looks like it belongs to BPC at the following path.
    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp
    Regards,
    Markus
