Installation on Enterprise Portal in an existing NW04s JAVA Stack

Hello experts,
we are having a NW04s Java Stack SP17 without EP Packages.
But now we want to install a Enterprise Portal on this stack also.
How can I do this?? Are there some docu's / install guides or something like this!
Thanks a lot
Christian

NW04 go to -> https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/nw04installation -> You'll find it under SAP EP
Also EP documentation is included on the NW04s Java Master guide.

  • How to install and add Enterprise Portal over an existing ECC server

    Hi Guys
We have already installed the ERP package (ECC) and we have enough memory and diskspace on the server and there we are considering installing Enterprise Portal over the existing server so that we can use both ECC and EP.
How can we do this? What are the steps to do it? I want to make sure that we don't corrupt the existing SAP stuff on the server, but just want to install enterprise portal .
Your comments or suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
here an uodate of the progress I am making to solve the problem described above.
Due to the output of the logfile (User not authorized), I think the "Administration" user does not have enough rights to perform the required actions needed for the installation.
Well, I looked it up (Visual Administrator --> Cluster --> Server 0 ... --> Services --> Security Provider -->Runtime --> Policy Configurations --> "service.naming" in "Components" List --> Security Roles).
According to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_webas630/helpdata/en/de/83343ecc7f892ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm, all users and groups that are granted permission "jndi_all_operations"  can perform all operations available in the naming system.
I checked and found out that jndi_all_operations is merely a role reference to security role "administrators". Group "Administrators" is assigend to security role "administrator". As I mention before, user "Administrator" is member of group "Administrators". I think user "Administrator" has been granted all required permissions.
Am I wrong, what else could cause such an error message! Need some guideance.

  • For an SAP enterprise(4.7), how to add java stack during upgrade to ECC6.0?

    Source release:  an R/3 4.7 32bit
    Target release: ECC6.0 64bit (abap+java)
My plan is to go over the following upgrade steps:
    4.7 32bit-> ECC abap only 32bit ->ECC abap 64bit -> install java stack.
    Is this the best way?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
Its always best to go to the enhanced and latest version.
    _+4.7 32bit-> ECC abap only 32bit ->ECC abap 64bit -> install java stack.+_
the above step will increase only only the cost.
If ur going for just practice purpose, then no issues u can go for it.
But its always good to go for
    4.7------> Ecc(ABAP + JAVA) together.
coming to 32bit and 64 bit. Some constraints are there. If u look at Ecc 6- SR3, it will only support 64 bit.
Look at all those sections and go for upgrade.

  • Running WDA ABAP on my Enterprise Portal

I have two systems (Netweaver 2004s Java and Netweaver 2004s ABAP) running on two different computers. I have developed an ABAP WDA, tested it and works fine in my SE80->Test Application.
    Question 1:
I want to run this now on my Enterprise Portal (Netweaver 2004s Java). Have any of you done this? If so, can you please send me a step-by-step procedure.
    Question 2:
I am disappointed by the fact, that Netweaver 2004s ABAP does not have an Enterprise Portal unlike Java. Can anybody tell me if there is a workaround that I dont know of, so that I dont have to go through the process in Question 1 to see my WDA ABAP run on a Portal.
Thank you in advance for your time, effort and generosity to share your valuable knowledge. Its greatly appreciated!
    Nagesh

Hi.  You will need to set up a system configuartion in your portal to access the ABAP stack.
    1)  First you need to set up the portal so that it knows the system that you want to connect to.  Here is the documenation for setting it up.  Once you setup the system, you simply create an iView.  When you create the iView it will ask you which system you want to connect to for this WDA app.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/5a/0339040c0b11d7b84800047582c9f7/frameset.htm
You will want to use the "template selection" at the appropriate point in the system config wizard.  Also you probably want to use the "SAP system using dedicated application server"
    2) The portal is implemented on the java stack only, there is not portal that runs on the abap stack.  I'm not sure that SAP plans to create there own portal framework on the ABAP stack.  Even the portal on the java stack was purchased.

  • Enterprise Portal Sneak Preview, quick installation guide

    Hello,
Two or three months ago I have installed the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal Sneak Preview SP9. For this purpose I have used the quick installation guide which formerly could be found under the following web-address:

  • SAP Enterprise Portal - Post Installation Tasks

    Hello everyone,
I am a beginner in the area of SAP Enterprise Portal. Please bear with me in case if I ask you stupid questions.
"Our idea is to deploy the BIW 3.5 IVIEW over the portal"
I have installed the SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP6 on Windows 2000 server environment. I have followed the install guide and I have done the installation successfully. I am also able to logon to the portal server using the irl url http://sodium:5000/irj/portal as an Administrator.
As a BASIS administrator point of view, what are the next Post Installation activities that I need to perform?
(Our idea is to deploy the BIW 3.5 Iview over the portal)
    I really appreciate your responses.
    Thanks & regards,
    Nikee

    Hello Nikee,
Simply define the SAP BW system, add an Alias, import portal certificate (for SSO), and start creating functional iview that can render your BW queries and reports.
Create a System pointing to the BW server with the following details:
    a) System ID
    b) Client
    c) Web Access Point with "WAS" as category containing the following
    entries: -
    · Protocol
    · Hostname
Note: Domain name of WAS should be same as portal domain
    After that create BW iviews
QueryString is in the form "CMD=LDOC&infocube=myCube&query=myQuery"
You should have WAS on the BW server and also IGS shall also be present.
To follow with the latest, see note #489961 and

  • Installation Learning Solution on the Enterprise Portal

    Hi All!
A have a question: What a business package should be installed on the Portal for Learning Solution?
    Thank.

Hi Artsiom, I am going through the same exercise at the moment, and the way I understand it is that LSM Portal is a standalone apps running on a j2ee WAS application server (LSOFE) that can be integrated within the EP portal.  The Learning Portal can be called directly by the SAP WAS or it can be integrated as an iView in SAP Enterprise Portal.
Essentially BSPs, so my guess is either integrate the content running on this LSOFE or incorporate BSPs into the EP.
See the following links for the Business packages available:

  • BW Workbook as an iView in the Enterprise Portal

I keeping getting a dialog box asking to select the appropriate program to open the workbook. When I select .xls it opens, and it shows the parameters I entered and not the workbook. The customer is on NW04 Stack 11.
I followed ever step on help.sap.com site as listed below.
BW workbooks are MS Excel workbooks with one or more embedded BW queries. You are able to display these workbooks in the Enterprise Portal as iViews.
    Features
Workbooks are displayed in a separate MS Excel window. Opening workbooks within the Web browser window is not possible for technical reasons.
BW workbooks require the BEx Analyzer, which requires a local installation of the SAP GUI for Windows with the BW front end.
SAP recommends that you use BEx Web applications in the Enterprise Portal that run completely in the Web browser.
You can use the function Export as Excel 2000 File from the BW Web application context menu as an alternative to using a local installation of the BW front end if you require Excel functions. See Context Menu Functions  and Exporting as a CSV File/Excel 2000 File.
An iView with a workbook can be generated using the Portal Content Studio or Role Upload. For more information, see Generating Content from SAP BW for the Enterprise Portal.
The iViews are of type SAP Transaction iView and have the code link com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction.
The most important properties are System, Transaction (TCODE) and ApplicationParameter.
·The System property contains the alias on the BW system (see Creating BW Systems in the  Portal).
·The transaction code for every workbook is RRMXP.
·The value WBID= is in the ApplicationParameter property.
You can determine the workbook ID with the BEx Analyzer:
    a. Open the desired workbook.
    b. In the BEx toolbar, choose ® OLAP Functions for Active Cells ® Properties. The Information tab page contains the Workbook ID (Server).
Note that with BW workbooks as an iView, the AutoStart property contains the value True (process first screen) and the GuiType property contains the value WinGui.
Anyone have a solution for this to work?
    Thanks,
    -Eli

    Dear Rasmesh,
Please try to do this suggestion:
    3. How can I use SAP Application Integrator to access SAP transactions?
There are two different ways to use the SAP Application Integrator transaction iView. In both cases please use a URL like 'irj://com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction' followed by your custom parameters like '?System=DEV&TCode=SE38&GuiType=WinGui &WinGui_Type=Shortcut&OkCode=SHOP'.
    The parameters are:
    System [mandatory]
    TCode [mandatory]
    GuiType (=WinGui / WebGui / JavaGui) [mandatory]
WinGui_Type (=Shortcut ..if you want to launch the GUI in a new window)
OkCode (The OkCode that you would like to be executed after the transcation is called by SAP GUI.)
ApplicationParameter (Pass these values to your screen fields which needs to be be separated by
    AutoStart (true / false)
    UseSPO1 (true / false)
For a complete list of parameters please consult http://help.sap.com.
