Installation Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10 on a redhat linux platform 5.5

Dear All,
Can someone has already installed Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10 on a redhat linux platform 5.5? I'm having issues with compat-oracle5 library who is requesting binutils15 and on the linux box it's version binutils17?

Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 Installations fails on windows 7 64 bit

Hi guys,
I am trying since the last 10 days to install Oracle EBS 12.1 on windows 7 64 bit. I have installed the pre-requisites, .i.e:
1. MKS Toolkit 8.7
2. Visual C++ 2005
3. I am installing from the Administrator user Account, which is added to the Administrators Group.
4. After the installation is started all the prerequisite checks are met.
The setup displays the following error on completion of 33% after unzipping all the 237 files:
RW-50004: Error code received when running external process. Check log file for details.
Running Database install Driver for VIS instance
When i checked the log file i found the following error in the logfile 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\Inventory\logs\cloneActions2011-06-05_02-30-16PM'
INFO: ERROR: File not found: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\CONFIG\machine.config
INFO: ERROR: File not found: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\CONFIG\machine.config
Please tell me what should i do?

Windows 7 is certified version for ebs 12.1. I have myself installed it on another system and it is running well. But on this system has some issues.Win7 certified on client tier

If you try to make r12.1 installation on win 7, its mean you can try to make installation on uncertified platform.

I'm in the process of downloading the Oracle E-business Suite R12 software on Delivery Cloud. What I'm not so sure of is..
1. Which Files should I download for the complete installation for practise and learning purposes, because I see a string of them?
2. What are the installation instructions if you have a pentium 4, OS-Windows XP Sp3, and a 1.5GB RAM?
I would appreciate it if anyone helps me with a detailed procedure on the installation. Moreso,

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Installation Steps on Linux

I am new to Linux and have installed a clean install at home of Oracle Unbreakable Linux.
Now, my purpose is to install and use Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0.4 (Vision) to grow my knowledge.
Questions
1. Do I download all the files in edelivery.oracle.com under 'Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Release 12.0.4 Media Pack for Linux x86'?
2. I know, there is another thread on Installing on Windows XP with great instructions. Anyone know what steps I take after downloading the above referenced package?

Oracle E-Business suite installation

Hi,
I want to install and configure Oracle EBS 12 on Oracle Linux 6 or Ubuntu 11.04.
Here are the hardware configuration:
Intel i3, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB HDD, 375 GB free disk space on it.
I have downloaded Oracle EBS 12 for Linux 64 bit.
I have Windows 7 64 bit installed and VMWare workstation 8 installed on it. I installed Linux 6 64 bit on VMWare. Do not know where to go from here, please help me in installing Oracle EBS on Oracle Linux 6. I have searched in different forums, I notice that Linux needs to be configured before installing EBS 12 and I also notice that 300 GB need for EBS installation but where it should created?
Please help to complete this EBS installation, I appreciate your efforts.
Is Ubuntu 11.04 compatible with Oracle EBS 12?

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Installation

I have gone through the Guide for installation. If someone could clear one thing that will get me started. In the installation guide its repeatedly mentioned to start the installation with the command "rapidwiz". On page 1-18 of the guide (Oracle® E-Business Suite Installation Guide: Using Rapid Install Release 12.1) it's also mentioned to run the command:
Example
$ cd /u01/StageR12/startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz
$ ./rapidwiz
So far I have downloaded the first two E-business packages and unzipped them.

Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 for Sun Solaris SPARC (64-bit) Rapid Install RDBMS 3 disks
I do not see anywhere the command "rapidwiz", moreover I do not see any directory structure in the packages as described above. I need assistance on this part. Is the command "rapidwiz" present in the download packages (I don't see it anywhere) or I am missing something. Thanks...

Upgrad Oracle E-Business Suit installation from Filesystem to Raw Device

Oracle E-Business Suit 11 is installed on IBM AIX 5L.
Now I want to install RAC for it.
So is there any way we can convert existing database to database with RAC ?
I know how to convert it for Oracle 9i database, But for E-Business suit is it something different or same ?

Oracle E-Business Suite Certification on Linux x86-64

Hello all,
I have some questions about certification for Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 on Linux x86-64.
I have two 64-bit servers and intend to do a split configuration.
From the certification (Certify/View Certifications by Product/E-Business Suite/E-Business Suite 11i and Earlier/Platform Selection: Database Tier Only) I understand the following:
I must have the Application Tier running on Linux-x86 and the Database Tier may be either on Linux-x86 or Linux-x86-64.
Is this correct?
Should I install RHES4 for 32bit on the Application Server and RHES4 for 64bit on de Database Server?
or
Should I install RHES4 for 64bit on both servers and install the 32bit Applications software on the Application Server?
How should I ask for the software I need? From the E-Delivery web site I don't have the 64bit option for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11.5.10.2.
Is EBS allways for 32bit no matter the OS ?

Is EBS allways for 32bit no matter the OS ?It is always 32-bit but it could comes in 64-bit for the database part. You would find such a media for Solaris for example "Oracle® Applications 11i Release 10.2 for Solaris Operating System (SPARC 32-bit) with Solaris Operating System (SPARC 64-bit) Oracle® Database" but not for Linux Intel 64-bit.
Just get the media for Linux x86, install it, then consider having Oracle 10g 64-bit on the database tier.

Upgrading oracle database 9.2.0.5 to 9.2.0.8 for Oracle E-Business suite

I have applied patch to upgrade Oracle E-business suite(11.5.10) database from 9.2.0.5 to 9.2.0.8. but after applying patch also it showing 9.2.0.5. please help me.

server OS is windows server 2003 std. i have performed following steps
1.     First I installed 11.5.10.2 Technology Stack Validation Patch (Revision 1 July, 2005) on both application (D:\Oracle\visappl) and database (D:\oracle\Visdb\9.2.0) home. (p4318672_11i_GENERIC.zip)
2.     Then I review the html log file generated for both the home. Html file generated for oracle home with ALL PASS status. But html file for DBMS oracle home has return FAIL status. I review the reason in txkVal11510MP_DB.html. it gives me following reason to fail
“11.5.10.2 requires that your Oracle 9iR2 database version to be 9.2.0.6.0 or higher on Windows platform. Please refer to Oracle MetaLink Note 216550.1 "Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle 9i Release 2 (9.2.0)" to upgrade to the latest certified version of Oracle 9iR2. After upgrading to 9.2.0.6, you must apply 9.2.0.6 patch 5 ( 4287598 ) before upgrading to 11.5.10.2. “
3.     I went through the Metalink Note 216550.1. I refer Section 2 of it. I applied patch 5035661. when I applied this patch , output of this patch mentioned that OUI 2.2 is already installed on both the Home.
4.     Then I applied 9.2.0.6 patch 5 (4287598). Prior to this I applied patch 2617419 because patch 4287598 require OPatch 1.0.0.0.52.
5.     I performed patch 4287598 post installation task also. I didn’t apply windows patch 6, because my database was not showing 9.2.0.8 as required by windows patch 6.
6.     so this is the complete task list I have done to upgrade database from 9.2.0.5 to 9.2.0.8

Haley Rules Engine - HaleyAuthority with respect to Oracle E Business Suite

I am currently exploring on Haley Rules Engine which is recently aquired by Oracle.
As per my investingation, i came to know that HaleyAuthority ruleEngine is available as plugin from the recent release of Siebel CRM 8.0 installation and onwards.
Here goes my questions
1) is this haleyAuthority rule engine available as third party tool? If so, How to integrate with Oracle E- Business Suite.
2) Like Siebel 8.0, Is this HaleyAuthority plugged in any latest version of our oracle E- Business Suite?
Please let me know your understanding and information on Haley Rules Engine with respect to Oracle E-Business Suite.

haleyAuthority is different from Haley Determination Services (now Oracle Policy Automation)
OPA (Haley's Determination Services) are available as Web Service which you can invoke from E-Business Suite or Use Fusion Middleware (SOA Suite / BPEL) as layer between OPA and E-Business Suite

Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0.6 on Oracle Linux 5.5

My production apps (Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0.6) and db (Oracle Database 10.2.0.4.0) tiers reside on their own Redhat 4.6 servers. I have a new server that I am in the process of installing Oracle Linux 5.5 on for hosting a TEST instance - both apps and db tiers. Once the OS is installed I will clone production to it either using rapidclone or rman duplicate. Where can I learn what if any packages I need to install before cloning to my new Oracle 5.5 Linux server?

I am an Oracle DBA, and I want to become an "Oracle Apps DBA".

Hi,
I want to download Portuguese language pack for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.
However on Oracle E-Delivery, I could not find any language pack for downloading (as it was available for OEBS 11i)
Is there any change in installing language pack on Oracle E-Business Suite 12/12.1 as compared to 11i.
Should i download complete Oracle E-Buisiness Suite installer by selecting the Portuguese language on first page of Oracle E-Delivery?
Please guide.
