Installation problem AIR app

Hi All,
I had developed an AIR application.
I am able to install it on windows but not on linux and mac
Application link http://bit.ly/9q1CZD
is there any change to build the AIR binary for linux and mac.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have the same problem for different reasons,  I'm delivering an AIR app for a customer who has a company wide policy of no desktop icons for apps installed on work machines.
The app in question fires up at Start Up so there is no need for one anyway.
So is there absolutely no way (in AIR 1.5) I can prevent Adobe AIR from placing an icon on the desktop if the user does not untick the box when installing?
Thanks
Craig

  • Auto install another app with the installation of AIR app

    Hi
I am new to desktop application development. I am stuck on an issue.
My air application uses another application installed on user machine to capture the screen shots. I want to bundle this third party application (screen capture software) installer with my AIR application so that When user will install air app this screen capture application will automatically install on user machine.
My whole motive is to automatically install screen capture software on user machine with installation of AIR app without user notice. I dont know how can I accomplish it.
    Thanks

Every time that i turn on windows and i want to open an app

  • Installation problem, uninstalled app .. can i reinstall it again?

I am new to adobe and the creative programs, like in design and photoshop. I install a free trial of indesign and did not have any problem with it and it's running great!
However I tried to install a free trial of photoshop and the only file that came up was Uninstall photoshop. I uninstalled it and now I am trying to download it back. Can someone please tell me if it is even possible to reinstall a free-trial app.
    Thank you!

Then you'll have to download it again, e.g. from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2014-direct-download-links.html

  • Install AIR app + native app simultaneously

    Hi everyone,
I'm developing an Adobe AIR app but since AIR doesn't provide
all the functionality that I need, I'm also developing a native app
that does some system-level stuff and writes a XML file that then
the AIR app reads. Since I want this to be as painless as possible
for the end user, I'd like to make an installar that:
    - Installs the native app and sets it to autorun when the
system starts (it's a background app).
    - Installs the AIR app, detect Flash version, etc (launch
    the Badge?)
I think I'd need a separate installer solution for each OS
(Windows and Mac) that, after installing the native app and adding
it to the autorun list of the OS, launches the .air so that the
    badges continues with the installation.
I don't really know if what I want to accomplish is doable at
all, so any hints or links that may help me would be really
    appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Manuel F. Lara

    Hi Daniel,
Could you post or send me ([email protected]) the entire crash log?  I'll at least need the binaries section so I can properly symbolicate the log.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Adobe AIR app installation issue due to certificate problem on mac 10.9.5

Im trying to upgrade and then reinstall an Adobe Air application but get the error message failing to install due to a certificate issue.
The developer says the fix is to uninstall the app and install again but this also fails.
Checked my machine clock - saved but that didnt work
The adobe AIR uninstaller simply says I have the latest version? Cant seem to delete and reinstall although other adobe air apps work so I dont think this is the issue
I have gone through the troubleshooting guide: Troubleshoot AIR installation | Mac OS but still have the issue?
    Any ideas would be great.

I suspect your Mac OS install was an in place upgrade from an earlier version. This is something I would never even consider with a production machine.

  • Air app install fail in IE with Badge Installer Error # 2032

Much has been written about this problem, and the most quoted solutions are
Ensure the appurl FlashVar is not a relative url but fully qualified http://domain.com/app.air
    Uninstall and reinstall Air
    Empty browser's cache
None of these have solved my issue and I still have a reproducible bug.
I have set up a badge installer at http://tx.flamjam.com/mms/ which attempts to install appurl=http:/tx.flamjam.com/mms/MMSReview.air
This works beautifully in OS X but fails in Windows with the error window,
    Sorry, an error has occurred.
The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author.
    Error# 2032
I've tested IE and Chrome, both updated to the most recent versions.
When Air is not installed I get a slightly different error message, with no error number.
The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.
With Air installed, if I instead visit the appurl directly in the browser — http:/tx.flamjam.com/mms/MMSReview.air —  the file downloads and installs without problem.
To the best of my knowledge, the error is a generic stream error which essentially means that the appurl could not be found. To demonstrate this, simply use a fictitous appurl and now the same error can be seen on OS X as well. This implies that something is malforming the appurl withing the badge, but I have modified the status display text of the badge to display the appurl parsed from the LoaderInfo object containing FlashVars payload and can confirm that the appurl appears to be consistent between OS X and Win.
    Log file in next post.
I'll continue digging for a solution, and post my findings here, but would value other's input on this subject greatly.

    An interesting development.
When I monitor my network traffic using ServiceCapture I can see that no attempt is made to connect to the appurl, with the install failing instantly without even attempting to connect to the appurl.
ServiceCapture on OS X confirms the attempt to connect to the appurl even if the url is deliberately fictitous resulting in a 404 response.
The badge begins the installation process using the installApplication method of the following file
    http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/browserapi/air.swf
which the badge loads on startup.
It would appear to me that the installation problem is failing inside that loaded swf's code, but I'm at a loss as to how to debug that.

You are right, Adobe does not support CS5 because it is no longer sold.
Simply download the trial version of CS5 from this Adobe web site and input your serial number.

  • Adobe Air Installation problems

    Hi,
I am trying to install Adobe AIR, and I'm running into a
problem. The installer quits with the error "An error occurred
while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your
    administrator. Please contact your administrator".
I did a search and found a similar problem, but that was for
someone who already installed one of the beta versions of Adobe
AIR. Just to give some more context, I'm trying to install Adobe
AIR on a clean computer with no prior installation of AIR, and I'm

    I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
Just to take care of the obvious, I do have administrator

  • Silent install Air Runtime and Air App with custom installer?

I want to use a custom installer that will perform some actions, and then silently install air runtime and an air application. The goal here is to be able to perform a customized install for an Air application (for a user that might not have Air installed) without confusing the user with multiple install screens. Can I use a custom installer to silently install Air (if the user doesn't have it installed) and the Air app? If so, are there any restrictions on the custom installer? If there are any examples of this, please provide the links.

Since you applied for the distribution from Adobe you should
have received a link to a page where you can download what they
call the "side-car" installer. It's basically an installation
system they are making available to developers that can be easily
configured to deliver a bundled runtime and application
    installation for Mac and Windows.
Check your email again and see if you can't find a link in
there pointing you to a download page for the AIR runtime as well
as the aforementioned side-car installer. For those who don't know,
    here
is where you can apply for a redistribution permit for AIR.
I have a small tutorial posted that might be of help to you

  • CustomeUpdateUI for native AIR app installer

    Hi,
We have a native installer for a windows and Mac AIR app.
For updates, we use the NativeApplicationUpdater code from:
    http://code.google.com/p/nativeapplicationupdater/
After an update has been downloaded and launched, AIR shows a dialong prompting the user to "Replace" or "Cancel"
    the update.
I would like to get rid of the dialog as this seems to include a redundant question for the user who chose to update from the first place.
I believe setting the <customUpdateUI> tag at the application decriptor file would hide the dialog, but that causes the update to just launch the existing app. How can I come up with custom logic that will cause the update to actually replace the existing app?
    Thanks,
    Eilon

It does have half an answer. SWFs can request loading AIR applications so they suggested embedding a SWF on the page which would be able to launch your AIR application. Your link would need to fire off some JavaScript to use the ExternalInterface with the SWF to relay your request inside the SWF.
If you really want it on Windows for example then you'll need to register your URI, the example should be self explainatory:

  • AIR App Made in Flash AS3 Installer Error

I created a desktop AIR 2.6 app using AS3 in Flash 5.5.  After I publish it and try to install it I get this error:
The app works great when I just run the swfs.  I have published apps before using the same software and haven't had any problems.  This time I am pulling in mutliple swfs (haven't done that before), could that be the issue? I'm just spit balling here . . .

Hey demennenoh, thanks for the heads up. I feel a little stupid though. I had created air apps before and it has always asked me if I want to replace the one that is already installed, but not this time. Uninstall and reinstall fixed it...thanks again!

  • How do I work around large AIR Installer file for app updates?

I develop AIR apps which often come with many included files (pdf, doc, swf, images, etc).  These get quite large, Total Air installer size measured in Gigs.   Distribution is via DVD.  Currently I create sub-folders under my project and place the assets.  Works fine.
The rub comes when I want to issue program updates.  The AIR update process would be great if I could just update my main program swf, but what I'm finding is that even if I'm doing a minor code update I still have to create this same multi-gigabyte AIR installer.
If I were using a Visual Studio installer I'd just include some sort of run-once that would copy all the assets after the installer completed.  Then when building an update it would skip the 'copy all' part...but I can't see any way to do something similar with the AIR installer.
So, to summarize, I'd like to be able to issue updates to my main AIR SWF without including all the assets again.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg.

No, I don't have any recommendations. You would need to sign up for the AIR redistribution program. When you do this you gain access to some tools that help the process. http://www.adobe.com/products/air/runtime_distribution1.html
The only warning is that you will have to create an installer for each of your target platforms (unless you find an installer product that is also cross-platform, of course).

  • Problem starting AIR app from windows server 2003

    Hello,
I have an AIR app that I am trying to run using a c#
    webservice under Win 2003.
I am starting the application process (air .exe file) as the
"Network Service" user which has full-rights on the app-folder and
app-working folder. The problem is that once with the applications
the "Adobe AIR Updater.exe" process is starting to (using the same
user N.S.) and both of the processes stop responding.
I have tried to start the process as "Local Service" with
"Desktop Interaction" too but unfortunately with no result.
I must tell you that under XP and Vista it runs perfect...
Is there any security issue related to win 2003 or any way i
can start an air app from command line.
Also i am interested why "Adobe Air Updater.exe" is starting
    ?

Not sure about  copying eulaAccepted file from one location to another - that would really depend on which user account your service is running under.
A better approach (IMHO), is to open the services window (My Computer | <right-click> | Manage, then navigate to Services and expand the tree) so you can see your service on the RHS.
Stop your service, then inspect it's properties, select the 'Log on' tab, then check the checkbox which says "Allow system to interact with desktop". Apply the change, then restart your service.
next time the AIR runtime prompts you to accept the EULA, the window will appear on the screen, so you can click "I accept".
After accepting, reverse the procedure which allowed the service to interact with the desktop, and make sure that you have modified the registry to prevent AIR from updating as mentioned in:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/air_admin/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3 d11c0f59823a-7ff0.html
    You should be all set.

  • CONTRACT JOB POSTING:Custom Installer Project for AIR app

We have  a large AIR app which will require a custom installer. If you have experience with Windows MSI installer let me know if you are interested in this contract job and I will provide details.

    Joe,
Thanks for your helpful response. I think you're right that the database management steps would happen on app startup after checking a version number stored in the DB.
What I'm wondering, however, is if there's a best practice for managing these incremental changes to the DB. My current direction is to create a class MigrationsManager, that creates an array of class Migration ( with a single migrate() function ) to manage each necessary and incremental change. Meanwhile, a "migrations" table has one column "version" with a UTC timestamp as an integer and is updated on each migration.
Rails does migrations with up() and down() functions on their base migration class, but the down() function isn't applicable since I can't imagine I would be rolling back earlier migrations on a user's DB.
In the end, I guess I'm just fishing of the best way of managing the different scenarios encountered when 3 years down the road you have an audience with all kinds of different versions of your app/db because of differences in how assiduous they were in updating to the most recent version.
