Installation problem: IIS 7, Vista 64 Bit
Hi all!
I tried to install EPM 11.1.1.1 on my laptop (Vista Business, 64 Bit) and have a problem with the installation of HFM Web Application and other components of EPM 11.1.1.1, witch needs IIS.
After I've got the error "Products needs IIS to be installed" for the first time, I installed IIS 7.
Now the IIS is running - I hope (However I'm able to open the standard web site http://localhost/), but I'm still getting the same error.
How can I check, if IIS is running?
Could someone tell me, what I maybe forgot or what I have to consider? Do I have to make some IIS settings? I already allowed all isapi and cgi extensions.
Could Vista or the 64-Bit system version be the source of my problem? Why HFM does not recognize the installed IIS7?
Do someone have any ideas?

Most people are going to tell you to use a supported Operating System. If this is a production installation then install a supported OS -- I'm presuming this is not a production or multi-user system and iis a personal development system.
This post seems to have an answer to one of the main problems with a Vista install - Re: EPM System 11.1.1: OpenLDAP & WIndows Vista Issue
You may encounter issues with Performance Management Architect and IIS7 and those are likely much more difficult if not impossible to resolve -- if you want to use classic applications then just select apache when you deploy Workspace and do not install Performance Management Architect.

Flash player 11.0.1.152 installation problem with Windows Vista 64-Bit
Hello,
I just can't get Flash Player to install on my computer with Windows Vista 64-Bit - doesnt matter if I try with Firefox, Opera or IE (I usually use Firefox).
The download isn't a problem, but when I start the downloaded .exe, this file just disappears from my download folder and nothing happens - besides starting a process called install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih_3.exe, which does nothing. The usual installation popup never appears. After that I can't try starting the installation again, until disabling the process via task manager ("Only a single instance of this application may run"). Doesn't matter if I try the download and installation with or without "McAffe Security Plus" btw - same result.
I never had such a problem before - Flash Player 10.3 was and is no problem to install and use.
I have tried all the measures suggested in the troubleshooting section on the official site, including the advanced troubleshooting measures (uninstall old version, run as administrator, disabling software firewalls, disabling virus scanner etc.). Nothing helps.
I don't got those problems with my laptop running Windows 7 - just my desktop computer with Vista 64-Bit.

NSP installation problem on windows VISTA
Hi,
I have just bought a new PC with VISTA Home Premium as operating system (unfortenlty). I am trying to install the NSP demo version, but the hole installation seems to stack on the 34%. I had befor 1,5 years succesfull installed the NSP on a XP PC and I did not had such problems. The system requirements says that XP is required. I can not installed this on my PC.
I have start to download the NSP 7.01 version that says that works with VISTA and windows server 2003. If I do not have the windows server 2003 can not setup the NSP? What alternatives do I have?
Please can anybody help me?
Thanks in advances.Finally after 4 hard days and nights I have succeed to install the NSP, but this was imposimble to be installed on VISTA Home Premium edition. For this reason I had to download and install first the Virtual PC 2007, then to install the XP on this PC and then the NSP 7.01. Previously I did not take any msg but the installation was stack on the 40-41% for more than 6H in a new PC with 4GB Ram. So this was not acceptable. In the VM the hole installation took me only 2-3h.

Netweaver 7.01 SR1 (latest) installation problem on Windows Vista

1. I'm getting the following problem with Netweaver 7.01 SR1 (latest available on SAP server) on Windows Vista. Yes, main installation requirement page says I can install it on Vista.

Thanks a lot for your help. Even after I gave all the permission to my user, it could not access the file. So finally I logged with the Administrator user, and the problem was solved, ie access was available.
However, the installation still did not complete ... after 100% installation the screen got hanged. The error I found from the Install file is as below:

IPod nano installation problems with Windows Vista
I purchased an iPod nano today and have not been able to install iTunes. There are instructions for Windows XP but not much help for Vista. As of right now I am very unhappy with my purchase and if I can't get help soon I am going to return it. I have heard so many good things about iPods but I haven't had any good experiences yet. Please help!!

I purchased songs through iTunes and tried to drag them to my ipod icon, but it said that I was not authorized on this computer! I called tech support for HP and they said it's a compatibility issue and to contact Apple about it to fix it. Before I do so, I am checking here first, just hoping there would be a really easy fix for this problem. I'm regretting getting Windows Vista now for many reasons, this being the latest. Any advice?

CS3 'freezed' installation problem on Windows Vista Home Premium.
Hi! I searched everywhere for answer that installation of my PS CS3 is freezed in moment on the screen.
I installed Acrobat Reader, Dreamweaver cs3 only. Both in English language.
I tried to uninstall, then install, using cs3clean, but it`s nothing change in my situation. Even I tried to copy whole content of my cs3 installation disk to hard drive.

How long did you allow it to sit like this? Only reason that I ask is that I recently did an install on my laptop, and the DVD drive was EIDE and it took probably 20 mins. to get through each disc.

Take a look in the direct ".\oracle\product\11.2.0\server" below the "app" directory. Do you see some url-link files there? (Despite several other subdirectories, of course...)
Two of them should be the "Database_homepage" and "Get_Started". Try to call them.
And Oracle XE service is started . Well, that's great. Sounds like all you lack is the links in you task menu.
i couldn't quite get you here . which software/ programs are you referring to ? The start menu entry created is shown already as it is in the problem above and installation folders are there as i mentioned above . what else ,you refferring to ?I just wanted to check whether the installer has registered the database in the Windows list. This is part of a successful installation and would offer you the opporunity to uninstall (and perhaps reinstall) the whole package.
Also , i am not sure which lOG file to check there because there are a lot of them !!As your database seems to be running as noted above, it doesn't seem to be necessary to go into these details.
You should be able to access your database, either by using the links mentioned above, or, if these failed to be created, by calling the URLs by hand, e.g.
http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4950 for "Get_Started" and
http://127.0.0.1:8080/htmldb for the "Database_homepage".
You should also be able to use the command line tool by calling sqlplus from a command window.
If that doesn't satisfy you or you face any errors, you could try to reinstall.

ITunes 7.6 "invalid signature" installation problems with Windows Vista
I updated my 160Gb Classic to the latest firmware and then up pops: "The iPod cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 7.6 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."
Everytime I start to download the lastest version of iTunes, Quicktime 7.6 and Safari I get a pop up window saying: "itunes & quicktime has an Invaild signature and won't installed" and the same happens with Safari.
I've turned off my popup blocker as was one suggestion, but still no luck. Am I being a Dunce and missing something?
I'm on dial up and downloading an entire version of iTtunes takes ages, but Download Express usually helps cut this time in half.
Would anyone have any ideas please on how to reslove this please? My iPod doesn't even show up in iTunes, just the message saying to update to the latest ver of iTunes. I'm running Windows Vista 32BitHeej

I tried installing Essbase on Vista and it was a miserable failure. I did, finally, get it to install and run but certain operations, particularly metadata queries (to fill picklists) performed very poorly (for example, 5 to 10 seconds to return a list of 5 members). I punted and had the laptop rebuilt with XP.

Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)
First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",

it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w, deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
and

I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)" from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
The values I filled for
1) Global Database Name : orcl
2) System Identifier : orcl
3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
Username : sys/ as sysdba
Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
After this you are ready to write your first SQL command.Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

I can't install Lightroom 3.2 (German) on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
While copying the extracted program files the following error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
I found out that other users had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution.
Perhaps it is a Microsoft .NET Framework related problem. But after installing .NET Framework 4 nothing changed.

I downloaded the 3.4.1 version and started the installation as administrator. Unfortunately the same error message occured again.
Then I tried to install the 32-bit version (although I prefer a 64-bit program on a 64-bit operating system). A similar error message appeared at the same point of installation progress, but with another combination of numbers and letters in brackets. -
Boot Camp/Vista installation problem
MacBook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, Snow Leopard 10.6.2.
Trying to install Windows Vista Home Premium using Boot Camp.
Started Boot Camp Installer and created 32GB partition. Inserted Vista disk as instructed and clicked on Start Installation.

That last underline was flashing, waiting for input.
First off, I don't know what to type in, but . . .
The keyboard appears to be disabled because no keystroke registers, nor Return/Enter. Even pressing caps lock or num lock fails to register a light on those keys.
The only way out is to hold down the power key until shutdown, then restart with Eject key depressed to eject Vista disk.

Basically you have to make yourself a copy of your Vista disc using the files of that disc and a programm called oscdimg.exe plus a burning program.
And it had to be done on a Windows PC or in virtualized Windows (using Parallels/Fusion/VirtualBox) on your Mac.

Problems w/ Windows Vista Installation
I upgraded my system to Windows Vista and recently received my Installation CD for Windows Vista from Creative Labs, but when I try to run the installation software I get an error that reads "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this setup program." This only happens when I use the CD. When I download the drivers off the net they install fine. I would like to install the console applications off of the CD. Please help.
