Installation problem: "Java Security Configuration Asistant" failed
Hello, does anybody can help for the following installation problem of Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g:
During installation, when I come to the step "Configuration Asistants", the "Java Security Configuration Asistant" can not pass, it always failed even after retry. Pls help!!!
I'm having the same problem installing on W2K, what I discovered is that it's unable to start listener, I hat to start it manually but it still won't end tihs task.
I also have a 9i Client / Manager software installed in a 9i Home which disapeared from home selector.
If I try to deinstall OEM10G it'll just get to a 2% advance and stop...
...is this a BETA?

I have a problem because Oracle Application Server 10g for Windows doesnt install. I have tried several times on various systems, but every time I have the same error when the installer comes to the "Java Security Configuration Assistant"
The command being spawned is:

Only the first parameter is interesting :
C:\oracle2\product\10.1.0\Db_1/jdk/bin/javaw
It has a mixture of slahes (/) and backslashes (\), the first half C:\oracle2\product\10.1.0\ is ok but the second half Db_1/jdk/bin/javaw is not compatible with windows (slahes are for unix path only), so it obviously doesnt work because this path with a mixture of / and \ is not correct. At this point, the installation of Oracle AS fails.
Does anybody know a cause for this, or a workaround to get AS installed ? ThanksThe mixture of slashes and backslashes isn't an issue for Windows. I have examined the failure of the assistant, but with the new release of AS10g (release 2), I would like to know if you still have the problem you describe.

just to keep you inform.
I put that project on the side for a while... But this morning, I tried Branislav recommendation.
So, I completely uninstall my McAffe Firewall and reboot the computer.
After that, I completely re-install the application server and everything work fine. It only took around 2-3 seconds to do the resyncinstance and updateconfig, compare to 3 hours the last time just for the resyncinstance. Total time for the infrastructure installation was around 1 hour.
Like Branislav said, only stopping the McAfee Firewall was not enough.

May be you have choosen wrong JCE policy for your SAP installation...
Please download the JCE policy from the following link and use it for your sap installation...

The loading of OPSS java security policy provider failed due to exception

The issue is execution of startWebLogic.cmd failed,once shutting down the system and restarting it.At first time,after the installation ,it worked and I was able to log in to web logic server.I also created boot.properties file with user name and password for web logic server in user_projects/domains/UCM_domain/server/admin server/security folder.
The operating system is windows xp, with 32 bit,oracle web logic version 11g, and UCM version 11.1.1.4.0.

Installation Problem - Java SDK 1.4.1
I have a problem with installing Java on my machine at home that you may be able to help me with.
Here are the Details: 1) I installed the most recent java SDK on my machine. 2) I set the Autoexec file with the correct PATH statement. 3) Set the correct CLASSPATH statement 4) The "Java -Version" statement gives the correct reply that it is version 1.4.

Problem: Trying to compile a simple "HelloWorld" Program with "javac Helloworld.java" produces the error "Bad Command or File name".
Issues: Command Line in Windows ME requires 8.3 format. Inserts tilde "~" and a number into the names of the files. even using a short name such as "HelWrld.java" inserts a tilde because of the "java" extension. Have tried using a "jav" extension but that does not work as the error is the same.
Question: How can I get rid of the "Bad Command or File Name"?My First Java Progam (for Windows with Java 2 SDK v1.4.1)
Follow these instructions EXACTLY.
1. Download and install the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition. You can find it here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads.html
Select the download for your operating system and be sure to download the SDK (rightmost column) and not the JRE. (The JRE is only the Java Runtime Environment, which does not include the Java compiler and other tools needed for software development).
2. Read the README and installation instructions! Read these instead of asking questions about installation etc. in the Java forums.

Things to note:
- After installing, add the bin directory of the SDK to your PATH environment variable. For example, if you installed the SDK in C:\j2sdk1.4.1_01, add the directory C:\j2sdk1.4.1_01\bin to your PATH. (If you don't know what an environment variable is and how to set it, read the documentation of Windows; if you're using Windows XP, this might be useful: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q310519& ).
3. Open Notepad and type in your first program:

Save this program somewhere with the filename "HelloWorld.java".
Things to note:
- The case of text is important. Don't type "Helloworld", "helloworld" or anything else. Also the case of the filename is important (even though Windows has case-insensive filenames!).
- Watch out that Notepad doesn't append ".txt" to the filename. The file should be named "HelloWorld.java", not "HelloWorld.java.txt".
4. Open a command prompt and go to the directory that contains the file "HelloWorld.java" (with the CD command).
5. Compile the progam with the following command:
javac HelloWorld.java
Things to note:
- If you get something like "Unknown command: javac" or "Bad command or filename", you did not (correctly) add the bin directory of the SDK to the PATH (see step 2).
6. Run the program. If you didn't get any compile errors, you now have a new file "HelloWorld.class" in the same directory. Run the program with the following command:
java HelloWorld
Things to note:
- If you get: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld/class", you have typed "java HelloWorld.class". Leave off the ".class" at the end. You are typing a class name here, not a filename.
- If you get something like: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: helloworld (wrong name: HelloWorld)", you have typed the class name wrong. Note that the case is important (i.e., don't type "helloworld" but "HelloWorld")!
- You don't need to set any classpath here. In Java 1.4, the current directory is included in the classpath automatically. For older versions of Java, you may need to add the current directory (".") to the classpath, like this:
java -classpath . HelloWorld
7. Congratulations with your first working Java program. Now follow these links:

Opmn configuration asistant failed
I installed ORACLE AS 10.1.3.0 on RHEL 4.
I had installed oracle 10.2.0.1 database and 10.1.2 DS on the same machine.
At the last point of installation,the opmn configuration assistant failed.
This is what the install.log files says:

Installation problem: Java Chartbuilder for Solaris
Hi all,
I have downloaded Oracle Java Chart Builder for Solaris. It's a jar file in 3.8 M size. According to the documentation, I think I suppose to extract it, so I use this command to extract it:
$jar xvf chartbuilder_kit.jar
This will just give me a META-INF folder which contains a MANIFEST.MF file. Other than that I get nothing much. I have tried the NT version of it( a zip file) and after I unzip it I suppose get a set of folder which included a lib, doc, demos, bin and Meta-inf.
Please advise, is it because of I use a wrong way in extracting the jar file????????

nullI'm having the same problem installing on W2K, what I discovered is that it's unable to start listener, I hat to start it manually but it still won't end tihs task.
I also have a 9i Client / Manager software installed in a 9i Home which disapeared from home selector.
If I try to deinstall OEM10G it'll just get to a 2% advance and stop...
...is this a BETA? -
Installation Problem - java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
I'm new to java and have read a lot of posts in this forum but don't see an a solution to my problem. I have win 98.
I have downloaded and installed J2SE (j2re -1_4_1_02)but when I compile my code, I get

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jabberwock
I have set the path to c:\j2se\bin - where I have installed.
PLease advise what am I doing wrong.

to do this typepath=%path%;c:\java\binat the command prompt window. this is a temporary fix... you have win98, so you can put the above line in your "C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT" file just below the other "path=" settings if there are any... if not, the first line is fine.
Secondly, it sounds like you have a "classpath=" environment variable set that doesn't reflect your current ".class" file path. Easiest approach, un set it. at the command prompt type:
set classpath=Note:
typing "set" alone will show a list of your environment strings.
typing "set envstr" will show the setting for whatever "envstr" you specify... eg: set classpathwill show you the "classpath" environment string.
do all this from one command prompt window, and use the same window to change to the directory containing your program... "jaberwock.java" now try to compile it. Good luck, Let me know how it goes... -

This is caused due to Bug 4377902 in the Application server which comes with Oracle Management Server.
"In Turkish, the capitalized form of character "i" is not "I". Instead it is an"I" with a dot on top. (To explain further - there is also capital "I" but the lowercase of that letter does not have a dot - and i with dot and without dot are different vowels).

Solution
A workaround on MS Windows is to set the system regional settings to English (for the time of the install) as indicated below:
1. Go to Regional Settings in Control Panel and set the locale and Default Locale to US English and reboot the computer.
2. Repeat the install

I am trying to install the infrastructure for Oracle 10G AS 9.0.4 on Red Hat Linux 2.1 Advanced Server. The installation proceeds smoothly upto the time that I have to install the Java Security Configuration Assistant when it throws the No Route to Host Exception. No clue in logs either. Please hellllllllllllllppppppp!!!!Hi Sayali!
Check if you network cfg is ok before you start the installation.
What works with me is:
a) Check /etc/hosts
first entry should be
- insert your ip address --
192.168.1.2 yourmachine.yourdomain.com machine
127.0.0.1 localhost
b) in /etc/sysctl.conf
kernel.domainname = yourdomain.com
execute as root sysctl -p
c) Set /etc/nsswitch.conf to use files for names resoultion
d) if you use dns make sure that you receive the right answer for your name and ip address
e) make sure that the firewall on the RH machine is off (iptables)

this is what i have try to do
delete the jazn-data.xml file under the DefaultDomain
and i try to in the folder of C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\UCM_dom ain\config\fmwconfig open cwallet.sso, go to properties of it and then security.Enable full control,modify,Read and execute,read and write permissions for the current user and apply it. but there is no security option when i right click cwallet.sso

I am using the last JSSE 1.02 , the jdk 1.31, working on Jbuilder4
I am working on both RMI and sockets samples.
On the RMI sample I got this Exception : no such algorithm �TSL�

I searched in the posted messages in the forum and I found someone had the same problem
I followed all what he did but no way �!

I installed the JSSE as followed in the install file. I am sure that it is well installed
How to compile???!!!
1.I configured the rmic parameters to generate only the stub compatible only with java 2
2.I compiled the project I got the stub
3.I put theses parameters in
Project Properties /Run/ field : VM parameters
