Installation problem NW2004 SR1 on W2K3 MSSQL2005

Hello everybody,
I am installing the NW2004 SR1 ABAP Stack on W2K3 with MSSQL2005.
During the installation of the database instance Sapinst aborts at the end of the database load with following error:
JS Callback has thrown std::ESAPinstException: ESAPinstException: error text undefined
Can anybody help out or did anybody face the same problem ?
Kind regards,
Torsten

Hello Mike,
Which is the base patch level from which you are trying to upgrade the Engine to SP13?
From the stack trace of the exception it seems that the properties for the JDBC connections were updated but you still have the old driver in the jdbc directory. Can you check if the sqlserver.jar contains the new jdbc classes and that the jdbc settings in the secure store correspond to the driver in jdbc directory?
Kind Regards
Vyara

  • Space Problem in G: - after NW2004s SR1 installation on Windows 2003 server

    HI Friends,
I have installed NW2004s SR1 on Windows 2003 server with Oracle 10g database successfully. My server has sufficient harddisk space as follows.
    C: 9.6GB
    G: 24GB
    H:64GB & I: 73GB.
    RAM is 6GB
While installing NW2004s i have defined a paging size on C: 400MB-1600MB and
i have set the option as System Manageble on other drives G, H& I drives. I did not get any Swap space problem while installing.
During installation I have chosen G: drive to store MirrorlogA, MirrorlogB, Oraarch, OriglogA, OriglogB folders of Oracle for redolog archives,.Total size of all these folders is 17.4 GB
G: drive has one more folder Program files which is of 155KB  and no other files exist in it.
But My system says that I am running out of Space on G: drive and free space available now is only 44MB.
My question is where has the rest 5GB of space gone? Is it consumed as a part of Paging file which i have set on this drive as System manageble??
I have set the same option on other drives too i..e H & I. But i am not facing any space issues for these drives.
What could be going wrong?? Please suggest me how to correct this
    Thanks

    Hi All,
I am trying to face some problem to install oracle 10g database on windows 2003 server with service pack 2. Once I start to installation it give me an error "Error in writing to directory 'c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\temp\orainstall2004xxx'. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has at least 45MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue"
I double-insured that there is enough disk-space and I am also in the Administrators-Group.
Please guide me for the above problem although I have done oracle 9i database installation with the same configuration.

  • PDK Content on NW2004S SR1 missing

In our nw2004s-SR1 productive installation of EP,
we are missing the menu-point "Java Developer".
We know, that these menu-point comes with the PDK-Content
SCA-Archive, which can be downloaded from SDN.
Our goal is, to install the Productive-EP similar
    to our SneakPreview-EP.
We tried already to install the PDK-SCA Archive via
    SDM, but it fails.
    I can't believe, that the PDK-Content SCA-Archive from
SDN is the right PDK-Content for a productive environment.
Will be nice, if anybody can help us.
    Regards, Alex.

    Hello Marc,
I ran into the same issue. After a lot of trial and error I eventuelly found out, was the problem was...
I had to do two things to resolve this:
    1. Download the XML file containing the SP stack definition:
-You'll find the instructions for downloading this file on the Support Package Stacks Download Page for NW2004s in the box 'Additional information'.
-Put the XML file in the JSPM inbox (Folder '/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in' on a standard installation).
    2. Update the SDM:
-Download the file with the description 'SP07 for SAP SOFTW. DELIV. MANAGER 7.00' from the Support Package Stacks Download Page
-SAP Note 860939 explains how to update the SDM
    Hope this helps...

  • Please help me in finding and downloading NW2004s SR1 from SAP SMP

    Hello Experts,
    Good day,
I downloaded all the required files to install NW 2004s SR1 4 months back. But I didn't realize that I forgot to download main file i.e Master Installation file for SR1. Now when I am trying to download it from SMP, I can see only NW 2004s SR2. I tried various search options. Can you please guide me , where can I find the Master Installation file for NW 2004s SR1.
You may advice me to try NW2004s SR2 itself. but if I start downloading all the files required for SR2, it will take a month for me to download for the network speed I have. So please advice me about SR1 download.
Thanks in advance for taking your time in helping me or going through this query.
    Regards,
    Farooq.

    Hello Mr. Rajath,
Thank you for taking your time and answering my question. I tried that as well, because IM for SR2 is only 35 MB. But the installation will start saying that its only for SR2. And I was not able to use the components which I already have.
Can you please advice me any other way possible.
    Regrads,
    Farooq.

    Hi Wolfgang,
I had luck installing it at home (after serveral restarts and hours...), but not on my company notebook. This seems to be a different problem and I am hoping to get an answer here.
Here are some helpful hints (one/more of them is/are successful):
    1) Search your pc for JAVA-installations. Remove them all completly (also path and lib etc.). Install now "j2re-1_4_2_09-windows-i586-p.exe" (not older, not newer)
    2) The database-password which you have to enter during install should not be longer than 5 characters
    3) The host-name should be no longer than 8 characters without "-/_"-chars (don't forget the host-file with the loopback-adapter)
    4) Do not use the default "c:\SAP" directory. Use e.g. "c:\SAPNSP" instead
    5) Remove all sap-services from the services file. On my pc the services-file GROWS, that means with every (failed-)installation all entries are doubled!
    6) Copy the dvd to a hard disc directory and install from hard disc to "c:"
    7) My running services are:
    sql6  7210/tcp
    sapdbni 7269/tcp
    sapmsNSP  3600/tcp
    sapg00  3300/tcp
    Good luck!

  • Installation problem on SUSE 12.1

    Hi
I'm a Linux beginner and I am trying to install LV on SUSE 12.1
I've also posted my problems on Lava:
    http://lavag.org/topic/15240-labview-installation-problem-on-suse-121/
The installation started and it looks quite all right, but when I try to start LabVIEW, the application just sits in the taskbar for about 20 seconds and then just disappears.
     Any ideas?
Is there a way to debug to see what's going on?
    Cheers,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Unfortunately, there are no versions of LabVIEW supported on SUSE 12.1 at present. Here's a link to LabVIEW version compatibility with different Linux distributions. I saw from your other forum that you're attempting to install LabVIEW 2009, which is certified for SUSE 11.0 at the latest.

  • Xp_logininfo Installation problem

    Hello gurus,
I'm facing the same problem as described in this link:
Re: xp_logininfo "Installation problem on windows 2003 with Sql 2005"
the error I get is similiar:
<i>The below message comes from executing the command master..xp_logininfo '<domain>\<user> ' Msg 15404, Level 16, State 11, Procedure xp_logininfo, Line 62 Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user '<domain>\<user> ', error code 0x534. The statement has been terminated</i>
but I just don't get how to solve it.
-I've tried to use the profiler but didn't find any information that will help me to solve.
-One of the guys wrote to add "logon rights" to the user ... what does it mean ?
    Please advice,
    Dimitry Haritonov

    Hi sven,
Thank you very much for the quick and direct answer.
The problem was that the user that runs the SQL SERVER service didn't have authorization to retrieve information from active directory.
I've changed the service user, run the sapinst again, and after it succeeded I've returned the previous user.
    Best regards,

  • Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)

First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation  worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",
(Go to my blog to see it with snapshots: Computer Science: Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit))
it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w,  deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
    and
    then
I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)"  from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
    The values I filled for
    1) Global Database Name :  orcl
    2) System Identifier : orcl
    3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
    4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
    5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
    6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
    Username : sys/ as sysdba
Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
After this you are ready to write your first SQL command.

Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

  • Lightroom 3.2 Installation Problem on Windows 7 64-bit

Lightroom 3.2 Installation Problem on Windows 7 64-bit
I can't install Lightroom 3.2 (German) on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
While copying the extracted program files the following error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
I found out that other users had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution.
Perhaps it is a Microsoft .NET Framework related problem. But after installing .NET Framework 4 nothing changed.
Thanks for ideas to solve the problem.

Thanks for your advice, Mr. McLion.
I downloaded the 3.4.1 version and started the installation as administrator. Unfortunately the same error message occured again.
Then I tried to install the 32-bit version (although I prefer a 64-bit program on a 64-bit operating system). A similar error message appeared at the same point of installation progress, but with another combination of numbers and letters in brackets.
