Installation problem on Win2K Advanced Server
I am getting the following error while installing the Java COM bridge:
"Error while registering J2EE Client Access services COM bridge registry keys."
Any suggestions on how to work around this?
A search for this error code produced a sizeable list: http://search.java.sun.com/search/java/index.jsp?qp=&nh=10&qt=Error+while+registering+J2EE+Client+Access+services+COM+bridge+registry+keys&col=javaforums&x=31&y=11

0129-3260483,4120483how come you have the cds and no access to sapnet? strange....
basically these are the steps:
-> install win 2k server
-> check for all hardware and software requirements (needed for sap installation)
-> install oracle server 9.2 and the appropriate patchset (being 9.2.0.8 at the time) and the interim patches (opatch)
-> install sap central instance using sapinst (you will be asked for the different cds such as java, kernel etc.)
-> install sap database instnace using sapinst (you will be asked for the different cds such as java, kernel etc.)
-> apply post-installation steps
but: without the installation guide and the relevant sapnotes it will be difficult to succeed....get access to sapnet asap!

Problems with RAC installation with Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Hello,
I've two servers in cluster mode with W2K Advanced Server, and a RAID-5 array of 4 disks shared by both of them. My problem is that I've installed The Cluster Service of Windows in order to have an active/passive configuration of my servers, because I have a common directory structure that is accessed by the PC's of the LAN.
By another hand, I want to install Oracle Real Application Cluster to manage my Oracle database but after create the extended partition and the logical drives when I execute the file \preinstallation_rac\clustersetup\clustersetup.exe to create the cluster, when I select the option Create a cluster the following error message appears me:
"Any disk Oracle partition has been found. Stop this wizard, create an Oracle partition and try it
again."
I'd like to know if it's possible to have the Service Cluster of Windows 2k and the Oracle clusterware?¿ Altough before begining the installation I've stopped my Cluster Service as documentation suggests. If somebody knows what it's happening to me I'd be really very grateful.
Thanks in advance,
IsabelHello Joel,
I've already read all documentation provided by Oracle about Real Application Clusters
and I've not found anything to solve my problem. Certainly I want to use OCFS but when I
try to execute preinstall_rac\clustersetup.exe to install CFS the error appear and I can't
continue with RAC installation.
Besides I've tried command "lsnodes -v" and got :
Could not load CM.dll
Could not initialize cluster
And when I've tried to run "clustercheck" I've got :
** Copy File: Create Directory failed - Error 183
** Directory = \\192.168.1.111\Cy$\Temp\opsm
Created directory \\192.168.1.112\Cy$\Temp\opsm
Could not copy file to other nodes [error = 183]
I've read metalink Note 186130.1 Clustercheck Fails with Windows Error 183 and the only
proof I haven't done is get the clustercheck.exe release1(9.0.1).
Any suggestion will be very appreciated. Thanks,
Isabel -
Dear All,
I hope someone can help me here with EPM 11.1.2.1 installation problem on my notebook - Windows Server 2008 R2 x65, 8 GB RAM, running SQLServer 2008 Express.
I installed Hyperion Foundation. The installation and configuration went through successfully.
I am facing two problems:
Problem 1
When I try to access the workspace through the URL http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp, I get error:
Quote
Failure of server APACHE bridge:
No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF.
End-quote
Problem 2
Also, the service "Hyperion EPM Server" service not able to start. When I try to start, I get error message:
Quote
The Hyperion EPMA Server service on Local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.
End-quote
I tried checking everything but can't seem to figure out what's going wrong.
I have uploaded (1) EPM Config Manager screenshot (2) EPM System diagnostic report (3) EPM Registry editor output and (4) system services listing at
http://www.mediafire.com/?pr9l1v99w4d9u4r,c3vggxeibqkxbo2,lyzclu2aggbn8qh,8kur9gxal5b361z
It would be very grateful if someone can have a look and help me.
Many thanks in advance for any help / pointers / suggestions.
- NeilHi Pablo,
Thanks to your suggestion for database, problem #2 seem to be resolved. I am now able to start EPMA Service.

Lock up during install on WIN2K Advanced Server
I am trying to install Oracle8i Personal Edition ver. 8.1.7 on Windows 2000 advanced server. When I try to install using the Universal Installer it locks up about 20% of the way through, with no error message. Is anybody aware of any known issues. Please Help.
Thank youOops, that was 512Meg , not 512K...
I've downloaded the 9.0.1 zip 9iFS_90110.zip (105,219,938 bytes)
and tried to install on 2 separate servers with no success.
I follow the install instructions:
"1. Launch the Oracle Universal Installer from the CD, located
in the following
path:
<CD-ROM>\install\win32\setup.exe "
..but nothing happens. There is a brief flurry of activity of
the drive, but nothings shows up in the Windows Task List and it
absolutely doesn't start... on either server. One is 512K which
might be tight but the other is 1G ram which ought to be
sufficient.
I can find no log entries or error messages.
The only anomoly I can see is that the downloaded zip file is
102,754 KB, not the 105,219,938 bytes advertised.
Any suggestions?

Oracle 9i on Win2K Advanced Server
I wonder if anyone had simmilar problem?
When I run installer (either through autorun or manually) the cursor turns into hourglass for few seconds and then the program terminates with no error messages.
Good old P4 installer problem right?... Except I got dual P3
Went through the usual walkaround (copy to HDD, rename simcjit.dll, etc.
Run again, same result.
Downlaoded OUI, works fine untill the point where I click install... then terminates with no error messages
I have another machine right next to the W2K P3. This one is P4 WinXP. Installer runs out of the box, no workaround necessary.
Any idea, anyone?
Any help will be very much appriciated. No that wasn't it. I have SP4 installed.
I did find out what was crashing installer.
If you got Dell computer with NVidia Video card and have Win2K - make sure you install the "Nvidia diaplay software update" when you run your "windows update".
I got no idea what video driver got to do with Oracle installation, but it works like a charm... Uninstall Nvidia - Oracle crashes, Install it back - Oracle runs. -
Installation Problems on Win2k
Hi,
i am trying to install J2EE on Win2k... so far I have nothing but problems... i set the environment vars as suggested by the installation guide... still i can't get server to start ... n e way... here are details :
OS : Window 2k - Service Pack 3
J2sdkee1.3.1 installation dir : D:\j2sdkee1.3.1
J2sdkse1.4.1 installation dir : D:\Program Files\s1studio_jdk\j2sdk1.4.1
Environment variables set as :
J2EE_HOME : D:\j2sdkee1.3.1;
JAVA_HOME : D:\Program Files\s1studio_jdk\j2sdk1.4.1;
PATH : D:\j2sdkee1.3.1;D:\Program Files\s1studio_jdk\j2sdk1.4.1;D:\Ant\jakarta-ant-1.3;
Now tell me what am i doing wrong...
thanx in advanceYou probably want to set the bin/ directories in
your pathvariable.
Nevertheless, you should be able to start the server
by doubleclicking in explorer-window. If this does not work, start a command-window, and try starting j2ee.bat
in this window. You should at least get some error messages. -
JRUN 4 installation problem on win2k
We are installing a trial version of JRUN 4 prior to
purchasing the license. This is a windows 2000 box running nothing
else, just installing everything from the ground up. I installed
the most recent JVM from java.sun.com: JRE 5 v 6. then installed
Jrun 4, then installed updater 6. I can't configure Jrun. The
service has not started. The windows error logs list the dreaded
"error 2" and the JRun logs are very complex. Is this a known issue
with win2k?
thanks,
DonI was attempting to install this on a VMWare partition. I
backed out of that and installed it on the main server with no
errors. I don't know that there were any differences with the two
partitions, but that solved the problem. I then got the:
500 There is no web application configured to service your
request
error. I am debugging that right now.

9i installation problem on win2k
setup.exe does not work for my Win2k (CPU-1G, RAM-256M, HD-13G, 5G free space)with service package 3(actually, it runs and stops without any information). I also tried to run setup from ..\Disk\install\win32\setup and renamed the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old. Nothing worked out.
Thanks in advanced for any suggestion.

Thanks in advanceHi,
welcome to SDN!
To your problem: did you make sure the master password you set during installation is less than 9 charachters as discussed in the Installation Troubleshooting?
P.S. I'm moving this thread to the forum dedicated to the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, Java EE 5 Edition. -

Thanks in advance,pparkko wrote:

Try opening a command prompt (cmd) and running the command from the command line.
Then you can see what is going wrong.I have a question, I just upgraded our test 11i database (9i) to 10g (10.2), as a part of that upgraded forms, reports, graphics to patchset 18. Now planning to install 10giAS on appsTier on which forms, Apache and discoverer running. If I install 10giAS in differnet home, how can I get that in to appsTier?, does it mean adapcctl script no longer be used to start webservices?. I haven’t done this before, if my question is stupid, please ignore :). -

Installation problem in CRM 2007 Server
Hi All,
Installation of CRM 2007 IDES giving the trouble at importABAP phase. The installation is going on Windows 2003 server 64 bit, on Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 and J2SDK-1.4.2_17..
It finished 17 steps out of 19, 1 failed and 1 is waiting..
I done some changes, still it is directly going to the failed step(old installation). How can i start from 16th phase of importABAP.
Otherwise is there any way to solve this, I tried from <SID>adm account also still it is giving the problem..

XI 3.0 Installation Problem: no central managment server running
Hi, I am totally new to BO our company just purchased the application and I have installed XI 3.0 on one of our server. I have setup the DB and the installation finished successfully. However I can't find CMS anywhere on the server. It seems like all the other XI 3.0 components are there Business view manager, central configuration manager, etc. they are all in the program list.
The only thing I didn't install is Tomcat. In Central configuration Manager ther Server Intelligence Agent is running. When I try to connect to the server in Business view Manager I receive the following error "The system servername cannot be contacted, but there is no Central Managment Server running at port 6400."
During the installation for "Web Application Server" part I checked the "other" option since I want to use IIS. I have a feeling I need to do some type of post configuration for IIS? Where do I perform this?
Our setup is:
Window Server 2003 SP2 with all the latest window updates
The latest XI 3.0 (I downloaded it from the product page)
My questions are:
1. Does XI work with IIS at all?
2. Do I need to install Tomcat and run some kind of connector to have IIS work?
3. What am I missing for my XI 3.0 it seem the core component is missing (CS)?

Moved from Xcelsius forum to BOE AdministrationHi Allan,
In answer to your questions - XI 3.0 does not have an IIS interface right now. You will need to install a java application components in order to access the end user interface for viewing reports (InfoView), the report viewers, the web services and SDKs and the management console (CMC). The easiest way to do this is to choose the default Tomcat components in the installation and work from there.
If you left everything else as default, then you will have all the necessary application components installed to get the system up and running. It may just be that your CMS has not started for some reason. Try stopping and restarting the Server Intelligence Agent (SIA) in the Central Config Manager (CCM) - found in the Start/Programs/Business Objects group.
Once started, try clicking on the "Manage Servers" icon of the CCM (the one with a server and a check mark on it). This should allow you connect to the system and see which servers have started. IF you cannot connect, the next step would be to check the windows Event Log. See if the CMS service started OK. If it didn't the log should provide you with more information, which you can post here for further assistance.
If it did, and you still cannot connect, you may need to review your network firewall settings and/or your DEP status (see the properties panel for My Computer, choose the Advanced tab, select the Performance settings button, then the Data Execution Prevention tab).
Happy hunting.

Hi,
I tried to install Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) on my Windows 2003 server SP2, however I couldn't manage to succeed this.
I tried on 3 different win2003 server SP2 machines and couldn't able to install properly.
I easily installed and run this HTTP server on my Windows 7 machine. However on the other partition of my PC
windows server 2003 is installed. It didn't worked on this OS.
Once I was somehow able to install OHS on my 64 bit Windows 2008 Server, but again never:((
I got the following error messages during the install.

- Under which user are you installing, does this user have all the rights to create and start stuff.
- Have you first installed a weblogic server (this should be installed) and did associate any components with the weblogic domain?
I usually do not associate anything with my weblogic domain and configure the httpd.conf file for the Apache server by hand instead of using the enterprise manager.
Once the WebLogic server is installed i follow the following steps
Installation WebTier
Run setup.exe
Select Install Software - Do Not Configure.
Click Next.
Prerequisite Checks --> Next.
Accept the default installation directory.
Click Next.
Uncheck i wish to... click Next (in the pop-up Yes)
Click Install.
Click when the installation it finished and click Finish
Configuration WebTier
Run the file <WebTier-Home>/bin/config.bat.
Click Next
Uncheck Associate Selected Components with WebLogic Domain and click Next
Accept the defaults and click Next
Enter the parameters for the WebCache
Web Cache Administrator Password: password
Confirm Password: password
Click Next.
Select Auto Port Configuration and click Next.
Uncheck I wish to... and click Next. (pop-up Yes)
Click Configure
Click Next and Click Finish
When i follow the above steps an instance of the webtier is running.
