Installation problem with Acrobat 9

Hi,
I have successfully installed all programs contained in CS4 Design
Premium (German language version) except for Acrobat 9. At the end of
the installation process a message pops up saying that Acrobat 9 could
not be installed. I tried again but to no avail. I even uninstalled
Acrobat 8 but it did not help either. Adobe support cannot be contacted
on weekends but I urgently need Acrobat 9 to complete a project. Is
there anyone who had the same problem and can give me a hint on what I
should do to be able to install Acrobat 9. I am running Windows XP SP3.
Your help will be greatly apreciated.

I have uninstalled Adobe Reader 9 and all keys of Acrobat in the
registry. This time the installation of Acrobat 9 Pro was successful.
Therefore I presume that Adobe Reader 9 was the cause of the failed
installation.
Perhaps this information will help anybody else having the same problem.

  • Easier and better ways to solve current problems with Acrobat?

    Is there no better and easier way to solve the problems (installation, re-installing and crashing) with Acrobat? I really think that the ball is in Acrobat's corner right now, because I should not (for example) need to deactivate and re-activate my subscription in order to get AcrobatPro XI to work on my computer, let alone deinstalling an older version that (for now) does work, risking that in the end neither of them work. I need the (great) AdobeCloud applications to do my work as a freelancer, and I really cannot afford this kind of trouble with my applications, nore loose time repairing them. These are difficult times as it is.

    Sorry, I can't. When I installed it there was no message that said I had to deinstall the old version first, and with other Adobe CC applications there had been no trouble at all, so I installed it with The previous version still on my computer.
    After installing, neither of them would start up properly, so I deinstalled version XI, after which the old version worked again, but my Adobe Application Manager does not let me download the XI version a second time, so I cannot try again.

    The description of the issue you originally presented isn't something that I've seen happen to Acrobat when installed as a part of Creative Cloud.
    Could you provide a specific description of the behavior that occurs when you launch Acrobat XI now?

  • Installation problem with Siebel8.0 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 system

    We are having installation problem with Siebel8.0 on Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 system.
    Using interface, when installation come up to “Installing Wizard” window where Gateway Name Server Configuration window should take place, everything just freeze up

    I'm facing the same error message while install Siebel 8.0 on OEL. But before I had this ksh problem, it complains about disc space first, and I actually has plenty of disk space under the directory (it needs only 0.7 G and I have 17G free). Anybody has encountered such problem before?

  • Adobe X PDF files converted to jpg, edited and converted back to PDF have ragged, unclear text.  I didn't have this problem with Acrobat 9 standard.  What is the remedy for this.  If this is the best I can expect, I won't be able to use X standard.

    I can't imagine any worse workflow than converting to JPEG to edit text, then back to PDF. Text in a PDF is a vector thing, smooth at all resolutions. And JPEG is made for photos. EVERY conversion to JPEG and back loses quality but how much loss there is will vary.
    If you must go to an image format, try PNG.

    I cannot use Reader because it keeps on asking to accept EULA; Mac OS 10.9, Reader 11 , when downloading it says " by clicking on Install you automatically accept EULA " : I've installed and uninstalled it many times, when I launch it it does not allow me to accept any EULA I'm getting desperate please help

    I meant that there isn’t any box where I can accept the terms etc. - when I ‘ve downloaded it said “ by clicking on Install you agree to accept the terms and conditions “
    Anyway now I’ve cancelled some plug-ins from the library and it seems it works

  • Software Installation Problems with Media Source and Nomad Explo

    Hello Creative Users,
    recently I had to reinstall my operating system on the PC. I have an IBM Thinkpad R30 with a Sitecom USB2.0 pccard. I am running WinXP Pro SP2 with all latest updates.
    I have a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra with Firmware .20.08 and an update harddri've of 80GB.
    As long as I was running the software on my previous installation everything worked fine.
    I installed the driver .26.02. This recognized the Jukebox. Musicmatch is able to communicate to the Jukebox and recognizes all files on it.
    When I installed Nomad Explorer I got an error ctregserv failed because ctin...dll is not found.
    When I tried to install Media Source from the original disk it showed an error after 30% Media Source not found. Install Media Source before continuing.
    This is what I received now with all verisons of Media Source and Noamd Explorer incl. .30.0.
    Can someone help me as synchronizing with Musicmatch is a pain.

    Hi everyone,
    as I saw many questions regarding installation problems with Mediasource or Nomad Explorer
    in this forum I will answer my own question right here. I was pointed to the answer by a friend with a similar problem on some other software.
    When trying to install the Creative software under WinXP SP2 I happens that the registration does not work. the reason are missing write attributes to the keys for
    Creative software. To correct that go to: Start, Run and enter regedit. Hit ok and you are in the registration editor.
    Find the Creative location unde HKEYS_SOFTWARE. Click right mouse button and choose
    properties.
    Check full access for your user as well the system user. click on advanced and mark both all the users you want to install from. Check the lower box below the user window sayin something about roghts being propagetd to lower folders etc. Cklick conform and ok, click confirm on previous screen and close regedit.
    Now you should be ok and able to install.

    port 1. I did try it on port 2. The odd thing is that this mobo is the first that I have seen where SATA is not recognized in the BIOS setup.
    I did solve the problem, though. I bought a Via chipset mobo from a different manufacturer. I was tired of spending hours on this project and the fact that MSI tech support told me that it was Microsoft's problem was no help. I didn't want to create a separate drive image of this one mobo. The fact is that MSi created a mobo that required loading additional drivers for SATA to be recognized- I have not worked with any other manufacturer who required additional drivers loaded to work with SATA (a drive standard). 
    The new mobo fired right up, recognized the SATA, and I was able to Sysprep the PC in no time. Case solved!

    my window 7 is English version, which is the same as this design Suite. I can install other programs like Photoshop which is included in this Suite, but I just can't install Acrobat X Pro...so I think it's not language problem... anything else could possibly cause this? thanks!!

  • Problems with Acrobat 8 and Windows 7 64 bit

    Hi all
    I need help with Acrobat 8 and Windows 7.
    During the installation I'm asked to locate the file AdobePDF.dll on the disk. Selected the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AMD64.
    The installation finishes without any other problem.
    The problem arises when I want to create a pdf from a Word document. I'm using Office 2007. When I select he option to create a pdf from a file, I get message in the attached image.
    If I try to used the Adobe PDF printer from within Word, nothing happes. The small printer icon apprears in the Windows task bar, but that is all. If I double click on the icon, I can see the print job, but that's all. There is no dialog box that asks me to save the file.
    Assistance will be apppreciated.

    Acrobat 8 is not certified for Win7, particularly the x64 version. If you got the installation to go, the first step is to update AA8 to at least AA8.2. The x64 with XP required at least AA8.2 and I suspect that has not changed. I would suggest updating to the latest, either from the help menu (until no more updates are available) or by downloading the updates from the adobe.com>downloads page. For the latter, download ALL updates after your current version and install them in ORDER. They are not cummulative in most cases. You only need to reboot after the final update. The updates may get you going. If not, you may simply have to upgrade to AA9 or search for what others have been able to do in your situation.

    I originally tried to install the Acrobat 9.0 Prof but had problems with
    that also. It kept telling me that I needed to verify the original serial
    number for the upgrade, but I've never had the full acrobat on this
    laptop. So I decided that perhaps the reader was interfering and
    uninstalled it. Not only did it still not let me install the full Acrobat,
    now I can't get the reader to install.
    The download gets 50% through and stops. A screen comes up asking to

    extract, but still nothing happens.
    Someone in one of the forums mentioned using Microsoft Windows Installer,

  • Problems with Acrobat X!

    I need to reinstall Acrobat X because I un-installed it after a persistant error that said I needed to unistall. Now that I have uninstalled, Adobe Application Manager says it is already installed, and won"t let me reinstall. What do I do?

    I would get onto Adobe Support, and I mean phone, Adobe support.
    I do not think people fully understood Creative Cloud when it started - and I include myself here. I certainly saw it as a traditional means of storing and installing software. I.e. if I was unhappy with an installation I would delete it and then re-inatall a fresh copy.
    With creative cloud - and I am guessing here - registration of what you have installed is held with Creative Cloud. Therefore if you delete a program, yes it is off your system but it is still registered with Creative Cloud. Hence when you try to re-download and install as far as Creative Cloud is concerned the program is still on your machine and therefore you are not permitted to re-download. That is why, I'm sure, Adobe recomeded users do not delete programs they are having problems with.
    Actually when I did delete Acrobat X, I copied a version onto another drive, that was how I was able to restore it.
    I would get in touch with Adobe direct. Although the structure of Creative Cloud was described in advance and yes Adobe did warn users not to delete programs if they were having problem with them, I don't remember them telling us that a deleted program on a users machine did not delete the reference on Creative Cloud. I am not sure Adobe appreciated that some users still saw the software in the traditional mode. You were not trying to cheat the system, you were attempting to resolve a software situation. The problem is that Creative Cloud is a virtual software delivery system and as far as Adobe is concerned you have been delivered your software.
    I would get onto Adobe. I am sure if you explain the situation they will be ale to resolve it for you. Although we were warned about the unique nature of Creative Cloud, I am not sure Adobe gave sufficient thought to the kinds of problems that you, and I am sure others including myself are being faced with because we did not fully appreciate the nature of Creative Cloud.

  • Installation problem with NW'04 SR1: database connection failed

    Hi all,
    while installing NW '04 SR1 on Windows Server 2003 SP1 and MS SQL Server 2000 SP4 I ran into an error related to the database connection. While performing the step "Load Java Database content" SAPinst crashes with the message
    com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Could not load class com.ddtek.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver.
    The connection to the SLQ Server with e.g. the Query Analyzer is OK. I had a problem with this installation setup before (have a look at the corresponding <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=338638&tstart=0">thread</a> ), the JDBC drivers where missing on the installation master but after copying them in the right direction the installation went on with no problem up to this point...
    Has anybody an idea what could have happened here? Is this maybe a problem connected to the one I recently had

    Check all the parameters to set and run pre requisite checker before starting installation.
    Keep in mind that before starting any SAP installation you should always run prerequisite checker.
