Installation progress for apps in app store
How can I see the installation progress after clicking INSTALL for an app in App Store; I find there are some apps that are taking lot of time for installation, hence wanted to check their progress.
Besides taking app size into consideration, the other factor you can control to speed things up is where/how you connect to the Internet. The better the link, the faster the download/install process will conclude. Unless you have extraordinarily good cellular data service, Wi-Fi usually trumps that.
If you move away from the app window in the App Store before it concludes the download, can always go back by going to the Purchased tab. Sort by Most Recent and the one downloading will be in the upper left corner of the list. When the download concludes, the progress circle will change momentarily to the "cloud with downward arrow" icon while your entitlement to the app gets registered in your AppleID records, then will change to an Open button, since the app is located in the iPad's local storage.

Cannot get progress to show in app store download of Mountain Lion
Having to re-download Mountain Lion on my mid 2009 MBP from overseas. The ML app shows "downloading" in dock with progress bar under it (and just a hint of blue for hours now), but in the App Store on the Purchases tab it just shows the Mountain Lion app with a gray "Download" button. I want to see the progress of the download since I'm overseas and it could take a couple days. If I click on the "Download" button it goes clear for a minute but goes back to the gray "Download". I've tried closing and re-opening App Store, restarting the computer and I've also tried doing it all in Safe Mode. No difference. I can't be sure something is actually happening without a progress meter. Any ideas out there?
There may be no apparent "progress bar" in the App Store. It may be a bug associated with this particular download. Unfortunately I am not in a position to determine if this is related to you being overseas or not.
To determine if it is actually downloading use Launchpad. You should see a fairly obvious new icon with an associated progress bar. Make sure you check every Launchpad page by swiping left / right.
The downloaded file will also be in your Applications folder. When it finishes, it looks like this (Mavericks icons are shown; Mountain Lion is similar):
Check your Downloads folder. Before it finishes downloading, it will have a "progress bar" at the bottom. While it is downloading it looks like this:
If it's paused, click the icon to restart it.
Once it completes the icon will appear in Applications and Launchpad, it's just easier to find in Launchpad.

If it really is not downloading read Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads
Open the Mac App Store.
From the Store menu, choose Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Click Purchases to get to your Purchases Page.
Click the Resume button next to the app name.
If that doesn't work, "sign out" of the App Store, and sign back in again.
If that doesn't work, try restarting your Mac.
If that doesn't work, write back. -

Anyone else buy "Themes for iWeb" in App Store?
Ok, I sent in my review a second time and this time it seems to have been published. I just cannot get the application to work, but the developer has emailed me and repeated the instructions. I followed them and it still doesn't work in Lion.
If anyone else bought this app from the Mac App Store, please post here, especially if you succeeded in getting it to work.
I have bought themes before off the web, and the download was easy. Just click on the installer pkg and it gets set up in iweb and the themes appear.
But the installation system for "Themes for iweb" is different.
I like a couple of them, so I hope I can get it to work. If I were really expert I could just relax and figure the developers need to fix things, but my level of understanding is such I still have to understand I possibly screwed up the process. Hope I can get it to work one way or the other.

Which is pretty much a reasonable assumption.And you do not neccessarily need a password for an in app purchase.

How can I copy installation/setup files of an App downloaded from Mac App Store?
I just purchased and downloaded Xcode on my Macbook Pro and now want to install the same on my MacBook Air and iMac but I don't want download them again and again. Isin't their anyway by which I can copy the installation/setup files of that App and paste it on another Mac and use my iTunes account credentials to verify the App with Apple servers, so that they know it's legit install. And also keep the copy as backup so that, I can install that App again after I format my computer or use it for future use.

The Mac App Store remembers all apps you purchase with your account. Apps you purchase and install from Mac App Store can also be copied to an external hard drive, USB Flash Drive, CD/DVD, or backed up via Time Machine.
If you save a copy of an app to removable media (such as an external hard drive) or file share, simply drag the app back from its storage location to your Applications folder. When you open the restored app for the first time, you may be required to sign in with the Apple ID account that was used to purchase the app. -
What is a quick alternative to launching an enterprise DPS app if Apple Store rejects the App? We are under a major deadline and can't wait for Apple to approve. We want to host the app elsewhere. How do we host our DPS app on our client's website? Thanks.
Unless I misunderstand the question, you can't do what you're asking to do. Apple doesn't allow you to bypass their store and host public apps on a website. The exception is an enterprise app, which requires an Enterprise account with both Apple and Adobe. This type of enterprise app can be distributed only within the company. Another option is to add the development app to several devices and use those for your demo. -

1 to create a big camera for i pads and ipods and iphones so we can put it in another ipad or ipod or iphone and it has a zoom lens

H.MThe iPad 1 can't run the newer operating systems. It'd be like trying to play a bluray disc in your 6 year old dvd player....it simply lacks the hardware to make the software run.
No suggestion about the camera, but given that Apple's attitude seems to be to focus more on the more mobile devices for photography (the iPhone and Touch cameras got features, the iPad and mini didn't), that is highly unlikely. You can tell Apple what you want, but you'd probably be money ahead to get a digital camera.
as to the photos, anything put on via iTunes has to come off via iTunes.Your main alternative would be to look for photo apps that offer file exchange that may give you more functionality. -

Did you try to change the location in Settings/iTunes & AppStore/AppleID -> view Apple ID, log in ->Country/Region -> India?

why when i want to download a free app from app store it asks for my apple id and when i give my apple id it then says "this apple id has not yet been used in the itunes store". i dont even know what that means and it will this happen everytime?
If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

How can I view my full billing history for the app and music stores without iTunes installed?
I just received an email receipt from Paypal showing a $12.99 purchase from iTunes. I almost NEVER purchase anything over around five dollars in the app or music store. Since PayPal does not show what this purchase was for, I have not received the receipt from Apple yet, and I cannot find anyway to look up online what this purchase was for....I need help to find out ASAP what this purchase was. If my account has been compromised or if I have been incorrectly charged for something, I would like to get the issue handled immediately. I do not want to install iTunes on my PC (nor should I have to for Pete's sake), but I cannot see anything recent at all in my app or music history on my iPad (not that I would ever purchase anything for $12.99 anyway...I just don't). As long as you have a form of payment (credit or debit card) with a USA source, and with a billing address in the USA, then you just need to change your payment information on your account to that, change your country in the store settings, and you will then be able to shop in the USA store.
Your AppleID will work in any country's store, as long as your payment source and billing addres are also specific to that country (and you are in that country as well, as there may be IP filters in place to stop use outside of the country). -

Yes. Delete the Apps that were not Purchased using Your Apple ID.
But a Restore as New is the way to go. -
I explained it most in my question but I am getting charged double for songs that I have already paid for and am not going to pay for twice because that is messed up. But I want to get some apps from the store and it wont let me because of $5.25. Who can I talk to about resolving this issue?
You're right, it would have been covered under warranty. But because of the user damage, chances are there's a 200-something dollar fee . If you explain to them that it had a defect previously, they might replace it for you at no charge. **MIGHT**. But they would have to believe that it had a defect previously.

it only make sense.You can use your iTunes Store balance to purchase from the Mac App Store, but not from the Apple Online Store.
