Installation won't work :(

Hi I have recently changed the hard drive on my macbook as the old one had stopped working. I am currently trying to install the Mac OS X install disc 1 that came with the computer.
So I have chosen my language and agreed to the licence, I am now at the select a destination page but to my dissapointment there is no destination to select the only option I can choose is to go back. Can anybody help me here, as I am thinking that if the problems continue I shall have no choice but to return using a PC as they are alot cheaper to maintain. Thanks for any help:)

You probably need to re-partition and reformat your disk with Disk Utility before attempting the installation. A MacBook needs a "GUID" partition scheme. See Kappy's detailed instructions here:

Skype Installer Won't Work

No matter what I do the Skype installer won't work. I download it, but when I double click on it it brings up the "give permission" thing. I click yes, and then it does absolutely nothing.

Try to install the currently latest Skype 7.4.0.102 version using this installer:

My computer froze and I had no choice but to turn it off. When I turned it back on, it would no longer open iTunes. It says "error 7 (windows error 14001). iTunes said to uninstall and then reinstall iTunes. Windows installer won't work.

My computer froze, so I had to finally turn it off. When I turned it on again, it wouldn't open iTunes. Error7 (Windows error 14001) appeared. I could not uninstall and reinstall iTunes because now Windows Installer isn't working either. Tried using "System Restore" from a backup, but still didn't fix problem. Tried online purchase of registry cleanup ("Error End"), but that didn't solve problem either.
How can I get iTunes to open? Any suggestions for getting Windows Installer to work? Thanks!

After Effects Cs6 Installation Won't Work!

Im am trying to install after effects cs6 but it keeps stopping a 2% and has all these things to make it work, i do everything it says (ive done it about 7 times) and it Still won't work! someone please help!

Please follow the following steps :
1. Disable the startup services : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html
2. Use the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool from the below link and try uninstall all the CS6 application.

3. After using the cleaner tool, please rename the following folders located at the below location :
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
if you use 32 bit system it would be C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
Rename the following folders ;
Adobe PCD -> Adobe PCDold
backup -> backupold
caps -> capsold
Then run the setup file again.

"file corrupt" error message when running full installer - normal installer won't work either.

I was having serious problems displaying images/video, so uninstalled so I could reinstall. Big mistake - ever since I've done this, FF absolutely won't install. The normal install .EXE(I'm using Windows 7) always gets to about a millimeter to the left in the status bar of where it crosses from "downloading" to "installing." I then tried the full installer in all 3 versions of English, all of which simply pop up a window saying "file is corrupt" with no explanation or options. Please help. I work from home and absolutely have to use FF as my browser for my job, and I'm missing an entire shift today because of it. Thanks!

Oracle 8.1.7 client installer won't work under windows 2000

I am trying to run the latest oracle client install of 8.1.7 on my windows 2000 PC and when I double click on it, it show the hour glass for a few seconds, then nothing happens. No screens come up at all. I have a Dell PC with an ATI rage 16 MB ultra card and I have dowlnloaded the latest jre 1.1.8 and nothing helps. If I try another kind of PC like my ibm, the installer works fine. Dell has no answers??

I found the solution on another discussion group and it worked for WinNT4 SP6a:
First copy your CD content to your hard disk (by example c:\temp), then rename file "symcjit.dll" (by example "symcjit.old") in directory "c:\temp\Stage\Components\Oracle.swd.jre\1.1.7.30\1\DataFiles\Expanded\jre\win32\bin".
Finally, run Setup.exe in directory "c:\temp\Install\Win32".

Why creative cloud installer won't work?

Hi,
I am trying to download the trial for premiere pro and I'm having a lot of trouble.
I click download and I have the creative cloud installer in finder. When I open it, creative cloud opens for about three seconds with a loading sign but then disappears. I have been trying to figure this out for an hour and nothing is working. I have closed everything that is open and have even restarted my computer. If you have a possible explanation for this please please please help me out.

ITunes installer won't work

First, sorry for my English.
I'm having an issue installing iTunes after format my computer (using ORIGINAL Windows 7 Home Premium, wich worked fine with iTunes before the format).
I've downloaded the last iTunes version from Apple site, but when I try to open the installer, but then its loading for 2 secs and then nothing is happen.
Please help me, I can't sync my iPhone!!

I save the Itunes download to my computer then when I hit install it looks like it is getting ready to install then stops...nothing happens.
A "silent" installer failure like that is usually caused by the installer getting damaged when it is being downloaded to the PC. (It's sort of an extreme case of an "Unknown Publisher" or "Invalid Signature" message.)
What browser have you been using for the download? Does it make any difference if you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa)?

Creative Suite Installer won't work (OS 10.9)

Install button on photoshop cs5 installer won't work

I've downloaded the dmg file of photoshop cs5 to reinstall on my mac and when I click on install nothing happens. Suggestions?

Thank you. I am verifying disc permissions right now and there are lots of little issues so maybe repairing them will solve my problem. I am looking at the log file but the log info doesn't get to a point where it shows any "errors" to analyze.

Installer won't work.

Everytime I try to install software I get the message to close Safari and Safari isn't even open. Any suggestions to bypass this. I tried opening Safari and then quitting it. I tried opening Safari and then force quitting it. Anyone? Anyone?

I've had this happen when I had an application open in another user account. Make sure no other user has safari open.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

Boot off your *original* Install Disk while holding down the *d key*, (not c key), then run the extended Apple Hardware Test. Some disks require you to use the Option key at bootup to select AHT. Some models have a separate AHT CD. Some have it on the Disc #2.
The Memory test can really only be trusted if it finds a problem, not if it doesn't find a problem.
