    Thoughts?  Resolution?  I would be grateful for any assistance.

    Hi Stephan,
    As I understand, you are encountering the issue that Workflow Manager Backend service terminating each time. May I know did you run the update cmdlets after you installed the updates for SharePoint server 2013? Please confirm it per the link below:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn133867.aspx
    If you haven’t run the updates cmdlets, I suspect this is an install issue. I’d suggest you re-install workflow manager to resolve the issue:
    1) Leave WFM/SB Farm
    2) Uninstall updates and application in the following order and one at a time:
    Service Bus CU1
    Workflow Manager CU1
    Service Bus 1.0
    Workflow Manager 1.0
    Workflow Manager Client 1.0
    Microsoft Windows Fabric
    3) Log into SQL server and delete Service Bus and Workflow Manager databases.
    SBManagementDB
    SBGatewayDB
    SBMessageContainer01
    WFManagementDB
    WFInstanceManagementDB
    WFResourceManagementDB
    4) Install in the following order one at a time through Web Platforms Installer:

  • Ongoing issue: Error 1321 during the patch installation

    I have seen this issue with 10x and 11x, however currently I'm working on 11. You can look at my previous posts to see additional details because I have posted about this issue in the past with no luck on obtaining a good answer. Luckily I now have more details and pinpointed the issue down to only patches. When installing a patch, the msp and Mcafee On Access scanner conflict because On Access scanner is scanning the file the same time the msp is attempting to modify the file, this results in the msp reporting Error 1321 (security permissions error). This has only been seen on Windows XP. I have never seen this occur when installing the main Adobe Reader installation, only on patches (msp's) and in this specific case it's the 11.0.03 patch. The obvious solution here is disabling Mcafee On Access scanner (which I have confirmed resolves the issue) however that is not an option in my environment. We refuse to leave the machines vulnerable during an installation. A case was opened with Mcafee and their engineers could find nothing that Mcafee was doing out of the ordinary and could find nothing proving Mcafee was doing anything incorrect on their side, they have requested Adobe look into this issue to find root cause. The bad news is that Adobe Reader is a free product therefore there is no premier support that I am aware of, which leaves me with this forum. This does not happen for other installations as often as it does for the Adobe Reader patches. It does not happen every time the patch is installed but it happens very often and the file reported with issues is different every time. My question is, does Adobe have any thoughts on why this could be happening so often for their patches (msp's)? Is there something being done out of the ordinary? Please feel free to let me know if any additional details are needed.

    Hi,
    The installer launches the MSI engine. From that point on, interactions between the MSI engine, the system, and other processes (all of which are not under Adobe's control) control the installation workflow--these processes include antivirus and backup programs. Adobe has worked with certain software companies to mitigate such issues, but in this case it may be true that both Mcafee and Adobe are doing the right thing and that it's up to the admin to make them play together nicely.
    Obviously, the reason this is not always an issue is because Mcafee is not always scanning in-play files. The coincidence of time and files is seldom, and so the problem appears sporadic.
    You must temporarily suspend scanning or keep retrying until success.

  • Adobe Flash installs McAfee crap - EVEN when told not to.

    I would reply in the TWO YEAR OLD thread, adobe flashplayer update installs mcafee crapware, but Adobe Employee Jeromie Clark, has closed the thread. I guess Adobe is dismissing feedback from customers over the last two years.
    So as instructed by Jeromie Clark, employee of Adobe and I quote "concern about the current shipping product version, feel free to start a thread specific to that experience."
    So Jeromie Clark, employee of Adobe, I have started this one thread, one of several thousands no doubt.
    So Jeromie Clark, employee of Adobe .... please explain why when I selected NOT to have MacAfee installed, WHY O WHY is Adobe be IGNORANT and IGNORING ME?
    Before you reach for your trusty screen shot you added to the TWO YEAR old thread that you closed ....
    Please consider the following screen shots ...
    Please note the URL in the tool tip at the bottom ....
    and then this one
    Please note the URL in the address field
    and there is this one
    Please note the filename -
    Oh yea, why o why can't this be simply "install_flash_Winx86_Vxx_NOMACAFEE" ??? Why are you being so cryptic?
    As fury animal in a TV ad here int heUK says with a slight Russian acent "Simples".
    Finally there is this image
    Now  Jeromie Clark, employee of Adobe, please explain the above ?????
    I await your detailed explination as to why when I have done everything correct, Adobe IGNORES my instruations?

    Thanks for taking the time to put this together.  Flash Player is tremendously expensive to develop, distribute and maintain, and Adobe provides bundled offers in the distribution process as part of a cost-recovery effort for products that we offer free of charge.  That said, the opt-out dialog is intended to work consistently, and the workflows are tested extensively before and after they're deployed with each release.  If the installers are not working correctly, I'm definitely interested in collecting evidence and escalating that to the appropriate team to effect a speedy resolution.
    Alternatively, if you would like to avoid the entire Flash Player installation workflow, that's possible today.  Flash Player is a built-in component of both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and higher.  For Chrome, all Flash Player updates are handled transparently through Chrome's update mechanism.  For Internet Explorer, updates are pushed out automatically through Windows Update.
    As you've noticed, Adobe also does not offer free technical support for free products.  I actually work on the product.  I'm also on vacation (Adobe's US offices are closed for the next two weeks), and am providing this assistance on my own time.  Adobe is a huge company, and it can be difficult to cut through the noise and get the right person's attention.  Please understand that I genuinely do care about the product and the people that use it, and would like to help you get this issue resolved.
    I spent a bunch of time testing out the various installer workflows on a clean WinXP machine.  I noticed that you had AdBlock Pro installed, so I tried with a current version of AdBlock pro as well.  I'm still not able to reproduce the issue that you're describing.  I was wondering if maybe you had missed the opt-out dialog once, and that there was a bug where we might not clear that preference on subsequent opt-outs, but I tested that scenario as well and it's working fine.  It's worth noting that I tested this on a hosted WinXP instance from a third-party vendor.  This is not coming from inside Adobe's network, so there's no potential for the problem to be masked by virtue of where the traffic comes from.
    I recorded a video of the testing.  If the workflow that you're using varies from mine, please let me know what I'm missing:
    Shared Files - Acrobat.com
    What we've found in the past that that these issues are typically self-inflicted, and are typically caused by ad-blocking or anti-tracking technology that modifies how the code on the download page is written to run.  While we don't really have any objection to using those tools (and we've modified the website to accommodate some of them in the past), it's not a workflow that we test -- particularly when multiple tools are used in tandem.  At that point, you're not running our code anymore.
    If I can get to a place where this reproduces for me, it's very easy to escalate the issue and get it fixed quickly.  The main problem -- and the reason that this complaint hasn't received any visible traction (my staff and I investigate this frequently) -- is that we've been unable to identify a specific scenario where this reproduces.  I'm not aware of anyone having seen this reproduce.
    1.) What version of Firefox are you using?  I tested against the current version (34.0.5).  The Extended Support release is at Firefox 31.x at this point.  If you're not on either, that may be part of the unintended result.  I'd encourage you to update.
    2.) What plug-ins and extensions are you using?  I'd like to mirror your configuration.  You can get a comprehensive list by copying the info from Firefox's about:support and about:plugins pages.  If your versions of those plugins are out of date, that might also be interesting. We'd encourage you to update those as well.
    3.) Are you using anything else that might modify the content or code coming from the Adobe website?  Maybe a security-oriented software firewall from an obscure vendor or something?
    Thanks!

  • Acrobat Pro XI problem+Accept End User License Agreement when opening a PDF inside IE

    Hi folks, this issue has been challenging.
    Acrobat Pro CC install
    W7 X64
    Deployment went ok after the code was worked out, but.....
    We use Desire to Learn content management system at the community college where I maintain the student computers at. When running D2L and a PDF has been embedded in some course material, I am getting the message below and the PDF won't open.
    “Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement" .
    The only fix so far is to run up Acrobat Pro and run the program once. Fine and dandy, but we are looking at 700+ machines to clear in this fashion. The other part of this scenario we we also utilize Respondus Lockdown Browser to invigilate exams through D2L. Because of the "lock down" features, the student can't even get back to the desktop to run Acrobat and clear the message.
    I have tried a number of GPO entries to no avail. As well, disabled the IE PDF viewer add-on. I ran Procmon with no results either; .
    I have been scouring the Googlemachine and building on the GPO below to get around the issue with no results. I am hoping someone with a sharper eye than I can spot something or point me in the correct direction..
    Thanks eh.

  • Adobe Reader X Pro serial number popup on launch (windows 7)

    Hi Folks
    I have Adobe CS6 and part of this volume licence comes Adober reder X. 10.0.0
    Unfortunately I'm having issues when deploying the Adober reader X package, I get a popup saying I have x amount of days left of my trial. (and it is actually counting down)
    I've allocated the CS6 suite out to many PC's maybe 700 or so, and then allocated the Adobe reder X pro out. This is a side loading application from my understanding and depends on the full CS6 to be out first.  The results I'm finding are mixed. Some staions are working fine, no popup's what so ever and others when opening a PDF or launch the application will produce the popup. This does seem to be computer specific I've tested the same network user on different stations and get different results. working, not working! I've also tried the full suite + adobe reader x pro on windows XP stations and so far it's never had the same issues, unfortunately out networks are quickly moving to windows 7, this seems to be the OS I have the problems with. I've not fully checked the difference with installed application from one station from another, I can do if required but most stations get the same apps installed via a 3rd party deployment tool.
    I used the Customisation wizard to create the application and cut down on as many popups/updates as possible using this little tool.  All works as you would expect apart from this serial number behaviour.  This is causing major issues in all our education establishments and I really need to find some solution to this problem that doesn't involve de-installing the applications, it's too far spread.
    I've been readign the forums and see a few different issues relating to serial number popup issues.  Is this a software design fault?
    Mike R

    Hi,
    You've provided details about the problem, but not about your configuration and deployment steps.
    First, follow the steps in the Admin and Wizard Guides here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/index.html. Pay attention to the Activation methodologies. You may have done all that, but double check.
    At the bottom of the installation workflows section, you'll also find this: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/licensing.html#acrobat-standa lone-and-aamee
    There is additional doc for Acrobat delivered with CS here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html
    HTH!

  • Acrobat 9: IAC window problem when opening a pdf

    Hello,
    I got a C# program , which can iterate over a number of pdf files in a directory. I used the following code for the first document:
    CAcroApp AcrobatApp = new AcroAppClass();
    AVDoc = new AcroAVDocClass();
    AVDoc.Open(filename1,"");
    AcrobatApp.Show();
    So far so good. Acrobat starts and shows the loaded document. The Code for stepping to the next document is:
    AVDoc.Close(0)
    AVDoc.Open(filename2,"");
    The document is closed and the empty Acrobat window stays (same as if you open a PDF in Acrobat 9 and then select "File|Close" from the menu). Instead of using this empty frame the next "AVDoc.Open.." a new window is created for the next document.
    Can I somehow tell Acrobat to open the new document in the "empty" Acrobat window instead of opening a new one?
    (Might be a SDI problem of Acrobat 9, since the code worked well for all older versions of Acrobat using the MDI interface)
    Thanks a lot,
    René

    Regards,
    Rave

  • Before proceeding you must first launch adobe acrobat and accept the end user license agreement

    Our situation is as follows:
    - We have 300 + computers with both Acrobat Pro and Reader installed
    - When Acrobat and Reader are installed, and our users try to open a .pdf file using Internet Explorer, they are prompted to launch Acrobat and accept the EULA
    - If we uninstall Acrobat, Internet Explorer uses Reader to display the pdf.  If it is the first time the user has used Reader on that computer, they are prompted to accept the EULA for Reader, but the EULA is provided, right there.  The user doesn't have to close out of IE, open Acrobat, and then reopen IE.
    - When Acrobat is installed, if we uninstall and reinstall Reader, IE uses Reader to display the pdf
    - If we have uninstall and reinstall Acrobat, or if there is an update, IE uses Acrobat to display the pdf
    Yes, I know that the user can open Acrobat to accept the EULA, but the message still causes confusion for our users.  Always making sure that Reader is installed or updated after Acrobat isn't feasible to do on 300 + computers, nor is uninstalling and reinstalling Reader.
    Is there a way via Group Policy to force IE to use Reader instead of Acrobat?  I've looked at disabling the Adobe Reader addon in IE, but that causes the pdf to be downloaded instead of being displayed in the browser.  It's possible to disable IE addons via Group policy, but I can't pinpoint an Acrobat specific addon for displaying pdfs.
    Has anyone run into this situation before? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi D Sugden,
    There are two ways that you can attempt to do this.
    1.  Use the EULA_ACCEPT property at install time:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/properties.html
    Installation    9.0 & later    EULA_ACCEPT    YES prevents the EULA from appearing the first time the viewer is invoked. For 10.1.4, see the release notes.
    2.  Use APTEE after installation for the applications already installed
    4   Installation Workflows — Enterprise Administration Guide
    adobe_prtk --tool=Type1Exception --accept --serial=<serialNum> --responsecode=responseCode --leid=DriverLEID
    The corresponding EULA registry setting is:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\<version>\AdobeViewer\EULAAcceptedForBrowser.

  • Valid Acrobat Pro XI still requires activation after 30 days

    I already asked a similar question in a different sub-forum, but i was recommended to make a new thread here.
    The problem is this:
    We need to deploy Acrobat Pro XI to computers that are 100 offline. We used the Adobe Customization Wizard XI to make a customized install for Acrobat Pro XI. We entered the serial number and used the "Grant Offline Exception" button on a computer with Internet access, which worked fine. The ISX_SERIALNUMBER property is successfully added to the mst.
    Adobe Support has earlier told me that all that is needed for offline activation to work is to have the ISX_SERIALNUMBER set in the mst. Still, Acrobat complains after 30 days that it needs to be activated. Is there some other magic that the "Grant Offline Exception" button does to the installation package that i need to be aware of?
    The way the installation is run is:
    we run setup.exe
    setup.exe (i assume?) uses setup.ini
    setup.ini contains:
    [Startup]
    RequireOS=Windows XP
    RequireMSI=3.1
    RequireIE=7.0.0000.0
    Require64BitVC10RT=1
    CmdLine=/sl"1044" /sall /rs
    [Product]
    msi=AcroPro.msi
    vcrtMsi=vc_red.msi
    vcrtDir=VC10RT_x64
    Languages=1033;1044
    1033=English (United States)
    1044=Norwegian (Bokmal)
    CmdLine=TRANSFORMS="AcroPro.mst"
    [Windows XP]
    PlatformID=2
    MajorVersion=5
    MinorVersion=1
    ServicePackMajor=3
    [MSI Updater]
    Path=WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
    So the bottom line is that i would like to know if this way of running the installation is correct, and also exactly what the "Grant Offline Exception" button does.
    Thank you

    Thanks for replying.
    We are not ghosting the installation, it's a normal installation using the standard files from Adobe.
    The installation process is as i described above.
    I tried using the wizard again now, granting the offline exception with it, and saving it as an mst. According to point 4.2.7.1 in 4  Installation Workflows — Enterprise Administration Guide, this should occur: "The Wizard validates the serial number and saves the exception inside the MST."
    I can not for the life of me see any references in the mst that an offline exception exists. PRESERIALIZATIONFILEPATH is not mentioned in the property table or anywhere else in the mst either.
    All further help (if possible) will be much appreciated!

  • Content Viewer missing when InDesign is installed via Packager: how to install it? (Windows)

    Hello there,
    we're having an issue deploying InDesign CC via Packager on 9+ Windows7 workstations: Content Viewer is missing - error when previewing a Folio. (I've verified it can not be included in the package)
    I've suggested administrators to manually install DPS Desktop tools downloaded from the Adobe website (Adobe - DPS Desktop Tools : For Windows) over the deployed InDesign, they report install is not successful.
    All other CC applications work, including InDesign (updated to latest Feb 2015 release). Adobe AIR seems to be installed.
    User has admin roles. Any suggestion about the proper installation workflow? Can we install Content Viewer only?.
    Thanks.

  • How to uninstall OCS R1 on Windows

    Hi, I would like to know how to succesfully uninstall OCS on windows, because I think Ive had many problems with the current installation, Workflow especially.
    I couldn't configure workflow succesfully so I uninstalled it from via OUI and though to uninstallit from OCS Information Storage cd's. But as it seems, I can't choose to install a component only.
    I even tried to install workflow as a component from the RDBMS 9.2.0.1.0 cd's but in the installation summary says that it will deinstall the 9.2.0.1.0 DB and reinstall it and add workflow as a new installation. I think that this will erase all the previous configuration made to the storage db, right?
    So Im thinking about uninstalling OCS. I have already installed and configured: infrastructure, storage, midtier (not fully configured) and calendar.
    Since the reason I want to uninstall OCS is the problem w/ Storage's workflow should I keep the infrastructure installation or it would be better to install all over again?
    And also, besides using OUI to uninstall everything (except for calendar), what system entries should I delete?
    Thanks in advance.

    I just uninstalled All component related OCS such as infrastructure, storage and Collaboration Suite Component.
    and then I delete all entries related in ocs in windows registry, otherwise I couldn't reinstall OCS again.
    by the way
    I've installed OCs R1 singleblx on Windows
    I downloaded all file on the web.
    Oracle Files without workflow, Oracle Calendar and Oracle UltraSearch work well.
    now I'm working on integration Oracle Files with Oracle Workflow.
    c:\ocs_onebox\infra ,
    c:\ocs_onebox\inventory ,
    c:\ocs_onebox\mtier and
    c:\ocs_onebox\stg
    are created during installation.
    there are two "wf" folder.
    one of them is in c:\ocs_onebox\stg\wf
    and the other is in c:\ocs_onebox\mtier\wf
    So I had to select which one of these I should use.
    I selected wf in c:\ocs_onebox\mtier\wf
    I ran c:\ocs_onebox\stg\wf\install\wfinstall.bat
    Installation was fine. I complete installation without error I think.
    this is the documentation that I used with installation
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/html/B10563_02/config.htm#sthref31
    I'v done 2.3.2.2 Integrating Oracle Workflow with Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On
    except 14 ~26.
    I can't find Patch 2283128 for Bug 2579824 because i don't have metalink account.
    now I don't know what I have to do.
    do you have good documentations for Workflow?
    I think we can share our knowledge each other.
    thanks in advance
