Installations of 10G database for Demantra

Hi
I am trying to install 10g client database for demantra installations. I am not a DBA, but funtional person.
I am getting various error. Is there a way to get some help on installations of database and demantra for self study?
The error is as follows:
The selected Oracle Client is mising the crucial utility (ies) utility

I don't know what you posted but it is not an Oracle error message. It may be part of one but not the entire message.
If you want help you need to provide enough information for us to know what you were doing, on what hardware and operating system, with what Oracle software, etc.

Download not working for 10g Database for Vista

After 20% the download suddenly ends and i am not able to download properly,
Please correct the issue ASAP so that i can download the Software

APEX2.0 on 9i not working anymore after installation of 10G database

Hello,
Up to last saturday I used APEX 2.0 on my 9i database (on Windows XP) without problems. I have several applications running and used them saturday for the last time.
Saturday I installed Oracle 10G Enterprise Edition on that same machine. I installed ONLY the software for the RDBMS, not even APEX. Later on I created my first 10g database via DBCA. Notice that I didn't do anything with APEX on that 10g database yet. I only installed the RDBMS software in a 10g home directory and created a database. That's all. No apex installed, nothing from the companion CD, only the RDBMS software in its own home.
Yesterday however, after a reboot of the machine, I could not use my applications running on the 9i database anymore: "the page cannot be found".
HELP!!!
What was changed by the installation of 10g that now causes that my applications cannot be accessed anymore? The 9i database runs OK, so that's not the problem.
I did already change the PATH settings, so that the 9i paths are checked before the 10.2 paths, but that did not solve the problem.
Has the installation changed something in the registry of XP perhaps?

Hi all, in answer to the above suggestions:
No the 10g database and listener is completely down (no services belonging to the new 10g database are running). I checked also alle the logs, but no messages anymore since saturday.
What I did notice: Oracle92HTTPserver (a service normally started automatically) does not start. When I start it, it gives me a message that there is nothing to do and that the service therefore is not started. So the HTTP-server itself is not working anymore. I can't find any files changed by th installation in the Ora92 home Apache directories. All seems as it was before the installation And still it won't start....
Does anybody have other suggestions? Please help.

Can I have a 9i OEM with 10g Database for repository?

Guys
I plan to move our OEM from 9i to 10g in a planned manner.
I want to know, as a first step, if the OEM itself can stay at 9i and the repository database can be moved to 10g.
Second: if I move OEM & repository to 10g, can I monitor 9i & 8i DBs?

moved to 10g.I don't see why you would consider this....If you do a new installation of GC 10g, it will take care of creating the 10g database and creating the repository. So, this step isn't necessary.
Second: if I move OEM & repository to 10g, can I
monitor 9i & 8i DBs?You will be able to monitor 9i dbs and also 8i dbs...However, the features available for monitoring these versions isn't great. I recommend you keep your 9i OEM to monitor them. As you upgrade these target dbs to 10g, you can add them to your new 10g Management server.

Extracting Error in 10g database for windows

I downloaded the 10g database from

after downloading i tried to unzip it.
It throwed me this error while unzipping

i tried the installation it installed with the jar file installation errors.
that means the files in the oracle web are corrupted.
So how can i get the non-corrupted file from the oracle web.

I've experienced the same.
After download the extraction failed on CRC. I then tried a to use a download that installed on another computer. After moving that install to the computer that failed in the first place, the extraction failed again.
Finally I tried another extraction utility, which succeeded. But there might still be problems, because the installation get stuck after 35%.
I have a post from the sep 26 on that.

I don't believe Oracle has officially indicated a time frame. I have seen some people speculate (second or third hand information) some time in March, but I have no idea whether that is accurate.

10g Database Installation in Windows Vista

Hi,
I have downloaded 10g database for vista from Oracle site. When i tried to install,i.e, after clicking on setup/OUI a command prompt appears and nothing else is happening.
Mine is a new laptop Vostro series.
Could somebody provide me steps in getting 10g db installed.

Authenticating 10g databases against OID 11g

Hi.
Our client currently uses OID 10g to authenticate users on their 10g databases. They intend to begin an upgrade to 11g beginning with the OID upgrade. Some applications though are likely to remain on 10g databases for the foreseeable future.
Will it remain possible to authenticate existing 10g database installations against the new OID 11g setup?
If so, will this happen automatically as part of the OID 10g->11g upgrade steps?

Did you come right with the Oracle case insensitive connection? I am at a client site and they are asking if I can create an Oracle case insensitive connection and need to know how to do this.
I have come right now. I have added the following into the parameters in the universe:
NTS_COMP = LINGUISTIC
NTS_SORT = BINARY_CI
When running a query the selection does not have to be case sensitive. eg. In the database it shows as "SOFTWARE" and if I run a query looking for "software" it returns the correct data.

Problem Oracle 10g database Installation on Windows 2003 Server

I am trying to face some problem to install oracle 10g database on windows 2003 server with service pack 2. Once I start to installation it give me an error "Error in writing to directory 'c:\documents and settings\administrator\local settings\temp\orainstall2004xxx'. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has at least 45MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue"
I double-insured that there is enough disk-space and I am also in the Administrators-Group.
Please guide me for the above problem although I have done oracle 9i database installation with the same configuration.

Problem in installation of Oracle 10g database on RHEL 6

I am facing the problem when I am trying to install Oracle 10g database on Red Hat 6. When ./runinstaller is run, the message seems to be if I remember correctly is like ‘……………bad ELF interpreter’. But, the same source seems to be installing correctly in Red Hat 5.
Please, help in solving the doubt.
