Installed 10.5 on G5 to replace 10.3.9 and lost all

Installed 10.5 on G5 to replace 10.3.9 and lost iphoto, itunes, all files, settings etc. I thought I was making a backup, but everything is erased now. Is there anyway to get all my files, settings, itunes, etc. back?

Welcome to the Apple boards.
Leopard does not make a backup. You need to do that separately, first.
In order to recover your data, you must stop using that HD immediately. Remove it and install Leopard on another one.
You need to get someone who is familiar with data recovery to extract the data from your old HD, if possible.
It's probably not all erased, because the default install "merges" Leopard with the previous OS.
If you specifically chose Archive & Install then your data are safe, but still you need data recovery.
If you chose Erase and Install, you may have then erased everything - but data recovery can work miracles.
