Installed ePrint on Officejet 6700, now cannot print wirelessly

Greetings,
We have beenprinting wirelessly with our Officejet 6700 for quite some time. This morning the HP Connect/ePrint feature was installed...now we cannot print to the computer wirelessly. I have turned off the ePrint functionality on the printer, shut down and restarted...still not able to print.
Looking for suggestions, or a way to delete the eprint functionality.
Much obliged...

Hello Bugaloo911,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Sorry to hear about the Officejet 6700 now being unable to wirelessly since you setup the ePrint portion of the printer. What is the Operating System installed on the computer, Windows or Mac? Also, what happens when you try to print? For example, is there an error or message of any kind on the computer?
Setting up ePrint should not have made any changes to the printers ability to wirelessly print via a computer connection. Does the printer still show a connection to the network? If you are not sure, touch the wireless icon from the printer home screen and then Print Wireless Test Report. If there is no connection, run the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Try running the HP Print and Scan Dr on the computer, if using a Windows computer.
Once the printer is working again on the computer we can look into re-setting up ePrint for you.
Regards,
JERENDS

  • Installed Ghostscript 8.70 and now cannot print

I installed (via download and then make install) Ghostscript 8.70. After this, my printer driver to my KonicaMinolta Magicolor 2530DL would crash, generating an "Empty print file!" error when running lpstat -p (and causing the printer to get "pause"d. "Resume"ing the printer would cause it to get paused again immediately when the printer driver would crash again. I tried to then install Ghostscript 8.61 and then 8.64, but now I get "Copying Print Data..." and the job stays active forever. I know that CUPS uses Ghostscript. Is there a version of ghostscript that I can install that will restore my 10.6 system to where it was before I apparently overwrote a good ghostscript install with 8.70? I would have to restore my macbook to 10.5 and then upgrade to 10.6 to get it restored, which would take a lot of time. Does anyone know what version of ghostscript is used in 10.6.2 snow leopard? I have CUPS 1.4.2 on the macbook.

I've been using the 10.5 driver for the 2430DL. It has worked just fine for 10.6 and 10.5.
Have you tried the 10.6 driver for the 2430DL in Snow Leopard?
Its rastertokm2430dl driver must call ghostscript, because that's when the trouble started. The crashreporter would report a crash when 8.70 was installed. The error changed when 8.64 was installed. When I look in /usr/libexec/cups/filter directory, all files were updated Dec 30th, 2009.
As I mentioned in my first reply, certain applications that send PostScript output to the printing system (almost all applications send PDF to the printing system) may use Ghostscript instead of the pstops filter Apple supplies. Ghostscript is not a requirement of the 2430DL driver on Mac OS X and Ghostscript is not a requirement for CUPS on Mac OS X.
What happens if you uninstall Ghostscript? I downloaded and installed the 10.6 driver for the 2430DL and set up a printer to print-to-file. I printed a PDF from Preview. My installed version of Ghostscript was not called during the printing process.
And is there a way to see what libraries are used (similar to ldd) for the driver?

For the 10.6 driver for the 2430 this produces
    <pre style="overflow: auto;font-size:small; font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; color: #222; background: #ddd; padding: .3em .8em .3em .8em; font-size: 9px;">$ otool -L /Library/Printers/KONICAMINOLTA/mc2430DL/Filter/rastertokm2430dl.app/Contents/M acOS/rastertokm2430dl

I would suggest that you update to the newer 2430DL driver and remove Ghostscript. Then see if you have the same problems.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Security Update 2013-003 is available for Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion. You can download the Snow Leopard version > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1670
You don't have enough space to install the update, so you have to delete things from the hard drive or move them to an external drive. See > http://thexlab.com/faqs/freeingspace.html

  • Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook Pro OSX Mavericks

I cannot get my new MacBook Pro (using OSX Mavericks) to communicate with my HP Officejet4500 Wireless.  I can print when I use a connecting USB cable, but cannot print wirelessly.  All of my Mac software updates are current as of 4/20/2014, which included an update for HP printers.  When I used the disk to install the printer software, it did not have a screen for entering my wireless router ID or passcode.  In the Mac System Preferences for Print and Scan, my Officejet 4500 G510n-z is listed, but to no avail.  What do I have to do to get my Mac to print wirelessly?  Thanks.

OK, thanks for that.  It may indeed may be the problem, but let's check a couple of things first.
    1. On the printer: Setup > Network > Print Network Test.  Is the printer connected to the network?  If it is not:
         a. In the Network menu, Restore Defaults
         b. In the same Network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your network.
    2. On your Mac, download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
         Restart your Mac.
    3. Reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

    "/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS /rastertoescpII failed"
I also saw this same error message above the Print Queue, ever since allowing the Epson Printer Software Update (August 2013) to install. After this update installed, I was able to print a basic Test Page from the Print Queue, but when printing from any application I only got "Looking for printer..." displayed above the Print Queue, which would stall and never print.
2008 MacBook, 10.7.5. It used to print to my Epson WorkForce 845 wirelessly without problems, before this software update was installed.
Changing the driver from "Epson WorkForce 845" to "Epson WorkForce 600 - Gutenprint v5.2.3" was a workaround that did allow me to print, but I wasn't satisfied with that.
Found this better solution in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5233149?start=0&tstart=0
    (with thanks to Yuengdog1983):
This issue may be a result of the Computer Name being left empty:
Open System Preferences and choose Sharing.
Enter a name for your computer.
Even without restarting the MacBook, I was able to now change back to using the Epson WorkForce 845 driver v9.0 successfully. I never would have guessed that a Computer Name is required in order to print!

  • Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook to ENVY 5530 get message printer offline

Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook to ENVY 5530, get error message that "printer is offline"
    Thanks for the help.

    Hey @Geneferg,
Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue. Because your printer shows connected on the Wireless Test Report, I am going to have you run some standard Mac troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve this issue.
Step 1: Uninstall Drivers and Software:
First, it's important to have a nice clean slate to work with. Therefore, I am going to have you remove and uninstall the software and drivers for your HP Envy.
To start, can I please have you click here and run through the steps on how to Reset the Print System for your computer. Please run through the steps on 'Resetting the printing system in Mac OS X v10.5.x or 10.6.x'. This will remove every printer from your computer. However, this does not uninstall the printers. Therefore, if you use other printers on your Mac computer simply ensure that the printer is connected through the USB Cable or network connected and (+) add the printer back in via the Print & Scan window. Do not add your HP Envy back in at this time.
Next, please click here and follow through with the uninstall steps under the 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8, and OS X v10.9' dropdown.
Once the uninstall is complete, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    Go to the Utilities Folder
    Open the Disk Utility
Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
    Select Verify Disk Permissions
Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
    Go to Apple
    Select System Preferences
    Select Software Update
    Click Update Now
    Install your available updates
    Restart your computer
Step 4: Reinstall your Software and Drivers:
Please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer
Once the website opens, select the Download button on the top left
Once the download is complete, please follow any onscreen instructions to reinstall your wireless printer
Once your printer has been successfully reinstalled please test the printing function again to verify if the 'offline' issue has been resolved.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • Cannot print wirelessly to a new HP B210 though configuration test is fine.

Cannot print wirelessly to a new HP B210 though configuration test is fine. It keeps coming up, "not connected" or "oof line". I have a 5 year old Linksys Router and connect perfectly to 2 iPads and a new Mac Pro wirelessly all over the house.

I reconfigured the Brother MFC 7840W printer settings and it says that it is connected. I've always been able to print before, so this is related to the new ML installation.

also, the printer says it is not connected, maybe if i connect it, i can print wirelessly. how do i connect it?

  • Cannot print wirelessly - HP Officejet 6700 Premium

I have had no problem printing wirelessly for over a year.  The last few days, I have been unable to print from Windows 7.  From the printer, the wireless connection looks good and I can print a test page.  I can ping the IP address from my computer and I can print a test page  from the printers web page.  But when I try to print from word, notepad or any other web page, it shows the correct printer and IP address, the print goes into the print queue and disappears.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @howtoprint
I read your post about how you cannot print from programs on your Windows 7 computer however, can print from the embedded web server page.
I would suggest running the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.
    Try printing again afterwards.
If that does not work, try Uninstalling the Printer Software, restarting the computer, and reinstalling the printer.
Good luck, I hope this helps

  • Officejet 6700 margin problems printing from Mac

I recently purchased and setup a  new HP 6700 all in one wireless printer and have a problem that I can't seem to solve or find a solution for.  Printing from my Mac's leaves margins cutting the top and bottom off of documents.  I've printed the same documents from a PC at work without problem but opening and printing on this printer seems to cut off margins.  I can't find a margin setting to adjust nor should I need to with a default print setting.  I've updated the latest HP print drivers and firmware with no luck.
    Thanks in advance.

I just found this post and hope I am not too late to pursue this further.
I have an HP OfficeJet 6700 Premium Wireless Color e-All-In-One Inkjet Printer.  My operating system is Macintosh OS X 10.9.3 Mavericks.
I have been having this problem for quite sometime and would love to get an explanation, or directions to fix the problem.
I clicked on the link 'HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One and 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer Series (H711) Product Specifica...' and saw that the acceptable Top and Bottom print margins for a Mac are .13" and .47" respectively.
Whether I am in Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 (latest version) or in Preview (latest version), I cannot print a document with a Top margin of less than .5".
I created some documents in 2013 that were printed on this printer and they came out with no problems.
In January of this year, I bought my current Mac, and now I cannot print any of those documents unless I increase the Top margin to '5".  Thinking it might be the HP driver, I downloaded and upgraded to the latest version of the driver, and still the problem persists.
I originally was blaming the problem on Microsoft Word, but that does not make sense since the problem also occurs with Preview.
    Your help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I know this question has been posed already, but all the solutions don't seem to work.
When I try to print, it'll sometimes say, "connecting to printer" then it says, "connected to printer" and then "printing" but nothing prints.  Or sometimes it just doesn't seem to print at all.

    Hi @MDSSD,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see sometimes when you try to print to your HP Officejet 6700 Premium you get a "connecting to printer" then says, "connected to printer" and then "printing" but nothing prints.
I would like you to start with the steps listed below:
    Scrub/ Uninstall
    • Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP Uninstaller
    • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
    • * Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers. Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
    • Click uninstall.
    Reset Printing System
    1. Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
    2. In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.
    3. Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
    4. Click OK to confirm the reset.
    5. Type the correct Name and Password.
    6. Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol..
    Repair Disk Permissions
1.On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
    2.Double-click Disk Utility.
3.Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
4.Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
5.Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.
Restart the printer. Now you can download and install the printer software and install it. Click on the link below to begin the download and follow the on screen instructions:
HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver - Mac OS X 10.6, OS X 10.7, OS X 10.8

  • Upgraded to snow leopard and now cannot print

I purchased an iPhone 4S which forced me to upgrade to snow leopard. I have two Epson printers and an Epson scanner.  Now I cannot print.
I downloaded Epson updates for the new system from the Apple website hoping that would solve the problem.  It did not.
    Current print issues:
The print dialogue boxes look like inDesign options, not photoshop or "regular" print options.
    I cannot print :  Error:/System/Library/Printers/Printjobmgr/Contents/MacOS
Any suggestions on what to do next?  This is very frustrating.
    Thanks in advance.

Open the System Preferences program and select the Print tab. Delete the printers and then try installing the printers again.
I don't know what you mean by:

If this persists you might want to take screenshots and include them.
