Adobe DLM, Evernote, Foxsaver, Microsoft.net framework assistant, Skype, tigerlogic

You can look at this extension as a possible replacement for Roboform:

I'm trying to download internet security and an error of microsoft windows applications are not supported on OS x keeps coming up

That's because you must be trying to download a Windows application, and they do not run on a Mac unless you are running Windows on the Mac.

From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect anything targeting the Mac because there
is no Mac malware in the wild, and therefore, no "signatures" to detect.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that

    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on

    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.

    Not a nice answer!
Posting "Check the 'More like this'" area and not simply providing the answer is a great way to make these groups worthless.
You're ignoring context.  On the old Apple Discussion Groups I never posted replies like that, instead giving people relatively detailed answers.  The new Apple Support Communities made things worse by introducing certain inefficiencies.  Then came Lion.  The flood of messages that came with Lion required a painful choice for any of the people who had been helping here: (1) Give quality responses to a few questions and ignore the rest.  (2) When applicable, give a brief answer such as the one that you found objectionable.  (3) Give up all the other normal activities of life and spend full time trying to answer questions here.
People who needed help with Lion problems seemed to have trouble discovering existing message threads that described how to solve their problems.  I never posted the suggestion of "Check the 'More like this' area" without verifying that the help that the poster needed could be found there.  Even doing that, what I posted saved me time that I could use to help someone else.
The people helping here are all volunteers.  None of them is being paid for the time they spend here.  They all have a life outside of Apple Support Communities.  It's arrogant of you to demand that people helping here spend more time than they already do.

i upgraded to the 4.3.5, and half my apps are not working. how do i get back to 4.3.3? all my best and regular apps are not working and i need them! so how do i down grade

There is no legitimate (Apple supported) way to downgrad an iOS on a device.  Have you tried downloading/installing a new (free) app.  That works for many users with that problem.

  • Updated my IOS 7 now some of my games are not work, how can I fix this problem?

I have updated my Ipad to the IOS 7 and now some of my games/apps are not working, how can i fix this or revert back to what I had before?

I'm afraid you'll have to wait until both Apple and the makers of your games/apps upgrade to new versions.
Apparently there are still some issues with iOS7 that are being dealt with and the same with some apps.
As for going back, I don't think you will be able to get this information from these forums...

  • How to use .MKV and .ISO with Premiere Pro? They are not supported.

Hi all. My brother in-law sent us two .mkv videos and a DVD .iso he wants me to use in a video I am cutting for him. The only trouble is, I've no idea how to get them into a format PremPro can handle.
I've searched and the only solutions I have found are infinitely complicated for me. Avisynth is certainly beyond me.
Anyone know of a way to convert .mkv (info lists 942x720 H.264 4:2:0 YUV MPEG4 AVC) into something useable?
Same question for an ISO file.
    Thanks much
By the way, this is not for anything 'important' nor am I getting paid, so I have no budget tp purchase software. I am sure there must be a free solution.
I tried this trial version software...
    http://www.moyea.com/import-flv/
But it would NOT install. It just errored in a loop and was unable to find or understand I have CS5 PremPro.

Can anyone explain how to use VLC to transcode? The settings are endless and NONE look correct. Everything is about coverting and shrinking and that is not what I want.
I have looked into this so many times and cannot find how to do it. I know it must be simple, but clearly I am blind.
What I need is to take whatever is inside that stupid MKV wrapper and extract it. Transcode it. I have been trying for A YEAR now and have never been able to find a solution.
I'm on a PC and unfortunately, there are free solutions for a MAC. But that won't help me.
EDIT: One option I see is tsMuxer! But which setting for Output? I can choose...
TS muxing... or M2TS musing... or Blu-ray disk... or AVCHD disk... or DEMUX
To explain more, I have a Blu-Ray I purchased and want to add the audio from my laserdisc, since the remixed audio on the disc sucks (hard). I'll also add English subtitles. To be clear, this work is for ME for my own personal use.
Here is a screen grab from tsMuxer. Which to choose? I will place the audio and video in Premiere Pro. Sync the old Laserdisc audio up and then EXPORT to Adobe Encore to burn a new BD.

  • Updates should (optionally) be blocked if key addons are not yet compatible

Example: I depend on Roboform to maintain several hundred unique secure passwords and other user credentials. Updates to firefox frequently break the addon. I should be able to say no thankyou to any update until the addons have caught up.
At the moment, that requires an uninstall of firefox and reinstallation of the old version.
    a) is there a better workaround?
    b) when is the (delay until addon compatible) option going to be made available?

nobody is addressing the actual issue I am raising.
I'm fully aware of how the update process works - including third party addons
The design flaw I'm addressing is the Firefox update procedure itself. Telling us that an addon is incompatible AFTER the update is as useful as a chocolate teapot.
We need to know BEFORE THE FIREFOX UPDATE PROCEEDS whether or not key addons (of our choice) are already compatible. If they are not, then we should simply have the option of delaying the update until the addons have caught up.
To achieve this, we need an additional option in the Addon manager which says something like "Delay Firefox Update (and warn user) if Addon is incompatible with update".
We could then mark the relevant key addons and be assured that, come the next firefox update, it would check the compatibility status of those marked addons before proceeding with the update. If if found any not yet ready, it would warn the user that the update could not be carried out without disabling the addon (and give the user an option to proceed regardless, if, for instance, the user decides the benefits of updating firefox - eg to fix a major security flaw - outweigh the inconvenience of losing the addon for a few days)
I hope that is clearer now.

  • I just upgraded to Firefox 10 and all my pinned app tabs disappeared. Not sure how to get them back. This did not happened with any previous upgrades.

Was using Firefox 9 before upgrade.
Note that I was using Tab Utilities 1.1.2 which is now disabled because it is not compatible with Firefox 10 (but this utility does not really deal with app tabs anyway).

Please try this: In Firefox, '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information''' > '''Open Containing Folder'''. This opens the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder Firefox Profile Folder]. Copy the '''sessionstore.js''' and '''sessionstore.bak''' files to another place, '''Exit''' Firefox, delete these two files in the profile folder and copy and rename the '''sessionstore.bak''' to '''sessionstore.js''' from the backup to this folder (profile folder). Start Firefox and please also check '''about:sessionrestore'''. Please note that this may not help if the .bak file's size is smaller than the .js.

I updated my Mac and now I can't open any of my Microsoft programs.  What happened?

Lion does not support PPC applications.  You will have to install newer versions or use them with Snow Leopard.
