Installed ilife11 now iPhoto not functioning

I installed ilife11 to have idvd, now when i go to open iPhoto i get message that it cannot open because it is damaged or incomplete. Please help, all i use my mac for is photography.

1 - you can try runing software update to make sure it is up to date -- Again what version do you now have?
OR
2 - reinstall iPhoto from the original source (the system restore disks or the App Store) - log in using teh Apple ID you used to set the computer up adn look under purchases - you may have to unhide or accept iPhoto

had to wipe hard drive and re-install everything. Installed iLife11 and iPhoto won't launch. says I need latest software and I have run software updater.

3G crashed trying to install iOS4 - now will not restore

I finally succumbed to the pop-ups telling me to install iOS4. It crashed during the "restoring iphone software" stage. I now do not have any operating system on my phone. I have tried restoring but it will not proceed further than 13% of the progress bar on "restoring iphone software"
Any help will be gratefully received.

Thank you for the comments. I have just got back form teh O2 (service provider) store. They restored to factory settings and updated to ios4 for free. I should think so too , as I have only had the phone for a month!
I hope it runs smoothly though now, as I have seen many comments regarding loss of speed.

Installed iTunes 7, iPhoto not syncing

Same problem with iTunes 7.... Since I installed it, my iPhoto library seems to have stopped sharing the photos and I can't sync them with my iPod or even share them through my home network. I use a 3rd party program called connect360 which let's me share my music and pictures with my xbox360. I can see the music but can't see the pictures. And every time I connect the iPod I get an UNKNOWN ERROR MESSAGE -50, which dissappears when I disable the photo sync on the device manger interface on iTunes 7. Is it a bug caused by the update? I already tried to reinstall iphoto and the 6.0.4 update and nothing happens. My library seems intact but I don't want to corrupt it. Help please?! Anyone?

Hi,
for testing purpose it might be important to uninstall all 3rd party apps.
If this doesn't help, check if all your high res images in your iPhoto library aren't dammaged (friend of mine couldn't sync because of 10 images which had the high res damaged).

ILife '11 installed and now iPhoto won't open, "damaged or incomplete".

I was unable to use iDVD after having Mountain Lion installed. I had an iLife '11 disk and I installed it. I didn't see any changes in the application folder so I used the iLife '11 disk again, found the iDVD application and selectively installed it. Now I have and iPhoto icon with a white circle crossed out and when I try to open iPhoto, I get the message, "You can’t open the application “iPhoto.app” because it may be damaged or incomplete."
I don't know what version of iPhoto I have because there are just two dashes after the "version" when I Right Click and select "Get info" on the iPhoto.app line in Finder.
I have been reading support blogs for hours last night and this morning. I am afraid to try any of the fixes because I have already caused problems for myself and my problem doesn't seem to exactly match anyone elses problem, but seems to be a mixture of more than one problem.
I have a backup harddisk that was set to the time machine before I had my computer repaired. It only backs up to Dec 2, 2013. I have not hooked it up again yet out of fear that it will start backing up and mixing old with new. I had Lion before the repair (new video disk) and when I received the computer, Mountain Lion was installed. This was last week. I specifically asked that Mavericks not be installed because I was reading so much unhappiness with it.
So - any help extremely appreciated. I am frozen.

You need to reinstall. There is no choice.
Note the instructions below for reinstalling from Disk:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

There is much unhappiness with every version of every Os and App everr released - roll back to the release of Mountain Lion and you'll see exactly the same type of commentary. In the main, much of this commentary is useless.
The problems are manifold: for a start, happy people are less likely to review, unhappy people are much more inclined to. That's why we don't have thousands and thousands of posts on this forum from all the people who have no problems saying "look I have no problems". Unhappy people get cross and are more likely to express that anger in negative reviews.
Then what about the reviewer? What is his or her knowledge, experience and skill level? No doubt they are having problems, and real ones, but how do you know if their issues are problems with the app, their own inexperience, third party conflicts and so on. I've seen people on here claim the fact that iPhoto won't edit video is a bug. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of posts from folks on here who are certain they've found a bug, only for their glitch to be resolved. No review is worth anything unless you know something of the reviewer, his or her knowledge and experience.
So frankly, I never bother with those reviews on any such stores, not just iPhoto on the Mac App Store.

Newly installed ilife 6 - iphoto not recognized

Hello all,
I was having problems with my iphoto 4 not uploading my pictures so decided to upgrade my ilife software to 6. Everything installed fine except for iPhoto, I click the icon to open and nothing happens and now the icon changed to the paper / letter A icon. I looked at the system requirements and I believe I'm okay. Anyone have any ideas or solutions for me?

This looks like a faulty install.
Drag the iPhoto application from your Applications Folder to the trash
then go to HD/Library/Receipts and delete any pkg file with iPhoto in the name.
Then re-install iPhoto - you can do a custom install, you don't have to re-install all the other parts of iLife.
Don't forget to repair permissions.

Update just installed and now iPhoto won't open.

The Software Update message appeared ... so I updated. After that a message appeared that my iPhoto library would need to be updated in order to open. Sfar ... Fine! ... This is as per usual. It went through Upgrading Steps to 9 of 9.
But now ... iPhoto will not open.
I had the latest version of iPhoto available. My Mac runs on Version 10.7.4

No you don't. Not if you're running 10.7.4. The latest version of iPhoto is 9.5.1 and only runs on Mavericks, 10.9.5.
So give us the exact version you're using. Go to the iPhoto menu and select About iPhoto to get the version.

Photosmart C7280 was installed & working - now will not install - URGENT solution needed

All in one was working fine. Is on Network. Dell Workstation is wired and so is all in one. Other computers are laptops - wireless working fine. For an unexplained reason the software on the Dell stopped working - fax, scan, etc. But it would print but gave error messages. So I uninstalled it and downloaded the latest software from theHP website. First time trid to install - error message in the checking process - second part and uninstalled and did a check of the hP site but timed out. rebooted. Tried again after downloading from HP again. THis time it got to the install stage but once again an error. repeat process and this time downloaded a solution. Followed the steps in the solution - msconfig including firewall, rebooting, etc. Unsuccessful again. Now have no printer on Dell and need to have it working as I have assessment taskc due on weekend and can't print them. Need solution to solve this issue.

When you said you try to download it from the website. Did you click INSTALL on the driver or did you download and save it first on your computer? You may want to try and download and save it on the desktop. Once download is complete, manually start the installation by double clicking it on your desktop.
Aside from that, try to install just the drivers?
So when you're installing the driver/software, it will give you a screen where you can check the box for the user license agreement right? and above that is a 4 link that would say: Internet Connection Usage, Select a software (can't remember the rest of the two options) Click on the internet connection usage and choose the following options:
-First question: NO, I'll do it myself
-Second question: NO, thank you
-Press OK to go back to the main screen
This time, click on the SELECT A SOFTWARE TO INSTALL
-Uncheck everything. except the very top of the list which is grayed out; That's the driver of the printer
-There might be other software installed on your pc already that would say "already installed" you can ignore that since it will be grayed out. You need to uncheck those things that you can uncheck.
-Click Ok to go back to main screen.
-Proceed with the installation.

Weblogic Platform SP4 Install - Console Navigation Tree not functional

Just did a full install of WLP SP4 on Win XP Pro SP2
Starting WLS and using the console in both an ex-SP3 domain and a newly
created (and empty) SP4 domain, the console navigation tree isn't working.
The console HTML pages are fine.
i.e. clicking on the + of a tree node or right clicking within the tree area
produces nothing.
There are no applet type error indications on browser status line.
It was working fine for the just uninstalled SP3 version.
Is this caused by an out-of date browser plugin or some MS IE security
weirdness? My settings show I'm using the MS JVM
Any advice would be appreciated

I installed the latest JRE (1.4.2.07), and activated the Java support in IE
and the problem dissappeared.
Probably worth mentioning such a change in the release notes.

Logic X Pro Failed to install and now is not working

I was in the middle of installing Logic X Pro I will show you the creen in a screen shot below. This screen had been about 90% through installiation the first time I had tried to install and then the power went out in my house and the computer restarted unexpectedly. When the computer turned back on I tried to redo the installiation and ever since I have tried it has not moved from 0% no matter how long I let it sit. i have resion to believe it is most likely because the program is probibly half installed and is causing major issues while trying to install it again on top of the fact that all most of the files already exist within the hard drive. Is there any way to go into my registery and delete all the files or rest it and delete it entirely? I just want to be able to install it! thanks in advance
This is what it will say for as long as i let the app sit ... it has not moved since the first attempt at install when the power went out! thank you in advance

Never mind for some reason when I went into Logic the next time I had to actually delete all the files off the computer and then reboot. I waited a few hours and then I turned it back on and randomly the next time I tried it worked. Thanks

If I install Windows now, will my drivers update later?

I got a copy of Windows 8 System Builder but someone told me to hold off on installing it for now. If I install Windows now, and not all of the drivers work, when Apple DOES get all of the drivers working and updates bootcamp, when I update bootcamp on my own computer will that update the drivers for my partician of Windows or not?

This sounds different than with my IOS devices, since I am able to see the photos even with a connection to the Internet.
Do you mean without a connection to the internet? With a connection it's logical you would be able to see the PS.

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

Check the monitor settings in the System/Displays/Color preference pane. You may have to change the color profile used or calibrate the monitor.
Also check the System/Accessibility preference pane to see if the Increase contrast checkbox is checked. If it is check it and see if there's any improvement.
