Installed ios5 - add event option missing on iCal !!!

I bought an iPad 2 from Apple store yesterday, employee said ios5 was already installed. When I got home & turned on, it was not! I installed it, but there was no "add event +" option on iCal. How do I fix?

You should see a icon on the bottom right of the Calendar window. Is that missing in your display? Apple - iPad 2 - See your day, week, month, or year in a glance.

Crap... I don't know why I'd missed it... when you double click the event you get the window comes up...In little tiny gray letters first it reads
location
all-day
to
repeat
calendar
etc.....
click on that and get your options for repeating. Hope that helps.

All events are missing in iCal view

iPhone can still sync with the events so they are still there, but I can't see them. If I add a new event, I can't edit it and then when I leave iCal and come back the event has also disappeared.
Any thoughts?

Try refreshing the iCal plist file, and the "Calendar Cache" file. You will find the "com.apple.iCal.plist" file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, and drag the .plist file to your Desktop.
Also find the "Calendar Cache" file in the Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder. Drag the Calendar Cache file, or any other "Cache" files which may be in the Calendars Folder to the Desktop. Then log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.

Calendars and events are missing from iCal

What happened was I closed the lid of my MacBook Pro to put it to sleep. When I opened the lid to wake it, the screen was dark, like it was between 0 brightness and the lowest brightness setting. It also was not responding to trackpad or keyboard input, so I restarted it. However, when my computer started up, it seems as if my Mail.app had reset and everything was gone from my iCal. With Mail.app, after I redid one account, it seemed to return to normal. With iCal, I tried to sync it with my Palm, hoping that my calendars and events would get transferred to iCal. However, that didn't work, and I am getting errors with Missing Sync. The errors I'm getting are:

OK Mark/Space Contacts
SyncClient error. Mingling failed.
OK Mark/Space Events with 1 message(s)
No folders have been selected to synchronize.

Anyone have ideas where the issue is?

If you want to use your back up you need to restore then entire Library from Time Machine, and then replace the damaged Library with it.

Repeat option missing in iCal

I went into iCal to edit a new event and there is no repeat option now! There is the option for an alert or invite, but no way to set this event to repeat. HELP.

This does not work for editing "REPEAT" on my MACBook?
Followed your instructions with an existing event that had a 6 week repeat frequency.
All showed up to edit BUT NOT THE REPEAT FREQUENCY?
Wanted to change to 4 weeks repeat, but field not displayed to be able to edit it?
Still not figured how to edit repeat frequency field?

N8 calendar: private events option missing?

Hi,
Picked up the N8 yesterday, and was wondering if anyone knows an answer to the following. Is the missing "Private" flag setting in the N8 calendar a feature or a bug? And is there anyway around it / am I missing something?
In Outlook you can set an event to be private (or not). In my previous Nokia phones - last one being the E72 - the calendar events had this privacy option where I would set public / private / no sync. The option seems to be missing from the N8.
The N8 calendar does not allow to change the private flag for events synced with Exchange. It does retain the flag - so events set to private in Outlook will remain like that, and events set to public remain like that - even after editing them on the phone. So clearly the internals of the phone know about this flag and can handle its value when editing events (verified with some sync testing). But you cannot change the flag in the N8.
Luckily all new events become private, so it is not completely useless, but I don't understand why that option is gone. With the N8 calendar I basically have only two of those three options.
No sync: I can create a new calendar, putting the event there, thereby it does not get synced with Exchange.
Private: I can put it into the Exchange calendar when I get a private event.
But I cannot create a public event from my phone.
Feature or bug?

Add photos option missing in lightroom widget

I attached an image from an older tutorial out on YouTube regarding creating a Lightbox in Adobe's Muse.
We are running the latest Adobe Muse CC version and whether I try to create a lightbox, blank photo display or anything else for a photo gallery, I am NOT given an option to "Add Images" as in the example I placed below.
It's possible that Adobe did away with this but I am not sure why they would? Can someone please help me. Am I not selecting the correct window in order to get the "Options" window to appear when clicking on the blue/white arrow? What I get is a "Compisition Options" window no matter which container I select. And again, NOWHERE inside that window am I given an option to upload or add photos.

I believe you are using composition widgets not the Slideshow widgets.
They both are different and Slideshow widgets has the options to add images.
Please check the screenshot below showing the different locations to find them.

I do not know how this happened. I managed to synch and change this some months ago but I do not know how!

Welcome to Discussions.
With iCal closed, try deleting it's preference file (User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist).
If this does not work try repairing permissions. Open Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility) and select your boot volume on the left and click Repair Permissions.
If neither of these work post back.

Yes. You can't update or restore any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone. The sim card need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. If you want to update, you need to get a sim card.

Ical can't add events to Exchange only if I change the time zone

Hi, I recently update my MacBook from Snow Leopard to Lion (10.7.3) and I was using iCal with Exchange in my organization without any problem, but now I cannot add events, I get a message saying that iCal can't add the evento to Exchange, and it gives me 3 options Cancel, Restore or Redo.
I search in the forums for this message but none has come to a posible solutions, but I found a discution that someone enable the time zone support and specifies a diferent time zone in the event and "voila" it fixes the problem, the events now are added to Exchange; but obviously this turnaround is not good because the meetings you have to mention the difference in the time to get a meeting done.
Anyone knows how to report this situation to Apple Support?

Sorry I do not write to give solutions, only to mention I have the same problem. Additionally, I can share that for the same Exchange account server I can register new events from my iPhone and my iPad. In both instances, events are uploaded to the server and appear in my MacBook's iCal.

Ical keeps asking me to add events

Once a day or so, I keep getting this popup from iCal titled "Add events". The message is "This calendar contains new events. Please select a destination calendar." I don't know what it's talking about. No specific event is mentioned, and I certainly did not ask to add an event. I'm thinking it's getting it from Mail somehow or something. I have no idea. It totally interrupts me and whether I click "OK" or "cancel" it does not seem to do anything.
I am synchronizing with an exchange server and I have "Automatically retrieve invitations from Mail" turned on, which seems to be fine. What's going on?
This is on OS X 10.6.7.

I have the exact same problem, but my itunes is not set to share either in the program itself nor are any of my sharing (in system prefs) turned on. itunes is the only program this happens for me all the other ones never ask again after the first time. I have deleted it, re-entered it, restarted numerous times over many days. I have all the latest updates to the system and to itunes... The reason I am using this option in firewall is that my apple tv will not sync otherwise or I would use the "only essential services" option.

I had the same problem and just figured out how to fix it. Go into your setting screen and then iCloud and turn off the contacts option. Then click on keep on iPhone. I did this and now all my contacts are back. YEAH!!!

ICal events are missing Day and Month in date

Hello, Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere - this is such a weird fault I was not sure how to search for it.
My iCal events are missing the Day and Month in their start and end dates - it just shows a 4 digit year which can only be edited as a 4 digit number. All my events are in their correct places but I am unable to create new multiday events.
This applies to old and new events alike. I tried trashing my iCal prefs file but it made no difference.
Anyone any ideas? I am using iCal 3.0.8 on Leopard 10.5.8.

Worked it out - I was using a custom date format to give me day and date in the menu bar - reverting to one of the standard built in 'British' works - but then I lose my day in the menu bar....

It probably means that you do not have "Calendars" selected in iPhone>Settings>iCloud.
