Installed iOS7 on my ipad2 (backed up first) but lost many apps and ability to send mail.

I installed IOS7 after first backing up my ipad2 and now I can't send mail : my outgoing mail servers won't work, and I lost several Apps, unfortunately I did not have a list nor can I remember what they were.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Thank you Skydiver119 for your input. It would appear that even with your suggestion, I did not have much luck. Every time I attempt to pinch the photograph smaller to fit the wallpaper perimeters, to springs back to full size. Most frustrating. I can only hope that Apple will address this shortly with their next update. Thank again.

At 1.3GB available, your storage space is getting very thin no matter what you do further. As long as you have the photo's in the camera roll saved on your computer you can delete them. Just make sure first that they are in your photo software. If updating in iTunes, just backup/sync first, then update, and that will save the camera roll in the backup as well.
At only 1.3GB you eventually are going to find yourself unable to install or update some app, or unable to take any new pictures, or some other limitation that will force you to free up space anyway. So now, before updating, sounds like a good time to make sure everything is backed up or stored somewhere else, and clean house a bit, then update.

If I go tot this window on finder and enter Time Machine I can go back and find old notes...
If so, am I doing this on my new hard drive on on the time machine? When I do this on the time machine, what is "my home"? Also, I am unable to find "containers".
If I go to users/jeff/library, then I see components, compositions, contextual, etc, but not containers.

If your phone is in recovery mode, you've already lost ALL of the data on the phone. Your only choice now is to restore it from your most recent backup. You follow this by syncing your content back to your phone. Any data, on your phone, not backed up or in supported applications on your computer, is gone. iTunes content you can re-download for free.

If you installed Leopard that is why you can't install Mt Lion. The system Must be running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to upgrade to Lion or Mt Lion.
If you only erased the Macintosh HD partition then you left the Mt Lion Recovery HD partition in tact on that system. At startup hold down the Command+r keys to boot to the Recovery HD Partition. From there erase the Macintosh HD partition and then select Reinstall Mac OS X. It should then download Mt Lion and ask you for the Apple ID that was used to purchase Mt Lion.
The Reason Snow Leopard might not be installing is because of the Recovery HD partition. To get rid of that you must First Re-Partition the drive As One Partition. Then install Leopard then SL (Or Snow Leopard from the start) and then update it to 10.6.8. Once that is done you should be able to log on to the Mac App Store and Re-Download Mt Lion.

in order to restore your songs and apps, you should just reconnect to itunes and sync your data. your phone ran a backup before it upgraded, and you can also do a restore. but the key is still to go to your itunes and sync back to your phone what you wanted there in the first place.

Part of the validation for credit cards is that they need to be registered to exactly the same name and address that you have on your iTunes account, which prepaid cards tend not to be. Do you have a proper credit card that you could use ? Or are iTunes gift cards available in your country so that you could try using them as your payment method ?
Until you have a valid payment method on your account and what you owe iTunes has been paid off then you won't be able to download any item from the store, including free apps (and updates to apps).

Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and right-click the iPad 'device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and select 'Restore From Backup' from the pop-up : backups and restoring.
You will need to restore the complete backup to the iPad, you can't just restore photos.

With your playhead over the clip in the timeline and that V track's 'track selector' as the only one active...hit the 'f' key.
This will load the original clip into the viewer at the matching point of the frame in the timeline.

Transferred purchases, backed up iPhone, but still lost 1 app and 1 m/vid

Hi, I purchased an album over the weekend which came with a music video, and also purchased one app. This morning, my phone was mega slow, so decided to restore and set it back up. I transferred my purchases (which worked with no errors), and backed up the phone.
After restoring, I can no longer find the one app, or the music video. The ALBUM is there, as is all my other apps and another single song I purchased over the weekend (at the same time as the album), but no music vid and no app. The vid is only available if you buy the entire album, and the app is £1.19. I've read that I won't be charged again for the app, but what do I do about the music video. Can't find an email to contact anyone at all.

If you've tried contacting the developer and not had a response then you can try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.
