  • I downloaded iTunes but it won't open

Where can I get help?  I need to update an old 4.3.3 iPad to new ios.  So, I need to do it through iTunes.  Well, new laptop since i last used iTunes - several years ago. I tried to download iTunes to this laptop but it will not open. I want to do this so I can get and iPhone and eventually join this century.

    Hey there newredshoes,
It sounds like after updating to the latest iTunes you are unable to open iTunes at all. I want to recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
    Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
    Create a new user account
By creating a new user account, you can determine if the issue affects a specific Windows user account or all accounts. Follow the steps below to create a new user account in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    Choose Start > Control Panel.
Open "Add or remove user accounts." (If you're using the Classic view in Windows Vista, open "User Accounts," and then open "Manage another account.")
Select "Create a new account" and follow the instructions to set up the account.
Once you create the new account, choose     Start > Log Off.
Log in to the new user account.
Open iTunes and see if the issue you're experiencing persists in this new user account.
If you have the same issue in the new user account, proceed to the "System-wide troubleshooting" section. If you don't experience the same issue, proceed to the "User-specific troubleshooting" section.
    User-specific troubleshooting
    System-wide troubleshooting
The User-specific and System-wide links have their own troubleshooting depending on the scenario if you get that far into it.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Photoshop Elements 12. Downloaded & Installed. But it won't open. What do I do now?

I have downloaded and enstalled Photoshop Elements 12. Now it won't open. What do I do?

    What computer? What OS?

  • I installed itunes 10.5 won't open in Win 7

I have tried all suggestions I have read online, I have even done suggestions by apple, I have tried running it in safe mode, I have created a new user and run it, I have deleted everything relating to apple and reinstalled, and nothing, when I tried to open itunes, it pops up with the terms and conditions, I accept them and then nothing, LITERALLY NOTHING!
HELP!!!! I'm loosing my faith in apple,  I have 2 of the exact laptops, bought at the same time, same model, same OS, and it works just fine on my second one.

As with the others on this post, I updated my iTunes this morning on Windows 7 and it does not function. I have done as everyone else on this post has done; the installer says that iTunes was installed, but when launching iTunes, I get the message:
    The procedure entry point
    kCMByteStreamNotification_AvailableLengthChanged could not be located
in the dynamic link library Coremedia.dll
I have completely uninstalled iTunes and downloaded and installed the iTunes64Setup.exe file.  Same results.
It has always amazed me how Apple can have such a great product as the iPhone and yet have such a lousy product as iTunes.  I figure I can tolerate this mess for about 24 hours and then will have to move on to another phone.  Without iTunes, iPhone is dead in the water.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

  • Just installed iTunes 6 and won't open at all...

ugggh! im so frustrated! ok i had the previous iTunes (5.0.1 or something like that) and it worked fantastic but now i downloaded iTunes 6 and it installed fine or whatever but now when I click the shortcut or the icon from the start menu nothing happens. I get no error message or anything. my quicktime works, ive restarted my computer, i realllllly don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall cuz then I'll lose all my music! Everything Apple has worked great until now

    hi Erika!
Norton Internet Security 2005 is always the first thing i check up on with one of these ... been chasing these monsters down since itunes 4.9 (and they've been hitting us since 4.8).
It's still inconvienent that i have to turn that off every time I open iTunes.
hmmm. if you're still having to shut down your NIS 2005 prior to launching itunes even though you have NIS 2005 "permitting all" itunes entries, that's usually a sign that your Norton is also blocking some
    b Quicktime
processes. to fix that try the technique given in Lorraine's post.
    love, b

  • Just installed iTunes and it won't open

I just downloaded iTunes 10.6.1, twice, onto my new compter. I have Windows 7, and a 64-bit Operating System. I did download the 64-bit version of iTunes, so I do not think that is the problem.
The first time the installation worked fine. I plugged in my iPod Touch to sync it, and I did so. I briefly closed out of it and went to reopen and it would not. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It still would not open. After the second installation was finished, there was a dialogue box that said it would open iTunes when I pressed "Finish". I clicked Finish, and iTunes did not open.
I looked through one Troubleshoot guide, and it said to open iTunes in "Safe Mode" but iTunes wouldn't even open.
I'm not really sure what to do... Any help would be great!
    Thank you!

Try restoring your system to the earlier time and then reinstall your iTunes. You might have installed or downloaded something that makes iTunes weird.

itunes installed but it won't open the new version- any advise

    Hello goreckim,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I understand you are having some issues with iTunes on your Mac Pro. You may want to isolate the issue further by testing to see if it persists in a new user account:
Isolating an issue by using another user account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4053
You can also try starting iTunes in safe mode:

    dell   Windows XP
    dell   Windows XP

I actually had this problem re-installing iTunes yesterday.
Click on the Send Error Report and it will, after sending, come up with a microsoft online link thing. Click on that and it goes to this site that says "Apple as infomred Microsoft that they can fix this problem." and then it says, "Follow this link." Click on the link on the page and it will come up to the newest iTunes download page. Download that and it should clear up. Make sure that you have completly uninstalled and deleted all folders in Program files for all iTunes / iPod related services, except your music folder.

  • I am trying to install a trail for InDesign CC to finish a project soon. I downloaded Creative Cloud, the app is in my folder, but it won't open and when I try to download InDesign an error pops up saying Adobe is trying to install malware.

I just installed Creative Cloud in order to download a trial for InDesign. I have the app icon for CC, but it won't open. When it was in my toolbar (on a mac) it just sat there loading for about 15 minutes. I tried restarting it but it won't open at all now. I also tried downloading an InDesign trail and it won't open at all. When I click for it to download an error message pops up saying Adobe is trying to instal malware and asks me if I want to continue. When I say yes, it doesn't do anything. I have a brochure that needs to go to the client by 4pm today! EEK!

Sydneybling it does sound like your security software is interfering with the process of installing and utilizing your Adobe Creative applications.  I would recommend that you try temporarily disabling your security software and utilizing the directions listed at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html to install InDesign CC.
