Installed iTunes but when excessing it, it won't appear

hi
i recently just formatted my new hard disk and installed windows XP Pro Service pack 2. Did up all the updates and installed the new itunes 7.7. But even after transferring all my songs from my removable hard disk into the com, when i try to open up the program, it doesn't appear. although it registers as a process on the task manager, it just won't appear.
so far, i've tried uninstalling and installing an older version, removing my anti virus program and makin sure its not firewalled. does anyone know whats the problem with my com and how i can solve it. would really appreciate it.

OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 requires a Mac with an Intel processor and a few other details; here are the OS X 10.6 technical specifications (including system requirements).  The About This Mac can get you system details, if you don't already know them.
I don't know off-hand of an Intel processor at 667 MHz; that was one of the speeds encountered with the G4-class PPC systems,  Those don't support Snow Leopard AFAIK.  (The most recent similar G4-class PPC Mac was released around 2003.)
Is the Safari icon you are referring to as missing the Safari icon that's often in the dock?
If so, does Safari exist in the Applications directory?
If it does, drag Safari back to the dock.
If Apple Mail.app is no longer set up, then does reconfiguring it work?
It's also possible that there are issues or problems with the upgrade; that's happened occasionally over the years.

Just installed itunes but when i try to open it this error message pops up: "apple application required" then it suggests uninstalling and reinstalling which i've done a few times but nothing works

When you say you have tried everything, it would help if you told us what you have tried to avoid duplication.
When you installed iTunes did you get any error messages?
Anyway, on the face of it it may be worth trying a separate install of Apple application support.
Uninstall iTunes again. Now open Apple Software update, assuming it is working.
It should offer to download iTunes. Don't do it yet, go to the Tools menu and select Download only.
Then download iTunes. Then go to the tools menu again and select Open download folder and you should see a collection of six files.
Before going on, can you get to this stage OK?
One further thing I would like you to check, are you ahving any problems with Windows updates? Could you check in Windows Update to see if there are any failures.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • TS1967 I have just bought a new computer and downloaded latest version of itunes.  It has all installed fine, but when I sync my ipod, it shows all the songs but won't play any of the songs in that library.  Also, I can't add new files.

I have just bought a new computer and downloaded the latest version of itunes.  It has all installed fine, but when I plug my ipod and sync it, the music library shows all the songs and videos that are on there, but won't let me play them.  Also, I can't add any new songs to the same library.  It saves them elsewhere. I have had the previous version on another computer and it worked just fine.  I have been online trying to find an answer but nothing.  Hope someone can help me. Thanks

Installing iTunes does not cause content to magically appear on the computer.
Your media is only where you put it.
iOS devices are not backup devices.
Copy the media from the old computer to the new computer.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
    At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll.

  • My iPod touch 4G 8GB, lets me download apps on iTunes, but when I go to my iPod, and then apps, the entire selection is grey and won't let me click my new apps to add to my iPod. What can I do?

My iPod touch 4G 8GB, lets me download apps on iTunes, but when I go to my iPod, and then apps, the entire selection is grey and won't let me click my new apps to add to my iPod. Usually I just restore my ipod and re-download everything, but thats time consuming, and after I unplug my ipod from the cord connected to my computer, I can replug it right after and this will pop up again. I'm getting tired of doing this.
Like I said, it will let me download the apps off iTune, just when I come to my apps page on my ipod, it won't let me add it to my iPod. I can't download it straight from my ipod either, but iTunes doesn't work on my ipod, and when I update my apps, when they're in waiting they never move. What can I do?

I would say that you are not connected to the iTunes library you last synced with. You can only sync with one iTunes library. If you connect the iPod to another computer/another iTunes library then you get what you see.
You can only manually manage music and videos among different libraries, not apps.

It depends on what iPhone you have.
If it's an iPhone 4S or earlier, click here.
If it's an iPhone 5, you need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and that requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB RAM.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
