Installed iTunes & it wiped out most of my music & i have dupes & triples?

iTunes asked me to update to the new iTunes, so i clicked yes.
as i did it, everything looked/sounded normal.
The a boxed popped up after it was opened say that there is error.xtl something like that?
But did not explain any thing.
Looking at my itunes, i have 465 gb of music (external harddrive) and now i have 139 gb in my iTunes screen?
all my podcasts, playlists, tv, movies etc gone?
also it seems that on my external hard drive i nw have doudle and some times triple o the music????
I hope i still have my music! There is a link on here about relooking for your music. I'm scared to do this as I have read horror stories on here about losing music
(i talked apple on the phone advice about doing something and lost about 200 gb of music that i have to reput back in. With no help)
I have read on here lots of other people having problems with the new version.
and by new version i mean the second to last as im afried what might happen next?
If you can help it would be much thanks and vibes you to you!

  • TS1363 ITunes just wiped out most of the books on my iPod, How do I get it all back on?

ITunes just wiped out most of the books on my iPod, saying device (the same one I've been using for several years) is not authorized. This seems to be a response to getting a new computer and authorizing it (while deauthorizing the five I had authorized). Device authorization in Files does not all authorization (it's pale).
How do I reload on to iPod? It's all on the computer.

Do you load content on the iPod manually (by dragging items to the iPod in iTunes), or do you have automatic sycning set up?
If it's automatic syncing, you need to select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of buttons starting with Summary.  Click on Books there.  This Books screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync audiobooks to the iPod.  Set that up and click Apply.
If you load content manually, just drag the audiobooks you want from the iTunes Books library to your iPod in iTunes.

  • My daughter created a new itunes and wiped out all my aps, music, etc.

A new account was created on my itunes and all of my downloads, aps, music, everything is gone....HELP!!!

    Vicki,
Give her copies of the song files on a USB drive and let her add them to her iTunes library on her new computer.

  • ITunes wiped out most of my music, movies, and games when I synced

I restored the settings on my iPod, downloaded a fresh version of iTunes 7.7, and tried to re-sync at least a half dozen times. No luck. It turns out that somehow my computer had been deauthorized -- I know it wasn't anything I did or didn't do; it happened spontaneously. Once I reauthorized my computer, my iPod starting adding back the songs, movies, and games. Hope this helps some other short-term sufferers from an attack of the iTunes elves.

I think it may be how all of your items are checked under your ipod in Summary and Music and Videos tabs. If you don't check either to sync (if you manually manage music and videos), it removes it. This is very confusing b/c you would think you only want to "sync" stuff that you haven't downloaded to your ipod. Not the case, though. You have to sync everything you want to keep on your ipod....I think
    Hope this helps.

    Hello cgbuehling
You can, but only the purchases that were made from the iTunes Store. Other content that was imported from a CD or other sources will not transfer over.

  • ITunes update wiped out my music and apps.  When I got everything back, now it won't sync.  It says I don't have enough space on iPod.  I have more than enough.

I Updated itunes and it wiped out all of my music and apps.  I had over 4500 songs and had to reload.  Some from backup, some from cd's.  Now when I try to sync my IPods and IPad, it says I don't have enough space to sync.  I know I do because I have less now than when I would sync before all of the nice update.

Depending on how you recovered the library iTunes may see the restored files as "new" content and not match them properly with what is already on the device. See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash for the way I would normally approach the issue. You may need to manually backup and then restore the device in order to fix things.

  • ITunes completely wiped out.

so i just got a new laptop for my birthday and i wanted to transfer my iTunes library to it to make it easier. but i accidentally wiped out the entire thing and i have no way of getting it back. everything is still on my iPod, but i don't know how to get my music/videos from there to my new iTunes. can anyone help me please?
oh, and i currently use windows 7

With a nod to veteran poster Zevoneer...here's what you should know.
The transfer of content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod, but there are third-party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. Some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Check out the web pages for more info. This is just a sample of what's available.

My HTC One received a software update yesterday, and it wiped out most of the theme and live wallpaper options. How do I get the previous options back?

This was NOT an update, rather a downgrade... the font size in text messages is now smaller and difficult to read. I have tried changing font size in settings and it does not apply to text messages. The lock/unlock screen pattern now reminds me of drawing a stick figure. My vehicle is now having problems with Bluetooth importation of my phone book--I keep receiving an on screen error message as it tries to continuously reattempt to import... And yes, the live weather wallpaper i favored is no longer an option... Why?

  • HT204308 ITUNES KEEPS WIPING OUT ALL MY DOWNLOADS WHAT IS GOING ON

ITUNES KEEPS WIPING OUT ALL MY DOWNLOADS AND IT TAKES HOURS TO RELOAD THEM AGAIN, MY LIBRARY IS SUDDENLY EMPTY WHAT IS GOING ON

    Hi
Check and see what version of iTunes you are using. If it's version 11 or 12 in any flavour the default is to delete podcasts after they are played. You have to go into podcast settings and tell iTunes not  to delete your podcasts (settings will also show how often to update podcast feed). After that EACH AND EVERY PODCAST episode you download has to be saved or iTunes will take the liberty of deleting those episodes after they have been played (at least that is my experience). Also iTunes behaves very differently in Podcast and episode views of podcasts.
    Hope this works for you.

  • Seems like the iTunes app has lost most of my music. How can I get my music back?

Seems like the iTunes app has lost most of my music. How can I get my music back?

A new version shouldn't do that but it does seem to happen on occasion to a few unlucky ones.  Restore your library from the backup you make of your computer before you install new software.  If you don't have one, this is a learning experience.
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • Finally got round to buying an iPhone 4, really excellent to start with. The sharing of music from my Mac Mini was excellent. ios6 update has ruined all that! The artist view miss's out most of my music and the sharing sometimes doesn't work at all!

How do I get this feature working again? I am reluctant to move to iTunes 10.7 because I don't trust Apple at the moment.

    My suggestion:
    1) Always using MAC AIR with the power plug in.
2)Don' let the power level of battory fall under 30% percentage.
3)If the MAC can't be recharged now, just let it be with power plugged, WAIT...
