Installed latest ver. of Firefox, getting graphical glitches when scrolling

While using Firefox on my LG Optimus e400 phone, the screen starts to flicker with images of the status bar and produce other weird graphical glitches. When I stop scrolling, the flickering goes away, but if I try to scroll up or down on the phone I get graphics glitches. I will try to get a screenshot if possible

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get itunes to launch properly afterwards?

I keep downloading and installing latest version (8) of Firefox. The browser states I have Firefox 8. However, on Google Mail and some other websites I get a message stating I am running an out of date unsupported version of Firefox.

Installed latest iTunes now Firefox very slow

I installed the latest version of iTunes. Now when I use Firefox getting to sites very slow. I'm talking about just common ones like Yahoo or Facebook.
Also noticed my Dropbox won't connect from PC.
Nothing else changed.
Running windows 7.

Getting horizontal wrinkles when scrolling down in active window of firefox.

Using latest version of Firefox on a Dell XPS 630i, Win 7 Pro. Using an HP w2338h monitor set to 1620 x 1050 at 60 Hz. Video card is aNVIDIA GeForce GTS 240. Logitech Anywhere MX Mouse.
When scrolling down I get wrinkles across the screen when I hit some text. When I keep scrolling it goes away but reappears lower on the screen. It;s quick and barely noticeable, but just enough to be a pain.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

I have a Max OS X. I have tried over and over to download the latest version of Firefox without success. When I open Firefox it props me to download the lastest version. Why is this not downloading? nruddell@primus.ca

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

Why does Firefox get hung up, when opening new pages? I've tried disabling plugins and extensions to no avail.

Initially, when I open Firefox everything opens very quickly. However, after several minutes it gets hung up when opening new pages. I have close the browser and reopen it to start over. But each time it does the same thing. Works well at first then poops out. The trouble started yesterday. Before then, I never had any problems.
I've tried disabling all the plugins and extensions, but it doesn't make any difference.

Safari graphical corruption when scrolling

Safari is showing some strange graphical corruption on an IBM documentation site when I try to scroll. For example, if I scroll down in the upper right-hand frame, it looks like the image below. Slow scrolling causes worse corruption, fast scrolling less:
I see this using the latest Safari (5.1) on a 2011 MBP with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and on two 2009 iMacs with Lion 10.7.0. Switching to another tab and coming back corrects the problem, and sometimes bringing another window in front and then going back to Safari does the same. This suggests that the problem is probably within Safari or OS X rather than in the web page itself.

I tried on one Mac running Lion / Safari 5.1 and on a Mac running Snow Leopard / Safari 5.1. No difference, same graphics glitch.
I tried the site on Firefox and it rendered as it should so I think you are correct in assuming it's a Safari issue not the webpage itself.

Graphical problems when scrolling an applet

I'm having problems with graphical glitches on my applet.
THe applet is located at http://www.planetside.info/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=78&page=1&index=1
You will notice that, if you scroll up and down, occasionally parts of the applet become 'smudged' or some of the writing disappears or gets repeated a bit. I'm pretty new to java (just finished my first year on computer science) and we never really did much on applets so i'm still learning a lot :-) Any help on how to get rid of these graphical glitches would be VERY much appreciated.

I've only got one paint method and that is the main one in the base class. I've actually always disliked it. It basically contains all the location setting of all the components on the applet. I always thought these should be put in init, but whenever I do that, it fails to set their location.
Still, this is what my paint method looks like (well, a bit of it, its long)

Poor graphics redraw when scrolling Word documents

I have a strange blurring effect when scrolling Word documents on my Macbook pro, as if the graphic card had trouble refreshing: the screen is interspersed by horizontal irregular lines that make it impossible to read the text.
I have recently replaced the logic board. Anyone has an idea of what this could be?

I've only seen this in Word, and only in Page Layout view. It does not occur in Notebook view (although there are other stability issues with that view). At the moment I'm working on a 125 page document that I am writing, and scrolling through there are no problems.

Firefox 18 - Graphics Glitch on Startup

I have updated Firefox on 3 different machines, all with different graphics processors, but get the same glitch on every one. It appears for a few seconds as Firefox starts up, and consists of a window in the top lefhand corner of the screen showing the desktop background.

Has anyone else seen this, and can anyone suggest a fix?

It appears for me as well (dwm + intel i915). It is only there for a split second though, not for seconds as the op said. It was sufficiently brief that I didn't give it a second thought.

When trying to install newest version of Firefox, get administator password box popup

I had firefox 15.0.1 on my computer, I tried to update, and could not. So, I uninstalled the older version, thinking that there was some sort of conflict between the old and newer versions. So, when I try to install Firefox 16.0.1, I get an administrator pop up box saying I need rights to continue. The word administrator is in the user name box, and the password box is empty. I have never entered/ or used an administrator password, and cannot figure out why this box keeps coming up. My system is a PC using Windows 7 32 bit.
