Installed LR2.6 and lost Camera Calibrations and....
Installed LR2.6 a couple of days ago and now everytime I start it, it wants me to enter my seriel number, but also I do not have any of the Nikon Camera Calibrations availailable, Only the ACR 4.6 Calibration. What gives? Do I need to install ACR 5.6 also? I do have PS CS4 so I guess I need to install it anyways. But what about having to re-enter my series. Wouldn't be a problem except that I'm away from home for a few days and don't have access to the LR boxes. This for Windows verson.

That didn't work, but here's what was happening, I uninstalled LR2.6 to roll back to LR2.5. But when I was installing 2.5 I was getting an error message that a Fold Called - "ProgramData/Adobe/CameraRaw" could not be created. After doing so troubleshooting, I firgured that the folder was locked and LR did not have the right to modify the folder. SO I went in and changed permissions and unlocked the folder. Got LR 2.5 installed, but now each time I launch LR, it wants my serials. I enter them and it doesn't take the number and have to re-enter each time I launch it. Any suggestions? Using Windows 7 Home Edition.

Working with both Canon (6D) and Fuji (X-T1) RAW images. Can not locate any camera calibration info for either camera's raw files. Nothing listed in the camera raw folder for any camera.
Everything I have read seems to tell me that there would / should be some information for one or both of my cameras.It really isn't clear what you are asking. If you are looking for the profiles for your cameras you would go to the calibration tab in the develop module and click to choose from different profiles. Profiles will only be available for raw files, including DNG files.

Camera Raw 5.5 will not install? And Camera calibration button question.
I just built a new computer with 7 PRO and installed all my software. So when it comes time to instal 5.5 raw it goes about half way through and tells me to shut off Bridge. As far as I know the bridge window and program are off and not running. I even unpined it off the taskbar.
In CS4 when opening a Raw file and I go to my camera calibration botton there are only two options that come up, Arc 3.3 and 4.4. Where are all the other options at? Do they come with the 5.5 update? Thanks KeigKeiger wrote:

Odds are you've got Bridge set to auto-launch at startup...make sure it's not running when you try to install the update.,.and yes, the update should install the addition DNG Profile options. -
How to Save Camera Calibration and Lens Correction in Camera raw 6.1
I downloaded and installed the Camera Raw 6.1 release candidate. I open an image and set the camera calibration and the lens correction to auto for Nikon. I save these settings as new Camera raw defaults, but when I open other images, the changes were not made. How can I save these items as defaults?
SwilaSwila, were your "other images" previously edited in Camera Raw? I.e., do they already have saved image settings? The defaults that you save via the flyout menu will only apply to new images, or if you reset an existing image to the defaults. (e.g., choose "Camera Raw Defaults" from the flyout menu).

Sounds like it isn't to serious. the Bluetooth connection had an error and that is that generated
the Problem report.
When the Blackberry started to use Bluetooth the "gold standard" was using Microsoft's
"native" windows drivers. Now, every major PC company has there own version

There is rather involved and lengthy procedure to check and install the correct Bluetooth drivers
in the Dell, but I really don't think you want to take that on.( Nod you head and say H*LL YES)
Here is what I propose;
The problem report needs to be resolved or it wont go away. Read the manual, call Dell,
try apologizing to it and that you'll never never do it again, what ever it takes!

By storing media in that memory, you effect are wasting X amount for file storage.
Store all media and files on the media card, and you will have a smooth running device.

media a snap. You will need the USB adapter that came with it, but you can get that at
your local carrier store.

On the Blackberry go to the options icon,click then scroll up to ABOUT.
I need your software version number, it's listed in this format: 4.x.x.xxx.

I am shooting with a Nikon D300 in RAW/NEF format. When I upload pics shot on camera in b/w, they are opening in color in PE10. I'm not familiar with setting/installing camera profiles, etc. What camera calibration setting should I be using in PE10?
Thanks!You need to shoot raw+jpeg when using monochrome. The NEF will always capture RGB data.
You can of course convert the NEF to B&W in Camera Raw and Elements.

Color artifacts with A7s and A6000 files using Camera calibration profiles
I'm seeing some really obvious chroma artifacts / false colors with RAW files from either a Sony A7s or A6000 when using any of the Adobe-provided Camera calibration profiles that emulate Sony's rendering.
This seems to happen at any ISO, and is very frequent.
If I use the Adobe Standard calibration profile then things look normal, but that's might just be because it produces rather desaturated images compared to the "sony" profiles.
Prior to those Sony cameras I was using Nikon DSLRs for which I had somewhat similar issues when using the first version of the Nikon camera profiles.
Those issues got fixed when Adobe released the "v4" camera profiles.
Below are some examples without any adjustment, the only difference is the choice of camera calibration profile:

Adobe Standard:The legacy ACR X.x profiles are no more produced nor included for newer cameras (AFAIK, since ACR 5.1/LR 2.1). The Adobe Standard is the new default starting point for these.
While I am at it....are the Canon camera profiles I downloaded for the 1Ds MKII the same as for the 5D MKII or do I have to download different one...I suspect they are the same or Lightroom wouldn't offer them to me...is that correct?
The profiles are different for each camera model, even if they share the same name in the Calibration panel. If you can see them when developing 5DII files, it means the camera-specific profiles are installed for your particular camera model (otherwise, you wouldn't see them). -
Installed LR2. Now it, PS and Bridge all crash after I launch them.
I installed Lightroom 2 on my Mac yesterday and now when I try to launch Lightroom, Photoshop or Bridge they get through the credits and open, but quickly crash before I can do anything. I have run software update on all Adobe products and Mac OS. Using CS4. I have Mac OS X (10.5.7) on a Dual 2.7 GHz PowerPC G5 with 5 GB of RAM. Never had a problem with Photoshop or Bridge before installing LR2. Would love to get any input on how to solve this. Thank you!
While more would be good you generally see only performance degradation with
low disk space. 28 GB in general is just fine if they are typical NEFs from
a typical 10 MP or so Nikon. I am starting to think that something else is
wrong on your system. Installing Lightroom should have no effect whatsoever
on your PS install as they are completely independent except for writing to
the camera RAW cache. Perhaps what you should try is something drastic like
installing the latest combo update

your OS and then running the software update to get the latest security
updates. You should also run adobe's updater from within Photoshop (in the
help menu).

I don't know how to do this. I typed the question in the bar above, but apparently need to type it again here. I lost my entire address book when I installed Mountain Lion and have been unable to recover it. I know the information is in there as when I type in someone's name in an email the address always shows up right away. How can I find the information for my contacts and restore my address book? Do I need to go to the Apple Store that is 2 hours away and have an expert help me or can I find out how to do it online for free myself?
The auto-complete in Mail addresses comes from two sources: (1) The "Previous Recipients" list, which can be viewed via Mail > Window > Previous Recipients. (2) Your Address Book (now called "Contacts").
If you did in fact lose your Address Book - are you sure you don't have "Contacts" in your Applications Folder? - It sounds like you are getting addresses from source (1). If you did in fact lose your Address Book (now called "Contacts" !!), you will have to restore it from a backup.

I just downloaded and installed Photoshop cc and the Camera Raw version is not the latest one available,so now I can no longer open files from my Nikon D750! Can I update ACR?
I have been using the new version of ACR with PS6 and have been able to open the D750 files,now I'm stuck.

Camera Raw Camera Calibration Tab and 5D Mark III
I don't think that many people do this in camera raw, but it was kind of an important step in my workflow with the Canon 7D before and is just not working the same way with the 5D Mark III now.
In the Camera Calibration Tab (Third from the right side) I always changed Camera Profile from Adobe Standard to Camera Standard or Camera Portrait. This step made the image automatically look better, contrast was better and the highlights look a lot better that way. Of course the "Camera Portrait" option makes the image a lil bit red, like the Picture Style in the camera does. But it was an easy adjustment with the Hue Slider of the Red Channel. Like I already said - really great improvement of the image on the 7D raw files, beautiful highlights, shiny, contrasty and so on... Same stuff worked with 5D Mark II perfectly, too.
Now with the 5D Mark III the "Camera Portrait" option, my favourite one, gets me pretty bad results. The Image is too strong oversaturated, too much red in the skintones and in the shadows, too! Shadow contrast gets worse and I can't control this settings the way I did before with the hue/saturation sliders of the channels. It's too extreme red or it's too yellow, but not something right between this extremes. And the highlights get some green tint, so it's no real optimization of the image overall quality at all, like with the other cameras. I don't know if the support of the 5DMIII is still not up to date... It is not only my camera, I also have asked other photographers with a 5D Mark III and they have the same issues changing the camera profile. Lightroom has exactly the same effect... It would be great, if an Adobe Employee can forward this issues, so that it gets tweaked with the further updates and 5dm3 will work the same way in camera raw like mark 2 or 7D.

These rules apply:
- if you use white balance "as shot", then white balance in ACR will be the same as from camera or DPP (in a sense - what is white color in ACR will be white in DPP also). However, color temperature/tint shown in ACR will be probably slightly different than value recorded in exif of jpeg or raw file. It's because in that case, whitebalancing is performed using some metadata in raw file by both ACR or DPP, while temperature displayed in ACR is calculated from that metadat using color matrices in selected profile, according to a formula from one book (as documented in dng sdk), while DPP is probably using some other formula or slightly different color matrices
- the same will happen if you use WB dropper on exactly the same position in the photo by both ACR and DPP
- but, if you use the same temperature preset in ACR and DPP (for instance 5200 K), then white in ACR and DPP will probably be a bit different, because whitebalancing is performed in oposite direction now (ACR calculates RGB multipliers from that temperature and using color matrices in the profile)

Right click on one of the other headers and a popup will appear and you can select the ones you need to view.

Camera Raw will not install on my mac,os 10.7.5. When I click on the install package the main install screen opens and that is as far as I can proceed with the down load. I have to force quit the software and try again. I have deleted and downloaded the software several times to no avail. I need some help.
Appreciate your help Ian and others. I have since uninstalled FCS and reinstalled FCXP only to get the same thing. Loading FCXP stalls at "Looking for Compressor Support". When I first downloaded FCXP from the App store I didn't notice that FCS was being placed in it's own folder. It's not something I did manually. Although moved into it's own folder with FCXP on the same drive. I was not able to open FCS apps. They would load and then "quit unexpectantly". They opened just fine before I downloaded FCXP. Do I need to purchase Compressor so that FCXP recognizes it? It seems this is where it stalls. It doesn't explain however why my computer "FREEZES" while doing this. I am in the process of re-installing Lion to see if this helps, otherwise I am at a complete loss.
