Installed Portal Add ON / FORUM / Systemadministration - Navigation Cache?!

Hi,
i installed the Add ON FORUM for our Portal.
I ve restarted the whole Portal after that.. now the Menupoint:
Navigation Cache under System Administration - Detailed Navigation is gone?
I only see there: Short URLs... before i installed the FORUM Component there was over "Short URLs" The Point:
Navigation Cache...?!
Did anybody knows whats happened there? How can i clear now the Navigation cache?
Please help.

Is there another methode to clear the Navigation Cache? Or did anybody else faced the same problem in the past?

  • Where will I find the Tumblr Savior icon? Installed the add-on, but can't use it. No information could be found on Mozilla/Firefox forums/help topics.

    I have searched the Firefox for PC help topics using multiple searches, re-installed the add-on, checked Yahoo, checked the developer website, I have even searched Tumblr--and the best answer was there (ie instructions, screen caps) and required me switching to Chrome.
    I am no computer professional, but I would like to use the add-on you make available. I have checked multiple sources, including your own. Tell me what I am doing wrong...

    I'm not sure whether you've tried the usual starting points. In the newish 3-Bar(hamburger) Button, click on customise and search in the palette for the icon. If it is there drag it to one of the toolbars.
    If not, see if it is stranded on the not-showing Add-ons Bar. Right click on a toolbar space and check Add-ons Bar if it is there. The bar will show at the bottom of the screen and may have some icons on it. Those icons can usually be dragged up to one of the top toolbars.
    Recent reviews of this Add-on don't look encouraging.

  • Navigation is cached - even when navigation cache is disabled?!

    I seem to have a problem clearing the navigation cache. Whenever I change a role of workset in the PCD, the change is not visible until some time has passed (perhaps 100 minutes, I will try to verify that).
    If I change a page (like inserting a new iView) the change is visible immediatly.
    This sounds like a fairly standard "flush the navigation cache" problem, but that does not solve the problem. I have disabled all the caches in "System Administration -> Navigation -> Navigation cache" and have also cleared all of them just for good measure.
    I have used Firebug in firefox to verify that this is not a browser cache problem. For example I have a folder in the role that contains two pages. I add a third page, flush all browser caches, close the browser and reload the page. In firebug I can see that I get a "200 OK" response that only includes the original two pages - not the new third page.
    I have also tried clearing the PCD cache in "System Administration -> Support -> Portal Content Directory -> PCD Administration -> Release cache". When I do that I can see (again with firebug) that the request is taking slightly longer the first time (around 300ms instead of the usual ~70ms). However, the new page is still not visible.
    The only thing that help (besides waiting) is to restart the entire portal. The changes are then visible immediatly.
    I have even tried clearing the HTTP cache, which also does not help.
    What other caches could there be besides the navigation cache, the PCD cache, the HTTP cache or the browser cache? How can I debug this problem further?

    I tried clearing the DB cache (by using /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.prt.cache.PRTRegionDBClear). No change (change to role is still being cached).
    I used the PCD Inspector and verified that the contents are identical to what I see in Content Administration -> Portal Content (which is different from what is rendered in the top navigation and detailed navigation).
    We only have one server node running.
    I tried deploying the .PAR-file from SAP support (and restarted). This made no changes so now I am waiting for them to get back to me.

  • How do I move my TABS below the address bar WITHOUT having to install an add on ?? may have to goto another browser now!

    Firefox just updated and now my TABS are above the address bar...
    I do not wish to add another add on, it should be basic functionality to do this (as in previous versions)
    The vast population of users also want this according to the forums.
    How do I do this without having to resort to a "FIX" or an add on as this would add to memory usage.. ??
    Why have you removed this functionality?

    So if I dont want to install an add you suggest installing an add on???
    PS, I dont want to install an addon!!

  • Navigation Cache - Loading Web Dynpro iview

    Hello Experts,
    I developed a simple WebDynpro that count the access number to a single portal page.
    And I put it in a Role.
    In a cluster environment I had different results depending on the cluster instance I use.
    If I do a Logon in the central instance and navigate the role I get a value of access number.
    If I do a Logon in the dialog instance and navigate the role I get a different value of access number.
    The value in the database is always the same..
    Could it be a cache problem??
    What can I do??

    Did you try clearing the navigational cache on dialog server and also in Central Instance?
    In Portal Navigate to System Administration - Navigation - Clear Navigation Cache.
    And test the application again and see if it got resolved...
    Or
    Go to Index.html side and go to Web Dynpro Tools, and go to Invalidation of ARFC Metadata Cache - In section Dictionaries Cache Invalidation - click on the button to get teh application using the JCO connection and invalidate the cache...

    Is there any way to delete a pages navigation cache when a user navigates backwards via the WP back button?
    e.g. page saves state when user follows link in that page and returns to it. However if a user navigates away from the page using the back button and then returns to it then no state is saved and it reloads

  • Add a Forum - Business Catalyst / Muse

    Hey Guys,
    thanks a lot for helping me out there.
    I would like to add a Forum (Bulletin Board) to my Catalyst page, which is in the hosting+ plan and is fed throught Muse.
    In the catalyst overview there is no option to add modules like suggested in the help file provided by adobe. ( Business Catalyst Help | Add a forum )
    When uploading a custom forum like phpbb and SMF I cannot access the files on the server to install it.
    I got no idea where to go or start from.

    What error are you receiving when you attempt to open or work with the .muse file?
    There's no way to go from a website back to a .muse file. If all that currently exists is the output HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Images the only way back to a .muse file would be to recreate it.

  • Caching on detailed navigation besides navigation cache?

    Hello Everyone,
    We use Btexx EasyWCM as a content management system on our SAP NW portal.
    When we create a new page in the portal it should appear directly in the detailed navigation, but instead it appears much much later, often after more then an hour. The same happens when deleting a page.
    We thought of navigation cache at first but we disabled it and the problem was still there.
    Because the new page does appear after a while, what makes it time-based, we still think it might be a caching issue. We don't know what other caches influence the detailed navigation.
    The page does appear in the PCD (role) directly after it is made, same goes for deletion.
    We tried a restart already, but that didn't resolve anything. And I donu2019t think it's a network problem because the PCD updates instantly. Just the detailed navigation doesn't. Even when we changed the customised detailed navigation back to the standard SAP detailed navigation there was no difference.
    We tried creating a page directly on the server so the caches of the proxy's etc could be excluded and the problem was still there.

    that's good to hear. But you do not need not turn the navigation cache off.
    easyWCM supports the new Navigation Cache API. If a editor changes navigation structures, easyWCM automatically invalidates the relevant roles from the cache.
    Please check if your SAP Portal release and easyWCM release supports that feature.

    probably, this file was downloaded via Internet Explorer, from the IE "Internet" zone?
    If so, the Alternate Data Stream, on the file, will have the Zone.Identifier populated.
    If you right-click the file in Windows Explorer, do you get the "Unblock" button offered?
    If so, click Unblock, and then try your script again.

  • Some malfunction after install portal system

    We are preparing Portal Production system (EP 6.0 Portal SP15 + KMC SP15).
    After we installed Portal System, I found some malfunction in portal.
    malfunction 1.
    a. I logon portal and click "system administration" menu.
    b. I checked there is no horizental scroll bar in dynamic nagigation area.
    c. I clicked "collapse" icon in detailed navigation.
    d. horizental scroll bar displayed in dynamic nagigation area.
    Why did horizental scroll bar display in dynamic nagigation area in spite of
    we have enough area ?
    malfunction 2.
    a. I logon portal and click "system administration" menu.
    b. I clicked "tran menu" icon in portal favorite.
    c. browser error displayed ....
    Anyone experience this problem.
    How can we fix this problem ?

    Are you accessing the Portal with the IP address, if yes then you have to access it with the FQDN (Fully Qualified domain name) OR with the Host name atleast.

    Hi Rahul,
    By default the navigation cache is turned off. So check the property portal.navigation.cache.enable which should be true for the navigation cache to work.
    You can check it in Visual administrator in com.sap.portal.prt.sapj2ee under services

  • New Portal add-in for JDeveloper

    Hi,
    I just installed the new Portal add-in for JDeveloper 9.0.3 which additionnally to the existing JPDK portlets supports now the new standard JSR168 portlets generation.
    When trying to generate standard portlets, the wizard starts OK and all the screen are there, but when clicking on the finish button to generate the code, nothing seems to happen and no error message or anything is displayed !!
    Any suggestion ??
    My operating system is W2K workstation using JDeveloper 9.0.3.2.

    It sounds like you haven't followed the download and install instructions for the portlet container (called 'PDK Standards Preview' on portal studio).
    Although the jdev addin can build portlets suitable for **any** jsr 168 compliant container, part of the install depends on jar files in the JWSDP 1.2 distribution which you download as part of the container install.
    Check the jdev addin install doc again, specifically pre-requisite number 2.
    If you don't want to use the Oracle JSR 168 container, then just download JWSDP 1.2 from java.sun.com and grab the same jar files from that. Although, note that in this case the deployment instructions in the tutorial article will not apply - as they are oc4j/jdev specific. You'll have to figure out how to deploy into your chosen container yourself.

    After installing add-on,when Firefox ask me to restart to complete installation,in extensions folder it creates staged folder,but when i restart,this folder will removed and add-on not installed.
    The Problem first happened when some extensions would not uninstalled and Firefox keep saying that addon will be uninstalled after restart,but nothing happen after restart.

    After safe mode not worked either,I uninstalled extension with their IDs manually.After that I cannot install any add-on that needs restart.

    This can be caused if one of the files that stores details of installed extensions is corrupt.

    # Delete the following files if they exist, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini and extensions.sqlite
