Installed Premiere Elements 12 - now won't open
I installed Premiere 12 on our toshiba laptop running Windows 7. It worked fine for one project, but now when I try to open another project nothing happens. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but still nothing. Even going into the Organizer and trying to open the video editor from there, or open a new PE project from there, nothing. No error code, no nothing.
Please help!

HELP!!!... Premiere Elements 12 suddenly won't open
In December 2013 I purchased and installed Premiere Elements 12 and it was working fine. I have completed a project in it that I am ready to publish, but now when I try to launch the program it gets to the quick time part of loading (if you watch what the text says near the bottom of the window as it loads, it get to quick time and then quits). Really frustrated by this and hoping someone has a solution to help me correct without losing my project. Thanks.

Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
Can you open a new project? If so, do so, and, while you have the project open, go to Help Menu/Update and update from 12 to 12.1.

Adobe Premiere Elements 9 just won't open!
I always did many projects on it and now all of the sudden it just won't open. There will be this little rectangle at the bottom saying it's loading and it never opens!! I'm so mad! Please help

Premiere Elements 8 Project Won't Open. Please Help.

I was working on a Premiere Elements 8 project for my video class last night (HDV, 1080i 30p) and the program stopped responding as I was importing a clip. I was prompted to wait for response or close the program. I closed the program and when I tried to re-open my project, the loading dialog box reaches 100% and then does nothing. I let it sit for over 30 minutes and nothing changed. When I clicked cancel after 30 minutes, I was prompted with the same "program is not responding" box. Other projects open fine, but this one simply will not. After reading through the forums, I disabled McAfee and updated Quicktime, but I am still having the same problem. I have 6 GB of free RAM and I am using footage shot on my DSLR. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated as the project is due this week.

JakeOK, there is possibly a problem with one (or more) Assets.
This next step might be easy, or not, depending on how you have your Assets arranged on your computer.
The easiest is if one has the Assets, or Copies of them, in sub-folders below the Project's hierarchy. See this article for an example: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4028199#4028199
I would Move the Assets from their location, so that PrE cannot initially find them, and attempt to load their links. Then, launch PrE, and Open that Project (since the AutoSaves do not work better, just go with the original Project here). You should get the dialog, "Where is file ____ ?" See this article for more details and tips: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4598705#4598705.
If one has many types of Assets, such as Still Images, AVI's, MOV's, etc., it would be easier if one Moved each Asset type to a new, and separate sub-folder, for this next step.
At "Where is file ____ ?" navigate to where you Moved that requested file. See if it loads. Per the above article, you will see that PrE will then survey that folder, the one that you just navigated to, and try to load each missing Asset IN that folder, and re-link to them. If all goes well, then you should get that same dialog messege for the next Asset type. Repeat. Do this until you get the hang on an Asset. At that point, DO NOT Save the Project. Instead, Save_As and increment the name. That is IMPORTANT.
Then, Move that faulting Asset elsewhere, and test Opening the Save_As Project. If all works fine, then you know that there is a problem with THAT Asset. You should study it carefully, to see what the problem is. If it plays fine elsewhere, and is not different, than other good Assets, then try Importing it again, into that Save_As Project.

Premiere Elements 12 Files Won't Open Correctly in Windows 8 (64 bit)
I haven't found a good format yet that will opening correctly in Windows 8. Some open with video only, others open with audio only, one opens video and audio but the image is elongated. Nearly all of the file formats I tried that wouldn't open in Windows 8 were fine on a Vista PC

Please give the specific properties of the source media that you are trying to import into Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8 64 bit. I have Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8.1, previously 8, 64 bit and am not having the same type of issue that you present.
For your source video, what is
Video Compression
Audio Compression
Frame Size
Frame Rate
Interlace or Progressive
File extension
Pixel Aspect Ratio
What is the camera that these videos are coming from - brand/model/settings for recording?
The project preset should match the properties of the source media. In Premiere Elements 12, the program takes over the job of doing the setting of the project preset. Sometimes it does it right. Sometimes not. When not, then you set the project preset manually based on what you know are the properties of your source media. So, it is important to know the properties of the source media to set up the project correctly.
There are certain video compression that are not compatible with Premiere Elements (any version), others incompatible on some computers but not others. So back to need for properties for your source videos to sort out what we are dealing with.
Please put together the information requested, and we will work with you to get the importing, editing, and exporting of the program that you want (if possible).

When I click Elements 12 a screen pops up with a red install icon, I click it and it askes for the serial number. It won't let me type in letters only numbers. I already did the serial number once. How do I get this to work? I don't want to be a programer!

Installed Firefox 4.0, it crashed during it first open when it says things like transferring settings etc. now won't open. Have tried rebooting/uninstalling etc.

Final Cut Pro 6 installed. Now won't open. Help!
Installed FCP 6 a week ago. Need to edit reel asap. The program now won't open, thus I can't edit. If anyone has ideas on how to solve, extra bonus points and gold stars. Deadline for TV reel was yesterday. Can anyone advise? Have restarted, and tried everything. My clips are all captured and ready to drop, drag and make DVD and link. If so, it sounds like they reinstalled the OS and then migrated your applications from the old HD.
Bad. Bad. BAD.
The Final Cut Studio installer places many files at system level, some are in folders that are normally invisible to the user. Migration does not bring those files across, so FCP will not work properly and will typically refuse to open.
Back to the digitalrebellion site for you.
This time, get a free copy of FCS Remover. Run it and then completely re-install FCS from the original DVD set. -
For unknown reasons iTunes will no longer open. I have an HP laptop running windows 7 with Kaspersky protection. It worked fine before but now won't open. I tried downloading the most recent up-date and it will still not open. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply with additional information.
Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue

Error code when installing Premiere Elements
Hello -- I tried to install Premiere Elements 9 (haven't gotten around to it until now) and I got the following. The disk won't install and I have re-started my system twice. Both times my MacBook "spits out" the disk and I get this error message:
Could you please let us know the exact error message that you get while installing PSE 9. Also, if possible please atach the error screenshot along with the system details.
Try to copy the contents of the disk to the desktop and try installing it from there and check if that helps. -
Msiexec error when installing Premiere Elements
I had a very disappointing time with support and still cannot install my new copy of PS Premiere Elements.
I downloaded the softare. Installed the PS Elements. It was smooth.
I then tried to install Premiere Elements and it does not work.
When I started the .exe it asked for a place to extract files. I did this. Then it tried to install. But after a while I get this box with the msiexec commands listed in it. Eg.

When I try using the Adobe Premiere Elements 10.msi then i get an error

Install Adobe Premiere Elements 10 using the setup.exe in the root folder.
I called support. They had me extract files into a folder off of eg C:\PS
I did this. Started the setup.exe, Same error as above msiexec.
He then had me install it with the runas administrator. I tried same error.
He then told me to create a new account on the computer with admin privileges. I didn’t really like this, but I did this . And restarted the setup but still same msexec error.
The support person said it was an admin error. Sadly I think he is wrong, he just read the message and quickly gave the first thing he could think of. I asked him why he felt that, and he said based on the error. However sadly I don’t believe he is understanding the “error” He saw the words “Administrative install - Installs a product on the network” (see above) and quickly said oh its an admin problem. I didn’t realize at the time that this is not really an error message regarding the administrator, but just the output of a badly formed command, with a default output of a badly formed command.
Let me explain..
What I believe is that somehow the script that is running the install is trying to run the msexec program and the output is simply the output of the msexec program when the parameters are not right. In fact if you open a dos prompt and type msiexec you get the exact same output. The error is not really an error but just the output like any other of a command with no perimeters. Like if you type defrag or copy from the command prompt with out the right parameters. The command gives a response. For some reason the support person saw the word “administrator” and quickly jumped to the conclusion oh its an administrator issue that was the error. The support person kept asking me if that was all and was definitely trying to get rid of me. It quite frankly was very disappointing that he didn’t know this how to resolve the issue and just wanted me to go away.
Can anyone tell me how to install this program. I am on a domain and have both domain and local passwords. Im using windows XP.

the problem is adobe's fault, a faulty script or something on the dvd.
in my situation, to get this program installed, i decided to do the following:
1) optional: copy the install dvd to hard drive.
2) locate the adobe premiere elements 10.msi file.
3) type in msiexec /a "adobe premiere elements 10.msi" /qb TARGETDIR="C:\tempfolder"
to unpacked the msi archive.
4) go into the c:\tempfolder/programfiles/Adobe
5) optional: copy or move the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 folder into your c:\Program Files\Adobe folder so it sits with the rest of your adobe programs
6) you have to make your own desktop icon
7) when you go into the premiere elements folder click on Adobe Premiere Elements.exe to start the program
8) it may tell you to download the Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager
so download it if necessary. the ApplicationManager2.0_all.exe file will silently install.
this does work HOWEVER, it doesnt really install it with all the registry etc. and doesnt integrate it into the PSE. So I dont think this is really the right option.

The version of the install software is definetely 32 bit. eg its PremiereElements_10_LS15_win32.exe with the corresponding win32 zipped file.
BTW the fact that I can extract the files and then run the program as a stand alone program means I think? that it is the right version and can run on this computer. Its obviously an install issue it seems.
The version of XP i have is XP prof sp3 version 5.1 build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.101209-1647
Based on your comment regarding the install version, I found and downloaded the 4.5 version of the msiexec software. Tried to install the PE again and got the same error ... EXCEPT that now the output comes from the 4.5 version instead of the previous version. eg.

Cannot install premiere elements 10 on my new macbook pro
cannot install premiere elements 10 on my new macbook pro. keep getting exit code 7 half way through installation and disc ejects. running OS X 10.7.2 (lion). have installed acrobat reader, flash player, tried safe start mode...nothing works...HELP!
Yes ..thats the log in Library/Logs/adobe/installers/
The log is called
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 10.0 12-01-2011.log.gz
it has more entries in that one log but they relate to earlier fails and are identical each time....
there is a photoshop log in there as well (I bought the bundle) but that installed succesfully.
It clearly falls over trying to install Sonicfire pro 5 for premiere elements but WHY is the question
I really dont know what else to suggest...curious that the original poster on this thread had the same error on install as me it seems on a macbook pro
I really would like this to be sorted obviously if possible as soon as possible given I paid for t and cant use it
any other thoughts?

Problem to install premiere elements 13
Hello, I have just completed the installation of photoshop elements 13 and want now to run the installation of premiere elements 13. Right after starting the exe.file I see the following window:
Translation: Header: Adobe-Installation Program
Text: The following problem occured: Installer couldn't be initialized. Download Adobe Support Advisor to identify the problem.
Unfortunately this download of the support advisor doesn't help.

How far do you get in the installation of the product? Do the problem start after you try to Sign In with your Adobe ID and Password?
Have we gone through the following list besides the uninstall/free cleaner run through/reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
2. Are you working with a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?.
3. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
4. Have you deleted the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole 13.0 Folder in which it exists?
5. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 13? Are you running the
program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? Have you explored renaming the SLCache Folder?

6. If all else fails, have you created a new User Account with Administrative Privileges and installed and tried to run Premiere

Is there a way to apply an EQ setting to all audio output? (i.e. everything that comes out of my PB speakers or phone jack, not just iTunes) Perhaps some sort of alt. audio device software (like soundflower.. but w/ different powers).

I can't sign out from apple id on iphone..it is in grey and i can't click on it
when i go to settings-->store-->my apple id is in solid grey and i can't click on it so i can sign out to resign in with a different id. thanks
