Installed Pro Kit 6.0.1... all Pro Apps down!

After applying the latest Pro Kit Update (6.0.1) none of my Pro Apps work anymore. I click them, they make a few bounces, then I get the spinning pinwheel. That's it.... I Go to "Force Quit"... and FCP says not responding in nice red letters.
I have tried the following:
1) Multiple Restarts
2) Uninstalling FCS completely and re-installing
3) Fixing permissions
4) Crying...
Nothing's worked so far. I have a project coming up next week... this is unreal... Any help is appreciated.

Judging from your other thread, it sounds like you are confusing the current Pro KIt update with very much older FCP updates that you need for you FCP 6 based workstation.
As I've noted in the other thread Pro App software updates are handled through Apple's Software Update app (same as for OS updates) ... if your apps are installed correctly and you have not renamed or moved them from their default install location then running Software Update should be enough to get them updated. Please note that many updates rely upon having also installed previous updates. For example, Pro App Update 2008-1 (FCP 6.03) would not appear until you had already installed Pro App Update 2007-1, and earlier Pro Kit and QuickTime updates too ... but don't worry, Software Update handles all this for you automatically, so you just need to run it, let it update whatever it finds needs updating, and then immediately run it again (yes really) and see if it finds any new updates that now need installing based on the just updated files. Keep repeating the process over and over again until it eventually reports that there are no further updates available. By that point your FCP install should be updated as far as it can go (6.0.4).

I swipe it away and start over, only to have the same thing happen again. I have reinstalled all the apps, rebooted, synced and re-synced with iTunes. This is VERY irritating!

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

Software Update wants to install Pro Apps Update 2008-05...

I've been running Final Cut Studio 3 on this machine for a long time. Suddenly Software update wants to install the Pro Applications Update 2008-05. The only thing I can think of that might have caused that is that I dragged over a copy of LiveType from an older PPC G5 that was still running FCS2. Not sure if I should allow it or not. If I allow it, will it be smart enough to see that I have more recent versions of all of the apps? Any suggestions?

My iPhone 5S needs 4.7 gb storage to install iOS 8. After deleting all removable apps and removing photos I only have 4.4 gb. Is there anything else that can be done to be able to install the update?

I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 7.1.2 with 5.0 gb total storage. Need 4.7 gb available storage to update to iOS 8.0.2. After removing all apps that I can and photos I only have 4.4 gb available storage. Have not yet added any music or videos. Is there any other way to reach 4.7gb or any other way to install the update?

You don't have to remove anything if you do the update via your pc with i-tunes.
Then you need only 1,1 GB.

Pro App Support 4.0.1 won't install

I've downloaded pro app support but when i try to install it I get a message like: "you cannot install pro app support on this volume. This volume is not eligible." I get the message whether i choose my system drive or any others. None of the drives are anywhere near full.

I tried many things like moving the proapp installer in my 'applications' folder, etc... it just doesn't work, i have no volume eligible for installing it...

Pro App Support

I just bought Logic Studio. I installed and it says I need the latest pro application support. No big deal, I just downloaded it off the Apple website. When I get to the screen that asks where you want to install it, I cannot see where I am supposed to install it. I click my hard drive (the only thing there) and it says "You cannot install Pro App Support on this volume, the software can only be installed on the start up disk". What does this mean?! There is no place to install it.
Can someone please help me?

I don't have Logic Studio but I have FCP Studio and I ran the Pro Application update through Apple's software update and it installed fine. Maybe you have to navigate to the Logic Studio Application folder for it to install? When it asks you to choose the location, double click on Macintosh HD, double click Applications, then click once on the Logic Studio folder.

Yes as long as your apps have been optimised for iOS 8 you can re install them from cloud in your purchases.
App Store>Updates>Purchased.

How to install Pro*C ?

I installed Oracle 9.2 on Solaris 9. However, I can't seem to find the option to install Pro*C.
I thought it would be in the Oracle9i Development Kit 9.2.0.1.0 section but it is not listed. All I see is Oracle C++, OCI, Oracle Programmer and Oracle XML.
Do I need another CD or something?

Just unzip all Instant Client zip files in the same directory, they all have "instantclient_11_2" as first path element,
so everything will end up in the right place in this directory.
If your Instant Client directory has a different name, unzip the package somewhere and move all files and
directories in it to your instant client directory.

Logic 7.1.0 Won't open after installing Pro Tools 6.9.2

i just installed Pro Tools 6.9.2 and now Logic won't open at all. i get an 'send error report" window. I'm using a G5 dual 2.0, OS10.4.2, 002r, Logic 7.1.0 and Pro Tools 6.9.2. Is the Pro tools version i'm using not compatible with Logic. i can't even get into logic to change settings.
I was warned about digi hardware but i went with it anyway. Please help. Thank you.

I have an HP Officejet 7210 all in one printer, have loaded Printer Pro to IPad, get successful test pages in the Print Pro App but can't print emails (or anything). error message is No AirPrinter found. How can I get connected?

If you're using the Printer Pro app, you're not going to use AirPrint services.
They are not the same thing.
Are you using the 'Open In' option to get the email into Printer Pro for printing?

Once installed, Printer Pro appears in the "Open In..." list on your device. This lets you print documents from Mail, Safari, ReaddleDocs and many other applications on your iPad that supports this function.
Using "Open In..." approach you can print files from many popular online storages: Dropbox, MobileMe iDisk, GoogleDocs. It just a matter of several taps to download your file via free Dropbox, iDisk or Google Docs application and send it to printer.

Motion 3, DVD Studio Pro 3...All Pro apps got corrupted by Aperture

Macbook Pro C2D, Leopard OS X 10.5.1. All apps were running perfectly before this happened...
First, all the apps of Final Cut Studio 2 crashed on startup.
I recall that the last thing I did is trashing the newly installed trail version Aperture.
After checking the crashing log, I found the problem comes from Prokit.framework. I did a thorough search, the answer is quite clear that the Prokit.framework comes with Aperture 1.5.2 is a PPC version, it replaced the intel version that was in my OS. So the solution is replacing the PPC version back to Prokit for Intel. Finally I found some provided download links of Prokit for Intel. BUT..
All the Prokit online are extracted with Pacifist from either Tiger OS disc or ProAppRuntime4.0.2.pkg(from apple's website). So they are either version 3.1 or version 4.0.2. After replacing my Prokit.framework with version 4.0.2, all my FCS 2 apps except Final Cut Pro (but Log and Transfer inside FCP 6) stopped crashing but failed to display any interface. But the icons are in the dock.
So finally I cleaned up all the files related to Final Cut Studio 2 and Prokit.framework and did a fresh reinstallation of FCS 2.
Same thing! No interface at all.
At this point, I doubt if the Prokit.framework in Leopard OS disc is different. It's too bad that I'm traveling for a project and my Leopard DVD is not in hand. So I asked a friend using Pacifist to extract Prokit.framework and Browser.framework from his Leopard DVD and sent them over. Now I found that they are indeed different. The one from Leopard is version 4.1. I did a replace again. Now, Motion 3, DVD Studio Pro 3 and Compressor start up, but with black windows and a few images, and the menu bars are really weird. I guess I should install this two framework with Pacifist instead of replacing them with the extracted folders?
The last resort I guess is to reinstall Leopard? My dilemma if I don't finish my project, I have no access to my OS DVD, but I need to use FCS 2 to finish the project.
Has anyone run into the same situation? Any enlightenment will be appreciated!

Why won't garageband open after installing pro tools?

I have recently installed pro tools 8.0 which worked at first and now will not at all. Also garageband will not open either, it opens when I change users but I cannot access my files this way.
I have read all the other threads on deleting various things from the LIBRARY> Audio>Plug ins folders but had no luck at all.
Someone else must have had this problem that can help, please!

What is your Mac OS X version? If you are using Mac OS X 10.7.x, you may have a problem with the Audio Drivers that may need updating, see: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=307155
Also, have you updated pro tools to the latest version?

Installing PowerPC Pro Apps on an Intel-based computer

I just installed the PowerPC version of Compressor 2 on a MacBook Pro and it works. I also installed Logic Pro 7 on the same and it works. How is this possible? I thought Pro Apps didn't run on the new platform? Or have I just killed my new machine?

I understand that and meant I haven't seen an increase in speed because I am still running PPC apps over Rosetta. It still seems odd to me that Pro Apps can run on Rosetta after all Apple said to the contrary. I'm still using Aperture 1.0.1 on my MacBook Pro and it behaves no differently (as far as I can see) than an Intel app like Final Cut Pro 5.1

All my Pro Apps works with Lion

So I installed Lion this weekend and I want to share with you the good news that none of my pro apps had any problem under the new OS.
here's a list of the pro apps I'm using:
FCP Studio 7
FCPX + Motion 5 and Compressor.
Adobe Suit CS5 & CS3 "ME version"
Lightroom
Quark Express
Office 2011
Everything works as it should... ah, and I really like the new features.

When I try to open the apps, it only atempts to load, only one jump in the Dock.I have tried cleaning old apps and any posible settings I know, reinstaling; verify and repair permissions and nothing.
I don't find a crash log for Final Cut, but I get a this for DVD studo Pro, Live Type, and Soundtrack. Expet or the apps name , they all show the same error.
