Installed Probook 4411s sound drivers - still no sound

Hi there,
I recently reformated my laptop and I installed the Probook 4411s Audio drivers pack (3 drivers) that is offered on HP website for Windows XP professional (of course all the rest of the drivers that are offered were installed as well).
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3942117&...
I admit my knowledge is a bit limited on the subject and I was hoping someone could tell me why there is still no sound on my computer?
If anyone can explain me how to solve this problem or even send a link to an additional driver - I would really appreciate it,
Thanks.

Go To Device Manager.
There Under Sound Tab , There are Two Options
One For ATI and Another For Sound Max

    HI there,
There are a couple things you can try. The first thing I would recommend is resetting all settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. If that doesn't work, take a look at the article below for additional troubleshooting steps.
Note: The article title impies that it is for iPhones, but the troubleshooting steps are still aplicable to iPads.

  • Installed drivers but still no sound

i have installed the sound drivers after i formatted my system...but still the system doesnt detect any sound device..i use windows xp...

Hi: Since you didn't provide the model # of the PC you are having problems with, it is difficult to determine why your sound isn't working. One reason may be that in addition to the specific hardware audio driver, you also need the Microsoft UAA Driver.

  • Drivers are all working but still no sound with windows 7

I have a very frustrating sound issue. My sound has worked completely fine up until yesterday. When I booted up my computer, I realized that no sound came out. I've gone through many forums to find the solution and I've checked all the simple stuff like making sure that my devices are enabled, audio service enabled, reinstalled/upadated the sound drivers etc... I've even gone into BIOS and loaded default settings and still no sound. I've gotten to the point where I have no idea what else I can do. Help please!

    Hello all,
I'm sorry that you are running into this issue of no sound. Do you get any sound through headphones?
Also I would suggest trying a hard reset as the next quickest and less invasive step. This can sometimes fix strange issues because it drains all of the electricity out of the unit. Here are the steps for a Hard Reset.
Hope this helps! Let me know the results if you get a chance

  • XP SP3 sound drivers wont install...

Well, since I had to re-install XP completely i had to re-install the drivers too. The sound drivers for SigmaTel WILL NOT WORK. It starts install then a message pops up saying that 'Another instance of the program is already running. Please close...' I forgot the rest. The point is that i somehow got the sound drivers to install and everything worked fine on my previous installation. I dont know what I did so does anybody have any ideas? I think I may have installed a Sony driver for the equivalent of the Apple one...

Your post(s) are very confusing and therefore you are not getting the responses that you seek.
I want to post this to ensure that you have done the following:
    1. Used Boot Camp Assistant to remove your previous installation completely and restored your HD to one single volume.
    2. Used Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows XPSP3 (Your version is SP3 I believe) again.
    3. Once installation was completed, you inserted the *Leopard Installation Disk* in your drive so that *Boot Camp drivers version 2.0" get installed automatically.
    4. Rebooted Computer (Your sound should work at this point but may not have)
    5. Used *Apple Software Update* to download and install *Boot Camp drivers version 2.1*
    6. Rebooted Computer (This will complete version 2.1 installation)
Have you done all of the above and in that order?

  • Can't find the proper drivers for my sound card

    Hello.
I have a Satellite R25-S3503 whose hard drive recently crashed. I bought a new hard drive, installed it, and am trying to find all of the drivers necessary to get it back up and running. The sound drivers listed on the support site do not appear to be the ones I need. I installed the Realtek HD driver and the Toshiba Virtual Sound and I have sound ; however, I cannot control my audio with the external switch and when I plug in my headphones, they are recognized, but sound still comes from my main speakers. I am not sure what else to try at this point and I cannot seem to find my restore CDs.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Two Soundblaster cards, still no sound. Please he

I was running a Sound Blaster Li've! -24bit card when I noticed my comuters Startup sounds were not playing... I subsequently checked several other audio formats through various programs.
I also checked all the usual "Whoops, I'm an idiot" solutions - Making sure nothing is muted, up-to-date drivers, hardware conflicts and can find nothing out of the usual. On a whim, I signed into a Ventrillo server to discover that the Microphone input was working fine, only the output was having an issue.
(I checked the output on 2 sets of headphones, each tested on another computer, and my speakers.)
Since there seemed to be no software issues or hardware conflicts (Creative Diagnostics tests came back perfect, but still no sound), I assumed that the output jack must died after the 3 years I've had it.
I replaced the card with a Sound Blaster Audigy... And the same problem persists. The Mic works, the sound does not. I also assumed it may be an issue with the PCI slot and tried installing the card on a different slot. Sadly, I'm still without sound.
I'm at a loss of what more I can do, and I'm praying that I don't have a motherboard issue. Can anyone help?

  • Upgraded Qosmio X500-10T to Win 8.1: Sound drivers for 5.1 over HDMI

    Hello *brilliant* Toshiba community,
I have recently upgraded my Qosmio X500-10T from 64-bit Windows 7 to 64-bit Windows 8.1.
I have left Windows to download driver updates.
My setup: Qosmio (HDMI) => Yamaha AV receiver (HDMI) => Samsun LCD TV.
_The Problem:_ Playing a video file (in MPC-HC) with 5.1 sound only outputs 2 channel PCM.
Would it be better to install the Win 7 drivers from Toshiba even though they are older and for a different OS, or install windows 8.1 drivers from another Qosmio, or leave the Win 8.1 drivers found by Microsoft?
This driver issue is made more problematic as I don't actually know what the technical hardware components are in the machine so its not as though I can find a win 8 driver for them.
As always any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Buzz

    Hi
From my knowledge the Win 7 drivers are totally different from Win 8.1 drivers and I doubt that Win 7 driver would work properly on Windows 8.1 system. However, you can test such Win 7 drivers too. But of course I would recommend you to use the Win 8.1 drivers released for other notebook series.
As Im not mistaken the Qosmio X500 needs 2 sound drivers: Conexant (chip CX20583-10Z) sound driver as well as the nVidia sound driver (for HDMI)

Does anyone have these drivers >>> Soundmax ADI1986A FOR WINDOWS XP X64
There is a X64 version working under Vista X64 Ultimate provided by the Lenovo site, but for XP X64 i found none.
I must say, with the UAA Driver for High Definition Audio 1986A X64 Windows 2003 installed, there is sound only in my headphones (so the jack is working) , but the speakers are off. I really do not understand how this comes.
Does anyone confronted with this issue ?  Does anyone has a working XPx64 ADI1986A sounddriver ?

I am in deep trouble finding those x64 drivers.
For the Bluetooth stack, it complains about being unable to find the Bluetooth device. It keeps on saying "Please plug in the Bluetooth device.". Nothing more...
For the sound card, Analog Devices does not provide drivers to individuals. Instead, they forward you to the OEM manufacturer web site, in our case the Toshiba downloads site, where you can find nothing.
I understand that Toshiba is not delivering those machines with 64 bit operating systems.

  • Need sound drivers for a Pavillion dv8309us running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit OS

Need sound drivers for a Pavillion dv8309us running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit OS. I'm getting "no audio output device is installed" error after trying various different drivers. Sometimes the driver will install and I'll reboot, but to no avail I end up with the same error and a red X over the speaker in the system tray. I've tried Realtek drivers and Conexant drivers from HP. When I run Windows upgrade advisor it recognizes the problem, but Microsoft doesn't offer a compatible driver. At this point I'm very desperate considering everything else works fine and I don't want to go back too XP Media Center. If there is anything you can do to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I guess this one isn't even 64 bit but it is the one on HP's site:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-46818-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
I never tried to force a driver but I think it can be done.  I seeing that in some threads.

.Here is the way how i did it:
Be sure that your Windows is fully updated and the language is ENGLISH cause 1st i tried in my own language it was Turkish and it said update is not supported in your language.
    * Fully Update your Windows 7 64 Bit
    * Right click on your DVD and click open
    * Go on drivers and open it
    * Open D:\Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple\x64
    * Install them 1 by 1 top to down.
Now we gonna do Sound and Wireless :
    1st Sound :
Go to Program and Features and delete Realtek Audio.
after uninstallation go back to DVD again and follow path Boot Camp\Drivers
Click on Cirrus then click on CirrusAudioVista64.
Now we gonna do Wireless :
In same directory on MAC OS X DVD( Boot Camp\Drivers )open BroadCom folder and click on BroadComNetworkAdapterWin7_64bit. After Installation now you have the Wireless working !

I hope that copying the contents while in Windows to a folder and navigating to specific drivers.... isn't a secret.
Some people will have to use Troubleshoot Compatibility (or change Properties on the installer).
OS X DVD( Boot Camp\Drivers )open BroadCom folder and click on BroadComNetworkAdapterWin7_64bit.
But not everyone even with that can get their Broadcom drivers working.
