Installed SC3.1. What to do next to run Oracle ?

This is my first time installing the Sun Cluster.
I did install the SC 3.1, everything seems ok. I can run the scstat and it show:

I intend to run the Oracle on this cluster.
What do I have to do next ? Please help me a list of what I have to do next. I still confuse about SC model.

Anyway YOu need
1. Oracle HA agents (Purchase from SUN if not already done)
2. HA Storage PLus ( optional) Read ducmentation on docs.sun.com to get conecpts right)
OK now that you have installed a version of Oracle on one server. You dont need to install another one.
As your datafiles are in /global/ora which is part of global file system you can set it up to be mounted on both servers together. Once that you have done you need to install oracle binaries ( binaries only) on second node and setup the files ini files oratab etc etc.
If you havent setup Oracle in HA yet dont worry. You can try to start the oracle intance on second node. But shutdown the instance on node 2.
Next setup Oracle in HA
Its too much to tell you what to do on this forum. You would be better to just read the docs.sun.com and figure out. However I have a document written up for my installation which I can send you if you need it. I will need to take the company name etc from there and send it to you.

Remember the document is catered to my install and for cluster 3.0 and not 3.1 so you will have to figure out what changed and I dont use Veritas Volume manager DMP instead my setup has EMC so i use emc powerpath. Otherwise the doucment is simple and straight forward.

Need help installing Windows. What to try next?

Setup
MacBook Pro (2009)
Internal SSD (optibay) instead of SuperDrive + regular HD (just data)
Currently booting Mac OS from external HD (cloned using CCC) so I have all the freedom I need to partition the SSD.
Goal
Having Windows 8 alongside Mac OS on the SSD
Methods tried so far
Boot Camp doesn't offer creating a USB drive ~> changed Info.plist in BootCamp.app to allow it ~> partitioned using Boot Camp ~> started Windows installation ~> Windows refuses to install to the bootcamp partition: MBR / GPT ... can only install to GPT on EFI systems.
Parallels VM installation on a physical volume worked fine. Afterwards I tried copying the MBR from the virtual machine to the MBR of the disk but it can't be booted, it hangs at a black screen and then a black screen with blinking cursor.
I also installed the tool refind to that disk but it also can't load it.
What next?
What should the disk be partitioned to begin with, MBR or GUID?
Is it correct that Macs boot Windows so that it appears like they're running a BIOS?
The method with the VM seems good, except that I can't create the partition table and boot record in a way so that everything works.
What should I do next?
Try again with Parallels. MBR / GUID, GPT??? How to get this hybrid GPT right? I saw further tools mentioned like gdisk but foremost I'd be grateful to understand what exactly the SSD's partition table and boot record should look like for a working setup.
Swap the HD and SSD and put back in the SuperDrive. Do you think everything would work flawlessly with Boot Camp then? Do I have to burn the plain Windows ISO or do I have to put the Boot Camp drivers onto the disc?

Adobe CC install failed. What to do next?

Trying to install Creative Cloud for the first time. Lightroom update worked but Photoshop CC and Extensions Manager CC did not. Got error message: "Update Failed - Errors encountered during installation (U44M1P7)." Tried the updates several times. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

This error maybe because the update fails when it can't locate the appropriate files to update.

Time machine needs its own partition to operate. So you are not going install a OSx Lion on that volume.
If there is enough room you may be able to partition the drive on the fly with DiskUtility
Are you saying you clean installed Lion and you are trying to move your user Data over with TM via the migration Assistant? Please explain.

Hi 10sMan,
It sounds like you may have a device filter causing you to see that issue. I recommend this article to help troubleshoot not being able to find the CD burner:

Is your data backed up? How much free hard disk space do you have? Do you have any other version of Mac OS X currently installed? Does your Mac have Firewire ports? And are you using the retail 10.4.6 disc or gray discs which came with another Mac?

Many people use a font manager to organize a large collection of fonts, and sometimes these cause problems in ID. You might not realize that the font manager has installed a plugin in ID, but I think you would know if you added any other program extensions to help you work.

Assuming that you tried to install Win 7 in bootcamp.
Power on the machine and press and hold the "option" key when you hear the bong sound.
Select the Macintosh HD icon and press "return" or just click on the icon.
Once booted into OS X go to System Preferences and select the Startup Disk icon and configure startup to use the Macintosh HD.

First Timer – Can't get Win Xp Pro to Load – Blue Screens - What to do next??

This is my first build, and I have the following hardware:

After putting it together, I observed the CPU temps in the BIOS for a while (my concerns, now gone, are documented in another thread), and never noticed any other problems. I partitioned the hard drive using Partition Commander, from the CD.
Last night was the first time I tried to load Windows Xp Pro (have used 98SE on my old PCs), and it did not go well. Although I had loaded the Partition Commander S/W a number of times via the CD ROM drive, the first time I tried to load Win Xp, it wouldn’t boot up from the CD ROM drive. I had to try it a few times before it started (even though the CD ROM was set to first priority for booting in BIOS). Once started, when it was in the middle of loading files (not far into the entire process), I started getting errors with wording something like “Couldn’t load file XYZ, hit enter to retry, or cancel...”. After hitting Enter a few dozen times, it made it through that part of the process, but then later, I started getting blue error screens reading “A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage ...” I rebooted and the installation resumed, but every time but one (I must have tried it six times) I ended up at a blue error screen before it finished. At the bottom of these screens, there was always a line that read (but not always the same numbers):
“*** STOP 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x804EAAB4, 0xEE7A8C80, 0x00000000)”. One time, there was also, after the first para on the screen the line “DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL”. Another time, it made it to the final (I think) “Saving Settings” part of the process, showing 5 mins left to go, and just hung.
Can someone help me figure out what these errors mean? I’m at a loss as to what to do next, and of course really want to get this thing up and running. I read another similar thread where people suggested the PSU was insufficient (he was using a 300W PSU), but I don’t think that is the issue here. I’m also sure I have the latest BIOS version (V1.4) for my motherboard, so that shouldn’t be an issue either.

This is a completely new install (new h/w and s/w) of Xp Pro w/SP2 incorporated (not an upgrade). Someone recommended removing one of the two memory sticks, and trying to load Xp afterwards, then reinstalling the 2nd stick after the install completes. I tried it tonight, after reformatting the partition, and the install went completely thru without a hitch the first time!!! I can't explain why it worked, but I guess there can be some kind of memory issue when you have two dual channel sticks during an Xp install. I have now reinstalled the 2nd stick, and so far, so good. Tomorrow I will run Memtest86 to see if that turns up any errors. By the way, how do you tell if it's truly operating as "Dual Channel"? Is there some way to tell?

HP 2605dn Color Laserjet firmware problem.... wny suggestions on what to try next?

I installed the firmware upgrade on my color laserjet model 2605dn to resolve the red background printing problem with pdf documents. The install utility appeared to install it and then I got the little smiley face that I understood meant that it went the way it was supposed to. However, now the printer no longer displays lights or anything on the lcd display when powered up. WHen first turned on, it goes through at least part of the start-up check and then seems to hand and stop. when I turn it back off with the switch on the back, there is an audible click from somewhere inside as it powers down.
sooo.... am I correct in thinking that the firmware may be corrupted and that without the ability to reset or reload from the console, combined with no communcation with computer or network, that it's doa? Or does someone hav a suggestion on how to address? I'm not very knowledgable about printers, but am no stranger to electronics, instruments, etc... in other words, I have no clue what to try next, but am comfortable trying about anything...

Photoshop does not transfer files nor import files. It can open files from any place that finder can access for files.
This is the normal process:
You need to log into https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/catalog/desktop.html Download Center
Select the app you would like to start with
The Creative Cloud manager will install first.
When done installing, the Creative cloud (adobe manager) should open in the middle of your screen.
If no apps automatically start installing then click on Apps
Scroll down to the app you want to install and click the install button
Once the manager says it is done, you can start your app like you normally do with any other app.

Open Application > Utilities > System Profiler and check the Quicktime version in Frameworks vs. the version in Applications. One person had re-installed their operating system. It had kept the newer Player application but had reverted to an earlier version of the underlying support framework files which many applications utilize. Re-installing Quicktime 7.7 took care of the problem. Do this manually, not with Software Update.
