Installed the latest iPhone update, iTunes asking to restore the iPhone
I bought the Nike sensor and iTunes asked to install the latest iPhone update, so I did. Computer crashed (blue screen appeared) - turned it back on, plugged the iPhone in and iTunes asking to restore the iPhone. It starts the restore process and than blue screen appears again. Now the iPhone doesn't work - tried to reset it. It says to connect to the iTunes, but every time I do this the computer crashes (blue screen). Help!!!
Agree with the above: Computer issue, the Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).
I'd take it to an Apple store with an appointment per

I purchased my daughter the new ipod. I downloaded the latest version of itunes. After syncing the ipod, all my songs appear grayed out. They have an exclamation point next to them. Even the ones I purchased from itunes. How do I get my songs back?
Usually, the exclamation mark tells you that the song was not where the program expected to find it. It may also mean that there was an error with the file itself.
If you click on the exclamation mark, it may give you a reason. You can also double click the file to make it play. If the file is not found, it will tell you. Just follow the prompts to look for the song again. It will ask you if you want to look for the other missing songs in the same folder. You can do it, but unfortunately, the last few updates have made the program blind to the songs that are there and you sometimes have to do the same process for each song.
If neither of these help, I would suggest starting from scratch and reinstalling iTunes. I have had to do that before. Do your best to back up the library and such first.
Sometimes a computer will rename a hard disk (Windows) and all the songs on that disk will be gone to iTunes because it will think it's looking in the right place. It can't recognize that the hard disk or partition has been renamed.
I know that this is a podcast, but the principle is the same. A dialogue box should pop up to tell you just what the problem is.
I hope this helps! -
iTunes says my iPod touch can't be used because I need the latest version of iTunes, but that's the one I have. What should I do?
Just what are you doing and and what is the exact wording of the message?

The latest version of iTunes does not have the option to locate duplicates. Older versions had an option in the drop down menus of iTunes to "display duplicates." Am I missing something?

Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates -
After OS X 10.5.7 update, iTunes asks to restore iPhone.
After installing 10.5.7, my iTunes asks me to restore iPhone, when I plug it in to my MacBook Pro.
Please Help.I've experienced exactly the same twice. After I did the update yesterday I was watching some tv and filling my iPhone with some music. I thought. I looked at iTunes and it wanted to restore my iPhone. I wasn't able to get back to the normal iPhone tab in iTunes so eventually I just restored.
Couple of hours later. Same thing happened again. Ever since I've been trying not to use iTunes in combination with my iPhone. And only connect when needed.
And to the other guys replying. Please be relevant.... -

I have updated itunes and after updating itunes I cannot access the istore through itunes. Additionally, my Iphone 4 will not back up. When I tunes is running my compter CPU usage is operating at 100% and I've never had this problem before. HELP!
Sounds like you should reinstall itunes, i'd follow one of these, whichever is most appropriate to get it done properly because on windows there is more than just itunes that needs taken off and reinstalled.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 for windows xp
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923 for windows vista/7
as long as you follow these it won't mess with your content as its saved in a different location. -
I have a brand new Ipod classic (Christmas 2012-13), a newish laptop (2012) and have just downloaded the latest version of iTunes. However, despite iTunes working fine on the laptop, the ipod being recognised by the laptop/iTunes, telling me it is synchronising, it actually won't synch. I have reset the ipod, tried different USB ports, restarted the laptop, and uninstalled / reinstalled iTunes, but still not working. Can anybody help ?
Well, I don't know if that's a software or hardware problem. You should take it to Apple Genius Bar or send it to service center. And one more thing, Its not synch...... Its Sync... Just saying... It would help if you send pictures of the problem. Such as the screen of iTunes saying it's syncing. It will help everyone and me...

How am i supposed to download the latest itunes version if i dont know the password because its not the same as my apple id password
The password being requested is, as for any Mac OS X software update or application installation, the password to your user account in Mac OS X, or the user name and password to an account in Mac OS X that has administrator privileges if your account does not.

Why is it whenever I download the latest version of itunes, it cant detect my iphone?
It's the second time, as I've not had my iphone for long, but the 2 times I've downloaded an update for itunes, it hasn't been able to detect my iphone, and this is after the checking of USB ports, turning my phone off and on again, and restarting the pc.
Does anybody know why this keeps happening and, if so, how I can avoid it in future?
Thanks in advance for any help received,
Jen.wow, found the solution to my own problem if anyone else is having the problem I described above, try restarting the Apple device service, I believe it has an abbreviation like AMDS or probably just AMS, but when you look under itunes not detecting my iphone 4, I found the link there.
Hope this is helpful to others
