Installed trial version - no internet connection any more

Hello,
thank you for reading.
I installed the trial version of InDesign CC2014 two days ago and at first it worked fine. I also installed Adobe Bridge CC as well as the new version of the Acrobar Reader and the Creative Cloud. But since yesterday I cannot access the internet any more, unless I use Windows 7's safe mode which I am doing right now.
I have rebooted my router, checked all my connections and ran the windows diagnosis tool. It says, that there is a problem with the IP. I also uninstalled the Cloud to see if this makes any difference, but it doesn't. I have no idea what else to do, it seems like the connection is blocked from the inside, so to speak. Again, before installing the Adobe software everything worked fine, so I think it has something to do with it.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Best
Markus

I won't say it's impossible that the Adobe software is involved, but only because I'm not one of the engineers. It also seems less likely since the problem occurred a day AFTER you installed the software, not immediately.
I suspect you picked up some malware. Do you have a good malware scanner (I use Malwarebytes)?
A couple of things you can try. First, run System Restore and go back to before you installed the trials (since you've already uninstalled them I don't think this is going to have a negative impact on their use -- you already killed them). The other thing I would do is restart normally, then run MSConfig and make a note of the name of any entry in the Startup section that you cannot identify as belonging to a legitimate program, then restart in Safe Mode again so you can google them.

  • Is the user for the trial version required Internet connection?

I installed trial version of Fireworks at my home with internet connection.  At that time I log in Adobe page and leave my profile.  Then I can open the soft, but I coud't when I try to use Fireworks without internet connection environment.  Am I suppose to always have the Internet connection for trial use?  Is there any difference if I purchased software?

To the best of my knowledge, an internet connection is not required in order to use a trial version of Fireworks—except for perhaps when installing the software or completing an initial account setup. It certainly isn't required for purchased software.

I used to share my internet connection, without my router, through the Sharing panel of System Preferences. After messing around with some of the settings, laptops are no longer able to connect. These are the currently configured settings:

    To Computers Using: Ethernet, Airport
    Should something else be enabled?

  • Can't Install Trial version

Get error 1335 cabinet file Data1.cab is corrupt when trying
to install trial version of Dreamweaver 8

    Your download is corrupt.
The three solutions that everyone gets are -
    1. Use a different browser to download
    2. Don't use a download accelerator
    3. Make sure your temporary internet files folder has enough
    extra capacity
    to contain the complete download
    Try those....

What are you trying to achieve?  Are you editing movies as a hobby? Or trying to build a business – and, if so, what kind?
iMovie is the first thing that comes to mind. Not the depth of FCPX, but it can still do some excellent work.

  • Looking for a verbose version of Internet Connect

In talking about a connection problem regarding dialup sign-on with my ISP tech support, he asked for the error number. When I said I used a Mac, he asked if someone with a PC could try. Obviously there must be messages transferred during the connection process that I do not see.
Is there a version of Internet Connect that will show me those messages?

It's been a while, but IIRC you can open System Preferences -> Network -> Dial-up modem -> PPP and click the Options button. There are options for verbose logging which will log all the connection data which you can review later.

Matt59 yes you can install Photoshop Elements 13 separately.  The evaluation process is software title specific.

The core iso should be all you need, just boot off that to start the installation. It's been a while since I did an install, but somewhere along the way it gives you an option to install off the cd or do a net install. You just need to choose the cd installation.
That being said, all you'll have without internet will be what's on the cd, so you'll be left with a pretty minimal install. If you want to update and install additional software then you'll either need to get the computer temporarily  connected, or download the packages on a different computer and transfer them.
I am looking to do something similar. I have the core system installed on an older laptop, but I cannot get the wireless working (it has no ethernet). I've tried downloading the libgl packagesfrom a mirror to a thumbdrive, but it's a dependency nightmare. Is there a better way to do this?

  • Is CS6 the last version able to install on a non-Internet-connected network?

I work on a govt network, which has no connection to the Internet, so we just purchased Photoshop CS6.  Of course, we're having all sorts of problems because the damn application requires an Internet connection before it will run.  We're working with Adobe to try to find a way around this, but it's extremely frustrating.  I'm guessing we'll eventually be able to get an installer that doesn't try to connect to the Internet.
My question is:  Assuming we can get PS CS6 functioning, is that the last version Adobe will build that will be installable on a non-Internet-connected network?  That seems a bit short-sighted and will eventually cause the govt to remove all Adobe products from use.  I can't imagine that's a scenario Adobe would be happy with, but maybe they don't care.
Thoughts?  Does anybody else use Adobe products on a network that has no way to connect to the Internet?  Have you found good workarounds for working with these annoying apps?

Thanks, John.  I knew that, but have no way of registering or activating after install.  I know that an installer can be built with the Serial Number built in that doesn't require an Internet connection, but I've never been able to get that to work.  It takes half a day just to get the transfer approved to move it to the correct network, and after doing this six times, I've run out of patience.  I'm not really sure what to do at this point.  After over six hours on the phone with Adobe support, I've come to a brick wall.  Adobe products are no longer viable on government networks.  I'm surprised they've given up this large pool of users...

  • Apple Mobile Device Support uninstall and itunes install causes loss of internet connection

Whenever I uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS)  I lose my internet connection. The only way to fix this is to restore Windows to a previous state. I've tried  troubleshooting my internet connection when this happens but Windows tells me something is wrong with both my wired and wireless connection drivers... and of course I need the internet to fix said drivers :s
I've tried repairing AMDS and this doesn't help either.
I've been trying to download itunes but it tells me a program needed to install it cannot be run. After this I can't get back on the internet without first restoring windows to a previous state. I thought that uninstalling everything apple from my system would do the trick but I can't seem to uninstall AMDS without messing up my internet drivers. What else can I try?

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
