Installed webcam nx and now no internet. HELP!

I just got my webcam nx and followed all the install instructions.
Installed the software and drivers, then plugged in the webcam and things seemed to work great. I then connected to the net (i have dial up) and tried to run msn messenger and it said no internet connection. But, my connection was working, as my windows auto-updates was loading. I opened a ie window and it said no interenet connection detected. I did a system restore and the interenet worked fine. I tried another install of the webcam software and same problem, no internet. Any ideas?

The problem seems to have been solved!
I did a couple of things, and don't know which one was the solution.
First, I ran Onyx (free download fm versiontracker) both cleaning, maintenance and automatic, with the standard options.
Then, I shut down and disconnected everything - computer, router and cable-modem.
Then, in this order, I plugged the computer in to router. Turned on router. Plugged the cable-modem into router. Turned on cable-modem. Plugged router into the computer and, finally, turned on the computer.
Lo' and behold - the net is back up!

Paldeng, thanks for the suggestion. I've done all that. I can connect to the server, but apparently they are not recognizing my ID and password. I can use the server program if I don't go through Mail (using the same ID and password). My mother in another state with another provider has had the same email issue, as also my husband on his laptop who uses the same internet connection I do. His worked fine until we had it repaired at the Apple store and all the original programs reloaded (with the required updates, I assume). We can receive email in Mail, we just cannot send.
I contacted my service provider, and we went over my connections. They said it was not their problem and connected me with Apple, resulting in a charge to me because my warranty is long expired. Apple swears it is not their problem, it is the provider, so here I sit. My son was able to fix my Mom's Mail (she's 97) and got my husband's working also, until mine went out, by tweaking connection descriptions and ports remotely. The thing is, we had not messed with any of those settings, so what changed? I just did not want to bother my son again, as he has many other demands on his time.
Since this fiasco with the Mail v4.6 update, I'm wondering if something else was updated that works well with Lion and Mountain Lion, but does not work well with Snow Leopard and Leopard. I think the problem I had with the Mail update was that my Mail program had been renamed to Mail (original), and therefore was not being recognized by the update. Perhaps they had another tweak in there somewhere that is affecting outgoing mail connections?

Try this:
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
See if you are able to connect now.

What happens if you open an application by ctrl-clicking on the icon then selecting Open?

Where is the phone number on the iPod?
If you have an iPhone with iOS and use the same ID for Messages and FaceTime as on the iPod the iPhone's phone number will be listed for Messages and FaceTime on the iPod.
If you changed phone numbers on the iPhone, sign out of Messages and FaceTime and then sing back in. Then do the same a little while later on the iPod.

Try this. Uninstall, download from http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html and install from the downloaded file using the serial number from your retail version.

Some people have reported reinstalling the Apple 2014-001 Java update has helped.

Installed 10.1 and now can't access itunes store

Just installed 10.1 and now getting a message that "Itunes can not connect to the Itunes Store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again". I am connected to the internet. Made no changed to network settings. Reinstalled Itunes 10.1. No dice. No pop up blockers on. No software firewall. Next steps?

Interesting side note. I had posted to this forum earlier on the issue above - essentially a "me too, i'm also having problems with iTunes upgrade" - a post like many others I see in the forum. But I also copied in a letter I had sent to iTunes support when they failed to offer any solutions to my problem, and urged users to send something similar to iTunes if they were having problems as well - essentially to get Apple to own up and take responsibility. All I want is Apple to say, yes we recognize there is a problem and we're working to fix it.
iTunes support told me they were not aware of any problems with 7.6. As I read through the 100's of other posts on this site about problems I saw many people who got a similar message from Apple.
Apple promptly deleted my earlier post, and sent me an email saying that I was discussing Apple Policy, and that's not allowed apparently.
I'm wondering then - is it Apple Policy to deny technical problems that are obviously impacting many users? And when that's highlighted there response is to censor them?
I wonder if this post will get censored. I'm probably on their watch list.
Appreciate anyone helping with my problem, or echoing if you've had the same.

I was having major problems too. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/. If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes. Hope this helps...

Well, what happens when you try to use it. That would help in the troubleshooting. Have you contacted your cellular carrier? Voicemail is a carrier function.

I've been having the same issue, but have just discovered something on my own that hasn't been pointed out in any of the forums I've visited. In what I thought would be a vain attempt to help myself, I went to System Preferences, Users & Groups, and then clicked on Login Items. I discovered that one of the Items that was listed to open automatically upon login was iTunes Helper and that there was an exclamation point beside it indicating that it was incompatible. I simply deleted that item and now I don't have the situation you described and my wireless is connected. Hope this helps!
