Installed windows 10 on my pavilion laptop and after startup the screen starts flashing
Laptop was working perfectly fine until I downloaded WINDOWS10. Now it will startup to the home screen, but as soon as I touch a button, it starts flashing on and off until I crash it off with the power button. Same thing happens every time! Is it the new os or do I have a driver problem or a screen problem? It does not flashnwhen I start it in diagnostic mode.

I doubt that the software was the issue. So why not tell us what model MBP you have and how much free space is on the hard drive. When was the last time you booted to the OS installer disk and run Repair Disk from Disk Utility? BTW, you may not need their software to download pictures to your Mac. Launch iPhoto and from the menu: iPhoto>Preferences>General: Connecting Camera Opens.....

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Installing i-tunes on a new laptop and my library has disappeared ... help!
... in installing i-tunes on my new laptop and taking all the the latest upgrades has resulted in my i-pod being wiped clean. I still have the music on an external drive (although I think I can kiss goodbye to the playlists).
I have copied the music files in their i-pod set up folders in to the right directory on the c:drive but the i-tunes software doesn't pick it up and still says the library is empty. I have also been to edit / preferences / advanced and tried changing the folder to recognise the external drive (which is how I had it set up on the old laptop as I ran out of hard disk capacity) but this hasn't worked either.
Can anyone out there help me find a way of getting I-tunes to recognise these files so I can see them in the library .. and then I assume I can re-synch the i-pod and get them back without having to reload 5000 songs. Even better is there anyway of recovering my original configuration and then I won't have to redo the playlists either

Dell Latitude D610 Windows XPWell, unfortunately, the external hard drive only stores the music files. The playlists will have been on the old machine, easily recoverable, or on the iPod, possibly recoverable.
As it is, you may just have to rebuild your library, foregoing your playlists, ratings, etc.
To do this, go to edit\prefs\advanced, and make sure the following settings are selected:
DO NOT copy to iTunes folder when adding to library
DO NOT keep iTunes folder organized
Now, go to the external, and drag the entire music folder into iTunes.
Then, go back to edit\prefs\advanced, and change the folder back to the external.

In the future, consider occasionally saving the two library files (.xml, .itl) from My Music\iTunes to the external.

recently I have install windows 7 in my old laptop since then the program Itunes have 2 libraries one at the top which I can put in new music and the other just below my I touch device botton. The problen is that now whenever I upload music is going straigh to the top library and from there I can't move it to my Itouch library. Before I never have problems cause I could only see one library and not 2 like now .....HELP !!!!!
I do not understand what you mean about two libraries. Can you post a screen shot?

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

Linking HP Pavilion laptop and HP data projector
The HP Pavilion laptop plays a DVD complete with sound. However. when the laptop is linked to a HP data projector via HDMI, the screen size is reduced, and sound does not work when playing the DVD.
Another HP Pavilion laptop does not have the same problem.

I have just purchased a new iMac OS Xlion version 10.7.3 and I'd like to install Windows. I have a disc for XP but the Boot Camp Assistant manual only refers to Windows 7. Please does anyone know if it will it work with XP.?
Get a Virtual Macine software program, Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox, and install XP in a virtual machine.
You can't install XP in a Boot Camp Partition with Lion or Mt Lion, only Win 7. -

What should i doTry to b boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down). If you can you can select Disk Utility to erase the hard drive and then reinstall Mavericks.

I installed the Developer beta with Bootcamp Assistant yesterday and was very impressed with the ease of the installation. Unfortunately, and I don't know if this is a problem with my video BIOS on my Macbook Air, but Windows 8 installs with two screens split horizontally - so it's effectively useless.
I tried 3 times and gave up. The same thing happens with Linux distributions, however with Linux I can pass "nomodeset" on the kernel command line which fixes it. I don't know how to do that in Windows.
This was happening with both 64x and 32-bit Win8 fwiw.
Oh, also...when I was trying to play around with Bootcamp.exe inside Windows 8, I remember a message popping up saying Bootcamp is only configurable with Windows 7 ISOs. But aside from the kernel graphics issues and some driver compatibility problems, Bootcamp loaded the Win8 ISOs fine. -

If you use Windows program to partition the Hard Drive, the Apple partition gets destroyed.
Windows does not understand it is a guest on your Mac, and throws garabge wherever it pleases. -

Message Edited by ykin on 01-24-2009 12:43 PMBoot Camp will only let you install onto an internal disk. This is largely because of Windows restrictions, not Mac OS restrictions. The beta thread has some supposed approaches to let you do this, using manual steps instead of using Boot Camp Assistant.

I have an academic version of Final Cut Studio on my laptop and recently purchased the most recent Full version of Final Cut Studio. Do I need to uninstall the academic version before installing the new version? I ask because this is not an upgrade, but a completely new version.
I'm with Jim on this. It always seems to work out better if you do not install over another version. You can use this app (freeware - thanks to Jon Chappel) to completely remove ALL Final Cut Studio apps and components: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/
Once that's done, install your newly purchased version.
