Installed Xcode but can't find /developer directory

I am a novice developer this might be a stupid question but I need help installing excode so I can eventually install dashcode. I'm using iMac 10.7.3 and installed xcode4.3.1 from app store. But I can't find any /developer directory. There is nothing in the 'application' folder that says "install xcode." How do I continue with the installation after downloading excode to my computer? (which I believe I did.)

I realize now. Dashcode is now a separate application. Problem solved. Thanks.

  • Installed Myspace but can't find it.....

I installed the Myspace app to my phone but can't find the icon anywhere. I know it uploaded because it's in my applications list but the icon isn't on my home screen. I tired rebooting by taking out the battery and such, but NOTHING! Can anyone help? Thanx in advance.

Ok, so I've been struggling with this issue for months. I was looking around today on here and didn't find much information. But, I took a couple of different things and tried them. I'm not sure WHICH helped, but here is what I did and MySpace just uploaded successfully on my Blackberry Curve.
I deleted the MySpace Application from the App List (Options (The wrench)-Advanced Options-MySpace-Menu Button-Delete)
    I restarted my phone
I changed the theme from the AT&T to the BB Dimension Zen (Options-Theme- BB Dimension Zen)
I logged onto my Browser and went to www.myspace.com
I clicked on the "Download MySpace for your Blackberry" or whatever it says
Before I clicked "Download", I checked the "Set Application Permissions" box.
    I clicked "Download"
It took me to the Application Permissions
I changed the first two from "Custom" to "Allow"
I hit the back arrow on my phone
    I chose "Save"
    It started downloading
When it was finished, MySpace was listed under my Applications and is WORKING!!! HALLELUJAH! I'm not sure WHICH of those seemingly MANY steps made it work, but it did!
Let me know if it does for you too!

  • Trying to install presets but can't find presets folder

I just upgraded to Lion AND purchased Lightroom 4. I'm trying to install a set of presets by going to lightroom preferences, presets and clicking on the "show lightroom presets folder" but when I click the button nothing happens at all. In fact, I can't click on any buttons in the preferences menu or click on the tabs at the top or anything. I tried to search for the folder on my computer but nothing came up either. I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong or if there's something wrong with the way lightroom is installed on my computer?
    Thanks

I dont think that you need to reinstall.  Apparently, Mountain Lion hides the Library folder.  It appears when you look at the main HDD, but when you click on users and then your main account it is hidden and this is where the presets are.  Here is a link to help reveal the library folder.
    http://mac.tutsplus.com/tutorials/productivity/how-to-reveal-your-library-folder-in-lion-o r-mountain-lion/
Once you have the library revealed you should be able to find the presets at this path USERS/%User%/Library/Appplication Support/Adobe/Lightroom
I thought I did something wrong as well.  I hope this is helps you out.

  • Installed Xcode but no Developer folder

I'm trying to access the Developer folder that's usually installed as part of the Developer Tools. I thought Apple had consolidated everything into the Xcode download on the Mac App Store, but even after installing Xcode there isn't any Developer folder in my root hard drive directory. How can I get these other Developer Tools?

Every thing you need is enclosed inside the Xcode folder (the one masquerading as an application). To get to the tools, you need to run Xcode and install all available documentation and downloads via the preferences window. Read the info at the Mac App Store.

  • X code got downloaded from app store but can't find Xcode.app on my mac

X code got downloaded from app store but can't find Xcode.app on my mac

    Check your Applicaitons folder.
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2  <  your profile
Xcode's minimum requirements according to the App Store under Information is OS X v10.7.3 or later.
If you are running v10.7.2, click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
That should bring your Mac up to date to v10.7.4.
    Then try re downloading Xcode.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

  • I want to run apple Hardware Test but can't find it on any CD's.  I bought my iMac in 2009.  I think it had 10.4 installed.  It's not on my installation disk.  Where can I find it?

I want to run Apple Hardware Text but can't find it on any CD's.  I bought my iMac in 2009.  It came with 10.4.  Apple Hardware Test is not on the installation disk.  Should I have it?  Where can I find it?  I"m now running 10.7.4.

    The disc plainly state:
To  use the AHT, hold down the D key as the computer starts up.
Works here. However, there was an issue with installing Lion that screwed this process up.
Mount disc 2, run this command in the Terminal app, OPTION-click & hold Finder's Dock icon, and select RELAUNCH:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 1
    That unhides all hidden files/folders.
Now, drill down to /"Applications Install\ Disc"/System/Library/CoreServices/ and drag the .diagnostics folder into your Lion boot volume's /System/Library/CoreServices/ folder. That might require you to authenticate to copy the folder into the CoreServices subfolder.
Run this command to hide the normally hidden files/folders and RELAUNCH the Finder again.
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 0
This should allow the machine to boot into AHT when restarting and holding down the D key.
If that doesn't do the trick, run this command in the Terminal app:
    sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/CoreServices/.diagnostics
At the Password: prompt, carefully type in your admin password, since nothing shows up on the screen, and hit the return key. Then, try another restart, holding down the D key.

  • How can I create a start up disk for a old intel core duo running 10.5.8.. Computer works fine, but can't find install disk.

How can I create a start up disk for a old intel core duo running 10.5.8.. Computer works fine, but can't find install disk. Want to use internal disk drive or USD flash drive.

Try calling 1-800-676-2775.  Give the serial number and thy *may* still burn you new install disks designed just for the hrdware in your system (for a fee, something like $160 per disk).  *May* is only because they may not burn disks for Leopard anymore.
If they do not burn them for you, you can buy Leopard disks off Amazon or eBay for about $200.
Have you considered Snow Leopard?.  Those disks only cost $19 (single user) or $29 (5-user license) through Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.

I have windows 7 64 bit but the new itunes will not install because it can't find itunes64.msi.  I have searched evertwhere on my pc. In addition, I can't uninstall the itunes and reinstall for the same reason. I can't upgrade for my icloud account.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:

  • Lightroom installed but can't find it

    Hi,
I just subscribed to lightroom + photoshop CC plan. I then installed photoshop and lightroom on OsX Maverick from the creative cloud application but can't find the Lightroom app...
I tried to re-install it from the lightroom disk image but it keeps asking me for a password...
How can I start the right (CC) lightroom ? Do I have to download a serial number from a torrent file as so many people do without any issue ?
    Thanks.

I have no experience with the CC applications. But it seems that sometimes the "regular" Lightroom installer fails to create a shortcut for starting the program. Checking your applications folder and see if you can find the Lightroom program. You might have to create your own desktop icon. I'm saying this because I understand from what You wrote that you have already installed Lightroom. Is that correct?

When updating itunes I get the message the install package can't find a file (itunes.msi) I've searched but can't find this file.  How do I install it?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Hello,
the way is written there Activation & deactivation help >>> (see there only to understand the procedure) Common activation problems >>> "Activation limit reached for [product]. This serial number has already been activated on 2 computers." "Maximum activations exceeded."
    >>> How to deactivate or sign out >>> A single license for Adobe software lets you install the applications on two computers—for example, at home and at the office. However, you can use the software on only one computer at any given time.
If you want to install the software on a third computer, deactivate the software on the computer on which you will no longer use the software. Then, activate the software on the new computer.
