Installer failed to initialise (CS6 & CC) - Mac

I tried to install both Master collection CS6 and CC and when I open the installer, I am greeted with this error
http://prntscr.com/55dhdt
I am running a 2014 MacBook Air (fully specced out) with Yosemite (10.10.1)
I have also ran the cleaner tool already
Any additional questions feel free to ask
Thanks in advance

Bit_Planet I would recommend reviewing the PDApp.log for the error which is preventing the installer from initializing.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

  • Photoshop CS6 Installer failed to initialise?

I have just bought a student copy of Photoshop CS6 Extended, and whenever I try to install it I get the message - ' Installer failed to initialise'.
I am running OSX Mountain Lion, on a 2012 Macbook Air. I have tried installing on a new user, as well as using the Adobe Support Advisor (No Problems detected) - I have also tried using the 'Creative Suite Cleaner Tool' to remove any old things. It still doesn't work. I don't have any other Adobe Programs currently installed.
I couldn't find any helpful advice in the other forum posts so I made my own.

I have the same issue.  Also running mountain lion.
    this is the PDApp.log
i have tried changing permissions as seen from another post but nothing seems to be working.

I recently purchased an upgrade to Photoshop CS6. (Dec 9 2014).  I have today downloaded the file (Photoshop_13_LS16.7z
    This downloaded OK
When I tried to run the file (Winzip) I got the following message
"Installer failed to initialise. Could be due to a missing file.  Please download Abobe support adviser."
I tried to do that and it told me Adobe support adviser no longer exists.
Could you please advise a solution.

Extract it to a different location inside a dedicated folder and make sure to not destroy the file and folder hierarchy inside the archive. also run the install with sufficient user privielges and security stuff turned off.

  • Installer failed to initialise help from Trevor Dennis..gladly

trying to install photoshop cs5, inserting disc I receive error message
"installer failed to initialise"   what's happening.
    operating Mac 10.9 maverick.

Hi Charlie.  There are a lot of people a lot more capable than me among the regular posters here.  Case in point, I have been struggling to sort out my own problems with what appears to be a pair of wrecked 600Gb Velociraptors in my Projects drive (raid0).  I also know very little about the Mac OS.
Ashutosh mentions the Adobe Application Manager, but as far as I know, that is not relevant if installing CS5 from a disk.  I would still be very inclined to download a new installation file for CS5 as OSx 10.9 has been throwing up a few problems on this forum, and you need to give yourself the best chance of success.
You can find the files here
    http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
Thinking back to when I installed CS5, I can remember getting a bit confused with the installer program, which is probably what Ashutosh is referring to.   Save yourself grief, and read these instructions before you start.  I know instructions are the last resort, and reading them challenges your rep as a 'bloke'...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/start-installer-downloading.html
There is a list of issues concering 10.9 here, but only the last directly concerns CS5 (AFAICT)

Good luck, and you can wish me the same sorting out my dead raid0  - Thank goodness for real time back ups!

  • I purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 13, but the installer fails to initialise. How do I get it to work?

I have Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10 installed on my PC. Both were installed from discs that I bought a few years ago. I recently purchased the upgrade (by download) for both applications to version 13. In accordance with the (scant) instructions received by email, I downloaded the four files required from the Adobe site. I subsequently ran the .exe files, which in turn created directories on my PC, including set-up.exe files for both applications. When I run the setup files, I get an error message stating that the installer failed to initialise. The error message advised me to download the Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. That tool does not exist. I then sought assistance from the Abobe support site, initially using the hyperlink suggestions, which were of no use, then using the chat function. The operator kept trying to get me to do something with something called 'Creative Cloud'; which I am not familiar with, and do not use. He then instructed me to download and run a CS5 cleaner tool; however, none of the choices offered by that tool include my issue, or either Photoshop Elements or Premier Elements. I am reluctant to uninstall version 10 of the programs in case I end up losing the lot and therefore wasting even more money than the purchase price for this upgrade.
All I want to do is upgrade my two applications from version 10 to version 13. I have paid the requisite fee but it clearly does not work. I appear to have totally wasted my money. Can anyone please tell me how to get it to work? I do not want to have anything to do with the so-called ‘Creative Cloud’ as I have no idea what it is, and I do not want to lose what I already have (and have paid for previously).
I have tried for a few days to access the so-called 24/7 chat assistance but appeared to have been locked out as every time I try to access it, I get a message that the (24/7) chat is closed. Adobe has taken my money for a product that does not work, and also refuse to help me fix it.
I am very frustrated with a product I bought that does not work, and a 24/7 support service that clearly is not 24/7, and which refuses to assist me. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to get this to work? Rod.

    Hi,
Can you please share the logs?
You can use the Adobe  Log Collector tool (Log Collector Tool) and share the corresponding zip file @ [email protected]
    Thanks,

  • Purchased a new iMac - installed CS5 CD - message - Installer failed to initialise....

Purchased a new iMac - installed CS5 CD - message - Installer failed to initialise....

You need to copy all the installer disc to the desktop, Folder by folder. for example, Copy the contents of Payloads folder on Disc 2 to payloads folder of Disc 1, Extension to extensions, etc
Then you will see the setup.app file on the Folder that you created on the desktop.
    Run that and check.

  • Installer fails to initialise

Installer fails to initialise and I have followed the Adobe support advisor suggestions. What could I do now?

Were you able to successfully complete the download process?  If the installer is failing to initialize then you will want to review the PDApp.log.  You can find more details regarding how to review this log in Troubleshoot CS5 and CS5.5 installation with install logs.

  • Cannot install captivate 8 on Mac - Installer failed to initialise

I can only find a Flash CS3 Installer. When I try to use that, I get an error message that reads:
    JavaScript Alert
Critical errors were found in setup
    - The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media.
Please see the Setup log file for details.
    Hi Ted,
It seems that you might have upgraded your OS from Tiger(10.4)/Leopard(10.5) to Snow Leopard(10.6) and in the process the Adobe installer database file got corrupted somehow. I would need you to uninstall Flash CS3, run the CS3 and CS4 clean up script to remove any remaining entries of Fl CS3 or PSE 8 then delete the below two files by moving them into trash and emptying the trash and then install Flash CS3 again followed by PSE8. Now, you shall be able to run both the products fine. All the othr CS3 apps mentioned in your above thread will get installed along with Fl CS3.
Here is the location where you will be able to locate the .db files:
    <Macintosh HD>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\backup\
    <Macintosh HD>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\caps\
Here are the reference links for CS3 and CS4 clean up scripts:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406241.html
Let me know in case you have any queries before executing the above mentioned steps.
