Downloaded Adobe Assistant & it's stuck for 2nd time.  Have uninstalled 1st attempt? Any ideas?

    You put both the .7z and the .exe in the same folder. Run the .exe (double-click it) and it will automatically unzip the file and start the setup program for you.

    Hello! I was going to take classes about photoshop over here, but the computers have a slow internet since they're more than a 100 conected to just one server and it's  a disaster xD so they can't install photoshop cc through creative cloud in each computer, it's going to take an eternity. They're thinking of giving up so since I want to learn about photoshop I came here to see if there's a way to download the installer so I can pass the program  though USB to each computer then after all it's done, start buying the product. I searched but the only way i found was through creative cloud... so, is there a link that I missed?

    Hello community.
    I purchased my first Apple product on Sunday, a Mac mini 6,1.  It came preinstalled with OS X 10.8.3 and included no installation media (which makes sense as the mini has no optical drive).
    As I've paid for an OS X 10.8 license already, included in the cost of the mini, am I entitled to download the Mountain Lion installer for free, or will I have to pay for it again?  I would like to create a USB install stick and understand that I need the OS X installer package for this.

    The license for that copy of Mountain Lion only extends to that Mac. You cannot use it on any other Mac you own, unlike if you purchase Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store.
    If you ever need to reinstall your OS, you use Recovery: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
    According to a few tutorials on the web, it is possible to get a copy to download by starting a reinstall from Recovery, and then interrupting it after the download and before it starts installing.

    You use your original install media. If you have PSE 11 you can download the trial and enter your serial number into that. For recent older versions, if you bought a download from adobe, if you go to the main page of adobe.com and click on My Adobe, you may still have a download link there. If your laptop came with PSE pre-installed, check your recovery partition to see if there's an installer there.

    This is definately not true.  Many users, including myself, use ATI cards without any problems.  As with any video card the correct driver is the key for proper operation.

    Because their online activation servers had to be shut down, Adobe released a version of Photoshop CS2 that avoids online activation for existing license holders so that they can continue to use the software they purchased a license for.
    A lot of web sites reported that this was tantamount to it suddenly being "given away for free".
    It's not.
    Using it without a license is tantamount to walking out with merchandise from a store just because it's not in a locked cabinet and you can pick it up with your hands.

    As gener7 has pointed out there is no "free Photoshop CS2", it has been made available for people who hold legitimate licenses for versions affected by the activation server having been taken offline and a lot of people seem to have misunderstood that.
    While it may be tempting to ignore the distinction it may be worth considering that Photoshop is still the product of other persons’ efforts (no matter how the profits are being distributed between the corporation Adobe and the individual developers etc.) – supposing you do produce images yourself (as a photographer, designer, illustrator, …) how would you feel about people assuming because you publish them online they are theirs to use for free?
    Maybe you should consider using the free image editing application Gimp if your economical circumstances should not allow for purchasing a Photoshop license currently.

    The free download for CS2 products is for licensed users to replace their previous versions that required activation and can no longer be installed becasue the activation servers are shut down. Anyone else who uses the installers is commiting a crime.

    iCloud backs up your iOS device (not your Mac) automatically. You can remove the backup:

    and it will not back up again. This will not affect a backup made using iTunes. The notice you see refers to calendars, contacts, iWork documents and so on, which live on the server and are read from there by your Mac, and so will obviously disappear if you turn iCloud off altogether (which you don't need to do) or turn off Documents (which you don't need to do either).

    and activate with your serial number.
    if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies. 
    the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com). 
    failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

    There is no free version of CS2.  There is only a special version of CS2 available for people who purchased it and need to reinstall it.

    Theoretically you can use the itunes version to qualify for adobe's upgrade discount, but that's it. All download versions are single platform. And in many countries the street price of the full version of PSE is less than adobe's upgrade price, so it's usually not worth pursuing that. However, if you wish to, I'm told you use your apple ID as your serial number when asked. I don't know anyone who's done this, so I don't know how well it really works.
