Installer not Compatible

Aside from the fact that my E2 will not power up using the power button (I have to press the reset button on the back to power up), when I do power it up I get a message:  "Not Compatible: This installer is not compatible with your device.  Please contact the manufacturer for a compatible installer."  I click OK, and then get a follow-on message: "Complete: You may now delete the installer".  I click OK and then into the system ... For two or three minutes, when the E2 powers itself off.
Any thoughts on what I should do to correct this issue?  Help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Palm Forums,
Normally I would recommend a hard reset on your device. For the software error your getting. But you also have a power button issue and in order to do a hard reset you would need to use the power button. At this point you would need to have your device either repaired or replaced. You can call in to 813-313-4913.
If you have more questions please post back.

Hi winston45, SkyScape offers some marvelous medical software, but the installation instructions are very specific.
Some files go to your SD card, and others to the main RAM in the device.  SkyScape includes installation guides and manuals in all of the downloads I've ever used.  Be sure to follow the instructions to the letter.
There is help offered on their website too for installation issues.

  • Labview installation - not compatible directory

I have problem with installing LabVIEW 2014 64bit on my Windows 8.1 Proffesional 64 bit machine.
    Story:
I downloaded LabVIEW 2014 and installed it only to find out its 32bit version. I wandted 64bit version so when i found it i downloaded it. Then i used windows control panel and add and remove features to uninstall LabView 2014 32bit (when i clicked LabView in add/remove features a window opened where i could select, fix/remove and something else, i picked remove and then selected all parts of LabView). After that i was asked to reboot my computer. I did it.
Then i wanted to install LabVIEW 2014 64bit in same directory where i had previous version installed (which is now completley empty). But when i chose it during instalation it tells me:
"An incompatible product is already installed in that directory, please select other directory"
How is there supposed to be anything installed there if i removed everything? The folder is empty.
I understand something like that happend IF I would remove files manually but NO. I used OFFICIAL uninstaller, i didnt do anything on my own. Yet it "remembers" old installation and wont let me install other version.

Under Windows 64 bit 64 bit applications get installed into C:/Program Files/<Company>/etc but 32 bit applications get installed into  C:/Program Files (x86)/<Company>/etc.
Windows will prevent you to install a 64 bit application into C:/Program Files (x86) so that is probably where your problem comes from.
As to the other problem the most easy solution might be to install some virtualization software like VirtualBox and install Windows in there and then LabVIEW. That gives you a system where you can run LabVIEW until your current system is fixed.

    Is it correct?
When Firefox 6.0.2 will become compatible with Moonlight plugin (or vice-versa)?

  • Trying to update to 6.0.5 but it won't let me unless I use appstore and appstore only has later updates not compatible with my OS. Help?

I recently recorded something on my friends laptop using his Garageband. But then I was trying to transfer it to my computer and it says I need to update to 6.0.5 to be able to open the file. However when I try and update it it gives me this message "The version of GarageBand installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available." So I went to App Store to update it but the only garageband related thing I could find there was the 10.0.2 update which was too big an update and wouldn't run with my OS anyway. How do I get the 6.0.5 update? Whould I delete Garageband and reinstall using the 6.0.5? Also my OS is 10.7.5 if that helps.

Whould I delete Garageband and reinstall using the 6.0.5? Also my OS is 10.7.5 if that helps.
That will not work. The GarageBand 6.0.5 updater from the Apple Support page is not a full installer. You will need an installer disk for GarageBand '11, for example the boxed iLife '11 disk to install a GarageBand '11 version, that can be updated with that 6.0.5 updater.
So I went to App Store to update it but the only garageband related thing I could find there was the 10.0.2 update
The AppStore should not be showing you the 10.0.2 udpdate, if your system is not compatible. Or have you upgraded to MacOS 10.9.2?

  • Old Bookmarks are not compatible with Firefox version 20+

    Background Information:
I use the old client version 3.6 as there's an old utility addon that the author stopped updating and will not work with the newer revisions. Despite disabling the update feature both in about:config and in preferences, the browser still eventually updates (Originally I was using 3.4, and would prefer to use that, but no matter how much I try I can no longer roll it back from 3.6 to 3.4 even if I reinstall using a 3.4 installer). As a result I've had a habit of keeping a copy of my firefox directory in case it updates itself again without asking, which it has. This might help you guys out in answering the countless people who have lost their bookmarks due to the upgrades released this year, and will hopefully someone to investigate and release a patch/utility to fix the issue.
    Issue:
I have verified that the newest clients from at least version 20 and onwards, are not compatible with the older bookmark JSON files. People who have been upgraded to the latest revision not only lose their bookmarks, but CANNOT restore them either, as Firefox will only return the error message: "Unable to Process the Backup File".
I have confirmed that the files themselves are perfectly intact with no sign of corruption, and are as intended. They restore ok to older browser revisions (In my case specifically 3.6), but will not restore to the newer client revisions. This is not a fault with the bookmark backups, but with the newer clients (I'm guessing they changed the way they store the information in the JSONs at some point. I note in the code for the JSONs that GUID was never used in the older revisions, but it is in the newer revisions. Perhaps this is causing an incompatibility issue? You just need to adjust the client so that it looks for the GUID and if none can be found to ignore it rather than decide the file is corrupt.
    Old JSON Code snippet: {"title":"","id":1,"dateAdded":1306666129870000,"lastModified":1306670152435000,"type":"text/x-moz-place-container","root":"placesRoot","children":[{"title":"Bookmarks Menu","id":2,"parent":1,"dateAdded":1306666129870000,"lastModified":1381254048121000,"type":"text/x-moz-place-container","root":"bookmarksMenuFolder","children":[{"title":"Recently Bookmarked","id":6,"parent":2,"annos":[{"name":"Places/SmartBookmark","flags":0,"expires":4,"mimeType":null,"type":3,"value":"RecentlyBookmarked"}],"type":"text/x-moz-place","uri":"place:folder=BOOKMARKS_MENU&folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS&folder=TOOLBAR&sort=12&excludeQueries=1&excludeItemIfParentHasAnnotation=livemark%2FfeedURI&maxResults=10&queryType=1"},{"index":1,"title":"Recent Tags","id":7,"parent":2,"annos":[{"name":"Places/SmartBookmark","flags":0,"expires":4,"mimeType":null,"type":3,"value":"RecentTags"}],"type":"text/x-moz-place","uri":"place:sort=14&type=6&maxResults=10&queryType=1"},{"index":2,"title":"","id":8,"parent":2,"dateAdded":1294868015246000,"lastModified":1294868015246000,"type":"text/x-moz-place-separator"}

    Solution?
Well in my case I had a backup copy of the old revision directory. To restore I opened the copy, and exported the bookmarks as an HTML, which I restored in the newer client. If you do not have a copy of the old client, the best thing would be to try and reinstall an older revision of the client and either make a copy of the program folder and use another copy of that so you can use both the new and old clients and not worry about the loss of an older revision since you'll always have 2 copies of the old client (One you're using, one you use to restore if it upgrades). Or you export the bookmarks as an HTML, then upgrade the client to the newest and import the HTML instead of the JSON files.
Please investigate and create an easier solution to a silly incompatibility issue. ^_^

This happens if you create a backup and forget to add the file extension manually when Firefox didn't add it automatically or you may have removed it when modifying the suggested name.

  • Conversion from VS2003 to VS2005 Crystal Report View is not compatible

I am trying to migrate an application from VS2003 to VS2005.  I am trying to run it locally, using the localhost method.  I am getting a parser error: The base class includes the field u2018CrystalReportViewer1u2019 but itu2019s type (CrystalDecisionsWeb.CrystalReportViewer) is not compatible with the type of control (CrystalDecisions.Web.CrystalReportViewer)
I have a tried a number of solutions, including removing and then readding Crystal Report references (picking the 10.2.3600 ones).
I also created a websetup project, trying either the windows installer and the merge modules.  Those both gave me the error "The setup requires Internet Information Server 4.0 or higher and Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or higher.  This setup cannot be installe don Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME.  Please install Internet Information Server and run this setup again." so I guess I don't understand how localhost works, but I know it's not a true web server.
    I also followed a post to delete the assembly information that was in my web.config, which was      <add assembly="CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.ReportSource, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.Shared, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/>
and expected it to be readded when I re-added my references and rebuilt but there is now just an empty <assemblies></assemblies> tag.
Note that I have VS2003, VS2005 and VS2008 all installed on my computer as we have application in various stages of conversions.  I think I just downloaded SP1 for Crystal Reports for VS2005 but it doesn't specify when I do Help-About in VS so maybe I didn't.
I have spent so many countless hours and only just found this forum buried under the rather confusing SAP website.
Thank you SO much for any help,
    Penny

removing all of the references and adding the 10.2 references is a good start.  the problem is most likely that you still have a 9.1.5000 reference to CrystalDecisions.Web in the HTML source of your web form with a viewer control on it.  Easiest way to upgrade that is to delete the viewer control and drag a new one on from the toolbox.  the drag and drop of the viewer control is what will populate your "add assembly" tags.
