Installer rejects my serial number

I have a full version of Acrobat 9, that is the disk and the serial number from the My products and services page.  To capture the ID, I am doing copy/paste from Adobe, to remove my fat fingers from the equation.  The installer tells me I have an invalid serial number. What's next?

You need to contact Adobe Chat Support to get your serial number checked.

  • Acrobat 8 standard installation program rejects my serial number, says it's "invalid"

I have a genuine product of Acrobat 8 Standard, and when I put the serial number in the installation program, I get rejected. The program says my s.n. is invalid.
    How do I solve this?

Was your AA8 an upgrade? If so, the S/N requested may have been for the prior version, not 8. You have to provide both the old and new S/Ns for an upgrade. For Win7 you will need to do the updates. For Win8, you may have to purchase the new version.

  • Acrobat 8 - switch hw and os from win xp to win 8.1 - installation says 'invalid serial number' - although I am very sure, it is :o)

    Hi folks,
I am switching from my former pc (win XP) to a new one (Win 8.1).
As I wanted to move my acrobat 8 installation to the new computer, I did the following right now:
    - I deactivated the license (from within acrobat 8) on the old computer
    - I uninstalled acrobat 8 on the old computer and restarted it
    - I downloaded acrobat 8 from the adobe website on the new computer
    - I startet the installation, which asks for the serial number
    - I logged in to my acrobat-account and found my serialnumber there
    - I checked this serial number with my paper-copies and invoice (bought ion 2007): it's allright
    - I typed in the serialnumber / I copied it in from the account / I copied it from the email I recieved in 2007 / I checked it twice and more:
The installation-tool says 'invalid serial number' - although I am very sure, it's the right one.
    I cant go further.
What is going wrong or am I doing wrong?
    thanx for your help

    Hi crunchycrisp,
First of all i wont suggest you to install Acrobat 8 on windows 8. This version of application has never been tested on Windows 8.
You may upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat.

  • Installer tells me serial number not valid photoshop elements 13

i'm trying to install photoshop elements 13 multiple languages mac that i downloaded tonight online. i purchased photoshop elements 13 and premiere elements 13 as a package a few days ago on line but it appears that what I purchased was for windows and not for mac. I have a serial number for each (photoshop elements 13 and premiere elements 13). The installer is not accepting the serial number as valid for some reason. I'm guessing that the problem was caused by the fact that what I bought was english windows and what i downloaded as mac -- which is what i need. help me please!

    Hi there
Where did you get the number from?  Do you have a serial number, redemption code or product code?
Please try the following doc to see if this helps: Find your serial number quickly
    Thanks

  • Reinstalling Acrobat.  Installation claims the serial number is not valid.

Here is my serial number details
    Here's what the screen says
<Image removed by Moderator for revealing serial number>
While the product screen says its version 10 and the setup screen says v11, it ran as 11 on the startup screen on my old computer before it died.
    What am I doing wrong?

    The installer is incorrect.
Try to install the Acrobat 10 pro from adobe.com or http://helpx.adobe.com/download-install.html
    Hope it helps.

  • CS4 failed to load properly; now seems to reject my serial number

I recently upgraded my computer, and deactivated CS4 Design Premium.  Then tried rerinstalling to the new PC, but receive error messages along lines of "missing components".
Today went to remove and reinstal from desktop to fix this, but the program now shows as having no serial number, so can't release in order to reinstall afterward
Can I simply remove and try again??  I doubt this will work and think I've somehow developed a corrupt instal - any tips please?

  • Can't install cd 2- rejects my serial number

can someone please help me, I am already kind of computer clueless and I thought installing this would be easy.
I installed the first cd no problem, set up my account, and it accepted the serial number (I purchased it from Walmart just today) but when I tried (over 10 times) to install cd #2, when I type in the same serial number (which it says it requires) it says not valid. I did not opt to install the trial version, don't know if that has anything to do with it,
but for something so simple, this is frustrating. All I want to use is use and learn the program!
Also, what is cd #3 for?
    thanks
    desperate on sunday

Disc two contains the trial of Premiere Elements 10.  Are you trying to install the 30 days trial of Premiere Elements 10?  If not then there is no need to install disc two.  Disc three is the Mac OS install disc you can find more details at Install Premiere Elements, Photoshop Elements - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/install-premiere-elements-photoshop-elements. html.

  • Installation iWork 06 - Serial Number isn't Valid

    Hi
I originally bought my mac in 06, but it was a Monday Morning Mac and after numerous failures, Apple exchanged it for a new in '08. I have just tried to install my old iWork 06 - I had previously uninstalled it from the duff mac and was assured that I'd be able to run it on the new one - and the serial number comes up as invalid.
    Ideas?
The serial number is the one on my original packaging.
    Thanks, in advance.

After the trial expires the iWork applications become "viewers" allowing you to still see any documents. You would not be able to edit, print, etc. There is no absolute need to delete iWork '08, but OS X would always try to open documents with the newer version. So, unless you absolutely need that Numbers document, I would delete iWork '08. Just drag the iWork '08 folder from Applications to the Trash.
If you do have iWork '06 installed, you should be able to just launch one of the apps & enter your serial number. It it doesn't give you that option, go to HD > Library > Preferences & delete the com.apple.iWork.plist, empty the Trash & then start one of the applications again. You should get the splash page with to option to enter your serial number.

  • InDesign installation problem - requests serial number

I just subscribed for Creative Cloud in order to get Photoshop and InDesign in particular. Photoshop works, but I cannot get InDesign to function. When I try to start the application, it says my trial period has expired (which is the case - long time ago I had the trial on my computer) and requests for serial number. Even if the application should obviously be included in my Creative Cloud subscription, I cannot get past this. Could you please advice? Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Hi Little_Indiana,
You might try uninstalling and reinstalling
    For Uninstall
Control Panel > Programs & Features (Windows 7)
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP)
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers (Mac OS X)
and then reinstall using Adobe Application Manager from the Start Menu (Win) or Applications folder (Mac)

  • Indesign suddenly asking for serial number and rejecting the one I have

    Hi,
This question is very similar to that of act_writ from 19/10/2014 ("Sudden trouble opening InDesign - serial number rejected")
    - I am asking again because that question was not answered.
We have InDesign CS6 on a Mac, purchased last year with a student license. It always worked and opened the program without asking for a login. All of a sudden yesterday it asked for a login and the serial number, but it rejects the serial number I have received when purchasing the product.
I am still a student so it should not have expired.
Any help would be appreciated - I am pretty desperate as the customer support agent I contacted could not help me.
    Thanks!

A serial should be ok if it was ok.
Exceptions are: If the serial was used several times in a way which is causing doubts of its legal use, then will Adobe deactivate it (e.g. use of several serial in connection with illegal copies) or when Adobe shuts down the activation server as it was done with CS2, but the user could replace it with a common serial.
Normal, with a running program it will never ask for a serial, only if the user clean up his computer and delete some folder and files where activation files are hidden. But in that case the serial should be inserted with the next start or in the wort scenario you might uninstall all programs and install them again to be able to enter the serial.
For non English (including UK and US and International) versions users the serial can also fail when the localisation files are deleted.
Maybe that you exchange the serial with some other number or a number from another product which was bundled?

  • Lost CS3 serial number and installation disc

I am re-installing Adobe CS3 Master Suite to a new PC. The original installation on the old PC was done by someone who have left the company and also the installation CDs and serial number are not able to be located.
I have since manage to download the CS3 software from Adobe website, but I forsee I'll be stuck when they prompt me for the serial number. I don't have the Adobe ID the former employee used to sign in to the Adobe website or make the purchases. Can you please advice?
Also, at which stage do I deactivate the CS3 from the old PC and activate the CS3 on the new PC?  Can I first activate the CS3 on the new PC first while ensuring that the old PC is powered off and not being accessed in order to ensure that the CS3 is working fine before I deactivate the CS3 on the old PC.

A single user license allows for activated installations on two machines.  So you can leave the original installation working while you figure out what you can do to turn the former employee's software into yours.  I do not see a solution myself if the former employee purchased the software and used their own Adobe ID for it.  The company should have managed that aspect if the plan was to retain ownership of it.  You might have to contact the former employee to get the software license properly transferred.

  • Valid Serial number called invalid during installation.

After a fresh load on my computer, I uninstalled and was reinstalling my boxed Pre. Elements 8, when I got a message that the SN was invalid during the installation. The serial number entered is printed on the box, and was previously working.  I would like to get my program working again. I appreciate any help. The chat people sent me to the forum, and visa versa.

Adobe is the only one who can make those vital adjustments on their Servers. But, let us see what we can do to workaround this situation.
First let us see how far we get with the Windows XP 32 bit computer and Premiere Elements 8.
    a. Do you see any evidence that Premiere Elements 8 is installed on your Windows XP 32 bit computer?
    b. If not, then run the computer through the ccleaner program (the regular and registry parts) to get rid of any leftovers from incomplete uninstalls or reinstalls.
    https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
    c. Then try to install the program with the anti-virus and firewalls Off and the Internet connection On and in good working order.
    d. Do you get the same Invalid Serial number message during the installation?
If you go to Adobe (http://www.adobe.com) and click on Welcome pargal22x13/My Products, can you find your Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 serial number there and confirm that it is the same one that is giving you the Invalid Serial number message?
Next, go on to Windows 7 64 bit and try for the Premiere Elements 8.0 install there. Do run into the same Invalid Serial Number for the Premiere Elements 8 install also?
Please let us know of your progress.
    Thank you.

  • Acrobat 7 Serial Number Rejected

    Hello,
We have a copy of Acrobat Professional 7, that up until recently have had no issues with. We recently tried re-installing it on a machine, only to find that the Activation Servers are offline. We were directed to download an "activation-free" version of the product.
After downloading this version and attempting to install it, we found it is rejecting our serial number(s) and are subsequently unable to install it.
Some background information on the products history:
    1. Bought Adobe Acrobat 5.0 - retail
    2. Bought Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard (upgrade) - retail
    3. Bought Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional (upgrade) -  via your online store.
All of the serial numbers from all of the above products were rejected. We have the original packaging and serial numbers to hand if you should require them, along with a receipt for Acrobat 7 Professional from your online store (also containing the serial number).
We would appreciate any help you could give us on the matter to get this installed. Thank-you for your time,
    James Compton.

You are absolutely correct! Thank-you. I double-checked the download page and there is indeed a serial number that I must have missed when I originally looked there.
    Thank-you!

  • In Design CS2 won't accept serial number during "Personalization" In Design

Re: InDesignCS2 rejects the serial number provided for CS2 special "no-activation" versions.
I am having an identical set of issues as outlined in the above discussion but I am using Windows 7.
My hard disk died and I am simply trying to get back up to speed with the new one. I have Creative Suite 2 Premium.  Following the special instructions for moving certain files so that I wouldn't have the Insert Disk 2 problems I managed to get PhotoShop actuvated and running. However, I am unable to "personalize" InDesign because the system does not like the serial number.  I have tried the one that came on the original box and the one that was on the link I used to download the programs. Both with and without the hyphens.
I have also been unable to uninstall InDesign and start over as the wizard was interrupted just as it was described above.
I have followed the instructions on the link you provided to manually remove CS2:  Manually remove Adobe Creative Suite 2.x | Windows  Including attempting to uninstall Creative Suite.  However, Adobe InDesign CS2, Adobe Illustrator CS2, and Adobe SVG Viewer 3 still appear in the list of programs and for some reason cannot be uninstalled using the control panel.
In looking at the files that are still on the computer I see a folder C:\Creative Suite CS2. It has folders in it for PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Version Cue plus some other stuff. I was able to delete each of the files individually. but when I attempt to delete Illustrator, I get an error message saying  that it can't be deleted  because a folder or file is open in another application. When I attempt to uninstall that one using the control panel I get a message saying the remover was interrupted before it could finish.
I haven't even gotten to the part of the instructions where you remove things from the registry!
Any thoughts on where to go from here?
    Thanks,
    E.

  • My MyDaq is not accepting the serial number it came with

I had to format my computer and am trying to reinstall the software. I have the CD and the MyDaq unit but not the Box. This installation process is rejecting the serial number on the unit. My unit has a ###A##A format serial number where A is a letter and # is a number. I know it should have an A#####... format. I called National Instruments and they told me to post on a forum, and here we are.

Just to avoid confusion, I think gaving meant the serial number. Typically they are in the format M##X#### (may be an extra or a lesser number in there). I assume you are trying to activate LabVIEW Student Edition? This White Paper may be helpful: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14146/en/.
