Installer Searches HD Nonstop

I have a PowerPC Mac running OS 10.4.11. I have Safari 3.1.1
and Firefox 2.0.0.13. I have been trying to install the latest
Flash Player update and, although it worked on three other machines
I support with the same configuration above, on one Mac, the
installer seems to hang indefinitely at the "Searching HD" step
when it says it has 4 items left to install. I've let it run for
hours and it never finishes. I tried repairing permissions,
uninstalling Flash Player (I deleted the files manually - when I
tried to run Adobe's uninstaller, it also hung and showed as not
responding in the "Force Quit" app.). I trashed and re-downloaded
the installer, even tried downloading it on another machine and
copying it over to the one in question. Nothing helps. I'm unable
to complete the installation, and now I don't have any flash player
on this machine since I trashed the previous version. Any
ideas?

  • More FlexMotion installer BUGS!!!!

    I found out some more information about the bugs in the FlexMotion Installer. It seems if I log into an account with admin privilages, then everything runs ok. If I log into another account (without admin privilages), like say THE PRODUCTION ACCOUNT, then for everything you do the FLEX-MOTION install program pops up!
    Just trying to run Internet Explorer makes the installer come up. And if you "cancel" it, it just pops right back up!
    Talk about a good way for NI to really piss off its customers!
    IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIX THIS BUG! Even just tell me where the damn installer program is, and I'll erase the thing!

    The reason why the installer will pop-up with IE or VB application is because for some reason your previous installation or operation of the driver broke some file. MAX controls Motion and it is built over IE and VB, so whenever you call this applications it searches registries and founds that there is something wrong with a file in Motion, it will try to go and repair it itself, but since it does not finds the install files it pops up the installer (and the installer searches the registry which as a user you don't have access to), I believe this is the reason also for your message "can't connect to network share...", probably your motion driver was installed from that directory and you don't have access to it as a user. Your best option is to download the files t
    o install the driver to your computer, then log as an administrator, install flexmotion (reinstall), and leave the files there. Log as a user and you should be able to use the motion hardware with no problem. In case you do, then your system may be having other issues that we need to troubleshoot more deeply, we have lots of customers using NT, 2000 and XP with users operating motion without any trouble so we may be facing a more complicated issue.

    Thanks for the reply. I tried whatever you have said. After executing the command "G:\usr\sap\trex_02\TREXDaemon.exe -f G:\usr\sap\trex_02\TREXDaemon.ini", instead of MSVCP60.DLL missing, I got
    "An instance of this service is already running.
    You should consider checking if the process with the id 2548 is running and of type TREXDaemon. If you are sure that there is no instance alive remove the file G:\usr\sap\trex_02\lock\[email protected] and restart." and also I have the MSVCP60.DLL file under C:\WINDOWS\system32. My EP is on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.
    I removed [email protected] and restarted. I am still getting the same error "Index could not be created; creating index failed: HTTP server error: 502 (Errorcode 7266)". I am still not able to create an index. While TREX installation i have a first_test_index created succesfully. But No index Server is Displayed in TREX Monitor. While performing Serach I get No Search Index could be found.

  • Windows Installer for FlexMotion keeps comming up!

    When I log into my machine as a different user, every time I try and run IE or a VB app, Windows Installer keeps trying to install Flex-Motion again!
    This is a production machine and NOT acceptable!
    How can I get rid of this d*mn thing? I tried installing Flex-Motion again, but now it just gives me "Can connect to network share WinNT\". ARGH!
    How can I fix this without designing out the NI hardware from my system (which I would LOVE to do, for all the crap it's caused me!)

  • 10.1 MSI installer

    Hello,
    I'm having problems installing 10.1.53.64 using MSI package.
    A GPO installation exits with 1603 error and lunching the msi for manula installation searches for 10.0.42.34, and because I don't have that package it fails to install.
    The packake is updating 10.0.45.2 which installed with no problems.

    Lets make this clear.
    I'm distributing the package through AD GPO. The new package should update the old 10.0.45.2 package but the installation fails and in system log i have errors marked with 1603 number.. No additional data is available.
    When i try to manually lunch the msi (bu executing it) after it prompts for privileged access it asks me to locate a network resource for 10.0.42.34 package. I assume it wants to uninstall it - because if i try to cancel the request it tells me that the installation failed because it can not uninstall the previous version. I don't remember if i had such version installed on any computer, and i no longer have this package version.
    This entry is genereated in event log when manualy lunchind the msi installer

    but there is no adobe flash listed in the programs of windows, and i even lunched the flush uninstaller but with no luck.
    At this point i think that the installer detects an older failed or corrupted installation and tries to remove it, but fails because it has no installer for that.
    As for the log i don't know where to look for those and searching the computer did not get any results.
    As for open browsers. The package lunched by the AD is run pre logon so there should be no browser open. And of caurse i do close my broswer when lunching the manual installation.

    Every time I try to open a new tab a search engine called 'Ghribi' pops up. How can I remove it so that blank page can appear. I am also trying to move my tabs but I don't get the option to do be able to do it. How can I fix these problems?

    i'm configuring the package for full text search post-installation. as part of standard installation search was configured just for metadata.

    Navigate to <domain_home>/ucm/cs/search and open activeindex.hda file .
    There will be 2 places where databasesearch.1 would be seen , replace both with ots1 (or ots2) and save the changes .
    Restart ucm server and run collection rebuild.

  • Removing Trex from EP installation

    Hi,
      I want to remove Trex from an existing installation of EP5 SP6.
    a) How do I do this (what configuration changes should I make)?
    b) What remaining problems will the users see (for example if it leaves the "search" box in the header the users will obviously have a problem if they try and use it)?

    Hi Stuart,
    although EP5 is "long ago" and I am more aware of EP6 these days, you should procede roughly like this:
    a)
    - First, you should delete all indices and taxonomies through the Index Administration UI.
    - Second, you should delete the TREX Server address from the files config.properties and/or configlocal.properties in your EP-KM installation (search for them on the file system of the server!)
    - Third, you can uninstall TREX for which you should be able to use the OS's (Windows?) Add/Remove functionality
    - Fourth, if a TREX directory remains on the server, delete that.
    b)
    - Do not use any KM iViews that contain search fields
    - And, sorry, I do not know exactly where, configure your portal header to NOT contain the quick search field any longer. If you cannot find that, please post that part of the question again in the EP forum.

  • Deploying CC Enterprise Applications With SCCM 2012

    Hi all,
    We are using CC Packager to package up individual applications (Photoshop, InDesign etc) and are having trouble deploying the applications once packaged. To deploy, we are using SCCM 2012 and are deploying to Windows 7 x64 clients. It appears that the install begins on the client, then hangs, never to finish.
    We are running the MSI with the REBOOT=ReallySuppress and MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL=Disable commands, but with no luck.
    This has us really stumped. The applications seem to package fine, yet just won't install. If we manually run the installer, we can see it begin installing, then the progress bar goes backwards and the installation ends without displaying any sort of message.

    Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Any ideas?

    Deploying with SCCM 2012
    I have called Adobe before and was told that the application package needs to be on a local drive on the computer. The package cannot be installed if the package is sitting on the network. My installation for a adobe creative cloud  package fails to install when I try to install the application from the software center. At some moment the installation searches to ensure it is on a local disk. Not sure how this happends. If you place the installation package on a drive on your computer the package will install, although it will take time depending on how many applications you have packaged.
    Another problem that you might have is having users log out of the applications without admin previlages.
    I have yet to find a solution for these two problems, I could really use some help from someone who has sucessfully deployed a creative cloud package to a user.

  • Error 1907 after automatic update

    I am using Office 2010 Home and Student Edition on Windows 7 Home Premium.  After a recent automatic update, I now have problems.  When I start Office, I get the "installing updates, please wait" splash screen.  When the green progress
    bar is almost complete, I get the "Error 1907.  Could not register font" error message.  If I chose "Ignore" or "Retry", I am stuck in a loop.  The only option is to "Abort".  Then I get a message
    that the changes are being rolled back.  I can now use Word with no problems until the Microsoft mothership releases another update for Office.  Then I go through this nonsense again.
    Probably you have already replied to this post about the known fix for this known problem.  If you have bothered to read this far, I can tell you that I have tried the
    SFC /SCANNOW
    fix, and it does not work
    for my problem.  The scan completed and reported no problems.  I did not have a problem when installing Office, and I am not running Vista or Server 2008, which seem to be the circumstances the SFC fix addresses.
    For now I have turned off Microsoft Updates (leaving Windows Updates active), but this is not a real fix.

    I paste his reply here:
    Error 1907 occurs when a program is uninstalled and/or another program installed (usually Office 2000, 2010 or 2013) that does not install the ".TTF" files (font files with the .ttf extension). 
    The required font files need to be replaced to the "C\Windows\Font" directory (folder) on your hard drive .
    The "sfc /scannow" command does not always remedy this. If not, follow the procedure below.
    1. Create a temporary folder, [C:\temp] 
    2. *Search file OWOW64WW.cab, ProPsWW.cab and ProPsWW2.cab in your Microsoft Office installation source (Office 2010), since this is what causes this error *most of the time. 
    *or search for: "owow32ww.cab, proprww.cab and proprww2.cab" in the "proplusr.ww" installation directory of Microsoft Office 2000. 
    * (Office 2000 installation: search in the "drive\Windows\Fonts" directory.)
    3. Copy all the ".ttf" files there to the "temp" folder you created. 
    Find and copy all the font files to your temporary folder. (Extract them all using Winrar or 7-zip, if they are in a cabinet ".cab" file. 
    4. "Paste" all the font files in to: 'C:\Windows\Font' folder of your hard drive. (overwrite all). 
    5. Re-start your program (Office, etc.) and the installation will complete with no further "Error 1907" warnings.
    If above not work, try to copy the font from another Windows 7 Home Premium computer, and paste it to the C:\Windows\Fonts folder to check the result.
    Note: please make sure you have backed up the folder before you conduct the copy/paste step.

    My uncle has Win 7, Ultimate, 64 bit (updated to latest windows updates)
    installed via bootcamp on iMac
    Have HP 1536dnf MFP printer installed via USB. No other HP product is installed.
    I had issues which I managed to solve.
    Problems:
    Earlier the 'properties' window flashed and closed immediately. I could not solve the problem even after trying solutions offered in earlier posts. After few install, my installer would fail as it stalled at 99 %. Even if I killed installer via task manager, still I could not find any solution. HP toolbox FX could not be installed.
    As usual, I removed all HP driver enteries from
    services tab,
    device manager and
    somewhere in 'printers and devices' (afte rclicking / selecting any printer, on top bar, ther is an option to select driver).
    I also removed HP folder form 'Programs x86' (my system is 64 bit). In programs folder, I found nothing.
    I also checked for universal printer is uninstalled and
    print sprooler is working and is set on automatic.
    I had also upgraded firmware to latest 2014 version.
    Windows update of 1536dnf always failed.
    I run latest al-in-one installer from HP (210 mb)
    All-in-one installer ...
    With installer windows installer also installs software. I clicked on taskbar icon to see details. It searches for latest drivers of scan, print, etc on net and then installs it.
    After 26-29 % HP installer, searches for 1536 printer driver (it can be seen on windows installer screen). When the installer reaches 29 %, it says
    Installation failed. Messege is something like
    Installation of HP Laserjet 1536dnf failed.
    I kept the installer running. After it reaches 99 %, it hangs. After few minutes, it shows fatal error. I ended installer via talk manager, still software is not installer.
    HP diagnostic tool identifies printer, but says, software is not installed and points downloads page, which is not of HP 1536dnf MFP.
    There is one solution, which I have not tried. One post said to create a new user.
    Half Solution:
    Then I tried basic setup of print and scan driver PCL 6 without first installing software (which is latest available on HP website 2011 version) and ... it worked. Now I can print and he properties tab would open.
    Also note that this is a 'universal Printer driver'--> all were suggesting that universal printer and print spooler causes problems
    Still it's working fine, but without the software I cannot scan. I do not use photoshop.
    Question:
    My question is
    The 210 mb installer will again install drivers. What will happen as in this case, I have already installed drivers and are working fine, but as mentioned, I cannot scan. HP scanning software gives good options.
    Is there version available where only software is installed and no driver is installed.
    Since 210 mb all-in-one installer always hangs at 99 % (downloaded 2 times and installed 7-8 times), should I try basic installer.
    What will happen to preinstalled drivers?
    The problem is that installed driver is a universal printer PCL 6
    I will again visit my uncle on saturday.

    There are no HLP files in the Windows 8.1 Update. There are many in Windows.old Windows 8.0. System32.
    Alerted to this bug during hardware installation. New audio card Asus Xonar STX help file is in *.hlp format. Like all 8.0 help files, Asus HLP will not open. Windows 8.1 fresh install will not open any HLP file and opens window linking me to this

    NEW with this install we added Windows Media Center.
     This is a Windows problem.
    Where is WinHlp32.exe for Windows 8.1 64-bit?
    This needs to be fixed!

  • EHP4 upgrade query

    Dear All,
    We are planning to upgrade our PRD server. We are upgrading from  ECC 6.0 to EHP4 in dual stack (ABAP+JAVA).
    We are running cluster in Active Passive mode.
    DB + ASCS + APP server on node 1 and node 2 is for fail-over switch and one DI instance on node 2.
    We will disable clustering before the downtime phase.
    I am having the below queries.
    1.We are running ERS03 for abap and ERS 04 for java on node2.
    As per SAP Note 1012486 we should disable ERS before downtime phase.
    Please advice we have to only stop the instance ERS03 and ERS04 .As in cluster it is not configured.
    If we are running startsap command on node 2 it is starting ERS03 ,ERS04 and DI instance.
    Please advice how we can disable it

    If you have manually set up a standalone enqueue, you should
    revert this configuration prior to the execution of the
    downtime phases of the upgrade, latest prior to kernel switch
    phase. The upgrade tool is unable to detect a manual set up of
    standalone enqueue servers and, therefore, cannot update them.
    This might cause problems when the system is started for the
    first time after the kernel switch. This only applies to
    standalone enqueue servers (separately started enserver
    process), NOT to officially supported (A)SCS instances.
    2.As we are running ABAP+JAVA stack.
    As i checked in SDN.. somone suggested the below method to overcome profile issue's.
    Please help to understand this.
    If you have a SAP level clustering you will face issues while patching your JAVA instance as in profile directory JSPM/EHPi scans for the available profiles and the patches accordingly however when two profiles are found it runs itno conflicts and does not allow you to proceed further - To solve this problem as a workaround you need to move the other/mirror/clustered systems profiles into other directory asay /usr and once your EHPi installation is over move back other/mirror/clustered systems profiles into cdpro directory.
    3.ASCS will be required to be stopped manually.Will SAP prompt to stop or i need to do it before downtime phase.

    I hope I've understand your questions right...
    1)
    I think you're right - to stop ERS03 + ERS04 but here you should contact the sap support - to make sure that this is not a big mistake.
    2)
    You should ensure, that only one profil should be available for the installer - so the installer searches for profiles and your mirror/clusterd systems have several [ more than one ] profiles.
    So you should "move the other/mirror/clustered systems profiles into other directory asay /usr "  - you have to move your profiles in a temporary directory [ tmp\ ] - so the installer didn't recognise them.
    After your EhP installation you have to move the profiles back to the source directory.
    3)
    The installer will prompt you - but downtime means that your colleagues are not able to work ...
    =>sure at all its a good think to make a reboot of the whole server - so you will see that there is everthing fine - profiles, executables etc.
    By the way - if it is your first EhP installation you should have one test-system - only for ehp.

        - Evaluation & Approval of Proposal by the Manager
    I have these 2 doubts :-
        - I need to send a notification to the manager on creation of a proposal. How do i go about it???
        - Also i need to send a notification to the user regarding the approval or rejection of the proposal.
    Should i create a Callable Object in GP and add that in the Action Create Proposal???
    please guide me regarding the same.

    Usually it takes a while till the Adobe designer loads, but if the window remains blank... hmmm than I guess it should be some error in Adobe Document Services configuration...
    So I guess you know this, but just in case here are installations you need to use for Adobe Document Services and composite forms in Web Dynpro Applications:
    ·        A local installation of Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1.
    You can download Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1 from SAP Service Marketplace at: service.sap.com/installations - Search for Installations and Upgrades (from the left-hand side navigation) and then for material number 50083078_1. To install the Adobe LiveCycle Designer, use the file SapAldSetup.exe from the downloaded archive 50083078_1.ZIP.
    ·        A local installation of Adobe Reader 7.0 or higher or a full version of Adobe Acrobat 7.0.
    You can download Adobe Reader for free from the Adobe web site.
    Depending on your requirements, you may also need to configure specific composite form properties.
    Apart from that, if you have a ready composite form created previously, you can upload it by checking the Field-Based Template checkbox in the beginning of the wizard for creating composite form.Thus, the wizard does not make you create a new one from scratch, but rather upload your own.

  • Acrobat 9 and X folders stay in registry and program files.

    Hi,
    I could see two folders of Acrobat 9 and 10 are present in my program files folder and also in registry. Our installer searches path and copy .api file in the folder.
    Now, it would be bit confusing for the installer to pick up the active installed version (either 9 or 10).
    Can anyone please let me know how to recognize the active version?
