I get to the installer, and it goes smoothly until the "installing connectivity cable driver" at 61% and it won't go anymore =[

I am getting the same message when I try to install the latest version of iTunes, I am running on Windows Vista Home Premium. Stuck in installation mode - PLEASE HELP!!!

I Was downloading OSX Yosemite on my MacBook Pro and now it's stuck in the installation mode. It lets me select a language and move through the terms and agreements, but when I get to the screen that says "select the disk on which to install" it says there is not enough free space on Macintosh HD to install. How to I quit the installation and go back being able to use my laptop??
Also, when I click "quit OS X installer" at the top left of the screen, no start up disks show up to select for rebooting my computer

Hi i appologize from now if i posted this in the wrong place but i have looked around and cant find anything to help me out i have a 15inch macbook pro with no operating system at all. It had 10.5.7 version of operating system x but my sisters friend who is computer illeterate thought he could install 10.6 but he was wrong he ended up deleting the operating system which leaves my sister without her laptop ive tried installing 10.6 but it tells me that it cannot install then quits but every forum i go to tells me that it should work with this laptop

The installation disk I´m tryin with is from an 15-inch Macbook Pro I`ve recently bought. The system is snow leopard and I´m trying to install it in my macbook 13 Mac Os X 10.5.5 (originallay leopard) I don´t know if that´s a problem. I´m not using an update dvd. I think the problem is going by the post Mac fix it.
I read that anyone who has a macbook intel could install snow leopard so I decided to try but it´s too hard. Thanks for trying to helping us.

Installed the OS X Yosemite my computer froze up daily, trying to reinstall then I got really stucked, please help

My computer kept freeze up daily with OS X Yosemite installed a while ago, and I followed the other instruction to do "OS X" Recovery to: (1) erased my start up disk (2) Reinstalling Mac OS X Yosemite.
While about 18 or 20 minutes remaining from the installation, it went back to 2 hours 57 minutes but stuck there. I let my computer run over night but it was still at 2 hours 57 minutes. so I cancelled the installation which seemed to be the only choice.
I tried again today, erased my start up disk and reinstalled again, same situation happened again, when the remaining time said around 20 minutes, it went back to 2 hours 56 minutes and stuck there. I cancelled it again.
I read some other instructions in this community and did a hard shutdown and restarted while hold down the command key + R key. it took me to the disk manager screen and the only choice I had was the OS X Lion version.
I tried to install the OS X Lion, it said that will take 3 hours or so, after 20 minutes, a screen came up and said I need to turn off the computer by press the power button down then turn the computer on again. And I did. When I turn on the computer again, with Comand + R key pressed, I had to wait for an
internet recovery before I went back to the disk manager and trying to reinstall the OS X system. It kept coming back to ask me to turn the power off…
what can I do? Please help,

Boot back into the Recovery Partition. Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.

Time Machine backup gets stuck - Please help

Hi all,
I'm backing up my MBP via ethernet to a Time Capsule. The incremental backups take forever and are driving me nuts. The backups seem to be getting stuck midway. The disk sounds like it's spinning but the progress bar doesn't move. Also, it seems to be copying over too many files every hour, like >60000 or so (log below). I doubt that so many files get modified every hour.
I've tried everything (I could think of and find on the discussion boards) like deleting the sparsebundle, deleting the entire backup drive, playing with the backup frequency, nothing works.
Please help!!

The indication that the backup completed successfully is the best evidence that it did. If you want something more explicit, you can proceed as below.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
sudo tmutil compare
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
The command will take at least a few minutes to run. Eventually some lines of output will appear below what you entered.
Each line that begins with a plus sign (“+”) represents a file that has been added to the source volume since the last snapshot was taken. These files have not been backed up yet.
Each line that begins with an exclamation point (“!”) represents a file that has changed on the source volume. These files have been backed up, but not in their present state.

Library disappeared - I'm stuck - please help

We just moved so I unplugged my computer. I backed up files onto a portable hard drive.
After hooking up my computer at my new place, my itunes library is blank. I see 2 choices, but I'm afraid to press any buttons and wipe out the songs which are stored on my ipod.
1) Automatically sync songs to my ipod. It says it syncs ipod to mirror music library (which is blank) so I don't think I want that one.
2) Follow the new computer instructions - Drag itunes folder to itunes window?? Where is the itunes window? I've copied the files a few times (from external hard drive into itunes as well as file stored under my documents/my music (where I can see the songs I've purchased.)
I'm just stuck and worried I'll lose all the songs I've paid for. Can someone please help me?

In addition to your back-up, are all your songs still in the usual folder(s) on your computer? Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when opening iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ (or C:\Username\Music\iTunes\ in Vista). Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

If your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that way you can continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.

I downloaded a trial version of Dreamweaver CS3 from Adobe.
Later, I purchased the whole Suite and when installing the
installer keeps telling me that Dreamweaver CS3 is already
installed. BUT IT'S NOT!? I deleted all the files (I think) prior
to installation of the Suite. What am I missing? Please

The installer has a mind of its own. You will almost
certainly need to
run the cs3clean script to remove all traces of the
Dreamweaver trial
version. Unfortunately, this will also remove the rest of the
suite, but
once your machine has been cleaned, the suite should install
correctly.

CS3 Installation Problem, please help!

Hi there ive been trying to install Photoshop CS3 and having great difficulty, it will only install the shared components and nothing else, Ive gone through all the tutorials on the Adobe help pages and still not had any luck, I've tried looking through the log and the only thing I could come across is the following:

just tried that and still does not want to work, really just does not want to install for some reason!
I did try this and it wouldnt let me allow inhertible permissions to the admin on Solution 11 of this: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401401 this part here:
Select both "Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object" and "Reset permissions on all child objects and enable propagation of inheritable permissions," on the Permissions tab.
Click OK in the "Advanced Security Settings" dialog box. Windows will now reset the permissions for each child object to correspond with its parent.
If you can't change permissions or rename that key, then contact Microsoft or your hardware vendor for assistance.
not sure if that has something to do with it?

ITunes 8 Installation Error PLEASE HELP!!

Ok, I know that this problem has been posted before and the last post was April of 2008.
I recently bought an iPod Touch (16gb 2nd gen)and I have downloaded the software for iTunes 8 on and I am attempting to install it. When I get into the installation process, I receive an error message that says:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly ‘Microsoft.VC80.CRT, publicKeyToken=”ifc8b3b9a1e18e3b” (etc). Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x8007054F. The installation process is then "rolled back".
Now, even though iTunes will still install onto my computer and appear to function, it will not sync with my iPod Touch. When I plug in my iPod to sync with iTunes, I get this message:
"This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to removed iTunes, then install iTunes again."
I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it and the SAME thing happens! I have NO IDEA WHAT TO DO, and I need any help I can get. I have followed all of the information found on different forums online and it either didn't work, or I didn't understand the computer lingo. If anyone knows a solution OR if anyone has had the same issue and found a solution, PLEASE HELP! I didn't get this iPod to not be able to use it!

It's too bad you lost stuff. I would recommend that you back stuff up before the next one. For example, iOS8 will be out sometime this fall. Just in case you experience the same thing again, do a backup before you do the update.

Problems with trial un-installation. Please help

Some time ago i tried adobe photoshop CS4, and used the trial till it expired. About a month afterward I wanted to delete the files from my computer. I was rather unfamiliar with how un-installers worked, and I did not know they existed. I simply went to my finder, typed photoshop, and deleted most of the files. As it turns out, i deleted the re installer, or how ever that works. I recently received photoshop CS4 extended as a gift and I attempted to install it. This was unsuccessful, the first screen that came up with the installer said I still had files from the trial on my computer, and that i should un-install them. I was told by someone who knew more about adobe products that I had to go to utilities to uninstall it . I tried this and it said critical files were missing, and I need to reinstall from the original media. In that last month or so I have found NO solution to this problem, and I am afraid to delete any other files. I could not find any help on the adobe site, and since i have not registered my product( since I have not installed it) i cannot get direct support from adobe. Please help all I want to do is use photoshop and I hate to be wasting the money of the people who bought it for me. Can anyone give me a solution to this mess?

Starting with CS3, you MUST use the Adobe Uninstaller that gets installed in Applications/ Utilities/ Adobe/.
Some users who just dragged the Photoshop folder to the trash or deleted files nilly-willy have been forced to back up their drive, wipe it clean, and install the OS and all applications from the original media. You may luck out and get away with just the CS4Clean Script. Good luck.

Minisap Installation error Please help

There are the things which have already been done
a. MS Loopback adapter has been configured fine
b. 10.10.0.10 <computer name > has been added in the etc\hosts file.
c. Have tried to install the Sap licence manually using SAPLICENSE -Install ( It installs ok)
d. Have tried to resume the installation too many times
f. Have disabled all security features on the PC during installation.
Not sure why this is not working, I had installed the same SW before the format on the PC. For some strange reason this refuses to work and the installation dosent go past 91%. Please help!!!

Thanks for looking into this.
However the problem I solved the problem by myself.
The downloaded file is ok. Hence the md5sum mentioned in my below message is accurate. I created another administrator user in windowsXP and tried to install from that user's login.The installation was successful. And now I can access the database from both the logins (the old and the new).
I hope above will help anyone in future.

You downloaded the wrong thing.
You want the J2SE v 1.4.2_09 SDK (not the J2EE or the JRE packages)
That version isn't the most recent. The most recent is the JDK 5.0 Update 5 (this is a later version of 1.4.2_09 - Sun just made some name changes.)

I had 4 albums on my iPhone 5C, all bar 1 song on each album has been deleted, I can't delete these songs at all. Show all music is not on and I am stuck, please help

please help. I have tried deleting songs on my iPhone 5c and all but one song on each album have deleted. When I try to delete these songs they just start playing. Show all music is off.

This will delete all the music from the device:
Settings > General > Usage > Music > Edit > > Delete
