I have two volumes on my mac. The system volume is case sensitive. I have a separate non-case sensitive volume from which I run CS4. I read the prerequisites before I purchased Illustrator and Photoshop CS5: "2GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash-based storage devices)" Fine. I can install it to a separate non-case sensitive volume. NOpe:
Running the installer from the NON CASE SENSITIVE Volume I get an error: "Installation to a case sensitive volume is not supported." I assume this means I cant install CS5 to a non case sensitive volume because I just happen to have a case sensitive volume on my system?

I think you are right. I find it extremely concerning that Adobe expects me to trust that their software is secure, but they have coders that can't tell the difference between "Adobe" and "adobe." CS4 had case sensitivity problems and I would have expected that fixing it would have been a priority since Web developers often need a case sensitve file system because they deal with Case sensitivity on other platforms.
I would say that the system requirements statement needs to be changed to "Can not be installed to a Case Sensitive Volume or to a system with a Case Sensitive Startup Volume." I would not have purchased the licenses had that been the case.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Restart the PC, and try another install. Does it go through properly this time?

There is no one best for everyong.
For most though: a dedicated boot drive. $105 Samsung 840 SSD is best in that category

YOu can't. The CC app itself will always install on the system volume. short of reformatting your volume there is no way to resolve this.

How do I obtain a set of Windows 7 recovery/installation discs (in my case T400)

Half an hours fruitless searching on Lenovo sites has not go me the answer. Well maybe a part number - 04T1506.

So here's the issue: At work I have a nice Lenovo laptop and have decided to get a used/refurb T400 for home. There are plenty to choose from. A large proportion state that Windows 7 is pre-installed.
The first thing I would do with the machine is a total disc wipe and clean install of Windows 7. Becuase I would have no idea what viruses/stealthware might be on the machine. No system recovery procedure would satisfy me. This is exactly what I've done on previous Windows XP based Lenovos I've had - but I had a 6-disc set called "Product Recovery CD for Type RnR'.
So what does one do with a used (or even departmentally transferred) Windows 7 T400?
How do I order something like part 04T1506? There's no obvious shopping option on the page it's listed on - e.g.

I want to feel sure about the obtainability and cost of such a disc set BEFORE I make my T400 purchase.

You have a few options depending on the "new" machines configuration.
If it came with Windows 7 installed and the recovery partition is intact, you can do a reset to factory state using Rescue and Recovery. For that matter, maybe it will come with a user-burned set of recovery media.
If it was a Win 7 machine you can do a clean install of Win 7 and activate with the CoA sticker's key - if it's readable. Follow that by a ThinkVantage System Update install and use it to pull down the appropriate drivers. Install ISOs are available for download - or borrow install media.
You can contact support., They should be able to sell you recovery media - or refer you to someone who can. Here in the US support can provide the media. This is if your machine was originally licensed for Win 7. If it was a Vista machine, support won't provide '7 media.
Otherwise you're looking at buying MS Win 7 media and doing a clean install.

The installer thinks a newer version of QuickTime exists.

I tried to upgrade to iTunes 7.6, but I couldn't, so I tried installing it manually. I uninstalled iTunes and QuickTime, but when I went to install iTunes I got the following error message. "A newer version of QuickTime is already installed. This installation cannot proceed while the newer version of QuickTime is installed." I am running Vista. Any help would be great. Just keep in mind that I am not very computer smart.

I now have the exact same issue. I have thoroughly cleaned any trace of Itunes or Quicktime including the Registry and still it thinks there is a version of quicktime on this pc. I was able to find an older Quicktime and Itunes 7.5 and they will install, but I didn't run it before trying to run the 7.6 version install. It continued to say a new version of Quicktime was there but its not. I don't know where they are looking to see if a version exists. They should have a way to force an install to overwrite no matter what is on a PC. Are you listening APPLE??????? Get with the rest of the software world. Guess I should go get a Zune...

Need help with DM software install - installer thinks I have previous installation, but I don't

This is really frustrating me, but I recently uninstalled v4.3 and have been struggling to re-install ANY version of the DM onto my XP Pro machine. I have followed every bit of advice I can find including clean un-install / install, change the TEMP environment variable, unzip the installer and store locally, but I still can't figure this out.

Les logiciels d'Adobe sont prévus pour être installés sur deux machines. Pour les versions antérieures à la CC, on peut désactiver le logiciel sans le désinstaller en allant dans le menu-aide si je me souviens bien. Ceci permet de l'installer sur plus de deux machines mais de ne l’utiliser que sur deux machines.
En cas de panne d'une des machines avec deux installations effectives effectuées, Il faut contacter le support Adobe mais le n° de téléphone dépend de ta situation géographique. Essaye de Contacter Adobe ici Quelles sont les différentes possibilités pour vous contacter ?

Lion Installer thinks that my internal boot hard drive "is used for time machine backups"

I recently installed a new hard drive on my MBP. It's been running fine, but now I'm running into trouble when I tried to install Lion!
The download worked just fine. But when I try to choose a disk to install Lion onto, my one and only hard drive (internal, boot disk) "is used for Time Machine backups" and is grayed out! I can't click it, I can't customize the installation or do anything except go backwards through the license agreement and such.
No, I do not use my internal drive as a Time Machine. But somehow, even after I've disabled Time Machine, it keeps thinking I do! Time Machine is my menu bar is grayed out, but I can click "Browse other Time Machine disks" and for some reason my boot disk comes up! ("(My name)'s MacBook Pro on 'Untitled 1') I've never used this disk as a Time Machine!
I have a feeling that this is somehow related to my using Super Duper to clone my old hard drive during the upgrade process.
Is there a way to remove the Time Machine files from my boot disk or otherwise convince Lion to install? I've already repaired my disk permissions in Disk Utility. What else can I do?

At some point, probably accidentally, your internal HD was selected as a destination for Time Machine. Even if that was immediately changed, it had already created a Backups.backupdb folder at the top level of the drive.
As long as that's there, OSX thinks you're trying to install OSX on your backup drive. Just delete that folder.

New Exchange 2010 installation. HUB and CAS on two seperate servers, need two certificates?

Title says it all. I have already completed the Exchange server installation with 2010 R1 on 2008 R2 sp1 servers in HyperV
I have two physical servers in one rack. HVHost1 one holds EXCHHUB and EXCHMB1 HVHOST2 holds EXCHCAS and EXCHMB2
do I have to generate and request two seperate SAN certificates one for the CAS and one for the HUB? or will one certificate do the trick?
If I can use one certificate, do i need to do anything special to apply it to both servers or just let the wizard do its thing?

Make sure you are selecting the correct server in EMC when installing the Cert.

That case (posted above) will probably leave a massive gap in the casing, as the iPod touch is not as 'bulky' as the iPhone. You may damage your unit more by carrying it in that. If you want a case, i'd go for something like this:

I have the same product (from 3 years)... and I had the same problem!... it's the faulty volume control! I changed it 2 times... the first replaced was broken ,5 years ago... the second (different from the original) 6 month ago... :smileysurprised:

Quicktime installer thinks that I have a newer version installer

I have tried everyone of the suggestions concerning
uninstalling/reinstalling quicktime. The net result
is that now the latest quicktime only installer (7.1.3.100)
fails with the message "A newer version of quicktime is
already installed". My OS is Windows XP SP2 Build 2600.

I had iTunes (not sure of the version any more). I had problem
with ipod not being recognized. I tried to upgrade iTunes.
The installer seemed to work, but would not run. I then
want to do the installations piece by piece, and that is
when the problem with QuickTime became apparent. At this

CS6 installation failed - Volume E: does not exist

Having previously had CS6 on E: drive with the WinXP 32bit OS, I have recently upgraded to a SSD anbd it's now my C: drive. I then did a clean re-instal of everything. However CS6 fails to install with 8 warnings and an error - InstallDir Volume E: does not exist. I have no idea why and the xit code tells me nothing. Is there a way to get around this?
