Installer / Uninstaller Error "No Error Information is Available"

Hello everyone,
I am trying to install the latest Flash Player for Firefox, Chrome, and Opera on Windows XP. Tried installing through firefox and the AdobeDLM addon. That failed.
Tried to install via Chrome via the "Download the Plug-in" version and when I run install_flash_player.exe I get the following error:
The Installation encounter errors:
No Error information is available"
Tried to unistall the previous version via the uninstall_flash_player.exe provided by Adobe, only to get the same error when running that.
Can anyone please suggest what I should do from this point?
Thanks in advance!
~John Jimenez

Hi, I'am experiencing exactly the same error.
Today firefox asked me to update flash to the latest version (running Windows 7). The uninstall of the previous version at least worked in so far that neither the IE nor the version for other browsers is listed in the programs control panel anymore.
But I'm not able to start the installation of the new version (tried Chrome, Firefox and IE as well as the installer files) or even start the uninstaller. In any case I get the adobe error message "The installation encountered errors: No error information is available".
Any ideas?

Hi, ok then the update was the Firefox browser itself and then a message to update Flash Player. It sounds as if you need to Uninstall Flash Player and then Install for IE and FF.
Download the Uninstaller and SAVE to your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download the Flash Player for IE and SAVE to your Desktop:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
Download the Flash Player for FF and SAVE to your Desktop:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
You may want to print out the instructions from the Uninstaller. Be sure to read and follow those instructions. Use the Administrator Account, and before you start, Close All browsers. Refer to any Flash running in the system tray. After you Run the Uninstaller, Reboot (restart) your computer and when fully Rebooted, Reboot again(to clear the IE files out).
Then Run the Installer for IE, Run the Installer for FF, then one final Reboot.
    test here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

  • Installation/Uninstallation Error

I went to uninstall firefox and it didn't completely uninstall, when i went to install a newer version it says a previous version uninstall must be completed and the computer must be restarted before installation can continue... it just sticks in an endless cycle of this, anything i can do to remedy this?

After uninstalling LiveCycle to insure the installation was complete, check to see that the Jboss for Livecycle ES and MySQL for Livecycle ES are no longer present and that the installation folder is completely deleted.

    Try the following..
Compress the audio files before uploading them to Google.. using Apple's built in file compressor... (Right/Control click on an audio file and choose compress from the popup menu...
Download from Google and then decompress audio files..
Now test in Logic and see if you get the same issue....

Thanks!  I looked at the Busycal post:
To fix this, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy, select Contacts in the left sidebar, then check BusyCal.app.
On my system, only Skype, Parallels, and Contacts Cleaner are enabled to access contacts.
FYI, LinkedIn doesn't list any apps as having asked for, or been given access.
If that doesn't work, here is a bigger hammer:
    OK
              1) Launch Terminal in /Applications/Utilities.
              2) Paste the following text and hit return:
                   tccutil reset AddressBook
First, I want to see what that does so I ran man tccutil
         NAME
tccutil -- manage the privacy database
         SYNOPSIS
              tccutil command service
         DESCRIPTION
The tccutil command manages the privacy database, which stores decisions the
user has made about whether apps may access personal data.
              One command is current supported:
reset    Reset all decisions for the specified service, causing apps to prompt
again the next time they access the service.
         EXAMPLES
To reset all decisions about whether apps may access the address book:
                    tccutil reset AddressBook
              3) Quit Terminal.
              4) Launch BusyCal, and click OK when asked whether to allow access to your contacts.
Now I see under System Preferences->Security&Privacy->Privacy->Contacts that all apps were removed from the list.
I haven't had BusyCal in years so I just launched Calendar and Contacts.
Unfortunately, as soon as I launch Contacts, I get the pop-up again about the LinkedIn

  • Adobe Anchor Service CS4 Error 1612. The installation source for this product is not available.

    Hi,
I've been trying to install CS4 Design Premium, except that I got this message:
    Adobe Anchor Service CS4
    Error:
Error 1612. The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
What is wrong and how do I fix it? I've installed this on my sister's laptop as well, but I've already uninstall it. Could this be the reason why?
    Help appreciated, thanks!

Contact Adobe Technical Support for CS4 installation issues.
The problem has nothing to do with the fact that you already installed the same software on your "sister's laptop as well." And although you have already uninstalled it (and hopefully deactivated it as well), please remember that this software is licensed for a single user! You and your sister cannot somehow share the license.

Many people have the same problem. However, there is little or nothing readily available to users. This problem has existed for two or more years. Does anyone have anything to offer about this disturbing problem?

Thanks for the suggestion kcell. I've tried both versions
9.0.115 and 9.0.124 and both fail with the policy permission error.
I also tried with and without your crossdomain.xml file but
with the same result. It looks like this file is intended for URL
policy, instead of socket policy. Recently Adobe separated the two.
When I run with the files installed on my dev PC, it does
work, which makes sense because the flash player isn't loaded from
    an unknown domain.
I did get one step closer. If a crossdomain.xml in the server
root exists and the socketpolicy file is loaded from the app folder
then the first two warnings disappear. The logs now show:
    OK: Root-level SWF loaded:
    https://192.168.2.5/trunk/myapp.swf
    OK: Policy file accepted: https://192.168.2.5/crossdomain.xml
    OK: Policy file accepted:
    https://192.168.2.5/trunk/socketpolicy.xml
Warning: Timeout on xmlsocket://192.168.2.5:843 (at 3
seconds) while waiting for socket policy file. This should not
    cause any problems, but see
    http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files
    for an explanation.
Warning: [strict] Ignoring policy file with incorrect syntax:
    xmlsocket://192.168.2.5:993
Error: Request for resource at xmlsocket://192.168.2.5:993 by
requestor from https://192.168.2.5/trunk/myapp.swf is denied due to
    lack of policy file permissions.
Which basically says, everything is okay, but you stay out
    anyway.
PS: I found the XML schema files here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/fplayer9_security_02.html
    and the socket policy schema:
    http://www.adobe.com/xml/schemas/PolicyFileSocket.xsd.
UPDATE: When serving up the policy file on port 843 using the
example perl script then the socket connection seems to be accepted
and the connect succeeds. After that flex hangs trying to logon to
    the IMAP server.

  • "the installation source for this product is not available" error message

I was following directions to update to i-tunes 10, and my computer was trying to shut down in order to restart. It froze, and would not turn off, so I turned it off manually, then restarted. I got distracted and did not wonder why i-tunes did not finish installing. Tried to open i-tunes later from the desktop shortcut and it said something about not being installed all the way, so the shortcut was not valid.
I tried to uninstall all the i-tunes stuff, in order, from my computer to try installing it again, and I cannot uninstall i-tunes!! It gives me this error message; "the installation source for this product is not available" and then gives me a file name to search my computer for, that can't be found. I MISS my i-tunes. Please help! How do I get the old i-tunes version off my computer?

These sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try reinstalling iTunes. Does the install go through properly this time?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

I am getting the exact same error. How come anyone else did not get it?
The procedure I followed was :
Downloaded and installed the "download manager" first.
Then selected all product updates from BOXI3.1 Enterprise
It downloaded 58 items. After an inquiry I came to know that you need to install only the latest patch, i.e. Patch 1.7 will include all previous patches. So I was running 1.7 and getting this error constantly, and unable to install it at all.
I tried downloading it from different places and networks, same error persists.

    HELP!!!
I am trying to install iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop and get this error:
"The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured   Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified"
Arghhhhh!! I've tried different browsers and various other things suggested on other posts to no avail

Ok people, I think I have found the solution !
If you click on the start button from your desktop screen.
Then in the "search programs and files" field type : apple software update - you can find the apple installer.
Click on the apple software update line and let the machine run it's course. I recommend updating whatever it wants to , ie: safari 5, quicktime, itunes....
I then restarted my computer and it seems to be working now !
    Good luck everyone !
