Installing 10.4.10 and cannot install Mobile Device Support. I have followed the documentation at the support pages and have totally cleaned out Apple software so that I could do a total clean "new" install. Still no success. Any suggestions?
In trying to install iTunes 10.4.1.10 I could not get Apple Mobile Device Support to work. Following Apple support (docs Ht1923 ?71926 + TS1538 et al) cleaned out all Apple software for a "new" install. Still can not get Mobile Device Support to install. What am I missing?

After uninstalling iTunes and the related components it is useful to physically delete any files that may remain in the specified locations before attempting to reinstall.
If that still doesn't work you could try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). AMDS might not install right now, but you may get a more useful error message as to why not, and you might be able to run iTunes even if you can't update your devices at this stage.
Make sure you download a fresh copy of the installer as it was updated some time after the initial release.

Just installed a new airpot extreme with a modem to use as a wireless system. Setup was successful however with 3 iPads and one laptop we cannot get all devices access to Internet. Let me tell you coulpe of things I noticed:
- Are you using LEAP as the EAP method? some config examples illustrate configuriong using LEAP with WEP keys. Forget this and use WPA2-AES.

- in some AP configurations (AP1 for example) I can see that:
wlccp authentication-server client any method_Users
This means that the wlccp client authentication will use the method called method_Users. Let us see what is configured with this method:
aaa authentication login method_Users group Users
This shows us that the method method_Users uses the server group named Users.
let us see what is configured withe the group Users:
aaa group server radius Users
NOTHING!! it is empty!! so when a client tries to connect it will try to autheticate it against the radius server but the radius server group that it needs to check is empty.
so I think you need to either use the correct method under which the server is configured with the wlccp statement. OR you need to configure the method_Users with correct user group that contains a server.
Check and let me know if that works.

What itunes/sony programs can I elimnate from my pc if I only use it on my pc? I have no mobile devices and afraid Im have sony, safari browser and other programs on my computer. Yes, you are right. If I manually code the same amount of those components in the JSF pages instead of generating them dynamically, the server will still run out of memory. That is to say, JSF pages might not accommodate a great deal of concurrent visiting. If I upgrade the server to just allow 1,000 teachers making their own test papers at the same time, but when over 2,000 students take the same questionnaire simultaneously, the server will need another upgrading. So I have to do what you have told me, using JS+DOM instead of upgrading the server endlessly.

Mail app quits when opened after installing Mavericks. I reinstalled and still the same. I noticed the mail app icon has not changed to the new icon in Mavericks. Any suggestions?
I also forgot to note that this problem also persists with the new iBooks application. I cannot get past the 'Get Started' screen or access the iBooks Store. Again, all top bar menus are unresponsive.

I can not update my installed apps from the App Store Update page. I can individually update from the App Store Purchased page. I tried a soft reset but still unable. Any suggestions?
You are doing all that you cn do right now other than to update the apps in iTunes on your computer and sync them to the iPad.
There has been a problem with the App Store updates tab for a few days now and we are all waiting for Apple to fix it.

I cant' sync my ipod because it says"The iPod cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later. I can't download it because my MAC is version 10.5.8 and it won't accept the newer version of itunes. Any suggestions?

If you're using a fifth generation iPod touch and an Intel Mac, buy Mac OS X 10.6 from the online Apple Store and run Software Update.

Just downloaded iTunes to new dell laptop, tried syncing my iPhone get an error message: "this iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". What is the issue, had this phone over a year??
I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck! -

I recently purchased Elements 13 for Mac-OS and cannot download N-OS and cannot download NEF-RAW files taken on my Nikon D5500. The model is not listed among those supported by Elements, but the D5300 is, which is nearly identical. Is there any quick fix?
What is N-OS?
For the camera raw problem, every new camera has its own raw format and ACR must be updated to include it. That hasn't happened yet for the D5500, so you'll just have to use the Nikon software till Adobe gets the info and releases an updated version of ACR. It's not unusual to be in your situation if you buy a camera model that's only been out a month. You just have to wait a bit. -
Ipod classic 160GB very slow sync and cannot connect to itunes store windows 7 ansd itunes 10.6.0.40. I have now been trying for 3 weeks to restore my iPod. Really frustrated, any ideas would be welcome.
Cured the problem! Reinstalled an earlier version of itunes from oldapps.com (version 10) now everything works as it should. I would suggest that if you are experiencing these problems that you do the same. I must say that it is a brave business decision on behalf of apple to effectively lock out all windows 7 users from their products and sales channels and I can only wish them luck in this very shortsighted policy.

Software updates sometimes do not install. I have two software updates that I continually show up as available to install. When I click on the install button it changes to installed. Checked About this Mac shows that the updates have not installed.

I have copied my iTunes library onto a new computer, but when I play back the songs using the new computer, there seems to be random "miss" or "drop out" during play back, similar to a small scratch on a vinyl record. Although when I play the same song over again, the "miss" occurs in a different location during the song. No probs with old computer, just the new one. I'm onto my third new computer - same problem. Any suggestions please?
You don't say which version of iTunes you are using, but the symptoms you describe have been encountered by some users with the 64-bit version of iTunes 12.1.
There is an alternative version for 64-bit editions of Windows here:

that seems to address the most of the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version of 12.1.0.77 - including problems with Bluetooth speakers where either sound is degraded or completely absent. The alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer. The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio (one part of the reported symptoms is that the "Direct Sound" choice isn't available, usually in Windows 8). It may also be necessary to ensure that your Bluetooth speakers are active and selected as the default audio device before you run iTunes.
If this doesn't address the issue, you may want to think about reverting to iTunes 12.0 - see Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.
